The Saiyan Devil

Chapter 18

Goku groaned as he felt Ultra Instinct disappear after defeating Kefla. He needed the form to stay a bit while he handled Jiren, who was being backed by Toppo, who became a God of Destruction. After Kefla's defeat, the void went from black to green, and the last three remaining universes watched as the remaining fighters met each other in a clear space of the arena.

Goku, Vegeta, and Android 17 were left for Universe 7, Jiren and Toppo for Universe 11, and Celeon for Universe 6. It was surprising that Universe 6 lasted this long. The Gods didn't think highly of Champa, but seeing Celeon fight made them second-guess Champa altogether. Even Beerus acknowledged Celeon's power.

"So, it's just us at last," Toppo spoke deeply as he peered over at his opponents, who all stiffened from his opposing figure.

Goku walked up to Jiren, staring at him face to face. It was now or never. Vegeta could feel Goku's power rising as he began to shout, his hair spiked up to Blue immediately. Jiren bared his teeth, and his eyes glared at Goku before an explosion happened.

Everyone looked to see Goku fighting Jiren.

"Alright, Android, let's handle this wannabe God!" Vegeta wasn't about to get shown up by Goku. He didn't care about Ultra Instinct, not anymore! He'll find his own path.

Vegeta began to charge up energy, just enough to enter Super Saiyan Blue. Android 17 didn't utter a word as he shot off a barrage of Ki blasts at Toppo, who stood there unbothered as purple wisps flew off his body.

Vegeta flew at Toppo, going straight for a punch to his face, which sent Toppo flying back, which surprised the Pride Trooper. Vegeta didn't let Toppo rest. He knew once he did, it would be over. Vegeta sent a flurry of punches into Toppo's face, causing his thick mustache to billow from side to side heavily.

Toppo managed to stop Vegeta's assault and kick into his gut, causing the Saiyan Prince to be sent flying back before he regained his bearings. Toppo was already hovering above him, but a green barrier was erected around Vegeta, blocking off Toppo.

Vegeta scoffed as he knew it was the Android but made no comment about the assist. Vegeta needed to put aside his pride in working with someone and finishing this tournament. It dragged on long enough for his taste, and he rather be home with his wife and kids.

Toppo jumped back and charged up a Hakai ball before throwing it at the barrier. Vegeta knew how dangerous Hakai was, and he and Android 17 made a leap backward as the Hakai went through the barrier like it wasn't even in the way.

Vegeta began to scowl as he found his situation to be complicated. He wasn't sure how to deal with this type of opponent. He trains with Beerus occasionally, but Toppo is a fresh God Of Destruction candidate. He combined his Pride Trooper training with the God Of Destruction training, making his attacks unpredictable.

Vegeta side-eyed over to see that Celeon was recovering his energy, but Vegeta felt something else. It was godly ki, no doubt, and it was rising. Vegeta looked to see that Goku was fairing well against Jiren, using various tricks to try and ring out the strongest Mortal across the cosmos. His eyes returned to Toppo.

"Hmph, your attacks reek of arrogance. You feel that you're entitled to everything. You're nothing more than a fool," Toppo spoke to Vegeta, whose eyes seemed to flash about something.

"Is that…supposed to be insulting?" Vegeta stood up straight; his muscles seemed to relax, and his mind was focused. Everyone could sense something within Vegeta well up, something strong. "You say I'm arrogant, and I say damn right! That's pride! Pride in the Saiyan I am. I won't let some bastard who abandoned everything to play god talk about me!"

Suddenly, Vegeta's power began to skyrocket, shocking everyone from Universe 7 and Universe 6.

"Whoa! Vegeta's power just shot up!" Krillin said as he gripped the bleachers.

"It seems he's tapping into something. How peculiar," Whis commented as he felt Vegeta's power surge.

Vegeta's ki exploded everywhere, like a light show, but it quickly died down as it appeared. All of the aura that once surrounded Vegeta disappeared, being sucked back into his body like a sponge. Vegeta's fluffy hair billowed in the wind, and everything about Vegeta seemed to be natural. His stoic face exhibited a calming air.

"Whoa…it's Super Saiyan Blue…but, different, it feels stronger…did he master it?" Gohan asked as he noticed that the form wasn't wildly leaking any aura or ki. It was controlled.

"Correct, after so long…he's done it. Heh, this should be great," Beerus said excitedly as his teeth bared. He has been training Vegeta for a bit now, considering he wouldn't stop pestering him. Beerus was now impressed that he had perfected Super Saiyan Blue. It was completely different from the one before, not just a simple power-up from the standard Super Saiyan God. It was now its own thing.

"You think this will stop me?"

"Android, I hope you can still keep up with me," Vegeta said mockingly.

Android 17 looked at Vegeta with a straight face. "I'm an android, remember?"

"Hmph, let's get this over with!"

Vegeta and Android 17 dashed at Toppo, both of them punching the giant in the chest, sending him crashing through many rocks. Toppo quickly recovered and blasted away the leftover rocks and debris. Toppo looked only for a white and black glove to punch into his face again.

Surprisingly, Vegeta and Android 17 were working in tandem with one another, not perfectly, but to the point that Toppo was struggling even to make his next move. Vegeta kicked into Toppo's gut, and Android 17 kicked his shin, causing the Pride Trooper to lose balance.

However, before Vegeta and Android 17 could safely knock Toppo out, Goku came crashing into them, knocking them out of sync.

"Damnit, Kakarot! Watch where you're going. We could've knocked that prideless bastard out!" Vegeta shouted as he pushed Goku off his body.

Android 17 also looked visibly annoyed but didn't voice it. His focus was on Jiren, who came next to Toppo but didn't bother to help the latter up. Jiren looked at Vegeta's perfected Super Saiyan Blue and frowned, his displeasure leaking out from seeing how balanced Vegeta seemed. He knew the Saiyan Prince was egotistical beyond repair, but he couldn't refute that he was strong.

"What're you doing playing around for, Toppo?" Jiren asked bluntly. His disapproval of his fellow Pride Trooper was clear.

"I was caught off guard, nothing more, Jiren."

"Vegeta, I'm impressed. You mastered Super Saiyan Blue!" Goku cheered as he scanned Vegeta.

"Hmph, it doesn't matter. We need to hurry up!"

"I'll handle Toppo!"

The voice caught everyone's attention. They saw a bruised-up Celeon as he appeared to Goku's left, causing the Saiyan to smirk at his pupil.

"I've been waiting to regain some of my strength, and I think I'm ready to walk through the door and into the realm of the gods."

"Does that mean…"

"Yeah, I can tap into my Super Saiyan God," Celeon answered for Goku, who nodded.

"Alright, Kakarot, Android, let's handle Jiren," Vegeta spoke with mild interest, wanting to see Celeon's form that Goku talked so much about. "Brat, you better win. You're a Saiyan. I won't have you lose to a spineless coward trying to play god!"

Celeon affirmed Vegeta with a confident nod. "You got it! Leave it to me!"

Celeon's voice oozed confidence, which caused everyone in Universe 6 to release their worry. They could also feel Celeon's energy skyrocketing as well. Goku, Vegeta, and Android 17 rushed again at Jiren, getting the alien to strike at them all with a leg sweep.

Toppo glared at Celeon, hoping he would walk himself into the bleachers to be erased, but he was hardheaded.

"When you hit me with those Hakai attacks, I thought I was finished…but I carried on. There's a reason I survived; now, I will use that exact power to defeat you. Did you abandon everything? Cut the act!" Celeon yelled in frustration as he remembered Vegeta's words.

"I'm a Saiyan as well, which means I have pride in my race and myself! I will kick your ass for you to wake up and remember your pride!"

Celeon clenched his fist, and a pillar of gold erupted from him. It was an all-out light show like Vegetas, but a pillar of pure light instead of a blue flash. Celeon's hair went upwards, and his charcoal-colored eyes went crimson, but they didn't stay that color for long. The golden pillar of light soon turned violet before the aura he was leaking shot back down into his body, absorbing it as well.

His golden hair now went into puffy violet, his crimson eyes disappeared and turned into a lilac purple, shining like a star, and his bulky body became slender.

"Hahaha! He's finally done it!" Champa roared with the same excitement his brother did before.

"Hell yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!' Caulifla wrapped her arms around Kale, shedding comical tears. They knew the form was the hardest thing Celeon had to overcome, but now it was finally complete.

Celeon reached for his pockets and took out a large, golden-hooped earring before putting it on his left ear. Celeon's slender frame made him seem lanky, but everyone knew that appearances could lead to your downfall.

"This is Super Saiyan God, mastered," Celeon voiced as he got into a Saiyan stance. "Now, let's continue our final round. I will fight you like a Saiyan…and a Destroyer."

"This form-"

Toppo was cut off by an unseeable punch connecting directly to his face from above, sending him crashing into the ground. Toppo felt his ankles get grabbed before he was spun around like a twister by Celeon. The young Saiyan was powerful and fast; he was perfectly balanced.

Celeon spun Toppo around and threw him away, but Celeon followed it up by appearing above him and punching him rapidly in the face. Toppo was then kicked into the arena, hard enough to create a crater as Celeon flipped back.

Celeon looked at Toppo, who was struggling to get out of the crater before he looked at his clenched fist, opening and closing them. He felt unbelievably powerful and noticed that he wasn't exerting any aura. It was like it was trapped in his body, fueling it from within, making his impacts harder. Celeon couldn't help but chuckle to himself.

"What are you chuckling for? I'm still in the arena!" Toppo screamed out with frustration as he watched the young Saiyan laugh in his face.

Celeon blinked, his purple eyes shimmering like the starry sky. "I'm laughing at my own power…it's quite unreal. I felt all my training was for naught, but it paid off. And it's thanks to you."

"To me? What are you babbling about?"

"When we fought, I used this form prematurely, so afterward, I trained nonstop. Even when entering this tournament, I couldn't use it. It wasn't until you hit me with Destruction Energy that I could tap into this realm. You assisted me in opening that door. And for that, I will repay you by defeating you."

Toppo remained silent before he took action, spamming Hakai energy at Celeon in a fit of silent rage. He didn't understand this; Celeon was undoubtedly using Destruction Energy, but his was controlled and tamed. That made Toppo furious! Toppo has been at this longer than the young Saiyan!

Celeon grinned before he seemingly grabbed one of Toppo's Hakai attacks. Even the Gods Of Destruction were shocked by this feat. Was it even possible to grab Hakai the way he did? Celeon stared at the Hakai ball in his hands, bouncing it up and down like it was just another ball.

"Is…is he serious?" This time, it was Gin, one of the Gods Of Destruction said with a sweatdrop. "He's playing the Hakai ball like it's nothing! Incredible! HAHA!"

Celeon's gaze turned serious when he felt Toppo approach him quickly. Still, Celeon used the Hakai ball in his hands and tossed it at Toppo, whose eyes widened before he dodged it, but Celeon managed to speed past Toppo and kneed him in the neck a few times before hitting him with a kickflip. Toppo was sent stumbling forward, but he recovered and turned to see Celeon with his back towards him.

Celeon turned around with a piercing gaze. His face was stoic, unlike the childish grin he once expressed after transforming. Celeon could feel the power within flow like a quiet stream, yet it was powerful. This felt like a fantasy to him. It was mesmerizing. Dark thoughts began to flow through Celeon, causing him to shake them away before they corrupted him.

Toppo and Celeon clashed, with Celeon blocking Toppo's attacks with his elbows. Toppo jumped back and shot more Hakai at him, but Celeon kicked the air while spinning, using one of Cabba's attacks as it sent a purple ki swipe at the Hakai, canceling it out.

Celeon sped after Toppo with speeds surpassing Kefla's, which was impressive. She was faster than everyone here, possibly on par with Dyspo, who was looking at the fight with crossed arms.

Toppo went for a punch, but Celeon jumped onto Toppo's large arms and kicked him with the heel of his boot, causing spit to fly out of Toppo's mouth. Toppo didn't stagger long as he managed to swat Celeon away, but the Saiyan recovered and went on the offensive again. Celeon's punches were all aimed at Toppo's face. None of them went for anything lower.

Toppo used this to his advantage and kicked Celeon in the shin after he pulled his arm back, getting the Saiyan to stumble and allowing Toppo to slam a heavy punch to his face, sending the Saiyan into the arena floor. Toppo took a similar stance to Justice Flash and shot off a dozen in close range.

After a few seconds, smoke piled up, and all you could see were flashes of red before an enigmatic purple erupted, and Toppo came flying out of the smoke. The Pride Trooper stopped himself, but Celeon spun sideways at him, landing a strong kick to Toppo's face.

Toppo roared in anguish, and the purple ki around him flared up, getting Celeon to jump a safe distance back.

"I WON'T LOSE TO LIKES OF YOU!"

Goku and Vegeta were striking Jiren from the front, but the Universe 11 resident blocked them all with his forearm. Android 17 was busy throwing ki blasts at Jiren, and at a rapid pace, it seemed like he had limitless ki to do so. Jiren began to plan how he should handle this matter. Vegeta was stronger than before, and it was clear he was stronger than Goku was right now.

That wasn't the main problem.

Jiren grunted heavily and landed heavy blows to Goku and Vegeta's faces, sending them skidding back. Jiren gave his opponents a hard glare. His black eyes shined as he reevaluated his enemies. Jiren wanted to test himself; that's one reason he joined this stupid tournament, but after hearing about the Super Dragon Balls, he knew he had to have them for himself.

Greed was a drug to all sentient lifeforms.

Jiren was no exception to that flaw. He just had a clear head to keep out such thoughts. He wondered what Goku would wish for but didn't ask. He looked at Vegeta and scoffed at the idea of asking him. Jiren shifted into reality as Vegeta went back into action despite Goku's cry. Jiren snickered before he began to block a multitude of swift punches.

Jiren looked intently and noticed the confident smirk on Vegeta's face. Before, it was cocky, filled with an arrogance that could destroy the sun. However, this made Jiren frustrated, causing him to quietly amp up his next attack and swing at the Saiyan Prince, but Vegeta ducked, almost like he saw it. The next thing Jiren felt was his liver shake violently. He looked down to see that Vegeta landed a solid kick to the side of his stomach.

Everyone in Universe 11's mouth dropped. This was the first attack that seemingly made such an impact that it looked like it made Jiren clench his teeth and flinch. Jiren was visibly angered and knocked Vegeta away, but Vegeta felt the volatile adrenaline and made a few expert backflips before releasing a Galick Gun. Jiren ran forward and casually slapped it away before ramming his shoulder into Vegeta's face.

Jiren used Vegeta's moment of paralysis and punched him into the air before teleporting above, joining his hands together and slamming Vegeta in the chest plate on his armor back down. Before Vegeta could rocket into the arena floor, Jiren grabbed him by the hair and slammed him aggressively into the floor before picking him up and enveloping the Saiyan Prince in a sphere of fiery red ki. Goku and Android 17 wanted to rush in back but were shocked to see how fast Jiren was fighting Vegeta. Vegeta screamed in pure agony before the sphere exploded.

Jiren felt the need to jump back, and he did. His eyes narrowed with a cold gaze, seeing the black smoke clear. Everyone was expecting Vegeta to be on the ground, but instead, he was standing on his two feet, with smoke coming off his body as if someone grilled him.

"Heh…HAHA! I see. You really are strong, Jiren…but I wonder if you're strong enough to take my next attack! You won't move an inch if I'm not a threat to you. I can tell by how you look at me that you think I pose no threat! WRONG!"

Vegeta bent his body and arms, and blue flames appeared in the palms of both his hands. The ground began to shake, and a surge of electricity began to coat Vegeta. The maddening grin on Vegeta's face also expressed clear desperation. He needed to knock Jiren out! Time was running out.

"BLUE…" Vegeta put his arms forward, similar to a Final Flash. "PROMINENCE FLASH!"

Vegeta's attack shot off like a tempest, heading towards Jiren at such blinding speeds that Jiren barely had time to put his arms in a defensive formation in front of his face to take the hit. The attack passed the bleachers, and the contestants sighed, grateful that Vegeta aimed the attack away from them. The Gods had a nervous sweat seeing the blue burst of flames pass by them like a beam.

After half a minute, Vegeta's attack died down.

There was a heavy amount of smoke billowing from the spot Jiren was at. The two Zenos were on the edge of their seats as they had their child-like eyes peeled to the spot where Jiren was located. The fight entranced them that the rules were completely thrown out of the window.

Vegeta huffed and puffed. His heavy breaths finally died down as he gave a toothy grin. He was victorious!

However.

Before anyone could see what was happening, Jiren had a red ki blast stuck into Vegeta's gut. Everyone's mouth dropped, and Vegeta stuttered as his eyes slowly fell to his stomach.

"Rest, Warrior."

Before Vegeta knew it, his vision flashed red and eventually black, and he fell unconscious.

Celeon and Toppo's fight raged on as Toppo suddenly gained a third wind. Celeon had the upper hand before, but now he was actually on edge as he needed to block Toppo's heavy hits while letting the weaker ones land. It was a risky tactic cause he didn't know if he'd catch a third wind himself. He needed to finish Toppo quickly,

Toppo punched Celeon away and shot Hakai at him, but Celeon cloaked his hands in Destruction Energy and punched through them easily as he rushed at Toppo. The God Of Destruction candidate put up his defense and proceeded to block Celeon's punches, but they were so fast that he couldn't fight back.

Celeon kicked at Toppo's shins. The Pride Trooper felt his balance shift into vertigo, but Celeon began to pummel him into the arena floor before he could move. With one hand cocked back, Celeon's ki flared before he brought it down into Toppo's chest; the ki from Celeon's punch entered Toppo's body and struck every nerve in his body; Toppo's pupils rolled back as the state of unconsciousness took over.

Celeon was going to ring out Toppo, but his instincts told him to jump back, which he did. He watched as Toppo seemingly came back with his forthwind. Celeon was instantly struck in the ribs. His eyes went blank as he was sent crashing into a pillar. Celeon didn't burst through it, but it was enough to keep him lodged in it.

"He's persistent," Cabba voiced with a sweat drop. He never saw a tenacious fighter like Toppo. No, he did. Celeon was always a tenuous fighter who never gave up.

"HEY! GET UP AND BEAT THAT CARROT TOP! I WON'T HAVE YOU LOSING TO ANYONE BUT ME!"

Caulifla's sudden shout of encouragement seemingly had its effect. Celeon's fingers began to move, and his eyes regained life. He was still in Super Saiyan God, thankfully. He looked up at the bleachers to see his team, the people who trusted him. Celeon's gaze lingered on Kale and Caulifla. He knew Caulifla for the longest time, given that his mother taught her how to brawl. They practically grew up together until Celeon decided to enter the Defense Force.

Their relationship didn't strain as most people would think. One was a supposed thug, and the other was a law-abiding officer, yet they still kept being friends. Celeon met Cabba in the Defense Force. Cabba showed him the ropes, and even when his ki ran out of control, Cabba was the only one to help him control it to some extent.

Kale reminded Celeon of his father. His father didn't like to fight, having wanted to live a normal life away from the fighting. Some called him a coward, a weakling, and a waste of space. Universe 6 Saiyans may be different from their Universe 7 counterparts, but they were still Saiyans at the end of the day. If you can fight, you gain respect from your peers.

Then, Celeon met the rest of his team, albeit some rather have him dead, but that didn't exclude the fact they were riding on him to prevail.

"This is the end, Celeon. I will not let you continue!"

Toppo began to charge up, and the red marks on his toned chest exploded with light. Toppo spread his arms, and a big ball of Hakai was created. However, you could tell this was just another one of Toppo's desperate attempts to secure victory.

Celeon's mind began to return to all the training he'd done with his team. Caulfila's determination to make him go all out, Kale's wanting to prove herself that she's a capable fighter, and Cabba wanting to keep up with him..not as rivals.

But as a brother.

Celeon bared his teeth as he gained his third wind. However, once he was returned, Toppo's attack already encased him like a bug in amber.

"I WILL WIN NO MATTER THE COST!"

A mighty, beastly roar escaped from Celeon's mouth. From Universe 7's perspective, it reminded them of the Oozaru. Even though Universe 6 Saiyans evolved past the need for tails and the Oozaru itself, it still lay dormant.

Toppo's attack was beginning to shift. It didn't explode or move. Its purple color went into a lighter shade. Everyone thought Celeon was finished, but suddenly, pillars of light exploded from the Hakai ball.

"W-What's happening!" Toppo said frantically as he felt his hold on his attack waver.

"REMEMBER YOUR PRIDE!"

Those were the last words Celeon said before he opened his mouth, and a blast of red and black energy shot out the Hakai and after Toppo. Toppo's eyes widened in fear before he was blasted. There was nothing he could do. The blast enveloped his whole body, and only his screams could be heard before it took him out of the arena. Toppo's attack blew away as Celeon escaped, not while releasing heavy breaths.

Toppo appeared in the Universe 11 bleachers while unconscious. His sudden knock-out shocked everyone as he landed in front of Dyspo.

Celeon still had some power left, but he never had once used a mouth blast before. He needed to name it.

Blast Of Pride?

Nah, that sounded stupid.

Goku and Android 17 were fighting Jiren to the best of their abilities. The situation was looking grim for them, and they needed to hurry before time ran out. Sure, they could stall, but this was Jiren.

Jiren backed away before looking up at the bleachers. Everyone was knocked out.

"I expected more from you, Toppo," Jiren said with a scoff before looking to see Celeon appearing near the fallen Vegeta. What shocked Jiren next was the fact that Celeon blasted Vegeta with a red and black orb that seemed to give Vegeta the strength to stand.

'Unexpected…but nonetheless, he'll fall like the rest.'

"I see, so this is what you used on Cabba, right? I feel rejuvenated enough to enter Super Saiyan God," And just like that, Vegeta did so, his muscle mass becoming thinner due to the form.

Vegeta looked up to see Toppo looking at them with a depressed gaze. However, he could see the embers of his pride returning.

"Hmph, good work. Seems that wannabe god has some pride left in him," Vegeta complimented before turning his attention to Jiren.

Everyone gulped as they watched Goku, Android 17, Vegeta, and Celeon group up a few feet away from Jiren. The Universe 11 Pride Trooper looked at them all with a crystal-cold gaze.

"Seems I'll have to get a bit serious. I will knock you all out myself and win the Super Dragon Balls," Jiren's cold words set a shocking realization in them all.

They were in the endgame.

AN: I did a few references to Fusion Reborn, where Gogeta did his attacks on Janemba and the stare he did when he turned around. Again, this chapter was done last year, but I suddenly stopped uploading for this story. Sorry about that. I'm officially dedicating my time to this story as I got the next two arcs planned.

Looking at older chapters, I couldn't help but shake my head at what I wrote. I'm surprised anyone stuck around; I hope things will be adequate from here on.

The next chapter will discuss Celeon's SSG and its drastic difference from the traditional SSG and Vegeta's Ultra Ego. If you want to visualize how Celeon's Super Saiyan Forms look, just think of OG Broly's Restricted SSJ. It's one of my favorite designs.

I have completed chapter 19. I'm just editing it over and having my friend proofread it; it will be out hopefully by Friday.

If anyone cares, I don't have Pa/tre/on simply because I probably won't commit to releasing chapters ahead and because I feel everyone shouldn't have to pay to read ahead. Everyone will see the chapter at once, but If you want to donate a dollar, I have Ko/fi.

it's Ko/fi/saurianmp4

just remove the / between the ko and fi.
