The Broken Boosted Gear

By Try Another Time

Slowly, the dragon began to open his eyes. His body felt well-rested as he tried to free himself from the grasp of the individual beside him.

"... Five more minutes." Exclaimed the sleeping beauty at his side as she pulled him closer to him.

Ddraig smiled as he moved his head to place a small kiss on her lips. "Yuki, come on. I need to go to take a shower."

"... No… you smell alright." Yukime said as she took his scent in. "Our scents are mixing, and I like that."

"Yuki, you know better than doing this. I need to-" Ddraig stopped as he noticed a strange sensation, as if something felt out of place. His eyes looked around until he noticed that the hands of the clock that hung from the wall weren't moving. "Yuki, get up. We have a problem."

"... No. I want to stay like this. You should be caring for me. I'm injured." Yukime said as she opened her eyes.

"Yuki, look at the clock," Ddraig says.

"What? The time? It should be right around 10-" Yukime quickly stopped as she saw the clock. It was marked 8:15 AM and not another second, as if time had stopped. "Gasper?"

The dragon shakes his head. "This wouldn't make sense. We are moving, and we know that unless we're in direct contact with him, we would also be affected." The dragon looks concerned as he tries to understand what is happening.

Yukime releases him before she feels the insane pain her injuries still cause her. She grabs her chest as the burning sensation of the deep cut caused by Susanoo reminds her of the grave state of her body. "Damn, this is going to be tough."

"Give me a moment." Ddraig stood up from the bed and removed all of his clothes.

Yukime's eyes bulge as she admires the muscular body of the dragon, even in his younger form. "Cute and appealing to the eyes. How can I not enjoy every moment?"

Once naked, Ddraig was enveloped by a small hurricane of green energy, which quickly stopped before revealing his adult form. The dragon puts all the clothes into storage before bringing out his Alliance uniform.

"Changing forms so easily might be your most useful ability. Nobody can tell your true age if you change your forms at the right moments." Yukime argues as she takes in all of his attributes. "Still appealing."

"Any dragon can learn how to do it once they are old enough, but I doubt many use it. Of all the dragons, Ophis is the only one that likes a child form; everyone else stays with adult forms. Tosca will likely do the same once she reaches adulthood. Being seen as a child won't fit her tastes." Ddraig says as he starts to put on his uniform.

"For your information, this form is what you said that fit me the best, so don't you dare say otherwise." A voice said before a portal opened, and Ophis appeared. "We have a problem, and I want it fixed."

"Time has stopped outside?" Ddraig asks without even facing her.

"Is not just time. Reality itself seems broken. I was waking up with Sona and Tsubaki before several space breaches appeared around us. They are both frozen in time as we speak." Ophis said with a concerned expression.

Ddraig turns to her. "Don't worry; we'll figure this out. Who else—" His question is quickly stopped as a magic circle appears next to his ear.

"Dear? Are you alright?" Tiamat asks with a serious tone.

"I am…. Are you the only one?" Ddraig asks as he finishes changing.

"No, Tosca and Gasper are with me. A few others are exploring Shangri La as we speak. I don't know who else can move." Tiamat replies.

"Is Gasper using his powers?" Yukime asks.

"He's trying, but he's unable to. Valerie, Kuroka, Aurora, and everyone else in our house are frozen. I can't contact almost anyone else besides you. Shiva, Gabriel, and Ereshkigal are at the center of Shangri La as we speak. Neither seems to know what is happening." Tiamat admits.

"Can this be an enemy attack?" Ophis asks as she tries to understand what is happening.

"If it is, we'll find the source of this problem right away," Ddraig assures the group. Then he turns to Yukime and offers her his hand. "I know it might be troublesome since you're injured, but it is best if we stay together."

Yukime smiles as she takes his hand. "I would be offended if you left me here."

"Alright, let's meet the others. I want things to return to normal as soon as possible. I don't enjoy not knowing what is happening around me." Ophis says as she opens a portal for them.

The mystery had just begun.

A few moments later.

The unaffected members of the Alliance met within the center of Shangri La while around them, everything else was frozen in time. The sky was covered in space breaches that led to an endless void.

It felt as if they were inside a broken mirror.

"Ddraig!" Gabriel waved at him as her group met with him. The seraph stopped her steps as she saw Yukime's beautiful face without the veil. "Wait, what happened to your veil?"

The hybrid smiles as she gives Ddraig a small kiss on the cheek. She was walking while leaning on her beloved for support. "What do you think?"

"Oh.. so you and him…. I'm happy for you." Gabriel said with a sincere smile on her face. "He finally gave you the answer you were looking for."

Yukime shakes her head. "This was just a confirmation of what we felt. We can talk about it once we figure this out."

"Right." Gabriel then turns to Ddraig. "Heaven is in the same state. Souls, Michael, everyone is frozen in time."

"My domain is also being affected. This was too sudden. I was just about to reach Hephaestus forge before this happened." Ereshkigal said while looking a bit stressed. "Can this be the work of our enemies?"

Ddraig turns to the god of Destruction for answers. "Was this on your visions?"

Shiva shakes his head. "No, this is as new to me as it is to you. It feels as if it is even beyond my knowledge or power. I can't even begin to see an answer to what is happening."

"Nii-sama!" A voice screams.

Ddraig turns to find the source of the voice running towards him at full speed. Gasper quickly hugs his waist as his teary eyes look up to him for answers. "What should we do? My powers aren't working! I can't help Valerie or anyone back home."

The dragon pats his head. "Is alright. You're not to be blamed. We'll figure out this thing together. Everything will go back to normal once we understand what's happening."

Gasper nods before he releases him.

"Old man."

"Dear."

The dragon raises his head to meet the last arrivals. Tiamat and Tosca approached the rest with concerned expressions.

"Nobody else?" The dragon asks.

Tosca shakes her head. "I can't even reach Isaiah or anyone. Tressa is not better, either. It seems as if we're the only ones unaffected."

"It's weird because this morning started like normal. There were no signs of enemies or a mysterious power," Tiamata adds. She glances at Yukime briefly before giving her a sneaky thumbs-up.

The small gesture doesn't go unnoticed by Yukime or Gabriel.

"Shall-" Ereshkigal stops as she feels a new presence.

The rest of the group also feels said presence and starts to look around until a new portal appears.

Three female figures make their way out from said portal as their figures seem to glitch out.

"This is wrong." The first was an older woman who appeared to be in her early 50s. A silver cloth covered her body. Her hair was starting to gray out.

"How did we drop our guard like this?" The second woman says, looking younger, as if in her early 30s. A red cloth covers her body, and her brown hair is still lustrous.

"Mistakes are made, but they shall fix this error." The third woman looks much younger than the other two. Lustrous black hair covers her face while a white cloth covers her body.

"The norn Sisters? What are you-" Shiva stops as a beam of light descends from the sky between the two groups.

Ddraig and his group cover their eyes as the light is too blinding.

"You damn bastard!" A feminine voice screams with anger before the group hears a scream filled with anguish. Other voices seemed to join her as they shouted insults to the screaming voice.

"Release me; I must change this fate of mine. I must see her again." The source of the scream continues to plead for his release.

"Urd, hold on. I'll remove this damn thing from you." A concerned masculine voice said.

Ddraig and his group uncovered their eyes only to be shocked by the sight before them.

A tall, green-haired girl dressed in a military uniform resembling Ddraig's continued pining a futuristic cyborg to the ground with her sharp-bladed tail. Her face seemed far more mature, and her aura exuded power. Her eyes quickly met those of Draig and the others.

"Tosca?" Ddraig asked as he saw the girl before him and the others.

"Sweetheart?" Tiamat joined in.

The young Tosca couldn't believe what she was seeing. "Is that me?"

The mysterious arrivals stopped moving as they met Ddraig and his group. None could understand what was taking place.

"Don't-" The black-haired woman didn't get to finish as two girls from this mysterious group rushed forward with tears in their eyes before they held onto the waist of the Welsh Dragon.

"Dad!" The girls screamed as they held him with all their strength. Both looked to be in their late teens.

They were dressed in beautiful dresses while everyone else wore similar attires to the ones needed for a ceremony.

The girl on his right had pale skin and deep red draconic eyes. Her appearance made him remember Elmenhilde.

The one on the left seemed to be a dragon. Lustrous silver hair reached her back. Her red/white horns and tail gave him a weird feeling as if they almost reminded him of….. Albion.

"Henrietta, Vienna, release him at once and turn back. We don't belong to this place and time." The injured black-haired woman said as she was held in the arms of a dragon with red/blue horns. This mysterious woman was an exact copy of the Norn Sister who stood not too far away but instead of being covered by a cloth, she was wearing a wedding dress.

"Urd, please don't die on me." The dragon said as he tried to remove a mysterious robotic claw buried deep within her chest. His face resembled Ddraig while holding eyes similar to Tiamat's.

"Careful, foolish husband of mine," Urd said as she bit her lip. The claw was connected to a lengthy cable that led to the cyborg's body.

"Isshin, let me help," a good-looking platinum-blonde male said as he approached the dragon. His face was too beautiful to be that of a male, but nonetheless, he was one. His deep red eyes glanced at Gasper briefly before he returned to help his ally. His hands worked fast as he tried to remove the claw from Urd's chest.

"But it is Dad! It has been so long since we saw him." The girl who resembled Elmenhilde said as she held onto Ddraig dearly.

"Henrietta is right. Come on, we missed him. You-" The mysterious female dragon didn't get to finish as a tall, serious man grabbed her and Henrietta before pulling them away from Ddraig.

He had short hair and a gruesome scar on his left cheek, but besides that, he had some charm. His eyes and hair resembled Yukime, while other parts of his body, such as his icy tail, which ended in a trident, resembled Ddraig. "We have no time for this. Listen to Urd-sama and stay away…" He stopped in his tracks. His eyes seemed almost to tear up as he met Yukime's gaze. "Mom…."

Yukime's heart almost sank as she heard such words from this mysterious man.

Another figure claps her hands to regain the group's attention. A holy aura surrounds her, and tiny white wings cover her eyes. Her golden hair has red strains throughout. A white halo sits on top of her head. "You heard Urd. We don't belong here. We need to go back." Her tone denotes a cheerful personality.

Gabriel feels connected to this mysterious girl but holds back her questions to avoid interfering.

A green-haired teen who stands at her side nods as his eyes look at the group. His irises are replaced by the symbol of a dragon's skull. A grey/green halo sits on his head while skeletal wings sprout from his back.

Ereshkigal held her breath as the boy turned to her. "... Son?"

The boy remained silent before covering his lips with a finger as if saying to stay silent.

The mysterious Tosca raises her hand before swiftly severing the connection between the cyborg and the claw attached to Urd. "Urd, how long would it take to get us home?"

"A few minutes." The uninjured Urd replies as she approaches her injured self. "This shouldn't have occurred. The unwritten future shouldn't come to meet the present. Once this is over, nobody will remember this. Take the time to say what you want, as this won't be anything but a dream."

"That means we can speak to Dad?" Vienna asked.

"Please." Henrietta pleaded.

"Do as you please. It will only be a dream after it ends." Present Urd explains.

Her future self glares at her. "They shouldn't."

"There's nothing to do but be lenient. You already broke the rules by marrying him," Present Urd said as she pointed her finger at the dragon holding her future self. "You're as charming as in my dreams."

"... No more than you," Isshin said with a blushing face.

Yukime and mysterious icy gallant.

Yukime felt uneasy as she sat on a bench alongside her "son." It felt so surreal to meet her future child, but her curiosity rose with each moment as the man said nothing.

"... So, your name is?" Yukie asks after seeing no advance.

"Yu. Yu Welsh. My father is…him." Yu points his finger at Ddraig, whom his cheerful daughters surround. "I'm gonna ground those two for a week once we get home."

"Yu…. as in gentleness…. I made the right choice." Yukime smiles as she takes this in. "You're my only child?"

Yu shakes his head. "Mio is my younger sister. She's back at the ceremony with the rest."

"Mio?... Is she cute like you?" Yukime asks.

Yu nods with visible excitement. "She resembles Dad in many ways, but she's cuter than me. She… misses you even if she's an adult."

"... Did I die?" Yukime asks with a concerned tone.

Yu shakes his head. "You, Dad, and the others are away. You are alive, but… we can't reach any of you. We missed having all of you around." Yu turns to future Tosca, who still keeps the prisoner pinned to the ground. "She has been leading us and the Alliance since then."

"Tosca? She does look mature." Yukime adds.

"She… had to. We all did, but we don't lose hope that you will all return to us." Yu looks within his suit's jacket before he pulls out a small photo. "This is your grandchild, Suichiro. He has wanted to meet you for as long as he can remember. I hope that it happens soon."

Yukime holds the photo in her hands, and as soon as she sees the small child in Yu's arms, she starts to tear up. "I'm a grandmother?"

"Almost everyone is. Isshin might be getting married now, but most of us have our own families. I'm close to 400 years by now." Yu says.

More questions arose within Yukime as she listened to her son.

Gabriel and the mysterious child from heaven.

Gabriel stood before the holy child to whom she felt connected. The girl smiled at her as she awaited Gabriel's move.

The Seraph took several deep breaths to find the will to ask her questions. "Your name is Alma, right?"

Alma reaches out before she can react and holds her hands. "You named me, so I would feel sad if you couldn't figure that out—true Goddess: Alma from Heaven, also known as the horsemen of Glory. My father… well, you already know that. He is the reason why all of us exist."

"Horsemen? As in Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Also, True Goddess?" Gabriel's concern arises with each second.

Alma shakes her head. "Don't worry, Mom. You'll get your answers when the time is right." Alma stands up before she embraces Gabriel. "Uncle Uriel misses you a lot, even though he doesn't say it. I also miss you. Solaire…. He has been trying to remain calm but misses you most. I wish he were here to see you."

Gabriel can't move an inch as she takes all this in. Her eyes tear up as she's overwhelmed by his daughter's words: "I… I… don't know what to say. I'm happy to know that I'm a mother, but did they accept-"

"Shhh, all pieces will come into place, Mom. Although some might opposed at first, everyone comes around." Alma replies as she hugs her mom. "All of heaven and the Alliance will await your return and his. I… missed you two."

Tiamat and Isshin.

"Isshin is your name, am I right?" Tiamat asks as she kneels in front of the married couple.

The dragon nods as he carefully helps future Urd to sit up. She had a nasty injury in her chest, but the damage was slowly disappearing. "Isshin Welsh is my name, mother. I'm your youngest child of fourth. This is my bride, Urd. I apologize for not waiting for your return for the ceremony, but… I wanted to spend my life with Urd."

Future Urd nods as she bows to Tiamat. "I believe this is the first time we have met in person, at least in this time period, Mother. We apologize for not waiting long enough, but even the power of my sisters and I can't say when you'll return."

Tiamat scratches her chin. "So I'm not present for my youngest wedding…. Am I a grandmother?"

Future Urd and Isshin look at each other before blushing. Isshin then speaks.

"You… are but is not from us." The dragon slowly raises his finger and points it at future Tosca. "Nee-sama became a mother first before any of my siblings. Isaiah-nii did have to fight Dad after he learned about the pregnancy, but we're planning on having children soon."

Future Urd pinches his cheek. "You don't have to say everything we're doing… I'm still a maiden, so do think about my feelings." She says before blushing.

Tiamat looks to the right, only to see the same reaction on the present Urd. "My, my, my daughter-in-law is such a shy girl. She's so cute. Isshin, I'm proud to know that you married such a wonderful girl. You have my blessing. I wish the best to you two."

"Thanks." The pair replies in unison.

"Then, what about your other siblings? You said you're the youngest." Tiamat continues.

"Miki and Iskandar? The twins? Well, they are…." Thus, Isshin continued as he spoke about his older siblings, who gained even more happy reactions from his mother.

Someone he missed a lot since that fateful day.

Gasper and Gasper F.

Present Gasper faced his older self. Neither showed emotions as they looked at each other.

"... You seemed tired." Present Gasper said as he noticed the minor dark circles under his eyes.

"This?" Future Gasper points at the circles. "Is nothing. It has only been a long week of preparations for this wedding, and I'm mad about that bastard interrupting it," The dhampir says as he glares at the cyborg.

"Who is him?" present Gasper asks.

"Someone you'll learn to despise as much as Tosca and the rest. He is the reason why…. Albion is no more." Future Gasper says with a saddened expression.

"We… lost?" His present self asks.

"We… won many conflicts, but there were sacrifices along the way. We tried our best, and even though they are no more, we haven't forgotten them." Future Gasper kneels before his present self. "You have a long way to go, but you'll get there. Never lose sight of Valerie because we promised Nii-sama to keep her safe from all danger. No matter how bad it gets, you can always get up. You're stronger than you think, so don't fear letting out what lies inside."

Present Gasper touches his chest. "... What lies inside?"

"The other side of you. He's you as much as you're him. It's like the two sides of a coin, so don't fear it. Embrace it and protect our home. Elmenhilde-nee-sama put her all into restoring our home, so our task is to protect that realm alongside Henrietta and Diego." Future Gasper continues.

"That's Henrietta?" Present Gasper points his finger at the young girl, who happily chats with Ddraig.

"Yes, she's our niece alongside Diego. She might seem weak, but she's as strong as Tosca. Never judge a book by its cover," Future Gasper replies calmly.

"... So we're still protecting Valerie. I'm glad to know that we never separated." Present Gasper admits.

"How could we?" A dark smirk creeps his way into his face. "We promise that we won't let her be injured or hurt. She is our precious wife."

"..." Present Gasper blushes. "So, we did get married?"

"Totally." His future self replies before he continues to tease his present self. "We also have two daughters with her. Want to see?"

The younger Gasper nods as his eyes are filled with wonder.

Ereshkigal and the silent voice.

Ereshkigal didn't know how to approach the issue as she faced her future son. His face showed no emotion, and he remained silent even though the others interacted with the rest of the children.

"... I don't know how to approach you. I can't communicate with you." Ereshkigal began. "Did I do something to you?"

The teen shakes his head.

"Then why can't you speak? Was I a bad mother?"

She received another no before he raised his finger. A small green flame appeared on said finger before he touched her head.

Thousands of memories invaded her as he recalled his whole life for her. Ereshkigal couldn't help but teared up as the connection stopped. "Nabu? Short for Nebuchadnezzar III? I named you that?"

Nabu nods.

"You're the horsemen of Death? A being with a voice that can force its will on any target?"

Nabu nods once more.

"... And you're happy with the life we gave you?"

Nabu nods again before he hugs her.

"... I'm sorry for leaving you. I…."

Nabu shakes his head. "... I miss you."

Ereshkigal cries even more as he softly whispers, "You've grown into a fine god, my child. I'm so proud."

Nabu didn't show his emotions, but deep inside, he was deeply moved by hearing and meeting her after so long, regardless of whether this was just going to be a dream bound to be forgotten. "Eury and I await your return with a surprise."

Ereshkigal stopped moving as she heard these words. "You're going to be a parent?"

Nabu nods as he tries to smile, but his face is not very suited for showing his emotions, so it ends with a creepy try.

Ereshkigal laughs as she sees this. "You don't need to try so hard. Is fine, Nabu."

Mother and child continued to share memories together.

Ddraig, Henrietta and Vienna.

The dragon was still shocked by the sight before him as he tried to take it all in. "All of you are my children?"

Henrietta nods. "We are, but not everyone is here. Tosca-nee-sama took the lead when the ceremony of Isshin-kun was attacked."

"We followed her and got sucked by this weird pillar of light. We never dreamed of reaching the past like this." Vienna joins in.

"So, he was getting married to her?" Ddraig asks, pointing his finger at Isshin.

Vienna nods. "He took a long time to figure out his feelings for her. The other Norns sisters didn't approve of it at first, but they came around after seeing how well they connected to each other. It was such an amazing wedding, but it would have been better if you and Mom were there."

Ddraig examines Vienna from head to toe before asking the big question. "... Your mother is the Vanishing Dragon? How is that possible?"

Vienna shakes her head. "Mom is not Albion but his successor. Before Albion's death, he passed all his power to his successor, thus making her the next Vanishing Dragon. She promised not to leave your side when she took over for Albion, and she has never regretted that promise."

Her eyes shone with the same glint as those of Albion.

Ddraig's chest hurt as he learned about the death of Albion, but there was nothing he could do.

Vienna grabs his right hand. "Mom told me that it hurt a lot to see him pass away, but you accepted it. The Welsh dragon and the Vanishing dragon will always stand together; that's what Mom said, and she followed you to the end of the world as she promised—to even the lands beyond our skies."

Henrietta grabs his left hand. "And so did my Mom after she restored her homeland. She couldn't fight but still followed you alongside the rest. Our mothers promised never to leave you, so they went along while leaving us behind. It was sad, but all of you promised to return from that endless voyage into the skies beyond our own." Her head turns to Ophis, who is watching everything from the sidelines. "Even she followed you."

Ddraig turns to Ophis. He can see her confusion, as she doesn't know what to make up for all this. "She…"

"She will come around. Once the time comes, she'll grow out of that shelf. She belonged with us. Her home was always within reach, and it took a while for her to understand it, but she did in the end. Don't lose hope, Dad," Vienna says as she smiles from ear to ear.

Her words made him feel peaceful as some of his fears seemed to vanish. "... I'm glad to know I have so many wonderful children. So who's the youngest."

"We are. We were born on the same day." The girls say as they point at each other. "That's why we're always together."

"I see." The dragon pats their heads as he sees the cheerful expression in their faces. "Everything will be alright."

"Wait, but wasn't Kuroka-mama pregnant when she left with Dad?" Henrietta argues.

"Right, so we won't be the youngest for too long," Vienna says. "Rias-mama also seemed to have morning sickness at that time. Roy might not be a single child for long."

"You think? What about Raynare-mama? She seemed determined not to let Vivianne-nee be a single child," Henrietta continues.

"Yasaka-mama might also surprise us. Kunou-nee might be happy about having another sibling," Vienna added.

The girls went on and on as they mentioned many names of his future brides.

"... I have that many brides?" Ddraig asks with a confused expression.

The pair nods. "There are several Mamas in our family, like with Grandpa-Tannin. You practically became a full-time dad after the first of us were born. Raynare-mama and Aurora-mama are the ones that help you the most."

Vienna reaches into her pocket dimension before pulling a photo out. "This is all of our siblings and you in one photo."

Ddraig grabs the photo and sees the many children he will father in the future. He almost breaks into tears as he sees all of their smiles. He could tell who were some of their mothers, but a few of his children were harder to pinpoint as many had far more characteristics close to his than their own mothers. To his surprise, Kunou is also in the photo, which only means….

So many questions arose within him as he saw so many children, but he had to hold back from asking as this would only hurt even more when it came to an end.

This wonderful dream wasn't meant to last.

The two Toscas.

"Are you going to stay on the sidelines, or are you going to approach me?" Future Tosca asked as she sat on the ground, using her tail to keep the cyborg under control.

"... I don't know if I should ask." Present Tosca said.

Future Tosca shakes her head. "Was I such a scared kitty cat?"

Present Tosca glares at her future self. "I'm not scared of you…. I don't know what to ask and even if I should."

"I should-" A quick punch from Future Tosca shuts off the cyborg as pieces of his metal mandible were sent flying.

"Silence, Cao Cao. I'm trying to talk to myself." The older dragon faces her younger self again. "Look, our siblings and Gasper already broke the rules. Let's just enjoy this dream while it lasts. Go ahead and ask what you want," Future Tosca said.

"Really?"

"Anything. Suit yourself. Is not as if this will affect the present."

"Well, did Isaiah and I?"

Future Tosca nods as she pulls out the Jade pendant that her grandparents gave her. A small ring sat alongside it. "I don't usually wear it in my fingers because I tend to transform too much. Uncle Hephaestus claims that it won't get damaged, but I fear the worst."

Present Tosca claps excitedly as she sees the ring. "Yes!"

Future Tosca shakes her head. "Did you truly think he was going to leave us? We survived so that we could stand by each other. Even if Dad beat him up when he got me pregnant before even asking for his blessing, Isaiah has never left my side. We stand together even now when Dad is not around. He also acts as a good house husband when he cares for Midas."

"Midas?"

"Our son. Want to see a picture?"

Present Tosca nods as she approaches her Future self, who has already pulled a small photo from her storage.

The young child in the photo had mixed-colored hair while two small pointy horns almost pierced his father's left eye.

"We look happy."

"The happiest we've been." Future Tosca looks at the space breach above. "Many challenges will come your way, and you might feel unable to match Dad's might, but you will succeed. He might not always be around because of many things, but he always comes back. When he is away, just remember who you are. You're the daughter of the strongest and most caring dragon of all. Stand proud, and don't let bastards like this get their way."

Future Tosca points her finger at Cyborg Cao Cao.

"I just want to change my fate." Cyborg Cao Cao screams. "If I could only-"

"I told you many times over the years to accept what happened. You made mistakes that can't be fixed. You're not getting that spear back; even if you did, it would always end the same way. The spear had its own will, and that will choose its path. You asked me if I was strong because of who my father was when we fought for the first time, and I told you that I was strong because I trained until my body couldn't keep up with Athena-sama. You played to be a hero; I sought to protect the Alliance like Dad has always done. We're not the same." Future Tosca says.

Present Tosca watches the interaction with interest in what had taken place between the pair.

"Is he your rival?"

"This idiot can't ever be my rival. I don't respect him, but he knows it. A bastard who couldn't move past his stupid, faulty ideals could never be my rival." Future Tosca points her finger at Vienna. "If anything, her mom became my rival and friend. We fought together and grew stronger as her predecessor and our Dad did. It was akin to fate as I, the daughter of the Welsh Dragon, fought alongside the successor of the Vanishing Dragon. Always together until the very end."

"...Vali?"

Future Tosca nods. "She changed a lot after we lost Albion, but it was for the best. If you can take anything from this, remember these words for her sake: Let go of the hate and embrace the present. She'll understand."

Present Tosca nods as she feels that it is now her task to help the current host of the Vanishing Dragon.

The time of departure.

*Dearly Beloved- Kingdom Hearts Ost*

Shiva and the Norns shared a few words amongst themselves before breaking off.

As he met his team once more, he shook his head. "This will only be a dream that we're going to forget. They are from a future that has yet to be written by us."

Ddraig and the rest look disappointed in not being able even to remember this touching experience.

Future Tosca and her team seemed fine with this result as they faced it: "We were never meant to be here. This is your time, and ours lies farther away in the future. We'll meet when the time is right."

"We know," Ddraig said as he faced his future daughter. "... I hope ourselves from the future do return in time."

Future Tosca nods. "I know you will, Dad. You have a tendency to return at the right time when we need you the most." Future Tosca turns to Tiamat. "Mom, I hope to see you again soon. You need to show me many photos from your voyage with Dad."

Tiamat tears up as she listens to her adult daughter. "I know my future self will be pleased to hear those words. Take care, my child."

The other future children wave their hands as their parents hold their tears back.

With a blinding flash, everything is readjusted, and an event that wasn't supposed to take place comes to an end.

Countdown:... Restored.

Authors notes:
