Book 8: The Interdimensional Traveler

Chapter 1: A New Beginning in Another Dimension

Another Dimension

As the alien floated ahead and ventured into the unknown, it slowly recalled its previous memories. It was revealed that the alien is named Magolor, an Interdimensional Traveler who left his original home aboard an ancient starship known as the Lor Starcutter to seek out a powerful artifact called the Master Crown.

During the voyage however, the starship crashed onto Planet Popstar in the world of Dream Land with parts of the ship scattered across the planet. Fortunately, Magolor found help consisting of Kirby, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, and Meta Knight. With their help, they were able to recover and repair the damaged starship, allowing them to travel to a world called Halcandra which is where the Master Crown is located and guarded by Landia, a four-headed guardian dragon.

But then, after Landia is defeated, Magolor betrayed his allies and took the Master Crown for himself to conquer the universe, starting with Planet Popstar, even using the Lor Starcutter against them. But what Magolor didn't know is that the Master Crown is actually a cursed artifact, having a mind of its own that devours souls of the wearers, which is exactly what happened to Magolor the moment he wore the cursed crown as it took control of the alien's body and mind.

Fortunately, Kirby and his friends, along with assistance from Landia, were able to defeat the Master Crown, freeing Magolor from its grasp. He was supposed to die after the Master Crown's defeat, and yet, he's still among the living, but in a weakened state with most of his powers locked.

"...So that's what happened to me." Magolor though before looking at his hands. "I never knew that the Master Crown contained something very evil despite having incredible power. I thought I was in control, but instead, it controlled me, and I was powerless to stop it. But despite its power, Kirby and his friends are able to defeat it, which I'm glad that they did. But…" Magolor looked down with his eyes closed in guilt. "Why am I still alive… after what I did to them? I should've died along with the Master Crown as punishment. I see no point for me to redeem myself. If I do get out of this dimension and see Kirby and his friends again… will they still accept my forgiveness even after I betrayed them? …What should I do…?" His trail of thought was put to a halt when he opened his eyes after hearing loud noises in the distance. "Hmm… that does not sound like the small creatures I saw on Planet Popstar. I'd better take a look and find out." Afterwards, he floated towards the source of the loud noises up ahead.

"Okay, I was not expecting our landing to be in this unknown dimension." Cure Starlight said as she and her teammates observed their surroundings with the Zi-O Liner parked close to them.

"Yeah, this is definitely not Dream Land nor Planet Popstar." Regina said.

"What kind of dimension are we in anyway?" Kiana questioned.

"Who knows." Kanade shrugged. "But maybe we'll find a Gjallarhorn fragment here, so I guess we'll be staying here for a while."

"Assuming this dimension is stable." Maria stated.

"But if not, we're heading back into the Zi-O Liner and leaving this place." Zi-O said. "Himeko's already inside watching the train while we do our job."

Magolor had already arrived at the location and watched them from behind a broken pillar. "Who are they?" Magolor thought. "They don't look like inhabitants from Planet Popstar. And that train… Is that how they're able to travel to this dimension? Fascinating… I wish I could ask them about it, but… what should I say? I can't reveal my past so soon or else they'll reject me. So maybe…"

"Seele, I'm sensing someone nearby." Veliona spoke to Seele mentally.

"Hm?" Seele responded and looked around, until he saw the alien peeking behind the broken. "An… alien?"

"Oof, I'm discovered!" Magolor mentally panicked before sighing. "Oh well, no point running away. Time for me to greet them." He then moved out of his hiding spot and waved. "Um… hello."

His greeting garnered everyone's attention. "Is that an alien?" Kiana asked.

"Sure looks like one." Seele replied. "Also, it looks cute."

"Uh… I'm not that cute." Magolor replied back. "...Okay, maybe a little cute."

"What's your name?" Regina asked.

"It's Magolor, I'm an interdimensional traveler."

Zi-O and Starlight's eyes widened in shock upon hearing a familiar name. "Wait, Magolor?! The one from Kirby's Return to Dreamland?! Why is he here?! And…" Starlight thought before noticing the alien's tattered robe and dull colors. "What the heck happened to him? He's like he's been beaten to a pulp. Granted, he did betray Kirby and his friends for the Master Crown near the end of the story, but…"

"An interdimensional traveler? Well what a coincidence, because we happened to be dimensional travelers too!" Kanade smiled. "I'm Kanade, and this is Maria, Regina, Kiana, Seele, Zi-O and Starlight."

"Nice to meet you, Magolor." Regina greeted.

"O-Oh! Likewise." Magolor greeted back.

"What happened to your robe?" Maria asked, noticing the alien's attire. "Did something happen to you earlier?"

"Yes… and it was painful. I got into a battle with a powerful monster and lost. Good news is that I'm still alive, despite my attire being a mess afterwards. Bad news is that I've lost most of my powers. The ones I currently have are… not that great." Magolor demonstrated by launching a weak magic projectile and levitated high above the group for about three seconds before quickly descending and panted in exhaustion. "...See?"

"Damn. That sucks." Zi-O thought after seeing Magolor's weak display. "That powerful monster, I think it must be the Master Crown that took over Magolor. I'm surprised he's still alive after being defeated, albeit now having weaker powers. Now that I think about it, does Kirby give former bad guys a chance to redeem themselves like how he did in Kirby Star Allies? …Wait, he probably does not have that Friend Heart ability since this timeline is probably after Kirby's Return to Dreamland. If that's the case…"

"Huh, you're right. But at least it's better than nothing." Kiana remarked. "You know a way to get your powers back?"

"Well, there is one way. Magic points I got from defeating enemies." Magolor answered. "I've defeated a few of them before meeting you guys."

"Magic points, huh?" Starlight mused, until she sensed something coming. "...We got company, and in the hostile kind."

And soon enough, monsters appeared through several star-shaped rifts in the form of Darpas and Dupas, the former looking like small, purple butterfly-like creature with a small appendage on its head, and the latter looking like a greenish-cyan egg-shaped creature with feet and three small feathers on its head. And both of them have angry yellow eyes.

"Darpas and Dupas. Beings from the Another Dimension." Magolor observed as the team prepared themselves.

"Another Dimension?" Seele repeated.

"That's the place we're currently in right now. And as for these two species, they're not so tough, but try not to get careless. The ones you should really watch out for are the Sphere Doomers."

"Sphere Doomers, huh? We'll keep that in mind." Kanade noted. "For now though, time for us to clean house."

"Can you still fight, Magolor?" Regina asked.

"I think I'll step back for a while." Magolor said, moving backwards. "I wanna see how you guys fare in a fight. Oh, but remember to give me the magic points afterwards."

"No problem. This won't take long. Let's go, Kanade!" Maria replied as she and Kanade immediately sprang into action. Maria then launched her whip-sword at the Darpas, quickly eliminating them in multiple angles.

EMPRESS†REBELLION

Kanade quickly followed up by throwing her spear to the sky as it unleashed a storm of energy spears onto the Darpas and Durpas.

STARDUST∞FOTON

"Whoa. These two are good. Really good." Magolor thought while observing the two Attuned.

"Well that didn't take long." Kiana said before noticing the floating blue magic orbs that appeared after the monsters were defeated. "Hey Magolor, are those the magic points that you mentioned?"

"Yup, those are definitely it." Magolor nodded, moving close to the magic points as the orbs went into his body. "Ah… that felt good. Not much to get all of my powers back, but it's a start."

"Then we'll just have to deal with more enemies to get more of those magic points." Regina said.

"Hm?" Starlight sensed something else coming. "I think you're about to get your wish!"

And like clockwork, another creature appeared from the star-shaped rift. It looked like a Darpa, but slightly bigger but in a reddish-pink color and three appendages on its head arranged in a crest-like manner.

"That's a Dippa!" Magolor recognized before moving back. "It's one of the stronger creatures, but I think you guys can still take it down!"

"Mind if sis and I take this one?" Zi-O requested as he and Cure Starlight stepped forward.

"Go right ahead." Seele replied.

"Come on, you floating nonsense!" Starlight taunted the Dippa with a "Come get some" hand gesture, causing it to fire projectiles at the two, but said projectiles were quickly destroyed by Starlight's energy sword before retaliating onto the creature with an X-slash. "Starlight Sphere!" After rotating her PreBrace several times, she launched an energy sphere from her hand, trapping the Dippa inside.

"Time for you to go." Zi-O declared, pushing the Zi-O Ridewatch button, slammed the tilt button and gave it a 360 spin.

=FINISH TIME!=

Pink katakanas for 'Kick' circled around the trapped Dippa while Zi-O leaped high into the air with a front flip. Once Zi-O lunged his right foot forward, the katakanas slammed onto the foot as it glowed pink.

=TIME BREAK!=

And with one powerful Rider Kick from Zi-O, the trapped Dippa was eliminated with an explosion on contact while the Rider landed safely, dusting off his foot before standing up. "Okay, that's that." He concluded as he looked at the explosion subsiding. "...Hm?" He then noticed something appearing after the explosion subsided, a small glowing fragment that's the shape of a sliced green apple. "An apple?" He approached the fragment as it floated onto his hand.

"Huh, interesting." Magolor mused as they took a closer look at the fragment. "Never seen something like this during my travels."

"Neither did we." Regina said. "But something tells me that this is no ordinary apple slice."

Suddenly, the apple fragment glowed brightly, causing a large star-shaped rift to appear.

"More enemies?" Kiana asked.

"I don't think so." Seele replied. "I… think we can go into this one."

"Probably because of this apple fragment." Zi-O assumed, looking at the fragment. "It must've created this rift when I grabbed it."

"So what now?" Maria asked.

"Let's use the Zi-O Liner to go into that rift." Zi-O answered. "Better than leaving the train here, that's for sure."

"You're coming too, Magolor." Kanade said.

"Wait, me?" Magolor pointed at himself in surprise.

"Well yeah, we can't exactly leave you here. Plus we need to gather those magic points so you can regain your powers." Regina stated. "Zi-O, Starlight, you two okay with this?"

Zi-O and Starlight shared looks at each other for a brief moment, thinking about what Regina said. Afterwards they turned to the group and nodded. "Sure, he can come along." Starlight decided.

"Thank you for the kind gratitude!" Magolor replied cheerfully. "Well then, let's be off, shall we?"

Once the team and Magolor entered the Zi-O Liner, the train quickly sped through the created rift before it vanished.

After speeding through the rift, the train then stopped at a new location which consisted of some kind of altar with five unlit torches near a pedestal. The team got out of the train and observed the area.

"Hm, so this is where that rift led us to." Himeko observed. "Some kind of altar?"

The team approached the altar and saw a stone inscription nearby. "Let's see here…" Kiana took a closer look at the inscription and read it. "'Ethereal Altar…' That's all it says."

"I guess this is where we are now." Zi-O deduced while still holding the apple fragment. Suddenly, the fragment floated out of his hand and rested atop the pedestal, causing the fragment to glow and one of the torches to light up in green flames. Not only that, it also caused Magolor to glow green briefly which surprised the group.

"Magolor?" Regina asked.

"This power… I can feel it…" Magolor said, looking at his hands glowing with light and summoned a small dark blue magical bomb that exploded. "My Magical Bomb! It's back!"

"So that's it…" Starlight mused, looking at Magolor. "That apple fragment somehow regained your lost ability. And since there's five torches, there's five apple fragments that we need to find before all of your powers are restored."

"Sounds about right." Magolor nodded as the glow faded.

"So one down and four more to go?" Kanade guessed, earning a nod from Starlight.

"Thanks, guys." Magolor said with gratitude. "With this, I can finally get my powers back. And after that… well… actually I'm not sure what I'm going to do after that."

"Well, it's too soon for you to think about that, so let's just focus on getting one fragment at a time." Himeko stated.

"Yeah, good point there." Magolor nodded.

"Alright, so from this point on, this will be our main hub for the Zi-O Liner to park while we go hunting for those apple fragments." Zi-O declared. "And maybe a Gjallarhorn fragment if possible."

"How about we bring a team of four for this excursion?" Kiana suggested. "Though Magolor needs to be in the party so he can absorb those magic points."

"Okay, I can agree to that." Starlight nodded.

"Hey guys, look!" Seele pointed at another star-shaped rift up ahead. "Maybe we can start looking for the next apple fragment there."

"Then that's our next move." Zi-O noted. "Magolor, how about you come with me and Starlight for this next one?"

"Wait, just you two?" Magolor questioned. "Shouldn't you bring at least one more member since we need a team of four?"

"True, but not for this one. I think three people are more than enough to tackle this." Zi-O replied.

"Alright, if you insist."

"Best of luck in there! We'll stay here and watch over the place!" Kiana waved to the three.

"We'll be back soon! Count on it!" Starlight replied as she, Zi-O and Magolor entered the rift to search for the next apple fragment.

"Hmm…" Veliona hummed from Seele's mind.

"What is it, Veliona?" Seele mentally asked.

"I've been wondering what kind of powerful monster that Magolor fought that nearly killed him. Could that being still be out there?"

Seele quietly gasped in shock. "I think you're right. If that's the case, then we'll make sure that monster never lays a single finger on him."

"Depends on if we can defeat it, that is." Veliona stated.

"Guess we'll have to wait and see. And hopefully help Magolor regain all of his abilities before it arrives." Seele replied while staring at the rift.

Author's Note: And so begins Magolor's road to redemption, and by the end of this Book, he will get all of his powers back. And as for what happens after that, well you'll just gonna have to wait and see.

For this adventure, it will be a team of four to keep things simple. Everyone will get a chance to shine as the story goes on.
