A/N: A shout out to all of my readers. I am sorry that my updating has been so sporadic lately. My schedule has been a bit crazy and I have not had as much time to write as I would like.

Chapter 14

"Oh boy," Kara said after Diana explained everything that she had learned. The older woman had called her the minute she was out of the ARGUS facility.

"Indeed. I worry that the longer Mary stays under the spell, she'll be even harder to free from it. If Marie has been given the same treatment… She is strong, she is an Amazon is almost every sense, but if she tries to help Mary… Worse still, Agent Smith has been pulled into all of this. They could be using him for the gods know what or worse. I don't like any of this little one, not at all," Diana admitted.

"Me neither. Nyssa and Kelly are heading down to Obsidian North right now. I'm having M'gann go with them… though not as herself…" Kara explained.

"Kate Kane making a surprise entrance huh?" Diana couldn't help but smirk.

"Yes. Maybe her presence will make this Matt make a mistake. Though, I also have Alex and some former DEO agents, ready to pounce, if need be. Meanwhile, ARGUS got back to us. They were able to identify most of the people in the car that took Marie. None of them were Enigma or Rebecca Burke. However, the bulk of them were definitely part of other criminal organizations. Some of them were former members of the Many Arms of Death – that seems to be a recurring theme," Kara explained.

"Lovely. Has Lena increased her security over at L Corp?" Diana wondered.

"Lena is working on it right now. Brainy is helping her find any holes. That leaves me, J'onn, and Nia to protect the city. NCPD was given a tip that someone at the hotel by the waterfront may have murdered that poor man in the water," Kara said.

"Ah and what did they find?" Wonder Woman wanted to know.

"Evidence that the crew we are looking for skipped out and had left their hotel room a mess. The good news is that they left DNA and fingerprints all over the place so NCPD might be able to pull in the FBI or Interpol on outstanding warrants for our criminals. So now there are more people on the case and searching for them as well," the blonde told her.

"The only downside would be that if Mary gets scooped up…" Diana trailed off.

"Her missing person's report is still on file. When they run her prints or name then it'll pop in the system as such. No one has officially labeled her as a criminal. I know that we're trying to keep Marie's identity a secret so I spoke to Lyla. She has issued a missing person's report for her but as a missing ARGUS agent, no next of kin, which will be kept a secret between us and Lyla. Only the FBI, CIA, and fellow ARGUS agents will know if they find her prints or DNA anywhere. Otherwise, she just pops up as a missing person to local police precincts. We did the same for Agent Smith – we honestly don't know if he has any kin, there wasn't any mentioned in his DEO file. Anyway, this will allow their more secret identities to be safe and if they are found, they will not be treated as criminals. I would hate for us to find them and have something bad happen to them because the local PD got overzealous," Kara hoped that it wouldn't upset the Amazon.

"You've done well, little one. We've got half the planet looking out for them in case they leave National City. I thank you for keeping our connection secret," Diana was glad that Kara handled the situation and that she'd done so with such tact. That's when she heard an alarm going on in the background of the phone call. Kara quickly said goodbye and hung up. The Amazon hoped that everything was all right.

"What's going on?" Kara asked J'onn who was manning the computers.

"We've got a sighting downtown! It's Marie!" J'onn zoomed in the nearby CCTV camera and his jaw practically hit the floor. Kara could see by his reaction that it wasn't good.

"Where is she?" The blonde wanted to know.

"She's standing in the middle of traffic and I don't think it's because she wants to. We've got to go!" J'onn hurried from the desk and headed for the balcony with Supergirl right behind.
