Chapter Six
Meanwhile…
The Craftsman…
Charlie and Alan were watching a movie, though they were barely paying attention to the thing, as they were still thinking about the situation at the FBI.
Don has talked to them about the tension between Colby and David and he is trying to be sympathetic to the both of them, but David is really making it difficult for him as both their friend and their boss.
Charlie was growing impatient with David, as the agent's behavior was really irritating, even if he did initially understand why the man was upset.
'Can't he see that Colby made huge sacrifices to catch people who would have caused great damage to the US' Charlie thought to himself
Both of the men were also worried about Don, as he just looked tired, though slightly less so when Colby was proven innocent but the situation was still weighing on him.
Before either of them could speak the quiet part loudly, the phone rang, getting them out of the their minds as Alan rushed to answer the phone,
As the Eppes patriarch listened to Megan, he grew pale, which alarmed Charlie, as they had all been through a lot already and they didn't need anything else right now.
"Dad? What is going on?" Charlie asked nervously
"It's Don, Megan said that something had happened during an interview with a witness and now he's missing and Colby is seriously injured."
Charlie had to catch his breath, as the fact that Don was missing could mean the worst but he really didn't want to think about what that could mean.
Not to mention one of his good friends is seriously hurt, again after barely surviving being tortured not more than two months ago.
He also started to feel anger towards David, because the man still refused to even talk to Colby about the whole incident and now there might be no chance for either of them to make amends, though Charlie is no more determined for it to happen.
He only had to get sense back into David and he still had no idea how to do so and if Colby would be still willing to accept anything from David.
They just had to make sure that Colby survived and Don rescued before they could even begin a reconciliation.
