Awwww, RJ climbed into bed with me last night. He must've had nightmares from whatever he saw in that virtual reality future but the good thing is we're good plus he hugged me and Mini Groot's sound asleep in his flowerpot but what would Shocket want him to do, joun the Avengcoons.
It was morning on Wondergore and Rocket's eyes had fluttered open feeling a lump beside him in his bed and smiled seeing it was his littler prince guessing he couldn't sleep after an adventure in the cosmic playpen involving the future had scared him but he was spending time on Wondergore with his dad and lil prince and Herbert had caught him up on things but right now, his stomach was hungry and firstly, he had to pee getting up gently as not to wake RJ up or Mini-Groot as they needed their sleep to grow big and strong.
"Now for breakfast, and wonder if RJ's hungry. The kit sleeps like a furry log which is cute like his snoring but help him and Mini-Groot bond. RJ bud you hungry, want sone breakfast." he said in a gentle tone hearing a snort as reply making Rocket chuckle as he left his room making Herbert smile while making coffee seeing Kerry at the table which confused him scratching his chin which Herbert remembered him doing when trying to figure things out. "Mr Rocket, Eric, RJ and Chance sleep during the day remember but they have brunch. Didn't Herbie tell you they're vampires." she told him.
"Yep, my dad told me, right now RJ's in my bed." Rocket told her making Herbert smile at his crown-prince's answer. He knew that adventure in the playoen yesterday had made RJ realise how good it was to just beca kid despite being the most powerful five year old but also that he loved his dad which had made Rocket happy after RJ had hugged him like a bear which had been sweet and took a photo
"I have an audience with Wondergore's subjects answering their questions, addressing concerns but you wanna come. They'll be so happy seeing you." Rocket heard Herbert say.
"Sure pops, I see they've missed me from the murals and the shrine." Rocket said drinking coffee while eating breakfast impressing Kerry knowing RJ would be missing this. "He'll find out later plus we'll tell him at dinner as he and Mini-Groot need their rest to grow." Rocket said putting his dishes in the sink going to get reasy putting his crown on.
"I'll be back later buddy. Love you." he told RJ kissing his furry head seeing a smile in sleep which was melting his heart leaving his room making Herbert wonder what was making him smile as he told him. "Awwww he loves you, you know that like me with you." he told him as they left the house making Kerry smile. "Such a good daddy." she said going to the playroom seeing R3playing with action figures happy to see her.
"RJ's asleep along with Eric and Chance right. And daddy with big hro Rockie went out to do grownup things." he said seeing her nod seeing the star-kit smile that she was here suggesting theyhave an adventure in the cosmic playpen making Kerry frown. "R3 that's not such a good Idea after yesterday. Let's just stay here and play, alright." she said seeing R3 his starlight dim a lil meaning he was sad making Kerry guess it was because of RJ She was unaware that Herbert was putting the star-kit in pre-school something he wasn't sure about.
Around lunchtime, RJ began to stir as he was hungry realising his dad wasn't there but Mini-Groot was awake just as confused making him guess hewanted gis dad too picking up the flowerpit gently finding the twiglike sapling cute but heard upset noises. "It's okay Mini-Groot maybe Grabdpa Herbie's here. He neve leaves us unsupervised." he reassured the sapling knowing from his dad, Groots loved music finding the Zune putting it on as the music was relaxing them hearing the door open making RJ jumpy stunning Rocket but impressed he'd calmed Mini-Groot down hearing him yawning sensing he'd been anxious. "It's okay buddy as I was just helping Herbie with stuff but thank you for taking care of Mini-Groot for me as he was scared too." Rocket said.
"I-I thought you'd never come back and that it was my fault." RJ told him hugging Rocket along with Mini-Groot making Rocket's heart hurt feeling tears well but wiped them away before they leaked seeing RJ go to the kitchen with messy whiskers which bothered Kerry and Herbert as they got like that when he was anxious or frazzled making Herbert get it, after Rocket told him.
"It seems that adventure might have emotionally scarred him. We should help him but you being here is helping." he told Rocket. "Yeah it is but poir kit but we can hang out." he said seeing RJ eating a big bowl of Count Chockula which he foundcute seeing him eat messily handihg him a napkin which Herbert was relieved. "I think he needs help learning about manners like me at that age." Rocket whispered to him feeling his comm vibrate going to take the call seeing RJ being distracted by Chance and Eric making Kerry understand as she squeezed his paw gently.
"It's okay buddy, as he's coming back." Herbert assured him as Mini-Groot was drinking milk but RJ was quiet which surprised them because normally, he was chatty. "I'm good." he repkied to them
