AN: Hello!! Things have been absolutely chaos for me for the kast few money including surgery and starting a new job, but I know how much you guys have been wanting more ShotoxKagome so here is a fluffly chapter with just them! Ive been getting terrible writers block left and right so hopefully this lives up to expectations!! Thank you!

This was completely new to Shoto. Being a comfort for another person, yet with her it was like second nature. He knew she needed him, had been calling for him, and despite knowing she could handle herself; he wanted to be her guardian as he was assigned. Kagome is one of, if not the, strongest person he knows besides the Pro heroes. The way she fought was miles beyond her years and seemed other worldly. How she know the demons or holding her ground against them still had him floored. Kagome was such a a mystery to him, he couldn't help but feel drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

Kagome calms completely against him, the gentle rocking combined with Shoto playing with her hair was enough of a distraction to soothe her. "I don't know if I can do it," her weak voice barely reaches his ears. "I can't keep this up, I'm not strong enough for this." Shoto couldn't understand her words; not after seeing how hard she fought in the sports festival, how hard she fought against the villains, how hard she fought to get her memory back after getting back, or how hard she fought to be where she is now. He didn't know how to react, didn't know the right words to say to make everything better for her. He didn't know and he desperately wanted to. So he does the only thing he can and holds her. He rests his head on top of hers and listens to her without judgement.

"I can't keep hiding and lying. I shouldn't be a hero, I don't deserve to be." Her tears spring forth once more, breaking Shoto's a heart further. He couldn't understand why her pain caused him to ache. From the moment he had met her, everything in his life had started to change and he was feeling things he had never encountered before. Yet her saying she didn't deserve to be a hero was something he wouldn't stand for. "Im going to drop ou-"

"Stop." He finally speaks up. "Stop saying things that aren't true." He couldn't look at her, his heart hammering in his chest from the anger rising in him. "If you are hiding, then tell me where you are, if you are lying then tell me the truth when you are safe." He didn't understand his own words, but they felt like the right things to say in the moment. He knew she was gazing up at him, but couldn't return the look in fear of seeing her tears again.

"Shoto," she whispers out. She could sense the conflict of his mind in his aura, feeling his rapid heartbeat as she presses her hand against his chest. "I-"

"Please. Trust me." Shoto then meets her gaze, newfound determination blazing in his eyes. How many times had she said that his eyes were too beautiful to be that sad and burdened, but looking into hers as she breaks down in his arms was nearly too much to bear. He wanted to chase the sadness away, to defeat whatever was weighing so heavily on her mind.

"You don't understand what you're asking if me," she responds after a moment. She tried finding any alternative motivation from him yet all she found was genuine concern and acceptance from him. With a sigh, she closes her eyes and begins her tale for the third time. Time travel, demons, romance, the journey to self-acceptance and discovery. The word vomit started spewing and before she knew it, Kagome was telling Shoto about how she was older than she seemed, had been in a war long forgotten, and made a daring wish. Shoto, however, almost couldn't keep up, the twists and turns keeping him on the edge of his seat. Yet when it came to parts with Inuyasha and Koga, he felt a sickening knot form in his stomach as his heart would tense with each mention. He felt this seeing her with Katsuki and Izuku, and now that new wolf demon that was there for the license exam. Is this what Jikoku knew that he didn't? Is that why he hit it off so well with Kagome so quickly? Too many questions flooded his mind as Kagome continues her tale.

"I know that's a lot to have thrown at you," she quietly apologizes. "It's not something I can tell just anyone, you know?"

"So then the USJ attack?"

"Yeah, that was the little fix demon," Kagome sighs out sadly. "Its been 500 years for them where as it was only a few minutes for me. If that."

"and when Koga had come to U.A., he had…"

"I smacked him the first time we had met and didn't realize he was a masochist." That had forced a laugh from Shoto, not expecting such a response. "Demons value strength over most, courage and loyalty are very close behind."

"Thats what Sesshomaru had mentioned." Demons were in such a different league than the rest of the hero society that the fact they had their own law was beyond Shoto. All Might would be able to hold his own again a pure blood but beyond that the other heroes would struggle to keep up with such attributes. "Are you feeling better?" He breaks the sudden silence. Kagome's tears had stopped during her retelling of history, completely forgetting why Shoto had even come to her to begin with. A deep blush covers Kagome's features as she buries her face against his chest. The male can't help the chuckle bubbling in his throat, finding his friends antics adorably amusing. He continues to soothe her hair by gently combing his fingers through while holding her with his other arm. "I'll take that as a yes."

The pair stay in a comfortable silence and before either knew it, they were blissfully asleep curled in each others arms. A sense of safety covers them as the world outside Kagome's door is left forgotten.
