Herbert was surprised, seeing RJ as he, Chance, Eric and Kerry were in the kitchen noticing RJ had a beard with beads in it making Rocket grin seeing his dad had noticed RJ's beard along with the beads hearing Rocket chuckling. "Relax pops, you don't have to give him the puberty talk. He's growing out his chin fur so ge doesn't look like Quill since he became captain of the Novacore and he doesn''t want to be lime Quill when he grows up." he told Herbert relieving him.
"That's good, but he does look handsome with his beard like you when you had a beard." Herbert told him making RJ smile at this as he was eating breakfast with loved ones plus surprised he was starting school and not the Academy which relieved Rocket because he had been talking with Herbert about school for RJ which wasn't boarding school relieving him.
"Wow, I get to go to day school and not boarding school, like dad." he told him.
"Uh-huh, I don't think the Academy would be a good fit for you." Rocket said drinking his coffee seeing Herbert nodding as R3 was in preschool and not the Academy which had convinced him to not enrol RJ in the Academy which had made Rocket happy. "Yeah, you deserve to experience things like normie kits even though you know." he told hin hoping Herbert would warn the teacher about this factor.
"Don't worry, I told her about that, and will pack certain juiceboxes in his lunches in case." Herbert told him seeing RJ yawning a lil as he, Chance and Eric had snuck inti the arcade in the Wondergore mall having a Mario Kart tournament which Rocket knew because RJ had bragged aboht his score, giving the kit some of his coffee as it would keep him awake besides having to take an nap astoubding Herbert he was drinking coffee not finding it gross, like most kits his age when their parents gave them sips of coffee.
"Relax Herbie, it keeps him awake, after being up all night playing video games and kicking butt on Mario Kart." Rocket told his dad making Kerry impressed by what Eric, Chance and RJ had did all night.
"I'm so challenging you to Mario Kart later, bubbelah." Rocket said smirking seeing RJ nodding.
"Bring it on daddy." RJ told him grinning as it reminded Herbert of Rocket at this age.
RJ grinned, as he and his dad were in the arcade in the Wondergore mall as they were going to have a Mario Kart tournament like RJhad did all night with Chance and Eric after RJ had woken up from an nap and had a snack before doing this making Herbert chuckle as thisshould be fun. He knew that Rocket liked video games just like RJ and knew they were having fun. "We should do this more often you know." RJ heard Rocket saying nodding.
