Charlie sat in his chair for a while, sweating with concentration, one wrong move could end him... he goes in and?!
"King me." He smiled to Dawkins who's sighs.
"It took you that long just to make a move?" He asked in dissatisfaction.
"Look Dawkins, Checkers takes concentration and strategy."
"Thats Chess Charlie, not checkers and beside." Dawkons pick up his piece and bounced it over the remaining pieces that Charlie has, "I win."
"You know what, you cheated."
"Thats positive impossible." He scratched his ear, but Charkie laughs.
"I know, I'm just messing either ya bud." Charlie smiled scratching Dawkins ear for him to which made him sigh in relief.
"Hello Dawkins, and Charlie." Da-Vinci greeted the boys.
"Hey Da-Vinci how's your painting coming along?" Charlie asked, smiling at her causing her to giggle.
"It's going swell, not only that but I overheard mum, and dad planning a family trip up to Cornwall." She said as Dolly over heard this and appeared out of no where.
"Cornwall?! When?!" She asked in desperation."
"Tomorrow." She smiled causing Dolly to freak out.
"Oh my Dog, oh my dog!! I'm not ready!!!" She ran upstairs leaving Charlie confused, while Dawkins, and Da-Vinci giggled.
"Well that was new." Charlie rasied an eye brow, "Never seen her geek out like that."
"Thats because her boyfriend is up there." Da-Vinci said putting more cutesy on the word boyfriend.
"Boyfriend?!"
"Yeah her 'boyfriends' name is Spike and they well only just met."
"Oh, I see I thought she liked Hansel." Charlie said.
"W-Well she does... It's just that well Hansel seems more interested with Dylan then Dolly." She explains.
"Oh, I see." Charlie said as Dylan popped out from the corner.
"Are we really going to Cornwall?" He asks.
"That's right Dylan, we're going to Cornwall tomorrow." Da-Vinci answered which still gave a shiver of fear.
"Oh, that place really gives me the shivers."
"Why you say that?" Charlie asked.
"Oh well... there's a cow up there that I guess doesn't really like us."
"What? What you mean doesn't like you."
"It's a long story Charlie."
"Yeah she nice, but underneath is an evil cow." Da-Vinci said which made Charlie laughed.
"Oh, I see so this cow is an evil bag of beef huh." He joked to which the pups clearly didn't find funny, "Well you don't have to worry about this mean ol cow, cause I'll be there just in case."
"Will you really?" Da-Vinci asked.
"Of course I don't want no stinky cow making death threats with my family." He said before getting pounced on by Da-Vinci and started getting his face licked by her.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She said making Charlie laugh.
"Alright Da-Vinci alright." He laughed to which everyone else laughed along.
The Next Day
"Well I think that's everything." Charlie said as he checked over his stuff that he's bringing on the trip.
"Got everything you need Charlie?" Delilah asked.
"I think I do actually, how about you guys."
"Oh we got our essentials." She said they walked out to the double decker bus, when Charlie opened the back the 'essentials' flew out which were mostly chew toys, tarps, blankets, and loads of food.
"I see that we have our 'essentials' in order." He looked over to which Delilah giggled and helps up Charlie, "You sure this is enough food?"
"Remember there's 101 of us, one could never be too careful." She explained.
"I guess that make sense."
"BOW WAKKA WOW, coming through!" Dolly could be heard as she skateboard down and did a kick flip, upon doing so she kicked her skateboard into the double decker bus which landed perfectly in the back before she landed on her feet, "Ta da." She said throwing up her paws.
"Bravo Dolly bravo." Charlie clapped before throwing it back to her, 'But we don't need this."
"Bro why not?"
"Cause didn't you say that Cornwall is mostly beaches and fields as far as the eyes can see?"
"Oh yeah, I did say that did I."
"So we don't need this, besides skateboards don't really work on grassy and sandy terrains." He said before looking over his stuff, "Alright, I think we are ready to go, ready to count the pups there Delilah?" He asked her.
"I'll go get them ready." She said as she hurried back inside, leaving Charlie to lean against the bus signing.
"You know, sometimes I wish I was a dog." He said to himself as he looked up to see a drone looking down at them, "Ugh stupid neighbors again." He said before giving the drone a middle finger, I can't wait to leave for Cornwall maybe me and Da-Vinci can spend some time together up there." He said as he walked over to the main door of the bus suddenly he could hear rumbling coming from inside the house, "Oh no, here it comes." He said as the tsunami of Black and white came pouring out of the front door and onto Charlie licking and barking on him, making him laugh, "Alright everyone alright!" He laughed as Dylan blew a whistle to get there attention.
"Alright pups line up, sorry about that Charlie."
"Nah, your fine Dylan not complaining over here."
"Alright everyone time to be counted line up and we will count you off when you get in the trolley." He said as they pups all lined up ready to be counted.
"Hey where's Dolly?"
"Oh she'll be coming down precisely... now." Dawkins pointed over to the door where Dolly came flying out all ready to go basically jumping over everyone and landing next to Dylan throwing her arms up into the air.
"Excellent timing Dolly." Dylan said as Dolly laughed.
"What can I say I'm an expert on being on time."
"That's funny."
"Pfft as if, now come let's get this trolley movin!" She yelled out in excitement.
"Boy is she super excited."
"No kidding." Dylan sighed.
"Oh it's not like your super excited to see Summer." Dolly popped back up teasing Dylan.
"Dolly stop." Dylan said clearly embarrassed at her remark.
"Oh is this someone you like?" Charlie asked as he leaned against the double deck bus crossing him arms with a grin.
"W-Well I mean... I mean yeah I do like her and all but you know we, we just met." Dylan tried to cover up but clearly was too easy to figure out.
"Uh-huh I see how it is." Charlie smiled grew bigger as the last pup got into the double decker bus.
"That's all pups counted and ready for our vacation, do you have everything there Charlie?" Delilah asked.
"Got everything in my bag ready to go." Charlie held up his bag giving a thumbs up.
"So let's get going then. The sooner we get there the sooner we can set up our sleeping area."
"And meet Spike and Summer." Dolly said with excitement.
"Can't forget about Chip."
"Yeah can't forget about Chip." Dizzy and DeeDee both laughed.
"Oh who's Chip."
"He's our friend."
"Yeah our friend!"
"Sounds like a good friend then again anything you two talk about is good." Charlie laughed as he sat in the back with Dylan and Da-Vinci who immediately snuggle up with him, soon the bus driver came on board and was clearly not looking forward for this drive, after sighing he sat in the driver seat and started up the bus to which the pups all cheered in excitement.
Later
The scenery changed from the bustling city scape to a wide open country side soon changing to a grassland/beaches on one of ledges was a dog, a border collie sitting as if the dog was waiting for them once the dog realized that. After a couple of minutes the the bus finally stopped in front of a lighthouse, Dylan was the first to stand up.
"Alright pups, remember we are in a new location so let's be weary of our surroundings." He said as he suddenly tripped over his one hind legs and fell down the bus stairs opening the doors and faceplanting onto the ground, after hitting the ground the tsunami of black and white fur trampled over him to explore the world.
"Well I see you made one of your usual entrances." A voice giggled to which Dylan quickly perked up to see the dog from earlier.
"S-Summer?" Dylan quickly picked himself up and patted himself down, "H-hey hey! H-how you been?" He asked clearly embarrassed to which Summer giggled.
"I've been grand I see that you and your family has returned for another stay here in Cornwall." She said giving Dylan a boop on the nose to which he turned completely red but played it off.
"Oh, looks likes someones turning red." Charlie teased.
"Yeah bro way to light up around us." Dolly laughed causing Dylan to groan in annoyance Summer looked over to see Charlie and was very confused.
"And who's that, a new friend?" She asked.
"I'm Charlie at your service, Summer correct?" Charlie asked which Summer's eyes widen.
"Wait he can understand me?"
"Shocking? I know Dylan was the same way he was worse though, he wouldn't speak for a whole whopping two days." Charlie explained to which Summer giggled, "You know Dylan talks about you alot."
"Oh he has, has he?" She smirked back to Dylan who was giving off a awkward smile.
"Oh yeah you should have heard him." He laughed as he got off the bus holding up his belongings, "You two behave yourselves." He said patting Dylan on the head before heading over to the beach area.
"So uh... H-how have you been?" Dylan asked.
"I've been fine and how have you been?" Summer asked with a smile.
"Well you know how it is just here and there keeping the pup safe, you know fun stuff." Dylan said playing off his stressful chores.
"Well I'm glad you could make it up, I have something that I really wanna show you."
"Oh, uh what did you wanted to show me?"
"Come follow me." She said before running ahead leaving Dylan to be hypnotized by her movement, but soon shook his head and took off after her.
"Young love." Doug sighed as Delilah laughed before giving her husband a lick on the nose.
With Dolly and Charlie
"Heads up Dolly!" Charlie said throwing a frisbee to her in which she caught it while doing a front flip, "Nice catch Dolly!" He laughed as she came running over, well before being tackled by other pups.
"Alright you guys, Charlie throw it!" Dolly said as she threw the frisbee back to Charlie who smirked.
"Alright Dolly here comes a whopper." He said before launching it across the beach. The large group of pups tried to ran after it but Dolly was quicker than the rest as she went to jump for it, unfortunately she crashed into someone causing them to tumble and land on the beach.
"Well that's one way to say hi." The dog underneath Dolly said she looked down to see a doberman with a bent ear and a necklace, she gasped and quickly stood up fumbling over her own feet and fell right on her back.
"O-oh uh H-hey S-Spike." She stammered as he got up.
"Hey Dollface, I see that you and your family has returned."
"Y-yeah we have... I mean why wouldn't we you know."
"Heh yeah cool." He said as he glanced over to see Charlie and was confused, "Who's your pet?"
"Oh Charlie, yeah he's our pet we got him like months ago." Dolly explained.
"Cool. Hey wanna take a walk with me real quick?" He asks to which Dolly's smiles widens.
"Sure! I mean uh sure that would be h-ho... honestly nice." She stuttered, has she in spikes walked off on the beach. Charlie watches them walk off and laughs to himself.
"How adorable." He said as he headed over to his beach chair opening up a magazine to look into when suddenly he was tackled by Dizzy and DeeDee.
"Come play with us Charlie!"
"Yeah come play with us!" Dizzy and DeeDee chanted.
"All right, all right I'll play." Charlie said as the two pups cheered, "So what do you wanna play?"
"Let's play pirates!"
"Yeah pirates!" They answered.
"Pirates it is."
"Come on we know an awesome place where we can play pirates." Dizzy said as DeeDee jumped with excitement.
"Well alright then lead the way."
WITH DYLAN AND SUNMER
"So what did you wanted to show me?" Dylan asked as Summer lead Dylan all the way up to the top of the lighthouse where she opened up to a walkway.
"Oh, I think your gonna love it, I made a special place for us to stargaze whenever you got back." She said as she revealed the room, in this small room was all kinds of things ranging from three different sizes of telescopes, a monitor, charts and maps of the galaxies.
"Oh wow... Summer this is amazing!" Dylan said which Summer blushed.
"Thanks Dylan."
"You've built all this by yourself?"
"Well no not exactly. I mostly found the stuff out on the beach took me a while to finally clean it out and make it all work but hey."
Hey it's the thought that counts." Dylan said which made Summer blush even more, "I uh truly miss you Summer."
"I missed you too." She said nuzzling Dylan but booped his nose, "boop."
"Oh come on Summer."
"Hey that's how you kissed me remember."
"I know, I panicked."
"Well... We are alone I don't think anyone is watching." She said with a small smile, Dylan face completely blew up with redness as Summer leaned in Dylan at first started to hyperventilate but then took a deep breath and licked Summer on the nose then pulled away in embarrassment.
"Sorry sorry I'm never really good at this." He said hiding his face but Summer giggled and raised his face to hers.
"It was my first time too." She said before touching his nose with hers the passion ignited inside Dylan has all of his awkwarness drained out of him and was filled with compassion they remained like this for what felt like an eternity before separating.
"W-wow..." Dylan mustered to which Summer giggled.
"You seemed a little calmer now."
"I uh, I guess so." Dylan laughed, suddenly a scurry sound could be heard, "Shhhh you hear that?" Dylan asked as he and Summer looked around investigating the noise, the scurry sound continue until it stopped behind some boxes to which shook a small bit, "It stopped."
"Yeah and it's behind those boxes." Summer pointed out.
"I can see that." Dylan said as he scooted closer to the boxes.
"Careful Dylan carful." Summer said as Dylan quickly pulled one box off to reveal a mouse.
"Oh whew, what a relief it's just mouse." He said when suddenly the mouse jumped onto Dylan's head, "AHHHH get it off, get it off, get it off!" He screamed in horror as he ran around crazily.
"Don't worry Dylan I got it." Summer said as she grabbed a vase and threw it onto Dylan's head needless to say it didn't quite work out as now Dylan can't see where he's going.
"I can't see I can't..." Suddenly he slammed into the wall causing the base to break as he fell down, "See..." He said very groggily.
"You alright Dylan?" Summer asked to which Dylan's looked up to her and smiled.
"Has anyone ever tell you, your beautiful?" He asked very groggily in which Summer giggled as he sat up, once his vision returned to normal he noticed that the wall has suddenly shifted, "Hey what's this?" He asks.
"What's what?"
"This... the wall has shifted a little." He said as he pushes on the wall causing it to open slightly.
"Woah, I never seen that before."
"Come and help me will you?" He asked as Summer quickly ran over and helped pushed the wall open more, which revealed an entire other room, "Woah." Dylan stated as he looked down to the dark staircase that wrapped around the lighthouse, "You sure you never seen this?" He asked.
"Never even knew there was a secret door way." Summer stated as they both peeked in.
"Where do you think it leads?"
"Well, only one way to find out." She said heading down the stairs.
"Summer are you crazy, we don't even know where they lead to." Dylan gasped.
"Well do you like to know where they lead or not?" She asked to which Dylan nervously gulped and headed on down, the darkness consumed them as they carefully dwindled down the dark steps suddenly light seeped through a door at the end of the stair case.
"That's strange." Dylan said as Summer pushed opened the door, once she pushed the door open the room lit up with a white glow blocking their visions for a brief sec.
"Ah, it just got really hard to see." Summer said as she covered her eyes, once their vision returns the room revealed itself, all over the room was monitors, maps with satellite images and dots blinking in certain spots, next to the monitors were rows and rows of different drones that were mostly damage and some that look brand spanking new.
"Wow... what a room." Dylan said but the biggest thing that caught his eyes was a white board that had Charlie on it... he was crossed over with a large red circle and slash through it underneath him was picture of him in the army, including several pics of recent events, from the party with DJ, saving Dolly from the drunkard, searching for Da-Vinci, At the movies with Triple D, even in Constantine's house with Deepak.
"Woah..."
"Woah is right."
"Who would have these pictures of you guys?" Summer asked.
"Possibly the same people who was at the party we went to, and the ones who attacked us twice."
"Woah woah, parties, drones and people trying to attack you, what's going on?" Summer asked clearly confused.
"No time we need to get back to Charlie, He'll know what to do." Dylan said as they hurried out of the lighthouse.
BACK WITH CHARLIE
"So where are you guys taking me?" Charlie asked Dizzy and DeeDee.
"Oh, it's just up here."
"Yeah, just up here!" Dizzy and DeeDee said as they ran up the rocky hills to reveal a large cave.
"Woah, what a cave."
"I know! Isn't it great?!"
"Bessie told us about this cave."
"Who's Bessie?"
"She's our friend."
"Yeah, but Dylan doesn't like her."
"Is she a cow?" He asked.
"Yes!"
"How did you know?!"
"Eh... Dylan told me something about how this cow tried to kill you all?"
"Oh that's just her way of playing with us." Dizzy stated to which DeeDee nodded her head.
"Almost pushing you guys off a cliff?!" Charlie asked widening his eyes.
"Well... I mean she probably didn't mean it."
"Yeah she's an innocent cow."
"Maybe, but as a reference don't let strangers take advantage of you understand?"
"Yes Charlie." Both Dizzy and DeeDee said holding their heads down in shame.
"Hey don't be upset about it come on let's have some fun!" Charlie said which Dizzy and DeeDee jumped with joy.
"Arg! I am Captain Pup Beard, ready ter walk the plank." Dizzy said as she dressed up like a little pirate.
"Arg there's the enemy hiding inside that cave." DeeDee said as she had on a pirate costume but soon they both looked over to Charlie, "Psst Charlie, can you be our enemy?"
"Would you like me to?"
"YES!" They both said with excitement.
"Alright alright I'll do it." He said as he hurried into the cave but stopped short, "Uh how far does this cave go?"
"Oh it shouldn't go far."
"Yeah not since the cave in."
"Cave in?"
"Yeah... the last time we played in here there was a cave in."
"So... Why do you wanna play in it now?"
"Oh, we just thought it would be safe."
"Yeah safe."
"Well... alright then if you say so." He said as he entered the cave, "Let me know when you guys are ready."
"We will!"
"Yeah we will!" Dizzy and Deedee jumped with joy, once Charlie entered the cave Dizzy and Dee Dee giggled and went into the cave after hi, "Argh matey the treasure shall be in here!" Dizzy said in her pirate voice.
"Shiver me timbers." DeeDee giggled, "Isn't isn't this be where the monster lives?"
"Oh poppycock there be no such thing as monsters." Dizzy defended before hearing a growl.
"Are you sure that not be the monster?" DeeDee asked who started to tremble
"Again they be no such thing as monster." Suddenly the growling turned into a roar which actually scared Dizzy and DeeDee, "M-maybe it's just... just the wind the wind." Suddenly Charlie jumped out giving a horrific howl scaring the two pups.
"I am the monster, fear me mortals!" He yelled out causing Dizzy and DeeDee to playfully run away.
"The monsters going to eat us captin!" Deedee said in fear but then giggled knowing that this is all for fun.
"Quick we must hide from the monster." Dizzy said as they both stuck under rocks.
"Where are you, you precious food, I'm gonna find you." Charlie teased as he looked around for them, "You can't hide forever I can smell you, and boy do you two stink." He joked to which Dizzy and DeeDee giggled.
"What should we do?"
"We have to jump him." Dizzy said.
"But how?"
"Follow me, I got an idea." She said as she crawled out from behind the rock and snuck over to a larger rock.
"Come out, come out wherever you are." Charlie said as he was suddenly jumped from behind.
"Gotcha!" Dizzy said as Charlie flailed around wildly trying to get her off of him.
"Get off me you filthy vermin." Charlie said as DeeDee came running up.
"Don't worry sis! I'm coming!" She said and pounced onto Charlie's leg, "Now we got you monster!"
"Let me go! Or I'll have your heads for this." He said as they suddenly started to tickle him, "Oh hey wait stop it!" He laughed and suddenly fell to the floor.
"We did it!"
"We beat the monster!" Dizzy and DeeDee cheered until suddenly the entire cave started to shake, "Uh oh."
"Cave in! Quick, let's get out of here." Charlie said getting up and hurrying out of the cave with Dizzy and DeeDee.
"Wait my hat!" Dizzy said and ran back to her hat Charlie skidded to a halt and looked over to see her picking up her hat however above her was a stalactite already on the brink of falling.
"Come on Dizzy." Charlie said snatching up Dizzy right before the stalactite fell on them and proceeded to escape the cave before the entrance collapsed behind them.
"Whew that was close." Charlie said as he wiped his brow.
"The cave... it's... it's gone." Dizzy said with sadness.
"Oh Dizzy, it's alright, that cave wasn't going to last anyway." He said picking up Dizzy and placing her hat in her head, "Besides we definitely had fun right?"
"Yeah."
"But now we can't pirates anymore." DeeDee added to which they both gave sadden whined.
"Tell you what when we get home we could make a man made pirate ship and continue playing."
"Really?!"
"You mean it?!"
"Yes I mean it." Charlie said to which Dizzy and DeeDee pounced onto him.
"Thank you!" They said in unison to which made Charlie laughed as he was getting tickled by them.
"Alright you two let's get back to you mom and dad to see if Dylan or Dolly returned." He said as they walked down the rocky path back to the main beach.
MEANWHILE
A pilot flying a plane looked down to see Charlie leaving the cave where he just had bombed to which craters could be seen above the cave.
"Target has escape the area, I repeat the target has escape the area." He reported.
"Damnit, report back to the base we'll have to try a different approach." A voice said on the radio.
"Hard copy, over and out." The pilot said as he took off into the opposite direction.
