"Good fucking morning to me," Blitz groaned, rolling off the couch with a big stretch. His spikes extended after being compressed and pushed down into the couch all night. Today felt like a good day. Blitz made his way over to the coolest fucking horse calendar to ever exist in the nine hells and checked the date.
"Alright, alright, full moon tonight," he noted with a grin.
Feeling devilishly handsome and with a boost of confidence after the successful month of business, Blitz was feeling great about giving a little attention back to Stolas, who had, for the most part, left him unchecked and to his own devices for the last three months. It had been great for business to be open an additional day now that Stolas had been giving him an out this last while. He was finally out of the red and had even managed to put money aside this month. He might even upgrade to a nicer apartment if this income kept up—or he could install another eel tank in the office! Nothing quite said professional businessman to his potential clients like two eel tanks! Blitz was feeling chuffed with his train of thought, only to be vaguely interrupted when his eyes glazed back to the calendar and the cartoon drawing of Stolas. His body felt warm and weird, like he was sick or something.
'It's just sex tonight, right?' he thought. He glanced down at his phone to read the message that came through last night after the job.
—Yesterday—
Stolas: I do need the grimoire this time. I look forward to seeing you this evening.
He chose not to reply because he was obviously tired yesterday, so why did he feel… guilty? Ugh, why had Stolas been asking for all this not-sexy stuff? Talking and cuddling, coming over for pizza, or a Monday morning coffee! Who does that stuff together? Ha, it actually sounds like the kind of stupid stuff Moxxie and Millie are always doing when they tell Blitz they can't just hang out with him at the drop of a hat.
It doesn't matter. He's been avoiding Stolas for the last three months, so why does it feel so heavy?
'Whatever,' he thought, pushing the thought out of his mind. It doesn't have to be complicated. It's a night for sex and just that...
Moving on to start the day with pancakes, Blitz called out, "Luuuuna, it's your favourite, purple pancakes!" He sang out in a sing-song voice, hoping to stir the angsty teenager in the room across from the kitchen. He heard her stir and the sound of paws padding across her room. She began to open the door when Blitz chimed in with, "Now there is my hungry happy girl! I even put chocolate chips in these bitches because we are living it up today!"
The door immediately slammed closed again. He must have said too much too soon in the morning, but he would leave some out for her because he knew she would eat them on her own accord.
A bit burnt, but that adds a little je ne sais quoi. Blitz moved on from cooking to get ready for the day ahead and started packing a bag for work and a bag for after work. It's not like he had to sleep over at Stolas's, but it's kind of what's been happening as time has gone by. Maybe it's just nice to sleep on an actual bed for a night instead of a ratty couch that gets torn up by his horns and Loona's claws.
….Or maybe it's because Stolas's feathers are just the softest, and he always smells a little like Earl Grey tea and lavender, and maybe he likes feeling needed.
'Are we alright?' the thought unwelcomingly infiltrated his mind. His palms were a bit sweaty, and his heart had that strange sinking feeling again as he made his way to the bathroom to get ready for the day.
"Relax, we are fine," he said to himself in the mirror, trying to get back his composure. Of course, it's all just some post-sex high that makes him feel that way, he reassured himself—nothing more.
Oh yeah, Blitz is back on track. He's going to pack his best sex toys, he's going to rock that fucking bird puss to the next dimension, have him really seeing stars. Yeah, they're going to bone.
Blitz hummed along to himself as his mind wandered into all the possible fantasies that tonight might unfold.
Later on at work, still running on an adrenaline high from their latest hit, Blitz congratulated the team on another job well fucking done. "What a great day this is," Blitz said to the team.
Moxxie happily smiled after all the unusually high praise himself and Millie had gotten today. With a short conversation about Blitz's unusually optimistic attitude for the day, Blitz mentioned that he would finally see Stolas tonight after more than a few months of avoiding him.
With genuine concern, Moxxie repeated Blitz's last words, "A few months?"
"Uhh yeah, well the bird started giving me more ways out of our usual fucksess," Blitz replied. "He's all like, 'Oh Blitzy, I know it's the full moon tonight, but you don't have to come if you don't want to.'" He mockingly put on his best Stolas impression with an accent, hand gestures, and all.
"So I've been taking a break from ploughing his feathered ass into his fancy assed mattress is all," Blitz retorted, knowing that sharing a bit too much info would make Moxxie squirm a little, which Blitz wouldn't deny he also very much enjoyed seeing.
"Ugh, TMI, sir." Moxxie said, scrunching up his face in disdain.
Blitz kept going, riding his newfound high for the day, feeling chauvinistic with his new found stamina, just casually flaunting it in front of Moxxie.
Out from behind him, Loona chimed into the conversation, "Oh shit, he is getting bored of you."
There's that feeling again, like a weighted blanket just dropped on his shoulders. "Whhaat?" Blitz said, his smile faltering while trying to not show any actual concern in his voice at the notion that Stolas—his Stolas—would be bored with him?!
Loona kept on talking, really sending her point home, but it's fine. Really, Blitz could just whip out position 37 tonight and re-excite the bird no problem. No problem, right? But maybe a problem as that feeling kind of stayed around.
Moxxie went on to remind him just how well business has been going and how important the grimoire is to the business, like he didn't fucken already know. To get Mox off his back, he just leaned in with more sexual details of just how he would keep this bird in the palm of his hand.
"Stoooooop," Moxxie blushed a bright and fierce shade of pink.
Blitz immediately moved on to his not-so-secret stash of sex toys in the office because he wasn't sure if his hamstrings were actually flexible enough to do position 37—not just yet, that is. Maybe there was something they haven't tried yet in the box. He felt a nervous twinge in his gut. Was Stolas truly getting bored of him? Was he not enough? It's fine. He just needs to up the ante, and with IMP booming and cash flowing, guess it's time to hit the town and restock the trunk.
Later that night, Blitz found himself wandering through Lust with a nearly empty tote bag. He didn't need much, or at least that's what he kept telling himself. It's not like he needed to put actual effort into tonight. It's not like he cared.
Blitz picked up a few candles—well, one large, fuck-off candle meant to set a mood of… horny? It was hard to put a precise feeling on how he felt, but horny would do. He made his rounds to his usual spots, but nothing seemed to satisfy that heavy feeling inside him, so he just kept buying. One of the shop owners even gave him a jumbo tote bag as a free add-on because he bought so much. Fuck yeah, Blitz loved a deal.
"Fizz's!" he suddenly thought. "Why didn't I start there? That could have saved me a shit ton of time!"
He turned onto the street where Ozzie's establishment was, for the first time since he brought Stolas there, and the memories flooded back—humiliation when Verosika confronted him. Did she awaken something in Stolas, making him distant? But Blitz never really tried with Verosika. She was always a bit judgmental, never believing his plan to start his own business would succeed.
Blitz was staring at his phone, contacts open to Fizzarolli, but he hadn't hit the dial yet when a sleek, black-tinted SUV rolled up beside him.
"Blitz, is that you?" Fizz called out. "To what do I owe the great pleasure?" He smiled warmly, as if the past was truly in the past, seeing Blitz as the friend he's always known, as if no time or trauma had separated their friendship.
"Fizzzzzz, my friend, I was just coming to see you!" Blitz leaned against the car.
"Were you now? Well, lady luck must be on your side because I was just leaving. You're lucky I stopped," Fizz responded.
"Well, I've got a favour to ask ya," Blitz said.
"Oh ho ho, rekindle our friendship and we're already asking favours, oh my Blitz, we sure do move fast. Well, come on then," Fizz cheekily winked and opened the car door. Blitz slid inside, yanking his overly large sack of goodies in with him, and began taking in just how nice and secure the vehicle was. Ozzie sure didn't cut corners when it came to Fizz, that's for certain. Fizz pulled Blitz in for a side hug. "Well, what can I do ya for, my friend?"
Blitz welcomed the hug and replied, "Well, you see, I've got some making up to do with Stolas. I've kind of skipped out on the last few rendezvous, and I'm looking for something that says, 'WOW, it was worth the wait.'"
Fizz raised an eyebrow. "Is that allllll you're trying to say?"
Blitz went quiet for a moment, his eyes searching as he tried to articulate his thoughts. 'Is that what I am trying to say?' Blitz's mind was unsure of itself yet again.
Rubbing his hand over his face, he admitted, "Yep, that's it. That's all I got."
Unseen to Blitz, Fizz rolled his eyes and gave a soft smile. "Well, okay then. Diego!, take us to the factory," Fizz said to his driver, who by the looks of it, was also a bodyguard. With a nod, the vehicle rerouted.
"I'll just give a quick call to Ozzie," Fizz chirped cheerfully. "You know, with the kidnapping and all, he can be a little more concerned than usual," he said, one hand over the speaker.
"Oh, baby hey, yes absolutely… mmmhmm, oh don't start without me now haha… Oh yeah, slight delay, just stopping by the warehouse for Blitz, getting him a little something-something for Stolas tonight… oooo now don't get me started… bye-bye! Okay, love ya, bye!" Fizz oozed with happiness on the phone. He was the embodiment of a warm chocolate chip cookie, just bursting with tenderness and a sense of belonging that Blitz could only imagine.
Blitz couldn't quite make out what Asmodeus was saying on the other end, but he probably didn't want to know. Good for him, he thought, looking at his friend with a smile. Satan, he couldn't believe he'd gone so long without this type of friendship.
Once they arrived and got out of the car, they strode towards the warehouse. The security from the car mumbled into his watch, and before Fizz even reached the doors, a new set of guards was waiting to greet him. Unfazed, Fizz kept talking to Blitz about him and Ozzie, and the prospect of them getting a little hellcat, something about a post on Sinstergram of one-eyed cyclops kittens for sale.
The warehouse doors opened, and Blitz could already see some promising items scattered around or displayed on boxes as they made their way to a locked vault.
"Thanks for doing me this solid for tonight. Look, Fizz, I just need to get the good shit, and I know you and Ozzie make the best toys in town," Blitz said as they strode in.
"I've got ya, buddy. We've got some prototypes that will get the job done for a fancy gentleman like yourself," Fizz responded as he unlocked some sort of sex vault. Item after item, Blitz really put some thought into what Stolas liked. And then, oh yeah, there it was—a Dragon Driller 5000! That would surely rock Stolas's feathered socks off.
