Harvey rolled over and reached for Donna before he opened his eyes, only to have his arm hit the cold mattress. Groaning, he rolled back over to get himself up out of bed. He hated waking up alone, the familiar fear of abandonment still pricking him despite the months they'd spent together.

Hearing the toilet flush, Harvey made his way into the bathroom, the panic returning when he saw Donna with her head resting on the toilet seat, just as he had done days before.

Rushing to kneel down beside her, he lifted her chin, her tear-stained face meeting his gaze.

"How long have you been in here," he asked, unable to hide the concern in his voice.

Donna sighed, "About an hour."

"You should have woken me up," he brushed her loose hair out of her face.

"It's fine, Harvey," she reached for his hand, giving him a soft smile.

"I'm going to get Rosie ready and drop her off, and then I'm coming right back here."

"Harvey," she pushed, "I'll be fine by myself, you've already missed so much work –"

"Donna" he cut her off, "you know I think that you're the most beautiful woman in the world, but you look like you got hit by a subway car, and I'm not about to leave you for dead on the floor."

She rolled her eyes, "I think that's the least charming think you've ever said."

When Harvey returned home an hour later, he was relieved to find Donna asleep on the couch. This bug had hit her the hardest; he wasn't surprised since she had been taking care of everyone but herself all week, but he still felt terrible.

At the sound of his footsteps, Donna rolled over and opened her eyes, a smile spreading across her face when she saw Harvey approaching with a cup of tea.

"I didn't know if you'd be up for anything, but you really should try to drink something," he said, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Donna's heart burst with the softness and concern in his voice. She knew he would do anything for her, but since Rosie had made her arrival, she loved how much more of this side she got to see of him.

She tried to hold back her tears as she took the cup from him, "You're so sweet, Harvey, thank you," she sniffled.

"Donna, hey –" the concern back in his voice, "what's going on?"

She dropped her head onto his shoulder and sighed, "I don't know, Harvey, I'm just so worn out," she shook her head, "I hate feeling like this, feeling sick and helpless and so drained."

"Donna," he pulled her in closer, "even Superwoman takes sick days."

The sweetness of his comment pushed her over the edge, and she couldn't hold back the tears as she let out a heavy sob.

Faced with a crying Donna for the second time in 12 hours, Harvey felt panic start to rise in his chest.

"Hey," he lifted her chin to meet his eyes, "is there something else going on? If something is making you upset – "

"No, Harvey," she interjected, more tears falling as she took in the look of panic on his face, "I'm fine, I'm probably just about to get my –"

My period, she wanted to say, but the words caught in her throat.

She knew. She didn't even have to look at a calendar. The nausea, the exhaustion, the crying, it all made sense.

"Donna?" Harvey questioned when she went quiet.

Her brain was still playing catch up as she locked eyes with him. They weren't even trying. Well, they weren't exactly not trying. But they hadn't talked about it again since their conversation after Thanksgiving. Holy shit.

Still unable to form words, her hand absentmindedly drifted to her stomach. Her baby, their baby, growing just below her palm.

"Are you feeling sick again?" Harvey questioned when he saw her reach for her stomach.

She shook her head, a teary smile spreading across her face, which only added to his confusion.

"Harvey," she took his hand and placed it on her abdomen, a feeling of warmth rushing through her as she introduced him to their child for the first time, "I think I have a different kind of stomach bug."
