Song In This Chapter: "Ice Cream Freeze" from Hannah Montana
Luke wakes up smelling pancakes and waffles, and so does Marcy. Luke came down in his pajamas and bathrobe, carrying Marcy to breakfast bridal style.
"Happy birthday, Luke!" Lori says, having shown up.
"Lori!" Luke says. "You're here for my birthweek! Well, what's left of it, anyway…"
"Yeah, sorry, studies got annoying. Thank God I survived." Lori says.
Soon enough, everyone began to eat.
"What kind of party are you having later, Luke?" Lori asked.
"It's an ice cream themed party at Mary Scooper's. How's your baby?" Luke asked.
"Coming in 4 months. I don't want to talk about it too much, though. It's your day." Lori says.
"Oliver's friends are coming to the ice cream party." Luke says. He sighed, annoyed at the Foxes. But he liked Oliver's friends.
Kat and Ana get in the shower after eating.
"Let's go!" Kat says as she was excited about the zoo.
Angry Luigi sees this.
"More characters from different worlds are using Royal Woods as its dumping ground. We should probably go to Greendale before other kid heroes drag me into an adventure." Angry Luigi says as he was wondering why everyone was coming here. First it was the cups, then the Warioware crew, now this. Maybe he set off the chain reaction.
"If My Little Pony characters show up, I'm done." Alem tuber says.
"Relax, they won't show up….here. Bella has met them." Angry Luigi says.
"And I'm done, bye." Alem tuber says, leaving the house.
"Wow, that's what broke him? Ponies?" Emma asked.
"Well, it was either that or Darkseid or the court, but we aren't handling that." Angry Luigi says.
"Wait, new bad guys?" Melony asked.
"Yeah, but I'm letting Batman handle that. We go to Metropolis, a lot of trouble will arise, so here is the plan. We do nothing. No more different characters, no more new worlds, that's it, we're done for now. We'll discuss future missions next year." Angry Luigi says.
"Aw, man, but going to new places is fun!" Melony says.
"And dangerous. Messing with the Boiling Isles was a big risk. We are not dealing with any more risks, but the witches are Oliver's problem, so if the Earth gets invaded, he has to deal with it. Not my fault. Oh, another thing, tell Jitro we are not heroes until after Christmas." Angry Luigi says.
"You know the more Luke and Shane continue to be popular, the more characters that will come. Multiverses are coming as we speak and we can't stop it, so just stop b****ing and grow some balls." Melony says.
"Okay, then, our only hope is for ANH to be on hiatus till January or February. I'm not dying and Emma, don't drag us on adventures." Angry Luigi says.
"You really are scared of new people coming to Royal Woods." Melony says.
At the zoo, Kat and Ana were bouncing as they walked alongside Luke and Marcy.
"Oh, Luke, there is an invitation for you." Marcy says, giving him a letter.
"It says I'll be invited to perform at a multiversal show on January 13th. When I win, I'll probably be known as the greatest star in the multiverse. When I win, I want a grand multiversal party." Luke says.
"That's big!" Kat and Ana say, then go to ride on an elephant. Luke took pictures of them.
The others were getting things ready for the party. They wouldn't be setting up until Mary Scooper's closed at 4:00. Shane actually had to work today, but he would be off before the party.
"Oh, what do we do?" Lisa asked.
"Get on with our lives until 4?" Luna guessed.
"Sure, sounds good." Lisa says.
Sasha and Anne come to see Shane at work.
"What is his job here?" Anne asked.
"He's Santa." Sasha says.
"Are we sitting on his lap? We're kinda too old for that. You even teased me when we were 12." Anne says.
"I dare you to do it." Sasha says.
"He's your future boyfriend, you do it." Anne says.
"I double dog dare you!" Sasha says.
"Just do it!" Kids scream.
Meanwhile, Ana feeds a giraffe as Luke takes a picture.
Melony ran by.
"Melony, where do you think you're going?" Angry Luigi asked.
"To find more multiversal baddies." Melony says teasingly as Angry Luigi speeds after her and tries to attack, but she counters and kicks him up, then sends him aside as he rushes over.
"Can't have you dragging the whole multiverse here!" Angry Luigi says
"The multiverse is already on its way at this point. So stop complaining and let's get ready for the fight of our lives!" Melony says. Angry Luigi sighed.
"You're not fun! I thought you guys were supposed to be heroes." Melony says.
"It's about protecting our civilization, not going out. That's above our paycheck." Angry Luigi says.
"Fine." Melony says.
Later, a net caught Sasha and pulled her away.
"If I had my sword, you wouldn't be so lucky!" Sasha says.
"Sasha!" Anne says and rushes after them.
The villains responsible arrived at their hideout. They wore black outfits to mask themselves.
"Let me go!" Sasha says.
"Did you see that?" Leni asked Shane.
"I'm working. You save her." Shane says.
Leni arrived to see Blackheart Spade.
"Oh, crud." Leni says.
Meanwhile, the Louds was doing their own thing, when they get a text from Leni.
"Leni…" Lori groaned as she was in no condition to fight.
The siblings arrive. "Okay, Blackheart Spade, surrender!" Lucy says.
"Never!" Blackheart Spade says as Lucy uses a spell to trap her in a gravity hold as Leni unties Sasha.
Later, Kat and Ana smile, seeing monkeys. Monkeys were their favorite.
"Okay, time to go to the gift shop, little ladies! And Marcy." Luke says.
They go to the gift shop and look at everything.
"Do you see anything you like?" Luke asked them.
Ana sees a toy monkey and chooses it. Marcy took a toy newt and smiled a bit. Kat liked a toy elephant.
Later, it was 2. Luke got bored as he and Marcy played video games.
Kat and Ana start sparring. Ana tries to attack Kat who jumped into a tree. Ana tried to find her, but Kat leaped and kicked her, sending her flying as Ana landed in mud.
"Well played, sis…" Ana says.
"We can't get sloppy." Kat says.
"It's not like the zoo is in danger…" Ana says as suddenly the zoo animals were running amok.
"What do we do?" Kat asked
"Look at the little babies…" Leo says as Kat growls and leaps towards him and tries to attack, but Leo rushes off.
"Ana, get the animals back in their exhibits! I'll handle Leo!" Kat says and rushes off.
Ana stammered as she was scared, unsure of what to do.
"For Pete's sake!" Lola says and holds a rhino back and goes for a punch.
"No!" Ana says, kicking Lola aside.
"We can't hurt the animals!" Ana says
"So what should we do?" Lola asked.
Ana ran into the manor, grabbing a lot of food and leaving as the animals chase her.
Meanwhile, Kat leaped and tried kicking Leo, who dodged and tried punching Kat, who dodged and glared.
"Okay, Leo, you messed with me for the last time! You're going down!" Kat says.
"Bring it!" Leo says with claws out as they blitzed past each other.
Kat's swords broke. Leo laughed before he noticed a bunch of cuts on him as they both fell. Kat then stood up and kicked Leo until he could no longer find the will to move, rendering him immobilized.
Meanwhile, Lucy worked on her poems.
"Sigh." Lucy sighed.
With Luke, he had helped Ana get the animals into their exhibits. Even though it was his birthday, he wasn't going to leave innocent people in the path of danger.
"I'm sorry!" Ana sobbed, feeling guilty.
"Hey, hey, don't be sorry, all right? I'm just doing the thing that heroes do. I'm saving innocent people from getting hurt." Luke says.
"Wait, you're the girl who got caught by snakes." Ana says.
"Wait, what?" Marcy asked.
Anne and Sasha laugh. "Mar-Mar, it's been like 5 years, how are you not aware?" Anne laughed.
"Wait…I nearly died?!" Marcy asked.
Later, Shane was on a 30-minute break.
Leni came over. "Hey, Shane." she says.
"Hey, Leni." Shane says. They began to have lunch together as Shane frowned. Penny had been missing all day. It wasn't like her to not come by and see him.
Meanwhile, Penny finds Wario.
"I need a favor." she says.
"No, I'm busy!" Wario says.
"Look, there's a girl who's trying to steal my boyfriend. I'll do anything!" Penny says.
"Hmmm..." Wario says, thinking. "On one condition…you see that treasure box? Go get it." Wario says.
Penny groaned and had to use her newfound acrobatics to dodge a bunch of traps you'd see in Indiana Jones movies.
She finally got the treasure. "I got it!" She says, but had some weird guilty feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Meanwhile
"Melony, honey, I think it's time that you wear shoes." her mother says.
"Nope." Melony says.
"It's getting cold. Unless you wear boots or something, I can't allow you to attend the party because your feet 'vision senses don't work in ice and snow. I don't know how you managed to survive this long." she says.
"Fine." Melony says. Melony put on some boots
"Great, now I can't see!" She says, stumbling around as her mother holds her.
"Melissa, you're going to have to supervise your sister." she says.
"Ugh!" Melissa groaned.
Meanwhile
"What's the plan?" Penny asked, seeing Wario and Waluigi sneak into Bill's lab and take Angry Luigi and the others' gear.
"We use the cosmic buddies' gear against Shane." Wlem says
"Don't hurt Shane. Just make sure Sasha and Shane don't get together." Penny says.
"Don't worry. On Saturday, the date will be canceled." Wario says.
"I never expected Penny to have a dark side." Waluigi says as they leave.
"Dark side?" Penny wondered. She had a bad feeling she needed help.
Shane eventually started to piece things together. Penny was getting this all wrong. He was only going to be at the mall with Sasha to hang out. There was no mention of a date anywhere in that interaction.
Penny finds the Warioware crew at Club Sugar. "Guys…I screwed up and I don't know what to do!" She said and broke into tears.
"Oh, I gotta run to my ice cream parlor." Mona said and felt bad.
"What happened?" 5-Volt asked.
"I got jealous and I asked Wario to, um, hurt Sasha. I even paid villains to kidnap her earlier today!" Penny sobbed.
"Listen, does the phrase talk things out mean anything to you?" Ashley asked
"Yeah, we always talk things out." Jimmy T says.
"We got your back, no matter what." 9-Volt says as Penny hugged them.
"Shane has been looking for you all day, you know." Dr. Crygor says.
"I can't face him alone. I'm scared." Penny says.
"We'll come." 18-Volt says.
"How many villains did you call out?" Young Cricket asked.
"A bunch, what do we do? Shane can't handle them all by himself." Penny says.
"He's got his cousins and Luke." Young Cricket says.
"And us if necessary." Master Mantis says.
"Also, Luke hates fighting on his day, but if it's to save innocents, he'll do it. Only if it's for that reason." Penny says, remembering hearing that from Shane.
Luke arrives at the mall, uniform-clad. He was sort of annoyed that he was summoned.
"It's ninja time!" Kat and Ana say, rushing past Luke and trying to attack Card Shark, who blasted them away with water.
"Hey, Luke's not alone." Lucy says as the siblings arrive to help.
"Heh, looks like you losers don't know when to quit!" Fashion Bandit Bianca says.
"And you need to quit your idea of fashion, it stinks." Cynthia says as the Adventure Kids were watching this.
Meanwhile, in the Inkwell Isles…
"When did you escape?" Cuphead says as Moonshine and his mob tried attacking the cup trio as they dodged.
"I guess Penny helped them." Chalice says.
"I think we can handle it, then we go see if Luke needs help." Mugman says.
"Yeah." Cuphead says, dressing up as Dirk Dangerous.
Meanwhile…
"Hey Cosmic buddies, shouldn't you be doing something to help Luke?" Oliver asked Angry Luigi and Alem tuber.
"Nope." Angry Luigi says as Alem tuber smirks.
"Finally, some action!" Alem tuber says and rushes off as Angry Luigi groans and speeds off. Emma rushed off.
"Um, someone stole my power-ups." Angry Luigi says.
"Yeah, Bill's lab was invaded." Emma says.
Meanwhile, Lola leaped and kicked Fashion Bandit Bianca and smirked as Lucy looks at Luke, who still looked annoyed as he was beating Card Shark until he couldn't move.
"You wanna finish this now?" Lucy asked.
"Yeah, we shall stay away from my boyfriend." Penny says as Angry Luigi and Alem tuber seemed to be late. She held a rocket launcher.
"Penny, wait!" Kat and Ana say as she shot a rocket at Wild Card Willy, but Kat slashed the rocket in half, diffusing it so it would not damage the mall.
"I'll handle this. Luke, go." Master Mantis says
"Thank you, old dude." Luke says and leaves as Master Mantis incapacitated them all, using vital blows and standing on them.
"Lesson over." He says
"That was amazing, master!" Young Cricket says.
"I'm so sorry!" Penny sobbed, looking at Shane.
"You tried to hurt Sasha without getting to know her and you nearly hurt me in the process." Shane says. "And nearly put me out of a job."
"I know, I'm really sorry." Penny sniffled.
"Join us on Saturday after I'm done with work. This way, you can actually get to know Sasha instead of treating her like a stranger." Shane says. "And I forgive you."
At 3:55, Luke was getting ready for his ice cream party, giggling as he was possibly thinking of what would happen during it.
The siblings were finishing up the decorations and the setup. The entire place was rented out for the party, meaning it would be closed to the public, but open for Luke and all his party guests and siblings. The staff would be at their disposal for the entire party duration.
Soon, it was time as Luke got ready for his entrance. Charity took the stage.
"Sweeter than a scoop of vanilla, more amazing than the sight of a hot fudge sundae, and the scoop of peppermint that makes us all feel so cool…may I present the star of this sweet party and the birthday boy himself, Luke Flynn Huntington!" Charity says.
Luke enters the party, and takes center stage, doing the Ice Cream Freeze dance with the Oakley Academy high school dance team the way he practiced it.
Everyone cheered as they loved what they were seeing. Luke was taking it all in.
He finished as they loved it.
Soon, the party began with gifts as he opened Oliver's gift first.
"Wow! Rock crystal candy sticks! These look good, thanks!" Luke says to Oliver. He then sees Griffin's gift and opens it.
It was a new winter hat, which he definitely needed. Luke grinned when he saw it was Ace Savvy-themed.
Emma gave him mittens as a gift as he smiled.
He then found his gift from the cheer squad and opened it. He teared up and threw it at Oliver.
"So, this is the thanks I get for being squad captain?!" Luke hissed. "IN THAT CASE, YOU'RE WELCOME!"
"The birthweek is ruined…" Lucy thought.
They gasped, realizing they spelled his name wrong on the uniform.
"It was a mistake!" they say.
"How did you spell his name?" Luna asked.
"Luk…" they say regretfully.
Lucy used magic to fix it. "There. Problem solved." she says as it now says The greatest cheerleading captain- Luke Huntington. Luke peeks out of the bathroom, sniffing.
"See? All better." Lucy says.
"Y-You guys do…do appreciate me…" Luke sniffs.
After gifts, it was time to make sundaes.
"Sweets!" Everyone says, seeing the ice cream sundae bar. Luke looked away.
"Honey, are you sure you're okay?" Charity asked Luke as she sat next to him.
Luke's was the biggest, but he only took one bite and looked down.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"ARE THEY HERE TO CELEBRATE ME OR ARE THEY JUST HERE TO EAT MY CAKE BEFORE I DO?!" He hissed.
"They're here for you, but let them have fun. Besides, the cake is for last." Charity says as she holds her son. Luke just sulks and eats his birthday sundae. He then walks off when Lori's baby is mentioned once again.
Oliver and his siblings give Luke a show after ice cream sundae time. Luke sniffed and liked what he was seeing.
Luna then performed a song, then Luan performed a show with her dummy. After that, Lucy reads a poem. Luke cracked a smile at all of this.
After the entertainment, Luke walked off to be alone for a bit. He looked down at his feet before taking out his phone and hissing at it.
Lucy sighed and thinks about suicide. She failed Lynn and then she failed Luke. they would be better off without her. "I'll take Luke's advice and go to Lynn." She sniffed.
"You didn't fail him and nothing is your fault." Charity says with an exasperated sigh.
Everyone was dancing and playing games to pass the time.
Luke hissed as he threw his phone. All he could see were posts about Lori's upcoming shower and Shane's upcoming album now.
"Stupid baby shower…" Luke hissed. The album Shane had coming out was a collaboration album he recorded with him, so he wasn't against that.
Lucy sees this and glared at Lori. "You should have just stayed at that university and never came back. Your baby shower is ruining Luke's week. You know how hard it is to keep Luke happy with everything trying to make him miserable. He only actually smiles like a few times a year, so no baby shower this week. It's canceled." Lucy says.
Lori sighed, feeling guilty.
Charity finally had enough and took Lucy aside. Lucy looked down.
"You need to stop your attitude problem." Charity says.
"But everyone is trying to make Luke miserable. Seeing him miserable makes me miserable." Lucy says.
"Even so, you need to stop copping attitudes every time Luke gets upset. Most if it isn't even your fault. You know this!" Charity says. "Yet you blame yourself when Luke cries."
Lucy frowned.
With Marcy, she tries to make Luke smile. Luke looks up at Marcy.
"Lukey, will you give me a big smile?" Marcy asked him.
"We want a big, bright smile from the birthday boy!" Anne says.
"No, no, no!" Luke sobbed, throwing his fit.
"Come on, Lukey, it's your birthday! Yes, it's true!" Marcy says. Luke finally smiled for Marcy and Anne.
"There's a smile!" Marcy says.
Soon, he danced with Marcy, who did all she could to keep him smiling.
Later, they play games, which Luke smiled at, even though he couldn't win the prizes.
Marcy and 9-Volt seemed to be neck and neck.
"I dare you to put your title on the line against me." Marcy says as everyone gasped as Ashley wanted to see 9-Volt lose to a girl that wasn't his own mother. Luke was actually willing to see this. Then again, 5-Volt was his mother and if she entered, well, she would probably have taken the title. But, this time, it was between Marcy and 9-Volt.
"You're on." 9-Volt says.
They played a bunch of video games as both didn't seem to quit.
"Okay, Mario Party! You can't beat me!' 9-Volt says
"The game that broke a couple of friendships." Sasha says.
"You're on!" Marcy says.
After a bit, Marcy beat 9-Volt at his own game.
"Yes!" Marcy says as she sees Kat and Ana had fallen asleep, same with Melony.
"Nice job!" Sasha says.
"Way to go, Mar-Mar!" Anne says.
Later, it was snack time.
"Don't worry, I'll win it back. All I gotta do is keep grinding." 9-Volt says.
Luke was allowing Marcy to feed him. He was quiet as he ate.
"What's wrong?" Marcy asked.
"I don't know anymore!" Luke cried. "I just want things to be better! I only fought on this day so the innocents would be safe! And then I learned the real reason why I had to fight villains today!"
Lucy holds him and lets him be alone for a bit. Penny looked ashamed.
Luke was outside the ice cream shop. He stayed there for 30 minutes. He then hissed at the sky and kicked the air. Charity came out. "Sweetie, why are you so upset?" She asked him.
He explained. "ONE good birthday! That's all I wanted!" Luke screamed.
"We failed…" Lucy says to her siblings as they hear. She began to grow mentally unstable.
"Thanks a lot, Penny." Sasha says.
Shane looked away from Penny. "I think we should break up for real this time. You really hurt Luke and blew your second chance with me." he says.
Penny sniffed and ran out of the ice cream shop, feeling heartbroken because she lost Shane for good and guilty because she let her jealousy control her.
Luke sobbed and flew off.
"What should we do?" Leni asked Charity.
"Go after him." She says. Lucy flew after him, but was sent flying out cold by his tears as she crashed badly.
"The spell charm…" Lucy says as it broke.
"And there goes the Lucy you loved. Back to the old Lucy." Haiku says.
"Eh?" Luan asked.
"She used a charm to give herself emotions." Haiku says as Lucy was really injured.
"Mom, you go after him." Lola says.
"Yeah, we're too young." Lisa says.
"Me and Luan will." Luna says as she and Luan fly off to find Luke.
They waited for a bit before they landed. Luke was in a sad mood.
"Luke…" Luna says as Luke calmed down enough to see her.
"Luna…" Luke sniffed.
"What's wrong, dude? Do you feel like telling us?" Luna asked.
"You can tell us." Luan says.
Luke tells them everything from Lori taking his spotlight to Penny deliberately trying to hurt Shane. And how he just wanted one good birthday. The two of them pitied Luke as Luna patted his back.
"Tomorrow will be horrible, I know it!" He screamed as Luan held his hands. "All I get today is a burnt-out spotlight and a fight summons! The only good things about today were getting to have a nice breakfast with Marcy and the zoo trip with Kat and Ana."
"Don't you want to see the rest of your party?" Luan asked him. "Maybe it'll make you feel better and you'll forget about the bad stuff."
Luke sniffed and nodded as he went back with them.
They bring him back as his favorite movie star was there. Luke squealed, excited.
"River McClaine, in the flesh! Oh, my goodness!" Luke says.
"Hello, Luke!" he says.
Luke smiled at him. "Hi!" Luke says.
Luke got River's autograph and giggled before seeing a highlight reel about him, just his best moments. Luke gasped and grinned at this. Marcy saw him smile.
"Do you feel better, Lukey?" Marcy asked him. He nodded and kissed Marcy.
Soon, Luke wanted his piñata as he saw an ice cream cone piñata. He smiles at this.
"Do you want to break it open?" Luna asked him. Luke nods as he goes to break it with Marcy, and after a few good hits, candy and assorted ice cream-themed toys pour out of it as Luke grabs his share of it all.
Marcy sat down and began eating some of her candy. Luke sat with her.
Luke wanted to watch his favorite movie, but Charity suggested doing that at his sleepover. Luke accepted that.
Some time later, Luke waits for his ice cream cake, but doesn't see it or his guests at all. Even Marcy had slipped off unnoticed. Luke just closed his eyes and sniffed.
Soon, the lights turn off. Luke cries as the lights turn on to show everyone around a Reese's ice cream sheet cake with little ice cream toys on it. Luke didn't open his eyes.
"Luke, you can open your eyes now…" Marcy says.
Luke sniffed and slowly opened his eyes as he saw the cake sitting before him. "F-For me?" He asked. "Is this my birthday ice cream cake?"
"It sure is!" Luan says.
"Don't you just love it?" Remy asked.
The cake said Seventeen Sure Is Sweet! Happy Birthday, Luke Flynn Huntington! in pristine white icing. 17 ice blue candles were placed around the perimeter of the cake.
"I love it…" Luke says as everyone soon begins to sing to him. He smiled and took it in as Mona and Leni recorded this.
Soon, he thinks of a wish as he faces the cake and candles. He wishes for tomorrow's celebration to be perfect as he blows out all 17 candles on the cake as cheering ensues.
Later, Marcy fed Luke as Luke smiled at her. This party did get better. He truly did hope tomorrow would be better.
