Lost in Space: "Wanted Man…"

Summary: Smith's past…And the Space Tribunal catch up with him.

Stranded once again due to needed repairs on an unknown planet in a star system far from Earth (or Alpha Centauri), the Robinson, Major West, Dr. Smith, and the Robot are about to encounter an old foe. Several, actually.

Part 6…

The Robot, leading the group,pauses…

"Robot? It's that way…"Will, just behind with Smith, points. John with laser rifle taking up the rear.

"I don't see why we had to come so soon, they said two hours after sunrise. No need to hang about…" Smith notes. "I prefer to get the lay of the land first…" John.

"Something is approaching…" The Robot points an arm. "My sensors recognize…"

"Mr. Farnum!" Will cries happily as the figure approaches.

"Ah, Will Robinson…Professor…You, whatever you are…And Robot." The alien impresario Farnum B in his trademark suit and plastered hair beams at them. "What a delightful reunion!"

"Mr. Farnum? What are you doing here?" Will asks as he comes to them, offering a hand to John, a smile to Will…A stare to Smith.

"Farnum. " John shakes hand. "Not to be abrupt but…"

"Yes, yes…I know. What am I doing here? Well…" Farnum begins.

"Dr. Smith! Oh!" a tall brunette approaches eagerly, waving to Smith. "Hey, kid." She offers Will quick smile.

"Miss Pi-Square?" Will stares as she hugs Smith fervently.

"My dear…Ohhh." Smith groans.

"Oh, doc…Dr. Smith, sorry." She releases him, beaming. Will and John staring. The Robot turned to look.

"That's why." Farnum sighs.

"So, Don…Can you forgive me?" Judy calls through door. "I didn't know what I was saying last night."

"Sure, Judy." Don, nodding. "I just hope you understand I can't let you out just now."

"No, that's fine. It's probably best. Are Dad and Will going to be ok?"

"And…Smith?"

"Don…" reproving tone.

"Sorry. They were fine at last check in."

"Good."

"Don?" Maureen's voice. "Can you tell us anything else?"

"That's all I know, Maureen." He replies. "Just what I've told you. There seems to be an alien influence at work here and as usual it involves Smith. John's hoping the other aliens can give us a few answers, we'll see."

"I wish he'd left Will behind." She sighs. "But all about Dr. Smith? These alien women…?"

"Wish I could tell you, Maureen." Don shrugs. "Something strange is going on, that's all we know right now."

"So strange…" Maureen.

"Don?!" Penny cries as a bit of smoke moves from under her compartment door, alarm blaring on… "I think there's a fire in my …!"

"Don?! What's happening?!" Maureen cries. "Don?!" Judy cries.

"All right, Penny! Back away from the door,I'll get the fire…" he facing her door fails to see Maureen's door fly open, she quickly moving to knock him out with the tray she'd planned to use on John.

"Come out, Penny…That was very good, dear." Maureen addresses Penny, opening door. Penny revealing a safety flame lighter and slightly burned but water-soaked on edges and now out piece of paper.

"Let me out!" Judy calls. Penny hesitating. "Let her out, we'll need her." Maureen nods, reaching to pick up laser pistol from Don's belt.

"Don?" Judy looks at the unconscious Don.

"He's alive, dear." Maureen nods. "Put him in my room and lock the door. " Judy dragging him…

"Penny? It may be dangerous outside. Get us two more laser pistols. Then we can go for a walk to see Dr. Smith." Calm smile, Penny nodding.

"So, your assistant suddenly insisted she had to go find Dr. Smith and commandeered your ship?" John eyes Farnum who shrugs.

"That is about the size of it…" Farnum eyeing Nancy Pi-Square, currently fonding beaming at Smith who'd begged her to release him.

"I really did think she might kill me, the great Farnum B, so I complied. Fortunately just after we landed I managed to distract her and get her gun away. But, suspecting you all might be in danger, and rather curious about this incident…"

"The Tribunal is blocking any ship from leaving this planet…" Miss Pi-Square notes. "But to be fair, the Boss was concerned for you. Sorry if I frightened you, dearest, dearest doc…And you, kid."

"No problem." Will shakes head.

"You might provide a warning next time, my dear." Smith frowns. "You had my dear boy William scared half out of his wits."

"Sorry, darling…Dearest." Nancy eyes him eagerly. "What can I do to make it up to you?"

"We wouldn't mind some answers…" John suggests. Nancy briefly eyeing him.

"Uh…As the Professor says, my dear…" Smith urges.

"I don't know. I just suddenly pictured you, that last moment we had together…"

"We barely spoke, my dear girl." He eyed her.

"Oh, but how you spoke, doc. Zachary. May I…?"

"You most certainly may not." Smith firmly.

"Smith…" John, sternly…Coming to him.

"Best to speak politely to the lady." He hisses. "She may know more and we don't know how powerful she is. Farnum?"

"Oh, quite harmless…Unless crossed." Farnum nods.

"Well, perhaps Dr. Smith, if you wouldn't mind." Smith to the crestfallen Miss Pi-Square who immediately beams at him.

"So, we have another woman or reasonable facsimile of, who once met Smith, in love with him, supposedly." John notes. "Unless this is a gag or a promotion, Mr. Farnum?" eyeing the alien who frowned.

"Certainly not, Professor Robinson. I'm as concerned as you about this. After all, Miss Pi-Square has been my companion and associate…"

"Off and on again lover…Oooh, sorry kid." Nancy, apologetically to Will.

Ah…hemmn. "Well…" Farnum shrugs.

Every man needs love, folks. Even the great Farnum B.

"Very strange." John notes.

"Stranger still if you knew I'd hit her with enough tranquillizer as you Earth people call it, to knock out an Alovian snow monster. Which by the way, the Great Farnum B has in his choice selection of exotic creatures, on one year contract. Actually they're quite lovable except…When crossed." Farnum notes to Will.

"Which is why I'm not trying to teleport us outta here, darling." Nancy notes to Smith, gently stroking his hand. "I don't think I can drive. And why I'll refrain from trying to grab your human friend's laser rifle…I might not shoot straight. But I will appeal to you, my darling…" she, beaming to Smith. "Come away with me. I'm one of the Galaxy's top agents…Well, top hundred million…And I could take care of you in style."

"Uh…" Smith nervously looking about him, then to the Professor.

"Miss." John, kindly. "Dr. Smith has been summoned by the Space Tribunal to face charges brought by other space women. He'll be in great trouble if we don't show."

"Oh? Doc, is that so?!" anxious tone.

"Indeed, my dear. And any help you could offer…"

"Let me at em!" she cries. "I'll get you a deal. Leave it to me!"

"She is very good, at times." Farnum nods, sighing…Glare at Smith.

"And I'll work for free, darling…No commission." Nancy, fondly to Smith.

"You're hired!" Smith, quickly.

Uh, boy…Don groggily awakening…Looking about the bedroom compartment…

His eyes see a clipboard, Maureen's list of daily chores and assignments…Oh, Geesh, reading on notes section…

"Never fear my beloved Smith is here. Never fear, my beloved Smith is here…" on and on down the page.
