After asking Ginny to the ball Harry headed back to the common room and Ginny went to meet up with Luna. After giving the fat lady the password he walked through the portrait hole. Once he did he couldn't help but think it felt tense. And he was right about the tense part. Hermione tried to pull Ron back but her efforts were fruitless as he stalked towards Harry and bellowed, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING WITH MY SISTER, POTTER?" Harry was taken aback by Ron's sudden outburst.

All Harry managed out was "Huh?"

He couldn't believe what he was hearing and was shocked that Ron was angry over this. But at the same time he couldn't help but feel stupid that he hadn't realized sooner that he would be upset by this or that Ron would lash out. He was also quite surprised by Ron's temper; he knew he had one but still didn't change that he was surprised that he was screaming in his face. Yes Ginny was Ron's younger sister and he was protective of her but that didn't mean he wasn't surprised by the fact that Ron was upset by this. Honestly in a way it did make sense Ginny was his only sister and he cares strongly for his family but it also didn't give him the right to scream in his face before hearing reason.

And what if the rumors were wrong and Ron screamed in his face for no reason? Harry felt an anger bubble inside of him. How could he? He was angry that he was taking his sister but wouldn't see reason and wouldn't even let him explain? Some mate he is. Harry tried to take a deep breath; he didn't want to blow up on Ron even blew up on him. It wouldn't make it better. His breathing continued to be a bit harsh but eventually. He thought he would be happy since he found a date. And Ron's best mate was Harry and he thought that Ron would know he would never do anything to intentionally hurt Ginny. He really liked her and the time they had spent together wasn't as awkward as it once was. They both felt comfortable around one another and started to form a bond with each other. He considered her a good friend of his already even in the short amount of time they'd been talking. He knew Ron was angry that he was taking Ginny to the ball but he couldn't help but wonder why.

Before he could ask why or before either of them spoke the twins said, "Now, now Ron leave harrykins alone." Said Fred.

George continued with, "Would you rather him take her than some bloke you don't trust?"

Ron's anger cooled and settled, he turned to Harry and said, "Yeah I guess you're right. Sorry mate."

"It's alright, Ron just talk to me first instead of yelling." He nodded understandingly.

The twins started to walk away when they turned back and called, "Hey Ron,"

"Yeah?" Ron asked as both he and Harry turned towards Fred and George.

"Even if you don't approve, you know she would totally hex you with the bat-boy-hex, right?" Fred said and George continued with, "So if I were you be careful, she may be small but she got even a worse temper than you." Fred winked at Harry, he tried to stifle a laugh as did the rest of the common room as Ron paled. Harry thought to himself, 'I'm going to have to watch out for her temper, not to ever make her mad.'

Harry may have been angry as his best friend they still made up but despite the anger he felt momentarily he couldn't help but smile he refrained from doing so earlier. Ron had apologized once more and said it wasn't his business in other words he wouldn't try anything which was good for Harry. Plus Ginny, Hermione, and the twins would have threatened him. He didn't want Ron to stop being friends with him again, he really was one of his only friends, he hoped they wouldn't have anymore problems. Harry thought he should go see Ginny (despite what had just happened he wanted to see how she was doing) The only problem was he wasn't sure where Luna had been. He especially didn't know where to look. He walked out of the common room and was about to turn away when he almost bumped into her again.

"Oh, hi Harry." She looked startled but regained her composure.

Harry gave her an apologetic look as he said, "Sorry I didn't mean to bump into you but I was actually looking for you. I wanted to talk to you about something."

Her smile dropped which confused Harry 'did she think something wrong?'

"Is everything okay?" She asked.

"Yeah aside from the fact that your brother-"

"Let me guess Ron said something didn't he?"

"Yeah."

"Oh wow I wasn't expecting for the rumors to spread that fast I didn't realize anyone saw us. I'm sorry I didn't warn you about this. I should have known something like this would happen."

"It's okay, don't worry. Harry said reassuringly.

"But on a good note the twins did mention your famous bat-bogey-hex and that shut him up real quickly."

"I'm guessing you're not too happy with him at the moment."

Harry sighed, "I forgave him, I'm just annoyed with him is all."

"I understand."

Suddenly her cheeks reddened as she asked, "I-I was a-already h-heading that way but I was wondering if you wanted to join me to go to Hogsmeade?" She stuttered but talked clearer by the end of it. She fidgeted with her bag and averted his eyes.

Harry rubbed the back of his neck and his cheeks flushed, "Uh yeah I'd really like that." He couldn't understand why he kept feeling this way around her. She met his gaze and smiled warmly at Harry.

The pair walked towards the shops where they visited numerous shops including Zonkos and Honeydukes. Ginny bought Bertie Bott's beans. While Harry bought a chocolate frog and a few other treats. They also looked at No melt ice cream, trick wands, chocolate wants, and even a bewildering can of mysteries. After heading out of Zonkos and Honeydukes Harry and Ginny strolled around Hogsmeade until he came across a shop and in the window of the shop he found a sapphire gold chain necklace. He couldn't help but think it would look beautiful on Ginny. He turned towards the redhead, "Ginny?"

"Yes?"

"Thank You for inviting me to really enjoy spending time with you today."

"Your welcome Harry. I've really enjoyed my time with you as well."

Harry smiled and reached to give her hand a comforting squeeze. She looked down at their intertwined hands and smiled softly.

"I'll be back in a few minutes. There's something I need to get. Can you meet me with the three broomsticks?"

"Sure."

"But what do you need to get?"

Harry smiled mischievously, "It's a surprise." Ginny looked taken aback but nodded reluctantly, she untwisted their intertwined hands and headed to the three broomsticks.

Harry raced inside the store; he didn't really care; he didn't want to make Ginny long for him. He wasn't sure if the necklace would even match her dress but he thought I'd look beautiful on her.

Harry walked in the store and swiftly made his way to the counter. The owner sat behind the counter. He looked up from his daily prophet newspaper and greeted Harry, "What can I do for you, young man?'

"Hi yes can I get that sapphire or blue necklace you have in the window there?"

"Yes of course now that'll be 10 gallons." Harry nodded and handed the man the gallons. The owner walked away from the counter and took the necklace that was held in a velvet case and closed it shut and handed it carefully to Harry.

Harry took it from the man, carefully and thanked him. "Thank You."

"You're welcome." The owner said as he walked towards the door and out of the store.

Harry made his way to the three broomsticks and was surprised to find Malfoy and his goons taunting her. Harry wanted to step in but he didn't need to, "I don't care who your father is or your blood purity is but I'm a proud Weasley and you can suck it, alright!" Said Ginny angrily, she pointed her want towards Malfoy's face.

Malfoy laughed mockingly, "Does the little Weasel think she can take me? Well she's about to be pro-" Before he could say anything else casted the bat bogey hex on Malfoy. Malfoy and his goons scrambled away. Harry smiled triumphantly, he was proud that she stood up to Malfoy. He knew if anyone could I'd be her and he was glad she did. Harry walked up to her and said proudly, "That was amazing, Ginny!"

A crowd formed around her and others cheered but Madam Rosmerta ushered the crowd away. Ginny looked thankful for that and said to Harry, "Thank You." She was proud of herself and Harry thought she should be.

Harry expression during solemn as he sat down next to her.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I'm sorry you had to deal with Malfoy,"

"It's okay not your fault, remember stop being a noble git." Ginny whispered and Harry laughed.

'Alright, alright."

"Good, it's settled then."

Ginny frowned as she looked at what was in Harry's hand. "What are you holding?"

"Um well I got you something I'm not sure if it'll look good with your dress to the ball but I thought you would look beautiful if you would wear it?"

Ginny looked shocked, "Really?" she asked

"Yes." Harry said simply.

"Is it for me? You got it for me?"

"Mmm." Harry nodded. Harry delicately handed it to her. She opened the case and gasped. "Oh my gosh, thank you Harry, it's beautiful!" She leaned in and kissed his cheek. Harry blushed as her lips pecked his cheek. She blushed as well from the close contact she murmured once again, "Thank You."

Harry nodded, "Would you like me to put it on you?"

Ginny nodded. Harry stood up behind her and unclipped the necklace and latched it together around her. Harry moved back to his seat and smiled at her and Ginny could help but return the smile.
