Same time Konoha
Naruto was bored. Not on any mission and busy with helping Bill and Fleur with their home. The two having asked him it had indeed given him something to do. Especially since Fleur had promised him some of her strawberry tarts. They were the best things he had ever eaten, second only to ramen. She had smiled at his words and said she was happy to give him some whenever she made it.
Their marriage was going to be held back with the Weasley family in the west and such and Naruto of course was invited to go along with his teammates. But who would he bring? Not really interested in Sakura-chan like he used to be anymore. She was more like his best friend. The rosette knew everything about him. Even the fox…
Yeah, he finally told her about what was done and who his dad was. Startled at first, she just popped him upside the head and yelled at him about not telling her sooner. Having been his teammate for so long the pinkette knew that he was not the demon. In fact, she had wanted to scold the demon herself for giving him a tough time.
Of course, the fox took that as a challenge and brought them both in. This time though unlike his usual malevolent self, he was sociable. Raised both their suspicions, but in her scolding and hitting of the cage, the fox was impressed. The girl had balls to stand up to him. He had to respect that.
When he had kicked them out and into their own bodies Sakura had looked at him and asked a simple question.
"Is he always like that?"
The blonde pretty much shook his head, lately he has been actually…well actually pretty cool. Even a little helpful in suggestions on the whole thing with the Rasengan. Before he had gone this time, the pervy sage had shown him his dad's notes. His old man had died before he could finish it, but he had all sorts of theories on adding elemental chakra to it. Even Kakashi-sensei knew and did his best to explain what he remembered.
Now as to his team, he groans in irritation and a little anger. The council had decided, (mostly that Danzo) to give them a new teammate. Some guy named Sai. Automatically both he and Sakura wanted to kill him. He had called her ugly, which made her mad. And him? Well used to a lot of names but the comparison of certain things and people. That ticked him off. Yamato had to use his mokuton to hold both of them back.
Still though they were stuck with him. He had to admit Sai had some interesting jutsu to say the least. His drawing coming to life was pretty cool. But his personality left a lot to be desired.
"Naruto, are you here?"
Turning to look at the painting, he sees the image of his father. The painting smiling, he gestures for Naruto to grab a chair and sit with him.
"Kushina is busy visiting Tsunade with Harry's mom and dad," he stated. "And Kakashi tells me that Jiraiya-sensei challenged you to finish the Rasengan."
Grinning now, he nods his head happily. "Yeah. Kakashi told me about the stuff you did and well failed at it." He snickers. "Said you were responsible for the decimation of a forest I hear."
An embarrassed look comes across the painting as he rubs the back of his head. A mannerism he admits he himself has. The two look at one another sheepishly. Minato, despite being a painting, looks at the teen with honest regret, "You know I still find it hard to understand why…"
"Why what?"
"Why did I do that to you?"
Confused for a second, Naruto realizes what he is talking about and makes a sound of sorrow. "You had to. According to records, the fox got out. You sealed it in me and in yourself before you died. It was to save everyone." He said quietly.
"I see." The image said softly. But then looking at the boy he gives a smile. "I'm proud of you."
"You are?"
An amused look at the confusion on his face. "Indeed, I am, you are my son, and you lived through everything that happened to you, from what I understand. Shows you are a fighter just like your mother."
"What about me?"
A red headed woman comes into the picture, she sits beside the blond image with happiness. Staring at her son, she eyes him with a motherly look. Despite not having had him yet when she was alive or at least as she remembers. She already loved him very much. "So…what are you talking about?"
"How much of a fighter he is like you." Her husband replies proudly. "Considering what he's been through he is an Uzumaki through and through."
"Aww honey." Pouncing on her husband with kisses, she giggled as Naruto covered his face.
"If you are going to do that, please go inside the house." Both laughing as they celebrate, Kushina smiles warmly as she looks at him. "Minato is right, we Uzumakis are fighters."
Continuing to talk animatedly with them as they were his parents. Time went by for Naruto. Minato coming and going as Tsunade needed him for this and that, it was a good day. Missing his cousin, Naruto had decided to go and pester Kakashi for some training. Looking all over for a good hour, the blonde finds him sitting surprisingly at the ramen stand with Tonks. Having met her when she first arrived, he honestly liked the woman.
Right now, she was the official wizard assigned to their team as a test. Training with them in her own way, Tonks was mostly amazed by Sakura. The pinkette beaming with pride as the woman shifted her hair to that bright pink of hers, the two had bonded over being strong women in their fields.
While Tonks did not have their strength and power. She more than made up for it in strategy and temper. Kakashi was still trying to get her first name out of her as she had threatened Moody if he spilled the beans. She was also the only other one Harry and Naruto talked to about what his family had said to the blonde in the afterlife.
Not sure to believe it at first, the shapeshifter listened and with the seriousness in their words she believed. Between her and Kakashi both of them promised if they had the chance they would listen for news on where Sirius could be. Remus was also aware, therefore all the Inuzukas if out on missions would also keep their eyes and ears to the ground. Considering they now consider the older man a pack brother.
He had told them of Sirius and what he and Harry's father had done for Remus when he needed them the most. So even though not there, they considered the missing wizard a pack brother. It also helped in the fact that Remus had kept something of his longtime friend. With the nose he has now developed he could detect the faint scent of his friend. Considering it was still growing Tsume and her children had immediately sniffed as well as the rest of his clan.
They could sense the differences as Kiba had been able to smell something similar to Harry and an unknown. Considering James had also held onto that item for a brief time the other smell was Sirius. A wide grin as they had hoped that maybe they could bring him home soon.
In the meantime, though, he sits next to the couple in thought as he orders himself a special. He was a bit hungry after all.
Grinning widely at his favorite customer, Naruto smiles as Tonks greets him.
"What's up Naruto?" Her hair is still a bright pink, her eyes turn a bright blue. Grinning at her, he responds with gusto as the bowl is placed in front of him.
"Bored to be honest." He replied as he slurped up some noodles. Before he could speak up even further, he gave Kakashi a look as the man's one eye looked at him warily.
"Do I need to warn ANBU again? They are still irritated with you over the portable swamps."
Cracking up, she looks at the blonde with a knowing look." Let me guess Fred and George?"
Nodding his head, he has to admit the two while they were here had taught him much. They were indeed his masters in pranking as he was promised. The two while they were here had taught him much of what their things could do. And what would happen with a couple of combinations.
Of course, with their help he had tested what they taught him on ANBU. And it was the funniest thing he had ever seen. His memory of their reactions had made him on guard while he was out and about.
Chatting amicably with her and Kakashi about the pranks, the copy nin had looked at him with curiosity. "Say how's the Rasengan coming along?"
"Rasengan?"
Eyes lighting up, he looked at the woman with a big smile. "It's one of my jutsus." Naruto replied proudly. "The pervy sage taught it to me, it was my d-." Almost blurting out it was his dad's; the blonde was stopped by his sensei quickly. About to say something else, it is when they were approached by Sai and another man that Kakashi recognized.
"Yamato?"
"Senpai."
Sakura coming up behind them, the girl looked at the other three with a glint in her eye. "One of our people had sent word that they knew where Orichimaru might be hiding out at the moment. The blonde bolting right in front of her within a blink of an eye, the pink haired girl smiled and nodded. :"It's been reported Sasuke is with him."
"Time to go and get him." A determined expression in his features, he looks to Kakashi who nods his head. And despite having no idea who he is Tonks agreed as well.
"Indeed, and I take it you are here joining us?" Taking a look towards Naruto, the blonde and Sakura both tell her about their missing friend. The woman nodded and understood their desire to bring him home. The same for her and many wizards who need the missing Black Lord and want him to come home as well.
"With Jiraiya not here, despite the seals, Tsunade wants me to come." His head nodded at what the copy nin was thinking. You see Yamato thanks to Orichimaru and his experiments had developed a Mokuton ability. The young man was the only one who could control Naruto if the fox took over him. The seals Jiriaya made do work up to a certain point. Once a third tail starts manifesting.
It is where Yamato steps in…
And even then, he can only do so much, as Naruto himself was strong in his own right. Compare that to him using the fox's power?
It would take them both to keep the blonde from destroying everything.
Now getting a briefing from Yamato who explained where they were heading. Having given his own report to Tsunade before he left. When Harry went to aid Gaara, he had seen some shinobi with a music sign on their forehead from an area near the border to Grass country. This meant that either Sound Village was in that area, or it meant that one of the Snake's labs was nearby.
Unlike most of Konoha who had thought that he had the one, when he was caught that first and last time he was in the village. The council had found out he had many labs and not just the one that was raided to save children like Yamato years ago.
Now the debriefing done, the two looked to Tonks who already had gotten her broom thanks to Naruto's clones. The woman is already studying a bingo book of well-known missing nins from various villages. She may not be able to do the jutsus but she can mimic anyone. That will be handy should they need to sneak in.
Sai was already ready to go, Naruto and Sakura ran to retrieve what they needed. Tonks already summoning her broom, the witch grinned as Kakashi told her to stick by the three teenagers if things get dicey. They would be able to defend her if she provides them cover with her spells. Agreeing with that plan as the witch was never one to back down, they waited a few minutes more, before the two shinobi returned.
"Alright everyone let's move…"

Konoha/Grass borders
Knowing the proximity to Konoha, he knew his team would come to try and retrieve him, Sasuke was psst. Needing to continue in building his mind against invasion, he was forced to accompany Orichimaru to one of his labs. Primarily as a guard as Kabuto would be busy organizing further experiments on Sirius. That was something he wasn't having though. He needed the older man to join him when he made his move. Already he can sense Kabuto is following him more and more of late, and hence that time was coming to take him and the Snake out of commission. But right now, it was not time.
"Sasuke, I must confess I do have an ulterior motive for coming here."
Already knowing what he was talking about without having to guess, the man was wanting him to take out one of his teammates or Kakashi. Those three held the bonds he had put behind him.
"When?"
"Sometime within the next couple days. I am not going to make it easy on them though." He chuckled. "I want you to capture this wizard whoever it may be with them."
"Hn!"
"Don't be like that, Sasuke-kun." The snake replied. "If my experiments on our dear doggy don't work, I simply need a new one to take his place."
Giving no sign of disagreement, he simply nods his head. He will not bother with this wizard person; it is simply not needed. He already has one waiting, although he does hope he will be in good shape as he does seem stubborn enough to live. Having survived Kabuto as many times as he did, he wasn't really worried.
18 hours later…
"See anything?"
"Nada Hatake." The woman replied from above. On her broom, Tonks disguised herself as a missing nin from the mist. Who currently sat in a cell with Ibiki. Her hair a deep black and her eyes a vibrant blue rather than their usual colors. This particular nin had enough skills that could be mimicked with her wand. Using her own voice, she could get in anywhere. Hell, she already got them the information twice on where to look. Having agreed to take some info that was requested to the Snake was a boon.
Apparently, the snake knew more about the goings on in Konoha than they thought. It spoke about Harry, Bill, and the other wizards and their dealings with the shinobi. What worried them though was the info about Fleur. Being half human, she was essentially a baby maker to some of the villages, all because her mother was a veela.
Not knowing at first, Fleur explained the strength over seduction and beauty that they had. And apparently someone leaked it out. Although it explains to keep an eye for one who is pure like her mother. A couple of the villages wanted one for their use. Plans were made to infiltrate and acquire Fleur or any children she may have in the future unless a better option comes along. Knowing that much was enough for Kakashi to summon a messenger dog to see the Hokage.
Now, they were in the area, and they were looking for an opening somewhere. Keeping an eye out from above and under a notice me not cloak, the twins had left at the Hokage's insistence. The pair was already working on more as they seek out a good shop with aid from Naruto. Having met some of the teenager's friends, they had agreed that the Ichirakus should run the shop as well as their ramen stand when on any missions.
Ayame would be the one primarily doing so which pleased her father. He was glad that his daughter had even further options now and with his help. The young woman should be able to handle it all. Supposedly about two blocks there was a site available, and the twins were going to check it out in a week when they are able to come back.
Now as to TenTen's request, Hedwig had been seen guiding a certain wizard earlier the other day by many. Her new form as a phoenix had made the villagers doubly proud as Fawkes was still seen from time to time flying all over Konoha. Now this particular wizard owned the Quality Quidditch supplies, and Harry had taken the money given and explained what was going on.
Of course, he wanted to meet up with TenTen's father and see about the store and maybe work out a partnership deal. Things were progressing nicely for Konoha.
"I think I see something." Tonks spoke up.
The others listen as she talks of what appears to be a ruined building just up ahead, Kakashi and the others go take a look. Finding it near a bunch of rock formations the three adults look at one another and nod their heads.
In her disguise as she lands, and once again hiding herself, she studies the building and everything around it. Thoughtful to say the least, the witch is joined shortly by Naruto. The blonde liking the woman and her torture of Kakashi. She was already other than his cousin and friends. His favorite witch.
Anybody who keeps his sensei guessing is the best person ever. Watching as she whips out her wand and steps back, she whips out her wand and says one word.
Revelio
Something seems to shimmer all around them. Thus as the rocks and buildings disappear. The reveal a series of interconnected buildings. Rather than the wreckage of a ruined one from before. The shinobi looking at one another, they nod to the witch for her spell that dispelled what appears to be a massive genjutsu. What they found was a series of interconnected buildings. But there was no door. Looking for a way in as it all appeared to be seamless, it took Sai disappearing for them to find it. The Root Ninja disappeared in a certain part of the area.
"Everyone spread out, it stands to reason the Snake knew we were coming." Kakashi stated. "More than likely Sai found something that got him inside."
Looking everywhere, it was Sakura who found it. Looking at the buildings which had some Ivy over it, the girl noticed something looked odd. Barely noticeable, the girl realized it was a switch hidden amongst the leaves. Pushing it in, the wall swung open, the others called they went inside. Tonks remain outside on her broom and would be the lookout. The witch stayed high in the air under the cloak with Kakashi to protect her, this allowing Yamato and the three teens to enter.
Different passages in front of the and not knowing where Sai had gone. The teens looked to Yamato for orders.
"Naruto, use your clones and take those two on the right. Sakura you take this one and I will take this one here and I will take the one on the left."
Nodding their heads the minute Naruto summons a clone, they are off. Running pell mell opening and closing doors looking for not only their friend. But also the Snake and his subordinates. Each tunnel supposedly empty, it is Sakura who speaks up now over their mikes.
"I believe this is a trap/"
"Maybe so, but I know he's here, Sakura. I feel him."
A sound of agreement with him, the teen continues running. Each door busted open, he hears the occasional fight from Sakura and Yamato's ends. He himself is now getting involved in quite a few. Now as he moves, he hears the gasp of Sakura over the coms.
"Sasuke"
