Season 1, Saga 1: New World, Chapter 8: Satellite Swindle
(We go to the Eggman Fortress where Dr. Eggman places a deck of cards in the Selection Machine and pulls down the handle. Three cards showing an air robot appear on the screen.)
"Perfect!" Dr. Eggman said
"What kind of robot is this one?" Rainbow King asked
"You'll know in a moment, for now, I have just the plan for this one." Dr. Eggman said
(The giant air robot is transported on a platform, then an opening appears on the ground. The giant air robot then takes off from the fortress towards space. At Area 99, the patrols have detected it on the computers.)
"What was that? Some kind of rocket maybe?" the Area 99 patrols asked
"What's the word?" the Area 99 military leader asked
"An unknown object was spotted about 5 minutes ago. I'm afraid that's all we know, sir." an Area 99 patrol said
"That Dr. Eggman is up to something. I only wish I knew what it was. Has it been identified?" the Area 99 military leader asked
"I'm afraid not, sir." an Area 99 patrol said
(Back at the Eggman Fortress, Eggman saw the robot has gotten up high enough to space.)
"Well, now, time to have a little fun!" (Pulls on a handle.) "Super Sweeper!" Dr. Eggman said (Super Sweeper pulls out its vacuum and activates it.)
"Super Sweeper!?" Rainbow King asked in panic
(an Alarm at Area 99 sounds causing the patrols to panic)
"What's going on?" the Area 99 military leader asked
"Communications' cut off! Sir, the satellite! Its-" an Area 99 patrol didn't finish
"Gone?!" the Area 99 military leader asked in panic
"Yes, sir." an Area 99 patrol said
"This can't be happening! It's impossible!" the Area 99 military leader said
(Super Sweeper sucks up numerous satellites as Eggman watches from his fortress.)
"Just look at all my shiny, new toys! Ah well, too bad I have to grind them all into robot parts! Who knew recycling can be so much fun?" (Laughs) "And cost-effective?" Dr. Eggman asked
"You know it's not nice to steal from others." Rainbow King said
"Don't bust in on my moment!" Dr. Eggman shouted
(in Area 99, the workers were panicking from losing the satellites while trying to get back the signal.)
"It's getting closer!" an Area 99 patrol said
"We've got to alert the President!" the Area 99 military leader said
(at the Thorndyke mansion, True, Zee, Tails and Chris were watching a show called the Next Show as Cream and Cheese were dancing along with the one known as Next.)
"Y'know what I like to do best, boys and girls? I like to dance!" (begins to dance.) "Dancing's lots of fun, and it's good exercise, too! Hey, I've got an idea! Why don't you dance with me? That's it! Looking good!" Next said
(walks into the room with Amy and places three pies on the table.) "Hi! Snack time, everyone! Here we go!" Ella said
"Ella showed me how to make homemade apple pie." Amy said
(leans over to smell one of the pies and becomes delighted by it.) "They smell really good." True said
"I think our little Amy has quite a knack for baking! I just might be out of the job soon!" Ella said
"Hey, Ella, maybe Sonic would like some pie." Amy said
(licks his lips) "He can have the other one." Tails said
"No, you don't! That pie is for Sonic!" Amy said
"No, Amy!" Tails shouted
(Amy grabs the dish which tosses Tails into the television. The television then receives static.)
"Tails, you broke our TV." Cream said
"I'm sorry…" Tails said
"And that was our favorite program…" Cream said
"Don't worry, Cream, maybe this will help. (Flicks through other channels but they receive static) Okay, guess that didn't work." Chris said
"Now, we can't watch our program!" Cream shouted (Cries)
(comes in from the front door after hearing Cream's crying) "Hey, what's going on?" Sonic asked
"Hi, Sonic. Cream and Cheese are upset because the TV's busted." Chris said
"That's what they're crying about?" Sonic asked
"Uh huh." Zee said
"What do we do? Now, I can't watch my cooking show." Amy said
"Or Mrs Thorndyke in the Movie of the Week." Ella said
(appears from the doorway of the room.) "Or the martial arts matinee." Mr. Tanaka said
"Sorry, Mr. Tanaka." Chris said
(Bokkun laughs as he flies into the house. Amy and Ella grab the pies to keep them from getting ruined for Bokkun to land on the table, while True, Sonic and Chris hide behind the couch in fright.)
"That was a disappointing welcome if you don't mind me saying so." (pulls a TV out) "Got a brand-new message for Sonic from Dr. Eggman, so listen up good!" Bokkun said (puts the TV down and turns it on to play it.)
"Greetings, my little warthog! Sorry if it's being so long since my last message, but I've been such a busy, little bee. Take a look!" Dr. Eggman said (Footage of Super Sweeper sucking up satellites plays.)
"That thing's swallowing up satellites!" Chris said
"And it's ruined our television reception." Mr. Tanaka
"Don't get any ideas, Sonic! After all, I'm only having a little fun. So stay out of it if you know what's good for you! As we speak, my E-90 is floating above the stratosphere, collecting all matter of space junk so that I can make more and more of my ever-so-helpful mechanical friends! Well, what do you say to that?" (laughs) "Pretty soon, you might be obsolete, Bokkun!" Dr. Eggman said (Bokkun cries.)
"What's E-90?" Chris asked
"I don't know, Chris, but I'll bet it's one of Dr. Eggman's robots. I wonder what a stratosphere is." Tails said
(walks into the room from outside with excitement.) "A layer of air miles above us. It's as high as the sky!" (walks over and grabs Bokkun by the head and carries him outside.) "We can do without you, crybaby!" Chuck said
"No! Put me down!" (once outside, an explosion happened causing Chuck to let him go.) "Gotcha!" Bokkun said (Laughs as Chuck walked back inside covered in soot.)
"Looks like that robot's da bomb!" Chris said
(a bit later, the group were in the garage where the Tornado 2 is.)
"Very funny. But this is serious, Chris. Eggman's causing havoc miles above anyone's reach." Chuck said
"I bet the Tornado can get up there." Chris said
"Mmmm…" Tails pondered
"Come on, Tails! Why not? I'm game! Let's go!" Sonic said
"It's the only way to stop it." True said
"Okay, I'm coming." (True, Sonic and Tails jump on the Tornado 2.) "We can do it!" Tails said
"You bet!" Sonic said
"Good luck, you guys. We'll be waiting." Amy said
(back at the Eggman Fortress, Rainbow King and Eggman were playing go fish as they waited for something to load up.)
"Got any... fours?" Rainbow King asked
"Go fish." (drops the cards in surprise from hearing the alarms go off and looked at the screen to see the Tornado heading towards Super Sweeper.) "Huh? E-90, zap those meddlers!" Dr. Eggman shouted (Super Sweeper shoots lasers at the Tornado 2 but the heroic duo avoids them.)
"Move in close!" Sonic said (Super Sweeper attempts to close its mouth only but misses the heroes again.)
"We move too fast for it!" Tails said (Super Sweeper shoots lasers at the Tornado 2 but the heroes evaded them.)
"That was too close!" True shouted
"Don't worry. I think I've got an idea." (The Tornado oscillates around the Super Sweeper as it begins to spin around with it. Rainbow King and Eggman grow dizzy from looking at it.) "Here goes!" Tails said (Tails shoots at Super Sweeper with machine guns, causing the top part of the robot to explode a bit. Super Sweeper continues to soar upward.)
"Stay with it!" Sonic said
"Just hold on tight!" Tails said (Super Sweeper detaches a green segment in an attempt to strike at the Tornado 2 but they avoid it.)
(snaps himself out of it as Rainbow King falls to the ground woozy) "Time for some fireworks." (Super Sweeper shoots missiles but Sonic kicks them away with one hitting Super Sweeper.) "You think you're so smart, don't you? Super Sweeper!" Dr. Eggman shouted (Super Sweeper activates its vacuum.)
"It's sucking us in!" (Tails pulls hard on the lever and they successfully avoid it.) "It's coming up behind us!" True shouted
"I know a way to shake it." (flies behind the clouds to hide from Super Sweeper, but the clouds started to get sucked up.) "I can't believe it. It's swallowing up all the clouds!" (The Tornado 2's propeller explodes and the heroes quickly lose altitude, falling towards the ocean.) "Oh, no!" Tails shouted (Tails pulls hard on the handle and they have just missed the water.)
(Back at Thorndyke Mansion, the group were discussing what happened during their battle with Super Sweeper.)
"It appears that our foe is more powerful than we thought." Chuck said
"Hey, Tails!" Sonic said
"Huh?" Tails asked
"Problem is the Tornado is too slow. So, what you oughta do is to suit this birdie up a little bit." Sonic said
"I could try." Tails said
"Really, Tails?" Zee asked
"Maybe I could use the Chaos Emerald, but there could be a problem. It's all that energy. The Chaos Emerald's got huge amounts of energy. It would only take only a tiny bit to run the Tornado, so all that extra energy wouldn't have anywhere to go, and that could be a real big problem." Tails said (envisions the Tornado 2 exploding from the extra energy of the Chaos Emerald.)
"What do you think, Grandpa?" Chris asked
"We need to find a way to burn off the Emerald's excess energy." Chuck said
"I wouldn't want to just waste it." Tails said
"Do you have any better ideas?" Chuck asked
"Well, we could install a back-up engine. That way, with two engines instead of one, the energy would have another outlet." Tails said
"Do you really think two engines could contain all that power?" True asked
"If we wanna beat Dr. Eggman, it's sure worth giving it a try." Tails said
"In order to install that back-up, we'd have to rebuild the plane. Are you sure you have the know-how to do that, Tails?" Chuck asked
"Well, I've never done anything like this before, but I'll give it a shot." Tails said
"You can do it, Tails! I know it!" Sonic said
"Come with me, Tails. I've got something that might interest you, you too Zee. In fact, I'm certain it will." Chuck said
(Chuck led Zee and Tails into an elevator, the three went down until they reached the bottom.)
"What's this?" Zee asked
(flips a light switch revealing a huge lab.) "It's my secret laboratory." Chuck said
"It's amazing!" Tails said
"I think you'll find everything we need." Chuck said
"Sure!" Tails said
"Now, let's rebuild the Tornado!" Chuck said
"Yeah! We could connect it here." Tails said
"You mean like this?" (Scene changes to Tails working on the plane, and Chuck working respectively as Zee had fallen asleep during it.) "You've been working all day long, Tails. Why don't you take a break?" Chuck asked
"It's okay. I'm almost done." Tails said
"Alright." Chuck said
(Chuck picked Zee up into his arms and headed out of the lab. Tails continued to work on the plane until he heard someone come in and see it was Chris.)
"Want some help?" Chris asked
(The next day. Cream and Cheese were in the living room reading some books until they saw the tv turn on revealing a live show with Eggman voicing it.)
"Good morning! It's time for... the one and only Dr. Eggman Show! This program is coming to you live via a satellite from a beautiful island in the Southern Sea." Dr. Eggman said
"He's scary!" Cream said
"Today's show is brought to you by the amazing Super Sweeper, for a cleaner, safer stratosphere." Dr. Eggman said
"Cue!" Bocoe said (turning on a spotlight.)
"Who's the most brilliant scientist in all the universe?" (Chuckles and dances around) "Why, it's Dr. Eggman!" Dr. Eggman said
(at Area 99, the crew located Super Sweeper in space had sent a wave to all the tvs in the world.)
"Sir, the object appears to have been launched." an Area 99 patrol said
"Then I'm afraid we have no choice but to launch a counter-attack." the Area 99 military leader said
"Yes, sir." an Area 99 patrol said
(back at Thorndyke Mansion, the group were outside the garage as they waited for something to happen.)
"Hey, Sonic!" Tails said
"Did you finish?" Sonic asked
"Yep, we sure did. Come on, I'll show ya!" Tails said
(Everyone gathers. Chuck and Tails nod and Chuck presses a button on his switch. The garage lifts up and reveals the newly-created plane.)
"Presenting X Tornado!" Tails said
(back at Area 99, the crew were preparing their satellites to fire at Super Sweeper.)
"Target locked armed, sir." an Area 99 patrol said
"Fire laser! [All of the satellites fire lasers at Super Sweeper, but the lasers are rebounded away from the robot.] What is happening?" the Area 99 military leader asked
(at Eggman's fortress, Eggman laughed at their attempt from the screen as Rainbow King was worried about what he saw.)
"A feeble attempt at best, my friends! Come on, Super Sweeper! Do your stuff!" Dr. Eggman said (Super Sweeper sucks in all of the satellites with its vacuum.)
(back at Thorndyke Mansion, True, Sonic and Tails were about to head off in the X Tornado.)
"Let's shove off, Tails!" Sonic said
"Hey, Sonic, I was hoping I could go too." Chris said
"Chris, you can't come with us. You know the plane's only a two-seater." Sonic said
"I thought…" Chris started
"Guess I forgot to tell ya. I made a couple of more changes." Tails said (Presses a switch revealing two seats in the back of the X Tornado.)
"I asked Tails if he could put in an extra seat. I hope you don't mind, Sonic." Chris said
"Hmmm…" Sonic said
"Well, Sonic?" Tails asked
"Just so long as you don't get in the way, okay?" Sonic asked
"You got a deal!" Chris said
"X Tornado ready for take off!" Tails said
"Let's clear the runaway! I can't wait! I'm so excited, I could fly!" Chris said
"X Tornado blast off! Here we go!" (X Tornado lifts off the ground.) "Okay, get ready! We're about to enter 'X-Hyper speed mode'!" Tails said
(at Eggman's fortress, the scanners are showing the X Tornado heading towards Super Sweeper as Decoe saw it.)
"Sorry to disturb you, Dr. Eggman, but something is headed straight for E-90, and it sure is fast." Decoe said
"But not fast enough! I'll teach them to sneak up on me!" Dr. Eggman said
(Missiles are fired right at the X Tornado, but the plane swiftly avoids them.)
"Let's do it!" Sonic said (Sonic kicks the missiles away and lands on Super Sweeper. The robot fires lasers at Sonic, but narrowly avoids them.)
"Don't worry, Sonic, I've got your back!" Tails said (Shoots down Super Sweeper's laser guns)
"Thanks, Tails!" Sonic said
(in Eggman's fortress, Eggman was getting furious as Rainbow King was amazed.)
"My word, that new device of theirs is really tough." Rainbow King said
"SONIC! I'll put an end to that hyperactive hedgehog!" Dr. Eggman shouted
(Super Sweeper shoots yellow, thin lasers at the X Tornado.)
"Sonic, Tails can't get any closer!" True shouted (Sonic jumps towards Super Sweeper and destroys the laser guns.)
(back at the Thorndyke mansion, the others were watching the battle from the tv as it was being broadcasted.)
"Isn't Sonic the bravest?" Amy asked
(back in sky, Sonic jumps onto Super Sweeper and nearly loses his balance and grabs onto the robot.)
"Now try and top that." Dr. Eggman said
(Super Sweeper prepares to activate its vacuum.)
"Here we go! Booster switch on! Sonic, watch out! True, hit the button!" Tails said
"Button?" (looks down and sees a button, after pressing it, the rear cockpit began moving as it lifted up with a blaster on both sides of it to appear with two handles to come out in front of True.) "whoa! Okay, let's give this a go." True said (grabs the handles and shoots at the vacuum, destroying it.)
(back at Eggman's fortress, Eggman was shocked from what he saw as Rainbow King was amazed.)
"Astounding! A rotating cockpit on the back! That's terrific!" Rainbow King said
(pushes Rainbow King to the side in anger.) "ALL RIGHT! You want to fight dirty?!" Dr. Eggman asked in rage
(back in the air, Super Sweeper began to rise into space with the X Tornado chasing after it.)
"Just try to get away!" Tails said
(looks behind to see Sonic shivering.) "Sonic looks like he's shivering." Chris said
"That's 'cause we're close to the stratosphere. It's 50-below here, but Sonic can take it." Tails said
(Sonic and various parts of the X Tornado begin to freeze solid.)
"What's going on?" Chris asked
"Everything's A-Okay!" Tails said
"A-Okay!" Sonic said (continues to stay cool until he froze up all the way in ice.)
"Guys, Sonic is frozen solid!" True shouted
"Huh?" Tails asked
(Missiles fire at the X Tornado but the heroes avoid them.)
"Hey, the Ring!" Chris said
"No good! I can't open the cockpit!" Tails said
"But, we've gotta think of something! I can't turn anymore! It's frozen!" True said
(We need to find a way to burn off the Emerald's excess energy.) Tails thought of what Chuck said
"That's it. I've got an idea. Listen carefully, Chris." (presses a button for a compartment to open with a Ring inside it) "Take the ring and connect it to the yellow cable underneath the seat." Tails said
"What's that gonna do?" Chris asked
"There's no time for questions!" Tails said
"O-okay!" Chris said
(The X Tornado dodges missiles. Chris places the ring onto the yellow cable. The ring glows and thaws out the ice surrounding the X Tornado and Sonic.)
"Watch out, Eggman, I'm all warmed up! Let's go get 'em, guys!" Sonic said
"Yeah!" Tails said
(Sonic destroys a group of missiles and destroys Super Sweeper by spinning into it.)
"Yeah! Alright!" Tails and Chris said (Respectively)
(back at the Thorndyke mansion, the others saw the tv had gone static again.)
"Guess I need to call the cable guy!" Mr. Tanaka said
(back in space, Sonic landed on the front of the X Tornado as Tails and Chris cheered.)
"Alright Sonic! You..." Chris didn't get to say (he and the others then felt the X Tornado shake a bit and looked back to see what was wrong and saw the rear cockpit was spinning out of control.)
"GUYS! HELP ME! I LOST CONTROL!" True yelled in fright
"Guess that auto turn function was a bad idea." Tails said
(Later at the Thorndyke mansion, Sonic is seen with his feet in hot water after being up in space.)
(comes into the room with a bowl of chili.) "Sonic, I made my caliente chili. This will make your tummy nice and warm." Ella said
"You sure told Eggman a lesson, Sonic." Chuck said
"It wasn't me, Chuck. I've just helped out this time. Chris and Tails are the ones that did it. They're the real heroes!" Sonic said
"Yeah!" Tails and Chris said
(hurls in the trash can then lifts her head revealing her face to look a little green) "I'm just glad they're gonna fix that button before the next time one of us uses the rear cockpit of the X Tornado" True said (gags a bit and lowers her head back in the trash can, hurling.)
"Let's celebrate!" (comes into the room with a tray full of small cups of ice cream.) "I've made this ice-cream myself, for the coolest guy around!" Amy said
"Er... Wow, cool!" Sonic said (Shrugs.)
(back at Eggman's fortress, Eggman was looking at the cards of E-series robots in his hands trying to see which one he plans to use next.)
"Which one? Which one?" Dr. Eggman asked himself
(taps on Eggman's shoulder with his scepter.) "Excuse me." Rainbow King said
(turns to Rainbow King in frustration.) "what!?" Dr. Eggman asked in anger
"I was wondering if I could take a look at those cards of your robots, they're quite interesting." Rainbow King said
"Go ahead." Dr. Eggman said (hands the cards to Rainbow King.)
(flips through cards intrigued by each of the cards he looked at.) "I have to say, these robots of yours are really astounding." Rainbow King said
(turns to Rainbow King in surprise.) "really? You know, it's not often someone else likes my E-series robots." Dr. Eggman said
(Rainbow King continues to look at the cards of the E-series robot as his scepter starts to glow a bit.)
