Changes Part 2: Out of Control

In the realm, the author, or rather authors haven't arrived yet. However, the Warners were there, just chilling as they waited for them.

"When are they supposed to get here?" Yakko asks his siblings.

"Uh, I think guardian and number boy are picking up a third guest." Wakko replies in response.

"Hope they arrive soon." Dot comments.

Suddenly, they felt impact tremors generated by footsteps before they heard a sort of laughter that belonged to only one character that the Warners fear. In horror, they see a cartoonish dinosaur that was orange in color with a blue belly, toes, and spots. This character was none other than Baloney as he said to the Warners.

"You make me feel all fun fun, doodledum!"

The Warners screamed in terror before the dinosaur began to squeeze them in a bone crushing hug that he was literally strangling them.

"Have a big, squishy hug."

Soon, the authors arrive and see what is happening.

"What the...?!" 61394 shouts. "Who let him in here?"

"I got two guesses who." guardian1989 replied before using his watch. "Autoguns, online."

The M-197 autogun pops out and swerves around

Scanning for primary target.

"Autoguns, lock on to new target identified as Baloney and fire."

In an instant, the turret locks onto its new target and cocks the barrels, chambering a tranquilizer dart.

Target acquired.

One shot of the dart to the dinosaur's butt was all it took as Baloney got woozy while releasing his hold on the Warners, who were busy catching their breath, as he droned in a slur.

"That's... smarts..."

Baloney drops onto the floor as the gun turret retracts into the wall. The author looks at one of his guests, asking

"Transporter, please."

The guest hands the device before the author activates it, teleporting the unconscious dim-witted dinosaur out of the realm before handing it back.

"Thanks." Yakko said in gratitude as he and his siblings approached.

Pokémon fan 1991 glanced at 61394 and guardian1989 as he asked.

"You let them in here?"

"Number boy there promised them some cameos." guardian1989 stated as he pointed to mentioned guest. "So I decided to help him with the deal."

"So, where did you send him to?" Dot asks.

Pressing a button, a flat-screen TV unfolds from a wall and butter flavor popcorn was prepped as the screen was static.

"See for yourself."

The Warners zip to get the popcorn and to see where the unwanted guest was located.

-In a different realm-

Baloney regained consciousness to find himself in a field of flowers with birds flying around.

"What a neat place. I lovey dovey love it!"

However, when the dinosaur took three steps forward, a comically large anvil that weighed about 2 tons dropped on to Baloney, flattening him. After a few seconds, Baloney laughed as he easily removed the anvil before walking forward three steps, and another anvil dropped on him again.

- Back in the author's realm -

The Warners cringe as they watch Baloney being flattened by anvils repeatedly.

"That's not pretty." Dot comments.

"But gets him every time." Yakko comments in agreement.

Soon, Deadpool enters the realm while whistling before notcing everyone here.

"Yo, what's up, authors!" he greets with his thumbs up.

The merc sees someone missing as he asks.

"Hey, where's my guest?"

"Oh, you mean him?" Wakko asks as he points to the TV screen

Deadpool sees Baloney repeatedly flattened by anvils in a different realm as Wakko's siblings munched on the popcorn while watching the entertainment.

"That's cold. Sending him where he gets flattened by anvils like his computer game counterpart." the merc said.

"Looks like you called it right." pokemon fan 1991 whispered to his host.

"Seriously!" The merc complains. "Why is it that my guest gets the boot while those three little lunatics get to..." Deadpool suddenly gets tense. "D'oh!"

The merc drops onto his stomach unconscious to reveal a dart sticking out from his butt and Yakko holding a tranquilizer rifle.

"Thank you." All three authors said in sync.

After guardian1989 asks for the transporter and teleports Deadpool out before relinquishing it, Dot asks.

"Where'd you send him to?"

"The moon. It was PFN's suggestion." guardian1989 replies while gesturing to his mentioned guest.

- On the moon -

Deadpool was holding his neck as he couldn't breathe due to the lack of oxygen in the cold vacuum of space before dropping onto the lunar surface as he continued to suffer from asphyxiation, despite his healing factor.

- Back with the authors -

"Uh, isn't that a bit extreme?" Wakko asks.

"He'll be back." guardian1989 assures. "He always does."

Soon, the author and his guests take a seat in the theater chairs before guardian1989 asks 61394.

"Want to do the honors, number boy?"

"Sure." 61394 faces the readers. "Time to start some Danny and Rogue shenanigans!"

A week has passed since Undergrowth's invasion, and it was Thursday in the evening. During the aftermath of the recent events, Danny was constantly in the Danger Room practicing his cryomancy ability. He even had Bobby Drake as his sparring partner when it came to having similar abilities with one another. While Bobby could turn into ice and could only form ice through jetstreams and blasts, the ghost boy was able to shape his own ice at will and use it in more versatile ways. Bobby couldn't help but feel jealous, but Danny offered to teach him some new tricks, much to the younger boy's delight.

Meanwhile, inside the gym of the Institute, Scott and Rogue were having a game of racquetball as Rogue served first. Their friendly match was quite competitive as the players used their own stunts. Suddenly, when Rogue leaps onto a wall and hits the ball, Scott tries to intercept with a jump, but he misses and falls to the floor while dropping his racket as well.

"You whooped me good." Scott compliemts as Rogue helps him up.

"Ya stoked about the Cryoshell concert tomorrow-nahght?" Rogue asks.

"Yeah." Scott replied, packing his dufflebag. "Especially since Danny won 4 tickets in that radio challenge."

"Tell meh about it." Rogue comments. "Ah guess Danny and Ah are havin' a double date with ya and Jean, huh?"

Scott shrugged as he said

"If you want to call it that." he departs from the gym as he says to Rogue. "I guess we'll have our rematch next week."

"Sure thang." Rogue replies.

For the goth girl, things felt so surreal for her. In the past, Rogue did have a crush on Scott, but her feelings were only one-sided as she realized his heart was set on Jean Grey. With Danny's arrival as of late, she got to know him on a personal level; slowly, one might add. With the ghost boy, her feelings developed for him in a deeper level as she realized that Danny felt the same way towards her when they went on their first date and she had her first real kiss with him.

Suddenly, after closing the door, Rogue felt a sharp pain in her head as memory flashes of Jean flooded her mind. The intensity caused the goth girl to lean against the wall and slide down to a sitting position as she palmed her forehead.

In an area of the city, a limo was driving through a neighborhood before stopping at a house. As the backseat window opens, there is a cat that notices the limo before crawling towards the vehicle and enters with a jump. Once the animal took a seat, it morphs into none other than Mystique.

"I just got your message and now, I'm here." the shapeshifter said solemnly. "Now, tell me Destiny. What is so important?"

"I've come to warn you, Mystique." Destiny said in a dreaded tone. "I've had disturbing visions about Rogue."

"Explain." Mystique beckoned.

"It was always been clear that she will somehow play a key role in our future." Destiny explains. "But now, it all grows dim."

"Why?" Mystique asks with worry.

"Because" Destiny began to answer in a solemn tone. "She may not live long enough to fulfill it."

Meanwhile, as Rogue continued a solo game of racquetball, she hits the ball, where instead of bouncing off the wall, it explodes, much to her shock. Suddenly, the goth girl has another headache as she had memory flashes of Fred Dukes this time. As a reaction, she flings the racket into the wall as she painfully got on all fours while grunting in pain before looking at the damage to see the racket embedded in the wall.

"Hold on, dude." pokemon fan 1991 interrupts. "Is this one based on the "Self-Possessed" episode of X-Men: Evolution?"

"Yeah." guardian1989 replies. "I decided to move this one up sooner in order to fit the Changes trilogy chapters."

"Nice." 61394 comments with impression. "I'm stoked to see what changes you have in mind for this one."

"I figured since Danny went through an evolution, it's Rogue's turn now." guardian1989 comments.

"All right, let's get back to our shenanigans." 61394 said as he flicked the lights

It was Friday morning. Rogue was brushing her hair for a few minutes before she felt the sharp headache again as she grunted. After putting on her gloves, Rogue grabs her backpack and is about to leave the room she shared with Kitty. Suddenly, when she opened the door, Rogue saw Logan on the other side in shock as the burly Canadian said.

"Rogue?"

"Logan. Is somethin' wrong?" Rogue asks in curiosity.

"That's kind of what I was wondering." Logan shows the damaged racket. "This look familiar?"

Before Rogue could give an explanation, Kitty arrived before tugging Rogue by the arm, as the brunette said.

"Come on, we're going to be late!"

As Rogue mouthed "sorry" to Logan, the burly Canadian rose an eyebrow in confusion.

At Bayville High, school was just going on about as usual with students all about in the halls. Everything seemed to be normal.

Probably...

While Rogue was walking through the hallways, she was heading to the girls' restroom before she got another headache as memories of Kitty flashed into her mind. Inadvertently, her arm began to phase through the door as the mutant goth girl gasped when she noticed. Quickly pulling her arm back, Rogue breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that no one noticed.

"Rogue?"

She turned around to see Sam looking at her with a confused eyebrow.

"Is something wrong?"

Rogue shook her head before she said in response.

"Ah'm okay. Just been gettin' a headache is all."

"Do you need to go to the nurse's office?" Sam asks in concern.

"Ah'll beh fahne." Rogue said. "Really."

"Okay..." Sam said, completely confused before walking off.

Soon, Rogue approached a water fountain to take a drink of water. Suddenly, she again gets a sharp headache as Ororo's memories flash into her mind this time. In a chain reaction, lightning conducts on the metallic construct before it bursts, spraying water everywhere. The mutant goth girl was frightened with what happened as she ran away while everyone was confused about what happened.

However, a certain ghost boy was the only one who knew the truth.

Outside the campus, Rogue was sitting alone on one of the tables, taking deep breaths. Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching before she heard the voice of a certain half-ghost she was fond of.

"Rogue?"

Turning around, she sees Danny with a worried look.

"Danny. What brings ya here?" Rogue asks.

Danny took a seat, as he said in a solemn tone.

"I saw what happened in the hall." Danny sees Rogue gasp. "It's okay. No one knows about it, but me." he gently holds Rogue's hand. "What's going on?"

Rogue lets out a frustrated sigh. Seeing that there was no point in hiding anything from her boyfriend, she looked at him with worry as she said to him.

"Remembah what Ah told ya about mah powahs?" she sees Danny nod. "Well, there's one catch Ah forgot ta mention." Rogue stands up. "Everyone Ah touch stays in mah head." she sits back down. "And lately, it's gettin' a little crowded."

Danny looked worried as he placed an arm around her waist, the skin of her waist being touched by his hand while Rogue looked into his blue eyes.

"Rogue, you're a strong girl." Danny began. "Stronger than any other girl I've ever met. Know this that no matter what happens, I'll be there for you."

Rogue smiled as she leaned toward Danny, embracing him into a hug as things were quiet for the couple. Suddenly, their moment was interrupted when the bell rang. In haste, both Danny and Rogue run back to the building in order to avoid being tardy for their next class.

The couple didn't even realize a slight clue that a crow was watching them from the trees.

It was night. The concert has begun as crowds of fans attended with friends, dates, or even alone. The band, Cryoshell, played their song Creeping In My Soul as the crowd cheered while listening to the music. Scott and Jean danced to the rock music that played.

"Remind me to thank Danny for those tickets." Jean literally had to shout over the loud music.

"I'll make a note of that." Scott replied, also shouting over the loud music.

With Danny and Rogue, they were enjoying their time together as they too enjoyed the music before the band to play their next song, Closer to the Truth, while they danced with one another.

"Thanks for invahtin' meh, sugah." Rogue shouts over the music.

"I wouldn't want to go without you." Danny replies.

Rogue smiled at Danny, who returned it without any hesitation.

The band played on as everyone enjoyed themselves. They cheered continuously while different songs played. Suddenly, Rogue began to feel a headache that was more intense than the other ones that previously hit her while getting memory flashes of Kurt this time. Danny instantly noticed as he asked.

"Rogue, what's wrong?"

The goth girl grunted in pain as she covered her ears, trying to dim the music down while her headache continued its effects. Soon, she looks to Danny as she said in desperation

"Ah got ta get outta here! Ah don't do well in crowds!"

"Okay, I'll cover you."

Unfortunately, one of the individuals in the crowd bumped into Rogue so hard that the sleeve of her green blouse was ripped off, exposing her arm. Then, another bumps into Danny, knocking him down. One by one, the skin of Rogue's exposed arm touched each individual, knocking them out from her absorption powers as the mutant goth girl tried to keep herself balanced.

Then, Rogue sees Danny getting close to her as she begins to shed tears before begging him.

"Danny, please get meh outta here."

However, she didn't realize that the real Danny Fenton was barely getting up as he was still on the floor. The ghost boy sees himself standing next to Rogue as he says to himself.

"What the...?"

Suddenly, he felt it; the same kind of bad vibe he felt every time he was near Risty at school in the past before he and his friends realized the truth. One kick to the back of the knee was all it took to make Danny's doppleganger stumble as he accidentally grabbed onto Rogue's exposed arm. She and Danny screamed upon her powers activating. The real Danny witnessed in shock as his doppleganger morphed into Mystique as the shapeshifter collapsed out cold.

Rogue instantly and accidentally tapped into Mystique's shape-shifting powers before feeling another headache. Danny gets near her as he tries to comfort her.

"Rogue, it's me." Danny said, getting her attention. "I'm going to get you out of here. Come on."

Suddenly, memory flashes of Fred Dukes hit her as Rogue screamed in pain while morphing into him as the ghost boy watched, horror-stricken.

"This is bad."

Mystique regained consciousness before she saw what was happening to Rogue as she called out to her in vain. In an instant, Blob roared as he made way through the screaming crowd before the band noticed. After getting onstage, Rogue/Blob began to cause serious damage to the speakers, instruments, and several other pieces of equipment as the crowd began to flee in panic, except for two teens.

"Blob?! What's he doing here?!" Scott demands.

"It's not the real Blob!"

Scott and Jean see Danny running up to them as the redhead asks.

"What do you mean?"

"It's Rogue." Danny answers. "Something's wrong with her, and Mystique is here, too!"

"She's here, too?!" Scott asks in shock.

"Yeah. I don't know why, but she tried to impersonate me for some reason!" Danny explains. "And now Rogue is accessing Mystique's powers, somehow."

Suddenly, Rogue/Blob screams in pain before morphing into Sabretooth. To Danny, it was the first time seeing this mutant. In his perspective, Sabretooth looked like a bigger, meaner, more animalistic version of Logan. The feral mutant lets out a roar before making an escape, with Mystique following in pursuit.

"This isn't good." Jean comments with worry.

Suddenly, Danny's ghost sense went off as Scott noticed.

"And it's about to get worse." Danny comments.

Suddenly, they hear maniacal laughter that belonged to a female. Soon, they see a certain ghost diva with flaming hair that was robin's egg in color and a guitar that only Danny was familiar with.

"Let's rock this joint!"

As she struck the cords of her guitar, sending a blast towards one of the support beams, Scott asked Danny.

"Enemy of yours?"

"Yep." Danny replies

Taking cover, Danny transformed into his Danny Phantom persona before he confronted the enemy ghost in midair.

"Hey, no-hit blunder! What the hell are you doing here?" Danny demands.

"Oh, you know, making my comeback tour." Ember stated casually. "And I got a new gig," she raised her arm. "Putting you in a body bag!"

However, Ember was struck down by an optic blast, courtesy of Scott. While the ghost was down, Jean used her telekinetic powers to lift the guitar before dismantling into pieces. Once Ember recovered, she gasped, seeing her guitar in bits and parts. Looking to the two mutants, her eyes glowed red with rage as her flaming ponytail ignited into an inferno.

However, Scott and Jean had nothing to worry about due to Danny firing an ice blast, freezing Ember in her tracks before sucking her into the Fenton Thermos and sealing the cap

As Danny was about to take, Scott stopped him for a moment and asked.

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to find Rogue and help her." Danny said in response. "I don't know what she's dealing with, but I can't leave her alone."

After looking out the opening that Mystique took to follow Rogue, Danny turned to the others and said.

"You guys get to the Institute and regroup. Also, tell the professor what happened."

Scott tossed a communication device to Danny as he said.

"Take this with you and stay in touch!"

The ghost boy nodded before flying off to search for Rogue.

In the streets, Rogue/Sabretooth was hiding in a dark alley to elude police officers. However, one of them just spotted the mutant and approached. Suddenly, she/he gets a headache and gets a memory flashed of Magneto. Once Rogue morphed into the master of magnetism himself, Rogue/Magneto manipulated the magnetic field to push back the police car. Suddenly, another memory flash happens. This time, it's Quicksilver as Rogue changes her form again, unwillingly, before zipping away to another alley. eluding more police officers.

After the sirens pass by, Rogue changes back to normal as she presses herself against the wall of a building before sliding into a fetal position and begins to sob, not understanding what is happening to her.

Suddenly, Rogue hears a voice belonging to the last person she wanted to see.

"Rogue, are you all right?"

She sees Mystique at the end of the alley, near the streets. Angered, Rogue stood as she said

"Get away from meh!"

As Rogue tried to walk past the woman, Mystique said to her.

"Please, listen." she lifts her hand. "I know I've hurt you, but I only posed as Risty, so I can be near you."

"But why the hell did ya pose as mah boyfriend back there?!" Rogue demands.

While Mystique was silent, Rogue unknowingly and in anger morphed into an exact replica of Mystique before shoving the real shapeshifter into a nearby garbage can.

"You can't lie to me!" Rogue/Mystique shouts. "You used me to spy on the X-Men and Danny! And now I know you're after him as well!"

The real Mystique got up as she said.

"Rogue, it's not that simple."

Instead of listening, Rogue/Mystique sent a roundhouse kick, but the older dodged effortlessly.

"Please, don't do this."

Rogue/Mystique attacks the real Mystique with a series of punches and kicks, but the older woman simply blocked them, despite that her opponent was not making it easy for her. After cartwheeling backwards to gain some distance, Mystique said.

"If you have my memories, then you know what our relationship is."

As Rogue morphed back to normal, she said in denial

"Ah don't know anythang!"

"Admit the truth, Rogue." Mystique beckons. "I adopted you when you were four."

"No!"

As Rogue ran away, Mystique beckoned to her.

"Search the memories. You are my daughter."

While Rogue continued running, Mystique was about to call to her, but someone else beat her to it.

"Rogue!"

Looking up, Mystique sees Danny airborne as he, too, was looking for Rogue.

"YOU!"

Growling in anger, the shapeshifter jumps onto a nearby awning before using her momentum to get airborne and launch a sneak attack on Danny. Unfortunately for her, the ghost boy saw it coming as he turned intangible, causing Mystique to miss her mark. Using her agility and a nearby empty flagpole, the woman lands onto the ground.

It was Danny's turn to be angered as he demands from Mystique.

"What did you do to her, this time?!"

"I merely told her the truth." Mystique said in response while maintaining her glare towards Danny.

"I find that really difficult to believe." Danny said in serious doubt while crossing his arms. "Especially since I've known you were trouble from the moment we've met."

Mystique was shocked when she heard what Danny had said recently as she asked.

"You knew from the beginning?"

"I didn't understand it at first when you posed as Risty." Danny explained. "But I've always got bad vibes off of you when you were near me. After finding out that day, now I know."

Mystique growled before she tried a jump kick to strike down Danny. However, the ghost boy merely turned intangible, making the woman miss her mark again. With a single blast of his ghost ray, Danny knocks down Mystique into a couple of garbage cans.

"Look. I don't have time for this." Danny said in annoyance. "I need to find my girlfriend, who I genuinely love, and help her."

Mystique could only glare at him as Danny flew away to continue his search. Suddenly, Scott calls him through the comlink device.

"Danny? Have you found Rogue?"

"No. I lost her." Danny replied. "I was on her trail until I ran into Mystique along the way."

"Okay. The professor is in the Blackbird with a few of the others. The rest of us are en route. When you find her, let us know."

"Yeah. I'll send up a flare so you'll know exactly where we are." Danny said before cutting the link.

Meanwhile, Rogue was on the rooftop of a random building after using Kurt's teleportation power by accident. She leaned against a wall as she cried. Suddenly, she hears the sound of a Harley Davidson before unwillingly morphs into Sabretooth again.

With Logan, he was on his vehicle as he somehow got wind of Sabretooth being in the city as he searched in the area. That is until he was ambushed by Rogue/Sabretooth tackling him off his bike. With his adamantium claws at the ready, Logan sees his opponent snarling, ready to fight. He quickly cuts a nearby lamppost, making topple over him.

Suddenly, the burly Canadian hears Danny's voice.

"Logan, no! That's Rogue!"

"What?" Logan sniffs the air before he recognizes Rogue's scent. "You're right. What's going on?"

"Long story. I'll tell you later." Danny said.

Rogue/Sabretooth leaped at the two as Danny lamented what he had to do.

"I'm sorry about this, Rogue." he whispers.

Danny fires a ghost ray, knocking the mutant through a wall. The ghost boy sends up a flare in the sky. Only a few minutes later, did the X-Van pull up before Cyclops and Nightcrawler emerged.

"Where are the others?" Logan asks.

"Jean and Kitty are on their way. The professor is in the Blackbird with Storm and Hank." Scott explains. "He's wiping the memories of the witnesses to keep things under wraps."

Logan nodded in response. Sure, it would be taxing on telepaths such as the professor and Jean, but he had to do what he must to keep the secret hidden. Eventually, the FFAV rolls in before the Fentons emerge from their vehicle.

"Stay here." Logan commands. "Spooky and I are going in. Rogue ain't thinking straight, and we don't want to startle her." he turns to Danny. "Let's go, kid."

The two enter inside with caution. Danny uses the energy of his ghost ray as a light for both of them to see around the dark warehouse, despite Logan's heightened senses. As they looked around, Rogue morphs back to normal before leaning against one of the rails.

"Rogue!" Danny calls. "It's me, Danny! Where are you? We're here to help!"

What Danny didn't know was that Rogue got another headache and memory flash. This time, it was Scott's memories before morphing into him. Suddenly, Danny was ambushed by Rogue/Cyclops as he heard

"Help yourself, big shot!"

An optic blast hits the ghost boy as it knocks him. Logan instantly locates a downed Danny as he helps him up.

"You okay, Spooky?"

"Damn. That really hurt!"

Suddenly, an earthquake started up as Danny now knew that Rogue was accessing Avalanche's powers as the boxes on the top rack were about to fall. Quickly, Danny turns himself and Logan intangible as the boxes fall through them harmlessly. Then, they see Rogue/Avalanche standing there before the goth morphs back to normal.

Leaning against another rail, Rogue whimpers before begging.

"Please. Help meh."

Danny rushed in before he embraced a whimpering Rogue in his arms as he tried to console her while stroking her hair.

"It's okay, Rogue." he assures. "I'm here."

Suddenly, memories of how she met Risty in school before finding out the truth later on flood into Rogue's mind. In an instant, she shoves Danny off of her as he looks on with worry before witnessing his girlfriend morphing into Storm before accessing her powers, creating a galeforce wind.

"Note to self, don't piss off your girl in the future." Danny thought in horror.

Outside the warehouse, Jean and Shadowcat arrive on the scene. Suddenly, both Danny and Logan were blown out of the warehouse through the hole as the ghost boy was accidentally sandwiched between the FFAV and Logan.

"Sorry about that, kid." Logan apologized as he helped up Danny.

"What is happening?" Storm asks with worry.

"It's like every person Rogue's ever absorbed is fighting for dominance." Scott explains.

Then, they see the rooftop burst as Rogue/Storm rises up before morphing back to normal. However, while maintaining control over the weather powers, Rogue suddenly uses Cyclops's powers as she fired a large optic blast at the group. Thankfully, everyone evaded the attack.

"I think she's got control over all of those powers at once." Logan comments. "And that's not a good thing."

In the Blackbird, the remaining adults see Rogue in the sky. The goth uses Magneto's power to alter the path of the aircraft before it crashlands onto the street before continuing her attack on her friends. Even Ororo was taken down.

"Everyone, get back! I can take a beating better than all of you!" Logan barked before turning to Danny. "Spooky! I need a lift."

Danny lifts up Logan to get to the same altitude as Rogue before the burly Canadian tackles her. The goth tried to use the winds to keep herself aloft, but the weight of the Logan's adamantium-fused skeleton pulled her down to Earth. As they landed on a car with a crash, they rolled off before standing up.

Suddenly, Rogue uses the magnetic field to parqlyze Logan before firing an optic blast. However, Danny stopped his fall in time before rushing towards Rogue.

"Rogue, listen to me, please!" the ghost boy pleaded. "You're not the type to let other people push you around. You've got to fight it."

Rogue started to calm down before getting on her knees. She groaned before whimpering.

"Ah can't! There's too many of them! It's too much!"

"Rogue, you can do this." Danny beckons. "You're the strongest person I've ever known." he sees her looking into his eyes. "I love you, Rogue. I'm not letting go. Not now, not ever."

Rogue began to shed tears when she heard Danny say the L word to her. Then, the goth felt the professor enter her mind.

"Rogue. I'm here to help you. We can wipe out those personalities together, one by one."

Rogue gets on all fours as she groaned before she lets out a scream as she expelled every psyche that she obtained in the past with Professor Xavier's help. It was all hazy for her until, at long last, the scream stopped. Danny caught her before she could make contact with the pavement. Cradling her, he looks at the professor in worry.

"Will she be okay?"

"I..." Professor Xavier paused. "I don't know yet."

All Danny could do when he carried her bridal style was look at her with worry. The thought of losing his girlfriend was something he didn't want to hear as he whispered while the others gathered around.

"Rogue..."

It was early morning as Professor Xavier was downstairs in the infirmary. Rogue was asleep as she was equipped with various medical equipment, monitoring her heart rate, core temperature, etc. while Danny was sleeping next to her bedside, hunched over. He sees Logan leaning on a transparent wall.

"How long has Spooky been there, Chuck?" the burly Canadian asks.

"He hasn't left her side since last night." Xavier replies.

Logan mulled it over as he asked.

"She is making a full recovery, right?"

"Slowly, but yes." Xavier said in response. "However, having all of those personalities driven out has left her very fragile." he sighs. "Her toughest challenge is still yet to come; coming to terms on who Mystique really is."

Logan looked at the sleeping teens before he said.

"Well, Chuck, it ain't gonna be easy for Stripes. I can relate to that. She's had it rough for quite some time. Now, it's like... a lot of the kids show up in her life."

"They love her, you know."

Xavier and Logan see Maddie enter the infirmary as the bald telepath asks.

"Who are you referring to?"

"The kids here." Maddie simply said. "All of them."

"How so?" Logan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, for some of them who don't have siblings, they love Rogue like a sister that they never had." Maddie explains. "Those who do, they love her as if she is part of their family." The Fenton woman chuckled. "Especially Danielle, since she looks up to Rogue as the toughest of her older siblings."

Professor Xavier smiled before he said

"Yes, I find that quite believable."

Logan paused for a moment before asking Maddie.

"What about your boy?"

Maddie smiled at Danny, who was still asleep before she said in response.

"Let's just say that the love my son has for her, it's the same kind of love that I see in Jack's eyes every single day." Maddie turns to Xavier and Logan. "I have no doubts that he'll take losing her extremely hard."

Then, Professor Xavier felt someone's mind beginning to stir awake as he gently said.

"I believe it's time we all left."

Then, the three adults leave the infirmary as Rogue is starting to awaken. Slowly, the goth opens her eyes to find herself in the infirmary. Looking down, she sees Danny asleep as well. Due to him being within range, the goth girl gently stroked his cheek before he started to awaken as well. Once he opened his eyes, Danny smiled to see Rogue awake.

"Hey, sleeping beauty." Danny playfully greets.

"Flatterer." Rogue said equally playful.

Soon, Danny obtained a serious and worried tone as he said.

"I thought I was going to lose you last night."

"Ah promise not ta scare ya lahke that again." Rogue assured him.

As Danny gently hugged Rogue, the goth girl remembered something as she asked.

"By the way, last nahght, when ya said that ya love meh," she breaks away from Danny. "Did ya mean it?"

Danny slowly nodded his head before he said to her.

"I meant it, with every part of my being."

Rogue sheds tears as she says with a loving smile.

"Ah love you, too."

Danny hugs Rogue once more as he says.

"I'm just glad that you've made it through, Rogue."

Once they broke apart again, Rogue was silent at first before she said.

"Anna..."

Danny was confused as he asked.

"What did you say?"

"Mah real name." Rogue said. "It ain't Rogue. It's Anna Marie Darkholme." she sees Danny raise an eyebrow. "Mystique adopted meh when Ah was four. Ah found out when Ah had her memories."

"Anna." Danny repeats as if he was tasting it. "That's a pretty name, in my opinion."

"Thanks, but know this." Rogue grabs Danny by the shirt with a glare. "Ya tell anyone, Ah'll make sure ya die a slow, painful, and probably, gruesome death behfore ya become all ghost. Got it?"

Instead of being intimidated, Danny merely smiled before he said.

"Yup. My girl's definitely back."

Outside, a limousine stops in front of the gates of the Xavier Institute. Mystique lowers a window while looking at the mansion before asking.

"What do your visions tell you now, Destiny? Is Rogue back in our future?"

"She is." Destiny said in response. "In fact, I owe that boy, Danny Fenton, a debt of gratitude."

Mystique was silent yet bitter. In a way, she, too, owed the boy a debt; something that she didn't like. However, the woman couldn't deny the fact that he saved her from herself. Soon, she hears Destiny speak up.

"Now, I see so many bright paths, but they're all so dim, especially one dark path I see as well."

"What does that mean?" Mystique asks in curiosity.

"I do not know exactly." Destiny removes her sunglasses. "But one thing I do know is that both Danny and Rogue have passed the first test of their trial." she opens her cloudy eyes. "With many more still to come."

Back inside the Institute, Hank was examining Rogue's blood sample that he's obtained. In an instant, the computer detects an anomaly. After getting a deeper scan, Hank made a startling discovery. It was as if her DNA was changing before this transformation was complete. There was something else; there were bits of residual ectoplasm that he believed caused these changes in Rogue's DNA structure before being absorbed completely.

"My God..." was all Hank could whisper before he looked at the tiny vial of Rogue's blood.

And finished with this chapter. Stay tuned for the final part of the Changes trilogy chapters.

The lights go back on as the authors wrapped it up for now. All the while, the Warners finish their popcorn, having gotten enough of seeing Baloney getting flattened by over 857 anvils, which resulted in him being motionless on the ground with a bump on his head.

"He just never learns." Yakko comments, earning a nod from his siblings.

"Thanks for the permit in getting a cameo appearance." pokemon fan 1991 said in gratitude.

"I should be thanking you for the suggestion of Deadpool being transported to the moon." guardian1989 said in response.

"He'll be back though, right?" 61394 asks.

"When has he not returned?"

"Good point."

Soon, the guests leave the realm as the author cleaned up while turning to the audience.

"Be assured that I'll answer your reviews at the end of part three of this trilogy. Hope you all enjoyed this chapter."

With that, the realm becomes dark.
