Right after the battle ended, the knights quickly spread out to find the evacuated citizens of Castle Town to tell them they had won the battle and urgently requested the doctor to come to the castle to help Zelda from her wounds from the bomb.
At the castle, Zelda was taken to the infirmary of the castle where the physician was already working on his own to ensure Zelda would be alright until the doctor came to help minutes later.
"I can't believe Mother got hurt," said Leonidas who was with many others waiting for the results, "What should I do if I lose her?"
"It will be alright," said Lucinda trying to comfort Leonidas, "Your mother is a very strong woman as a leader, person, and even a fighter."
"That may be true," said Ashei, "But those wounds looked very bad."
"To think that a blast bomb could be powerful enough to have some of its power break through a barrier made by the queen," said Shad, "I had studied the power of the royal family but I never thought it wouldn't be that strong."
"Come to think of it," said Leonidas, "This is the first I've heard of that power." "I wonder if I have it too."
"We'll have to worry about that another time," said the woman who helped defeat King Bulblin during the battle.
"You know," said Lucinda to the woman, "I don't think we know who you are yet." "Is now a good time for introductions?"
"That it would seem Princess Lucinda," replied the woman, "My name is Vela and I'm the captain of the Gerudo army who aided you during that battle."
"The Gerudo," said Leonidas remembering the name from his studies, "I thought they were extinct for centuries."
"That was a lie in history that we made," explained Vela, "At the time, our people were deeply hated so we hid from all of Hyrule." "However, some time ago, our king believed that the time had come to come out of hiding and show ourselves to the world again." "Our King also wanted to meet with the queen hoping to start a friendship but we quickly noticed the bulblins were planning to attack the castle under the orders of that man who led them in the battle." "As soon as we found out, the king ordered me to lead the Gerudo army to aid you."
"So that's why you came," said Ashei, "Well we thank you and believe that Her Majesty would say that she is in your debt."
"Pardon me," said the castle physician who came to the group, "The doctor and I did everything we could to save Her Majesty, but it took all of our effort just to make sure she would stay alive."
"What does that mean," asked Leonidas with worry.
"I'm afraid that many of Queen Zelda's bones and muscles took heavy damage which couldn't be recovered," answered the physician, "She will live but she won't be able to do much alone now."
"That's awful," said Lucinda, feeling sad for Zelda.
"There is something you should know," said the physician to Leonidas and Lucinda, "I'm actually here to bring you both to Her Majesty because she has something to say to you."
The physician then led Leonidas and Lucinda to the infirmary leaving Ashei, Shad and Vela who all felt sorry for them. At the infirmary, Leonidas and Lucinda were able to see Zelda who was on a bed seemingly unable to move.
"Mother," said Leonidas as he and Lucinda came over to Zelda, "Are you alright?"
"I'll be fine," answered Zelda, "Though it seems that I am now not in the condition of ruling Hyrule anymore."
"Wait a minute," said Leonidas, "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
"Yes," answered Zelda, "It would appear that your time to become king and the next ruler of Hyrule has come." "I know that it's sooner than I anticipated, but you must for the sake of Hyrule."
"Are you sure about this Zelda," asked Lucinda, joining the conversation while knowing that it meant that she would soon be queen.
"Of course I am," answered Zelda with a smile, "You both don't need to worry though." "While I may be unable to properly move, I can still guide you both in ruling Hyrule."
"Alright," said Leonidas, "If that is your wish, Mother, then I'll become King of Hyrule."
"I know you will do great," said Zelda with encouraging words, "Now you can both go." "The doctor said that I shouldn't talk too much yet though I should be able to in time."
Leonidas and Lucinda then left the infirmary and returned to where they were before.
"So what now," asked Shad to Leonidas and Lucinda.
"I'm going to become king with Lucinda as my queen," answered Leonidas, "We'll have to spread the word and prepare for my coronation." "Also, while we wait for the coronation, Lucinda and I decided to visit the domain of the Gerudo and meet with their king."
"We decided that it was the least we could do to thank the Gerudo for helping us," explained Lucinda.
"In that case," said Vela, "I'll tell a Gerudo soldier to go back to our territory and inform our king of this." "Even though it's not how it was planned, I'm sure he'll be glad to know that you'll be coming."
Later, Leonidas and Lucinda started to plan for the coronation and prepare for their trip to Gerudo Desert while knowing that another change for them was coming.
