The day after Zelda told Leonidas that he would become king, the fact was publicly announced and it was decided that the coronation would happen in ten days. The day after that, Leonidas and Lucinda prepared to go to Gerudo Desert to meet with the Gerudo King.

"So how are we to get to the desert to begin with," asked Lucinda to Leonidas around the time they had geared up for the desert knowing they couldn't travel to the desert and on it by horse.

"I'm not sure," answered Leonidas, "We should ask Vela when we're ready."

Once Leonidas and Lucinda were ready, they went to the castle entrance and met with both a few of the knights and the Gerudo soldiers.

"It's time," said Vela, "In order for us to make it to Gerudo Desert, we must use a secret path that is south of Lake Hylia." "It will take two days to make it to our destination, seeing as we'll be traveling by foot." "I should warn you that the desert is really hot by day and quite cold by night."

"Understood," said Leonidas, "Let us be off then."

Without delay, Leonidas, Lucinda, the knights, and the Gerudo soldiers started the journey to the desert. By the time they arrived at Lake Hylia and crossed its bridge, the Gerudo soldiers checked some bushes that were hiding the path and then revealed it before setting camp for the night since night had come. By the next morning, the group entered the desert and started what both Leonidas and Lucinda thought was a tough walk through the sand.

"So how come no one was able to find your people all this time," asked Leonidas to Vela after a while of traveling westward through the desert."

"Our home, Gerudo Town, is at the westernmost part of this desert," answered Vela, "Most people never consider going there and combined with how things are in this desert, it was easy to avoid discovery though there are some who we treat as exceptions."

Eventually, Leonidas, Lucinda, the knights and the Gerudo soldiers arrived at a town that looked like a big fortress which Vela confirmed was Gerudo Town. Right after, the company entered the town and Leonidas and Lucinda were amazed once they looked around as they made their way to what was known as Gerudo Palace.

"Here we are, Gerudo Palace," said Vela once she and the others arrived at the palace, "Prince Leonidas, Princess Lucinda, please come right in." "I'll accompany you both while our companions stay here."

Leonidas, Lucinda and Vela then entered the palace and then Vela showed Leonidas and Lucinda the way to the palace's throne room where the Gerudo King would be. When they arrived at the throne room, Leonidas and Lucinda saw a male Gerudo who seemed to be younger than them by a few years.

"Welcome back Captain Vela," greeted the male Gerudo to Vela, "It's good to know you are unharmed."

"Indeed Your Majesty," said Vela while bowing to her king, "Also I brought Prince Leonidas and Princess Lucinda of Hyrule with me."

"Just as you said in your letter," replied the male Gerudo who then looked at Leonidas and Lucinda, "Greetings to you both Prince Leonidas and Princess Lucinda." "I am Alem, the king of the Gerudo and it's great that we get to meet at last."

"It's an honor," said Leonidas to Alem, "We thank you for aiding us in a time of need." "Though I may ask why you chose to do it?" "I've heard that Gerudo are a thieving race."

"That was the case long ago," explained Alem, "But I made sure to change that as soon as I became king because I knew the Gerudo had to change into better people."

"Mind if I ask why you're younger than us both and are already king," asked Lucinda to Alem.

"That is something I don't mind answering," replied Alem, "As you probably noticed, all the Gerudo besides myself are female and that's because we are an all female race though every one hundred years, a single male is born and by law that male becomes the king at a young age."

"That is an interesting fact," said Leonidas.

"Indeed," said Alem, "Anyway, I think it's time I told you why I invited you here." "As I said earlier, the Gerudo have changed and I think it's time we ally ourselves with the people of Hyrule." "I had originally planned to talk with Queen Zelda about this so you can imagine my shock when I learned what happened to her."

"Even so," said Leonidas, "In my mother's place, I'll gladly accept your people as our ally." "I just hope that we will be able to help each other well in the years to come."

"As do I," replied Alem.

After the discussion ended, Leonidas and Lucinda along with their knights were allowed to spend the night in Gerudo Town and by the following day, they left to head back to Hyrule Castle to prepare for Leonidas' upcoming coronation. At the time, Leonidas was gaining confidence after successfully becoming friends with the Gerudo.
