Gabriella Bolton - 23

Tonight is Troy and Gabriella's long-awaited date night. They haven't had one since Lily was born, and they are hoping Lily will be fine staying with their friend, Taylor Danforth (Taylor is married to Chad). Lily has met Taylor, but she is always really shy around people other than her family.

It's 6 p.m. and Troy and Gabriella are finished getting ready for their date. When Lily walks up to Gabriella and asks, "Where are we going, Mommy?"

To that, Gabriella calmly explains, "Daddy and me are going to have dinner, and you are going to stay here and have so much fun with Taylor."

"Oh," Lily says with a sad face about to cry and walks over to Troy.

They hear a knock on the door. Gabriella walks over to the door to open it for Taylor. Troy picks up Lily then proceeds to walk over to the door.

"Hi, Gabriella," Taylor says and gives a hug to Gabriella. "Hi, Troy," she says and waves at Troy. "Hi, Lily," Taylor says softly. Lily waves back, still on the verge of crying.

Troy walks into the living room and sits on the couch, still holding Lily. He says to her, "Lily, Mommy and I are going to be back before you know it."

"I don't want you to leave!" Lily says, finally starting to cry.

"Shhh, it's okay. You'll have so much fun with Taylor, and we'll be back before you go to bed," Troy says in a comforting way, while rubbing her back gently.

"You-you promise?" Lily says in between her cries.

"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," Gabriella chimes in. Whenever Lily promises something, that's what she says because she is obsessed with "My Little Pony."

Lily looks away from Troy and over to Gabriella and says, "You remembered Mommy!"

Gabriella just smiles at her, picks her up from Troy's lap, walks over to Taylor, and says, "So are you going to be good for Taylor?"

"Yes, Mommy!" Lily exclaims.

Troy and Gabriella leave and say goodbye to Lily. She is sad for a little while and then cheers up when Taylor suggests playing CandyLand, and then having Mac Cheese for dinner. Lily is having so much fun that she doesn't realize what time it is. Troy and Gabriella come home at 8pm. Lily runs up and hugs them. She then begins to tell them everything that happened while they were gone, she talks for a while but finally starts to calm down. By then it's her bedtime, so Gabriella gives her a bath and puts her in her PJs. Troy and Gabriella both tuck Lily into bed and sing her Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, which is her favorite song.

Author's Note: I had time to post this week! Sorry for the short chapter, I'm not the best at writing. I don't think I'll have time to post next week. My summer is pretty busy this year.
