Chapter 11
Eleanore stared off into space as she mindlessly stirred the pot on the stove. It has been a very hard few weeks after her dream of being proposed to, and subsequently realizing that whoever she was, left her and has yet to come back to find her. Her heart was breaking for a love she doesn't remember having. She tried so hard to concentrate on what she was doing, knowing if she zoned out too much her dinner would be ruined. And this time, she really didn't want to burn dinner. This dinner meant more than any other dinner she can remember cooking. Tonight's dinner had to be perfect.
She shook off her mood and focused on what she was doing, carefully stirring the pot to ensure it's contents did not burn. She had been cooking all afternoon, and once the food was ready, she quickly transferred everything to two large tupperware containers, putting them into a large isolated bag she had purchased at the grocery store when she went shopping for the ingredients. She smiled as she tossed silverware in the bag and zipped it up, after checking one last time to make sure she didn't forget anything. She ran to the bathroom to check her hair, undoing and rebraiding her long hair three times before she was content that it looked perfect. She checked her phone when she was finished, cursing slightly under her breath for taking so long on her hair, which caused her to leave the house later than she originally planned.
She walked to the beach as fast as she could, excited for the night before her. It was the second night of the full moon, which meant she would be meeting Gina for the night. She rushed to their cave, already feeling happier once she was inside. She pulled out the blankets and tarp that she packed away in the corner and stacked wood for a fire before sitting on the blankets.
"Ruby, I need a favor again," she texted.
"Cover for you again?" Ruby responded nearly immediately.
"Can you?" Eleanore asked, nervously waiting for a response.
"I got you, girl! But only on one condition!" Ruby responded.
"What's that?" Her heart was pounding as she waited for her friend's response. She needed Ruby to keep covering for her so Killian wouldn't become suspicious.
"You MUST tell me what's going on ;) If I'm going to keep covering for you, I at least deserve to know what…or who…you're hiding." Eleanore could practically hear Ruby's chuckle at that response.
"I promise!" Eleanore laughed.
"Good! Maybe we'll have an actual girl's night. Okay, have fun, you crazy lady. I'll talk to you tomorrow." Eleanore sighed. She tapped the screen a few more times, composing a text message to Killian this time.
"Killian. Hanging out with Ruby tonight. Don't wait up."
"For fucks sake, Swan! What's with you two and your estrogen parties? I hope you left me dinner before you go to your period party." Killian texted back.
"Whatever, Killian. Figure dinner out for yourself," Eleanore texted back. She knew Killian wouldn't like her response, but she didn't care. She turned her phone off to avoid the cursing that would come as a result of her last text. She was still early for sunset, so she pulled out her journal to jot down a few thoughts before Gina arrived.
I know I should be excited to see Gina soon, and I definitely am. But no matter what I do I can't seem to shake the feeling that I've lost someone. How can you miss someone you don't remember ever knowing? I don't even know this woman's name. I've never actually seen her face. All I know is that she proposed to me then left me on a beach and never came back.
Did we get married? Do I have a wife out there somewhere? Why hasn't she come back to look for me? Where is she? Who is she? What happened to me? Why did she leave me? I miss her so much, and yet I don't know anything about her. Should I be out there looking for her? But how do I find someone I know nothing about? What should I do? Do I wait for her to come back and find me? Or should I move on?
Gina is here, she's present. Sure, I can only see her once a month, but at least I can see her. This mysterious woman isn't here and hasn't been in the last six years. She may not even still be out there. Gina is here. And I think I might be falling for her.
I feel things for Gina that I've never felt before. Definitely not with Killian. Gina makes me happy. She makes me feel safe. There's something comforting and pleasant about the time we spend together. And if I wasn't for this other woman, I would dive into the ocean and follow Gina back to her mermaid house, even if it meant I would drown.
This is so stupid. I'm driving myself crazy trying to choose between a mythical Mermaid and a woman who may not even exist. And yet, here I am, crying over the lost love I may never have even had. This is so stupid.
"Eleanore?" Gina called, peering into the cave.
"Gina. Oh shit, I'm sorry. I lost track of time," Eleanore said, jumping to her feet realizing she forgot to light the fire. "Give me a second to light the fire." Her journal fell to the ground next to her as she dug through her bag to find the lighter. She paused to hand Gina her towel and a dry set of clothes, not needing to look at the brunette to know she was soaking wet once again. She quickly lit the fire, illuminating the dark cave.
"Hey, are you okay?" Gina asked, sitting next to Eleanore on the blankets.
"Yeah," Eleanore said, sniffling slightly.
"You've been crying," Gina said, reaching up to wipe away Eleanore's tears.
"It's nothing…" Eleanore said, taking a shaky breath, enjoying the feeling of Gina's fingers on her face.
"If it was nothing, you wouldn't be crying…Tell me, what's making you feel so sad?" Gina asked, her voice so soft and comforting.
"It's just…it's…." Eleanore sighed. She wasn't planning on telling Gina about the other woman in her dreams. But she trusted Gina. She deserved to know, even if Eleanore didn't know anything about her. "I haven't told you everything about my memories."
"The ones you dream about?" Gina asked.
"Yeah. I've been remembering a few other things. Mainly…another woman…" Eleanore said, suddenly scared that Gina will leave.
"What about this other woman?" Gina asked, taking an interest in Eleanore's mysterious woman.
"She's the one who pulled me out of the water. She's the one who saved me. But she left me there. There's more…" Eleanore said, still not convinced that Gina won't run when she hears the rest of the story. "…I think we were together…I think we were engaged…" Eleanore's gaze fell to the ground. She couldn't see the look on Gina's face, couldn't see the hurt she knew would no doubt be present in Gina's eyes.
"You remember being engaged to this woman?" Gina asked. Her voice wasn't sad like Eleanore thought it would be. It almost sounded hopeful.
"Yeah. I remember her proposing to me actually," Eleanore answered.
"Do you remember how she proposed?" Gina asked, her voice definitely sounded hopeful now.
"We were in bed, I think. We were laying together for the night, in each other's arms, and I was just starting to drift off to sleep when she asked me. She seemed so nervous it was adorable," Eleanore said, finally looking up at Gina.
"That's amazing," Gina said, a smile so wide that it nearly reached her ears.
"Maybe…but she left me. She left me on the beach and I haven't seen her again since. She hasn't come looking for me in over six years. Clearly something happened and we broke up…"
"That's not true," Gina said.
"Sure it is. If we didn't, then why hasn't she come looking for me?" Eleanore asked, more tears filling her eyes.
"How do you know she hasn't been looking for you?" Gina asked.
"I haven't left Storybrooke the entire time since I woke up on the beach. If she was looking for me, she would have found me by now."
"How do you know she hasn't already found you?" Gina asked.
"Because she would have said something by now."
"Maybe…" Gina said, her voice sounding emotional suddenly, tears falling from her own eyes. "Maybe she knows you don't remember her, and she doesn't want to scare you. Maybe she's waiting for you to remember her before she makes herself known."
"I hope you're right," Eleanore said, looking up at Gina, frowning when she saw the tears streaming down Gina's cheeks. "Hey, what's the matter? I made you cry?"
"No, it's not you. I…I have my own broken heart…" Gina said.
"Tell me what happened," Eleanore said, wiping away Gina's tears this time.
"I was engaged as well…on the day of our wedding, my fiancé was taken from me."
"Oh Gina, I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do?" Eleanore asked.
"No. Unfortunately, there isn't anything anyone can do. Although…" Gina said, a fresh set of tears running down her cheeks. "Being with you helps tremendously…"
"Well, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." Eleanore smiled. "But…I don't want to bring things down even more but…what happens…to us…if they come back?" Eleanore asked.
"Let's not think about that. Let's just enjoy our time together." Gina reached up to gently cup Eleanore's face. "I have a feeling that's not going to be a problem." A wide smile spread across her face again. A moment later, her lips were pressed against Eleanore's, her arms wrapping around the blonde's neck, pulling her closer. "What did you bring me for dinner this time?" Gina asked, pulling away from Eleanore's lips just enough to speak.
"I have a surprise this time." Eleanore smiled, her mood changing significantly after their kiss. She rushed toward the insulated bag, unzipping it quickly. She carefully pulled out two containers, handing one to Gina. Gina looked puzzled as Eleanore handed her a fork and knife. Still unsure, she watched as Eleanore pried off the top of her own container, a warm smell of fresh food filled the small cave. Gina opened her own and smelled the food inside.
"What's this?" Gina asked, taking another smell.
"Chicken parmesan with spaghetti," Eleanore said.
"The packaging is different. Is this from a different place than Granny's?" Gina asked.
"Yeah. I…ummmm…I made it…" Eleanore said, blushing slightly.
"You cooked for me?" Gina asked, shocked.
"Yeah, I did. I wanted to do something special," Eleanore answered, her face turning a shade of red that matched her homemade sauce. "I hope you like it," she added.
"I'm sure it's amazing," Gina said, picking up her fork and knife, not quite sure what to do with them. She watched Eleanore closely as she began cutting her chicken, quickly figuring out what to do. She carefully cut a small piece of chicken and took her first bite of Eleanore's home cooked meal.
"Eleanore! This is exquisite!" she said, her eyes wide with shock. "It's even better than the other food you brought."
"I'll be sure to tell Granny that." Eleanore laughed as they both took another bite. "You're not just saying that, right?" she asked, suddenly self conscious.
"No. I mean it. This is delicious!" Gina said, diving into the pile of spaghetti next. "This is amazing."
"Don't get too excited. This is basically the only thing I know how to cook." Eleanore chuckled. Gina didn't answer, too busy enjoying dinner.
Once the containers were licked clean, Eleanore packed them back into the bag, pulling out a third container.
"I made dessert too," she said shyly, opening the container to reveal chocolate chip cookies. "These are chocolate chip cookies." She offered one to Gina.
"You made these as well?" she asked, smelling the sweet treat.
"Yeah. I mean, the dough was pre-made, I just put them in the oven. But I baked them. I hope they aren't too burnt," she said shyly. Gina took a bite, smiling as she tasted the cookie.
"It's perfect, just like you." Gina smiled.
"You're just saying that because I cooked for you."
"No. I'm saying it because it's true," Gina said, taking another bite of the cookie. "All of it is true." Eleanore blushed, taking a bite of cookie to give herself a few more seconds before responding.
"You're pretty perfect yourself," she said, instantly regretting her cheesy response. They finished eating their cookies, and Eleanore added a few more pieces of wood to the fire, warming the cave even more before she sat down next to Gina again.
They looked at each other for a brief moment before Gina surged forward, pressing her lips against Eleanore's. Their kiss started out sweet and chaste, but within a few moments, Gina slipped her tongue into Eleanore's mouth, deepening their kiss tremendously. This was the first time Gina was the one to deepen their kisses, and she suddenly took it one step further, pulling Eleanore down on top of her as she laid down on their makeshift bed. Her hands found the small of Eleanore's back, tucking themselves under the long sleeve shirt she wore, caressing the soft skin she found underneath. Eleanore followed her lead, running her hand up Gina's stomach, making their way toward Gina's breast, an area she was already well acquainted with from their last meeting. Just as Eleanore's thumb made gentle contact with Gina's nipple, Gina suddenly pulled away.
"Hey, hold on a second…" Gina said.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Eleanore said, ripping her hand from under Gina's shirt. "I just thought…since last time we…I shouldn't have assumed…" she stuttered.
"Shh… it's okay. That's not why I stopped you. That part was good." Gina smiled. "There's just something…I want to tell you…" Gina said, sounding nervous again.
"What is it?" Eleanore asked, repositioning herself to lay next to Gina.
"I know I asked to take things slow but…" Gina said, taking a deep breath, her face turning a deep shade of red. "I…I did a lot of thinking this past month and I…I'm ready…to take the next step…with you…"
"Really?" Eleanore asked, her eyes wide with shock.
"Really." Gina smiled.
"Wait, just so we're both on the same page here. You're talking about…" Eleanore started to say.
"I want to make love to you, Eleanore." Gina smiled, reaching over to cup Eleanore's face.
"Really?" Eleanore asked again, still in shock.
"Yes, really."
"Wait! This isn't because I was crying earlier, is it? I don't want you to feel obligated just because I was sad," Eleanore said, making sure Gina was fully on board with this.
"No, not at all," Gina said gently. "This is a decision I made before I arrived here tonight." Gina's face suddenly changed again. "But there's something I need to tell you first though…" she said, trailing off at the end out of embarrassment.
"What is it? You can tell me anything," Eleanore said.
"I'm not…like you…" Gina said finally, her voice very low.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm not…" Gina started to say, struggling to get her words out, covering her face with her hands out of embarrassment. "I'm not…hu…hu…Human…" she said eventually, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked at Eleanore through her fingers, searching the blonde's face for any sign of fear, but all she was met with was love.
Eleanore didn't say anything, just waited for her to finish. "I'm a…a…a…" Gina struggled. She couldn't say it. She couldn't tell Eleanore the truth. All she wanted to do was run and never look back, until she felt Eleanore pull her hands away from her face, lacing their fingers together, squeezing slightly.
"A Mermaid?" Eleanore asked, gently cupping Gina's face.
"How did you…when did you…you knew?" Gina asked, her face completely shocked.
"Do you remember that first night we spent together here, when I found you sitting in the snow soaking wet and you fell asleep in my lap under my jacket?" Eleanore asked, brushing a stray bit of hair away from Gina's face. Gina nodded. "I woke up right after you left and I saw you running into the ocean. When you didn't surface right away, I almost ran in after you, like you did once for me. But then I saw your head so I stayed where I was and watched you. I saw your fin…or your tail…I'm not sure what it's called. Either way, I saw it pop out of the water. And the last two times we were here together I watched you swim away as well."
"You…you…you saw…my….my tail?" Gina asked, slightly horrified and even more embarrassed, her face turning bright red.
"I did." Eleanore smiled. "It's beautiful. It's the most beautiful purple color I have ever seen in my entire life. The way the early morning sun glistened off your…scales?" she asked, receiving a quick nod from Gina in confirmation. "It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen."
"Really?" Gina asked.
"Really," Eleanore said, returning her hand to Gina's face, gently brushing her thumb against her cheek.
"And it doesn't freak you out?" Gina asked, nervous once again.
"Not at all." Eleanore smiled.
"Well…that might change when you find out that I'm a little different…down there…" Gina said, her face turning bright red once again.
"It doesn't matter to me what you look like. All I care about is you. And making you feel amazing," Eleanore said, brushing her thumb across Gina's cheek, catching the stray tear that escaped from Gina's eye.
"Really?"
"Really." Eleanore laughed. "Just tell me how to make you feel good, and I'll do whatever you need."
"Well…for the most part it's the same…as…as yours…" Gina started to say, clearly shy about the discussion, her face turning a deeper shade of red. "Except…something….may…grow…when I get excited."
"Like a penis or something?" Eleanore asked.
"No, no, nothing like that. I just may grow a…sort of…nub-thing…on my…ummm…" she said. Eleanore was convinced every drop of blood was flowing in Gina's face.
"Your clit?" she asked, hoping Gina understood her anatomical reference. Gina nodded, her front teeth capturing her bottom lip between them. "And you're not sure it will actually grow?" Eleanore tried to make sure she understood everything about how to pleasure her new lover.
"I'm not sure. I've never…been intimate…before…" Gina said, shyly.
"That's okay." Eleanore smiled. "Can I touch it, if it does grow?"
"Yes, please," Gina said, her eyes still very embarrassed.
"Is there anything special I should do?" Eleanore asked.
"No. I think everything else works like a real woman," Gina said, her voice matching her still-embarrassed eyes.
"Hey! You are a real woman, okay? I don't want you to think you are any different from me." Gina smiled, nodding her head wildly.
"Do you have any questions for me?" Gina asked, mentally preparing herself to answer a multitude of questions.
"Yes, but they can wait. Right now, there's only one thing I can think of, and it doesn't involve speaking in full sentences." Eleanore smiled, her eyes filled with lust. "If you feel uncomfortable, please stop me."
"I will." Gina smiled, her previous nervous energy started to fade away as she started to realize that Eleanore wasn't freaking out about all the news she had just revealed.
Eleanore smiled as she shifted to straddle Gina's waist, gently lowering herself so she made contact with the woman beneath her, putting some of her weight on her legs to prevent hurting her. Her eyes locked with Gina's as she slowly pulled off her long-sleeve shirt, revealing her bra underneath. Reaching behind her own back, she slowly unhooked the clasps, allowing the bra to fall off her body, revealing her bare chest for the first time. Gina looked up at her in awe as she finally saw the breasts she had become so acquainted with the previous month.
Gina quickly sat up, trying to move as little as possible so as not to disturb Eleanore, pulling her borrowed hoodie over her head, smelling it once more before tossing it next to Eleanore's shirt. Eleanore took a deep breath, her eyes falling on Gina's full breasts as Gina slowly laid back down, pulling Eleanore down on top of her once again. They could feel each other's hearts pounding against their chest as their breasts pressed together for the first time. Their kiss was intense and eager, and yet so filled with love it brought new definition to the phrase "making love".
A few moments later, Eleanore's lips shifted toward Gina's neck, nibbling on her earlobe, causing a slightly panicked gasp from Gina.
"Everything okay?" Eleanore asked suddenly, pulling away from Gina. Gina nodded quickly.
"Just stay away from behind my ears," Gina explained.
"I will," Eleanore whispered. She slowly returned to Gina, this time kissing her neck so softly, one might miss it.
She made her way down both sides of Gina's neck, continuing once she reached her collarbone. Gina's body began to tremble slightly when she felt Eleanore's tongue graze over her nipple, causing it to harden instantly. Eleanore wrapped her lips around the very same nipple and sucked softly, causing Gina's back to arch into her. Gina wrapped her arms around the woman on top of her, holding on to her for dear life as Eleanore switched sides, making sure to pay the other nipple the same attention as the first. Eleanore ran her fingers along Gina's sternum, caressing the skin between her breasts as she continued kissing down Gina's body, her skin heating up each time Eleanore pressed her lips against Gina's skin.
Eleanore stopped just above the waist band of Gina's sweatpants, trying to gauge her next move. Without having to ask, she already knew that Gina was beginning to become overwhelmed with the new sensations she was feeling. Not wanting to tease the woman any longer, she decided to save the rest of her exploration for another time. She dipped her fingers under the elastic of Gina's sweatpants, tugging gently, asking for permission to remove the clothing. Gina lifted her hips off the ground, allowing Eleanore to pull her pants off, tossing them on top of the growing pile of discarded clothing.
"Take yours off too…" Gina whispered. Eleanore smiled as she climbed off Gina's body, standing in front of the naked woman before her. Their eyes locked for a moment as Eleanore unbuttoned her jeans, shimmying them over her hips and down her legs, taking her panties with them. Gina propped herself up on her elbows as she watched Eleanore remove the remaining clothes, taking in the blonde woman's body for the first time. They took a few moments of silence to admire each other, as if taking mental pictures of the woman in front of them. Eleanore knelt down beside Gina's legs, leaning over to kiss her one more time before encouraging her to lay back down. Eleanore pulled their blanket over their bodies, even though they had both warmed up significantly, in an effort to preserve Gina's modesty. She shifted to lay next to Gina, slipping her left arm under the woman, allowing her to hold her.
"Are you ready?" Eleanore asked.
"Yes," Gina whispered, a slight nervousness still evident in her eyes.
Eleanore smiled and began to run her right hand over Gina's body, a thin layer of sweat already coating her soft skin. She slowed when she reached Gina's core, waiting for permission to enter. Gina opened her legs slightly, allowing Eleanore access. Eleanore slowly ran her middle finger through Gina's soaking folds, pausing when she reached the top. Eleanore fumbled around for a few seconds until she found the exact spot she was searching for, knowing she located the sensitive bundle of nerves when Gina's breath hitched in her throat. Her body trembled slightly as Eleanore began to run small circles around her sensitive clit, feeling it grow slightly under her touch. She moved slowly and gently, so as not to overwhelm the incredible woman in her arms.
"More…" Gina breathed after a few minutes. Eleanore smiled as she slowly inserted her middle finger, pausing for a few moments to allow Gina to adjust to the new feeling.
Gina's hips began to move slightly, letting Eleanore know she was ready for her to continue. Eleanore's finger began to move inside Gina, pulling it out slightly and pushing it back in slowly, twisting it around with each thrust. Gina's body began moving faster when she added a second finger, wiggling them around inside Gina's core, searching for the magical spot buried deep inside. Once again, she knew exactly when she found it, Gina's loud moans being the perfect indication of its location. Gina reached up and grabbed Eleanore's free hand, holding it so tight their knuckles turned white, while the other reached up to cup Eleanore's head, pulling the blonde even closer to her.
"Em…El…El…Eleanore…" Gina moaned, her hips moving faster and faster as Eleanore continued to finger her, filling every part of Gina's core, her fingertips caressing her magical spot.
Sure enough, just as Gina expected, Eleanore began to feel something grow beneath her wrist, pressing against her skin. She slowly pulled her fingers out, intent on inspecting the new nub that had grown.
"No…why are you stopping?" Gina cried.
"I want to show something a little love," Eleanore smiled, whispering her response into Gina's ear. Her fingers caressed the nub that protruded through Gina's labia, causing Gina's back to arch immediately, her swollen addition clearly more sensitive than before. Her body trembled even more as Eleanore continued to caress the nub, bringing Gina closer and closer to the edge.
"Oh my fucking GOD!" Gina screamed, her passion growing quickly. Knowing Gina was close, Eleanore returned her fingers to her core, quickly finding that amazing spot deep within her, making sure to make contact before Gina fell over the edge. Gina's grasp on Eleanore tightened as the walls of her vagina tightened around her fingers, indicating she was tumbling over the edge.
Gina's first orgasm washed over her like a tidal wave, consuming her completely. Eleanore felt a warm, sticky substance land on her wrist, clearly coming from Gina's special nub. She watched as her lover shook in her arms, her chest heaving as she struggled to catch her breath. Eleanore kissed her neck softly as she waited for Gina to recover, keeping her fingers still inside her, not ready to disconnect from her new lover just yet.
"Hi," she whispered when she saw Gina's eyes flutter open, her breathing returning to normal. "Are you okay?"
"I'm…amazing…" Gina smiled, her brain starting to catch up with the present. They stared into each other's eyes for a few more moments before Eleanore broke the silence.
"I don't mean to ruin the moment but…is this supposed to happen?" she asked, removing her fingers from inside Gina, bringing her arm from under the blanket. Eleanore's wrist was coated in a clear and sticky substance. Although it was completely transparent, it seemed to shimmer a bright purple in the light of the fire.
"Yes," Gina said, a wide smile forming across her face as she gently held Eleanore's wrist. "That's my essence."
"Your what?" Eleanore asked, completely confused.
"It's my essence. It's how we create new life," Gina explained.
"Oh…" Eleanore said, not sure what to say.
"It's more than that though. It's a piece of my soul."
"So, this is…your soul?" Eleanore asked, trying to understand everything.
"Yes. A small piece of it, yes."
"Will you…run out of soul if we…too much?" Eleanore asked, suddenly feeling a little stupid upon asking the question.
"No. It doesn't work like that," Gina answered, smiling when she saw Eleanore's relief. "You can wipe it off if you want."
"No…I…I kinda like it actually. It's tingly. I like it." Eleanore smiled, causing Gina to smile as well. Gina wrapped her arm around the blonde next to her, pulling her close.
"I believe it's your turn," she whispered, a naughty smile on her face. Eleanore lunged forward, capturing Gina's lips in another deep kiss, feeling Gina's hand cup her breast, tweaking her nipple. Gina broke their kiss to place kisses on Eleanore's neck, following the same route Eleanore had used on her.
The anticipation was far too much for Eleanore to endure, grabbing Gina's wrist gently, guiding it down toward her core. She opened her legs, draping her right leg over Gina's hip, inviting her new lover into her wet folds.
"You're soaked!" Gina said, shock in her voice.
"You did that." Eleanore chuckled.
"But I haven't touched you."
"You don't need to touch me to turn me on," Eleanore said, causing Gina to blush slightly. They kissed once again as Gina began to explore Eleanore's folds, swiping her finger through Eleanore's excitement. In a burst of bravery, Gina began to focus on the very top of Eleanore's folds, trying to find that wonderful bundle of nerves. Sensing her struggle in locating her clit, Eleanore placed her hand on top of Gina's, gently guiding the woman to the exact spot, moaning slightly when she felt Gina's fingertips make sweet contact.
"Right there?" Gina asked, a little uncertain.
"Yes…right…right there…" Eleanore moaned. Gina slowly began to rub small circles around the slowly swelling clit, causing Eleanore's hips to begin to move with Gina's motion.
"Gina…" she moaned, feeling the tip of Gina's finger tease her opening. "Gina…I need you…" She pulled Gina closer, hoping to feel her fingers inside her. Right on cue, Gina inserted a single finger inside Eleanore, slowly and gently, wiggling it around to make contact with every inch.
Eleanore shuddered, her body begging for more of Gina. A second later, she could feel a second finger slowly thrusting inside of her. Gina began to move her fingers to Eleanore's movement, searching for that magical spot she knew was deep inside her, trying to recreate the amazing experience that Eleanore had just given her.
"Right there! Right there!" Eleanore said, her voice slightly louder than usual. "Oh god, Gina…" Eleanore attempted to grab onto Gina as much as she could, her short nails clawing at the skin on her back, holding on to the brunette for dear life.
Eleanore's climax came quickly, a powerful wave of pleasure washed over her suddenly, the world around her fading away as she held onto Gina, holding her as close as two people could be. She could feel Gina's lips against her own, kissing her softly and sweetly, reminding the blonde that she was still there with her as she rode the final waves of her orgasm.
"Holy fuck…" Eleanore said eventually, her voice hoarse from screaming.
"Was it…was I…did I…?" Gina started to say, insecurity filling her voice.
"You are amazing, Gina. That was, by far, the best orgasm I have ever felt."
"You're not just saying that?" Gina asked, a bright smile forming on her face.
"I would never lie to you. You are amazing, Gina Mills. Everything about you is amazing, including what we just shared!" Eleanore smiled, gently rubbing her thumb over Gina's cheek.
"You are too. In every way possible," Gina said, holding back the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes. They laid together in silence for a few more minutes, holding each other as their bodies recovered from their pleasure.
"Do you have any questions? About me?" Gina asked, breaking the silence.
Eleanore laughed. "I have so many questions."
"Ask me anything. I don't want to have any more secrets between us."
"Okay…" Eleanore said, shifting slightly to be able to see Gina better. "I don't know where to start though. I may have done some research after I saw your tail for the first time. There are hundreds of different legends about Mermaids, I don't know which one is true…" Eleanore said, not needing to finish the question. She knew Gina knew what she was trying to say.
"The title 'Mermaid' isn't actually correct. 'Mermaid' was a term that was given to us hundreds of years ago by sailors. There are actually tons of different types of Merfolk, from all around the world," Gina started to explain.
"What type are you?" Eleanore asked.
"We are called 'Nenriel '. It translates into 'Water Maiden'," Gina explained, waiting for Eleanore to ask more questions. Instead, Eleanore stared back at her, hanging on Gina's every word. "It is believed that we are descendants of the ancient Elves that used to live in this region."
"Elves? Elves are real too?" Eleanore asked.
"They were very real, thousands of years ago, before the evolution of Humans. Back when most of the world was covered in forest and ocean. A simpler time. But not all creatures were as peaceful as the Elves, and soon the safety of their species was in jeopardy. Ogres invaded their land, massacring entire tribes in a matter of minutes. Elves were a strong race, but they were still no match for the strength and size of the Ogres. Fearing extinction, a group of women decided to take to the water to escape death. Ogres were a ruthless race, but with one flaw—they were petrified of water. Legend tells a story of these women, some say as many as one hundred women assembled that night, others say it was a group no larger than thirty. These women gathered together in the water, and as they combined their magic, they were able to change their physical selves, giving themselves the tail of a fish while retaining their Elven features. The last of their magic was used to create gills, to allow them to breath under water. After their transformation was completed, they dove under the water, never to surface again," Gina explained.
"So…you have gills too?" Eleanore asked, clearly listening to every word Gina said.
"Yes, I do." Gina chuckled, turning her head to show Eleanore the skin behind her ears. Pulling her hair away slowly, she revealed three small slits, almost unnoticeable unless you knew what to look for.
"That's why you were uncomfortable with me kissing your ears," Eleanore said, a lightbulb going off in her head.
"Yes."
"Is it safe to touch your gills? Just in case I accidentally touch them while I'm playing with your hair or something?" Eleanore asked.
Gina cringed at the thought. "They are safe to touch, I think. Nothing bad will happen. It's just a very uncomfortable feeling."
"Duly noted." Eleanore smiled. "Wait, hold on. You said only the women turned into Nenriel. What happened to the men?" Eleanore asked.
"They perished."
"Okay…so wait…how…how do you…make babies?" Eleanore asked.
"The first Nenriel had to adapt their bodies for more than just living underwater." Gina chuckled. "Nenriel are a single gender race. When they transformed themselves, they needed to change their reproductive system as well. That's where our essence comes into play. When two Nenriel share their essence with each other, new life is created," Gina explained. Eleanore looked at her in confusion. "Our essence is a piece of us. It's a piece of our souls. The combining of two essences is what creates new life for us. We have a small gland inside our wombs that creates our essence. At the time of climax, this gland secretes our essence into our womb, to prepare to receive our partner's essence, as well as sending some out of the nub that forms."
"So you can share your essence with someone?" Eleanore asked, trying to understand things.
"Yes. That nub allows us to share our essence with our partner," Gina explained.
"So, this would have allowed us to make a baby?" Eleanore asked, gesturing to the shimmering purple substance still stuck to her arm.
"If you were Nenriel, then yes." Gina smiled, realizing that Eleanore was starting to understand. Eleanore was silent for a few moments, the gears turning in her head.
"So wait, you said that you derived from Elves? So you're not part Human?" Elenore asked.
"That's true. Nenriel are not part Human as most people think. We are part Elf, and part fish," Gina explained.
"Okay, but…why don't you have pointy ears?"
"I think we lost the points on our ears a couple hundred years or so ago." Gina laughed, causing Eleanore to chuckle.
"Okay, one last question for now," Eleanore said, holding back a yawn.
"You can ask as many questions as you like." Gina smiled. She was happy that Eleanore had taken such an interest in her.
"How come you have legs?" Eleanore asked, shaking her head at how stupid she felt she sounded. "That sounded stupid, I'm sorry."
"It's not stupid! I just told you that I'm not Human. And that I am, in fact, part Elf and part fish, and you think asking why I have legs is stupid." Gina chuckled. "That's not stupid at all. And the answer is a little more complicated. Since our reproductive system is only accessible without our tails, Nenriel must be on land to conceive. After a couple has become bonded…which is sort of like a magical wedding…they are able to walk on land during the full moon only," Gina explained.
"But the full moon is three nights long. How come you can only come one?" Eleanore asked. Although her mind was exhausted, she was still able to follow the conversation.
"Because my partner and I were in the middle of our bonding ceremony when she was taken from me. Which is why I can only walk on land one night a month, when the moon is at its fullest. Because we were only partially bonded…" Gina said, her voice trailing off at the end.
"Gina…I'm so sorry…" Eleanore said, wiping a stray tear that began to fall from Gina's eye.
"It's okay. In the end, it brought me to you, so it can't be all bad, right?" Gina said, her voice still sounding very sad.
"True…" Eleanore said, losing the fight against her yawn.
"Get some rest," Gina said, yawning right after Eleanore.
"I'm okay…" Eleanore said, her eyes starting to close on their own.
"Tell that to your eyes." Gina laughed. She heard a faint chuckle from Eleanore before she was sound asleep.
Eleanore woke up a few hours later to the feeling of someone shaking her slightly.
"Eleanore…" Gina whispered, shaking Eleanore's shoulder.
"Gina? What's the matter?" she asked, confused.
"It's morning. I have to leave," Gina said, sadly. "I wanted to say goodbye."
"Thank you for waking me up this time," Eleanore said, propping herself up on her elbow. "Can I walk you out?"
"I'd like that." Gina smiled. Eleanore climbed to her feet, her body a little stiff from laying on the ground for so long. She wrapped the blanket around both of their naked bodies as they walked out of the cave.
They walked slowly toward the water, neither one ready to be away from the other for another month. They finally stopped when they felt the water hit their feet.
"I don't want you to leave," Eleanore said sadly.
"I don't want to go either," Gina said, wrapping her arms around Eleanore's waist.
"I'll see you in a month right?" Eleanore asked.
"Of course. There's nothing in this world that would keep me from meeting you," Gina said. "Not even the bitter cold and snow."
"That's true." Eleanore laughed. "I'll see you in a couple weeks," she whispered, capturing Gina's lips for one final kiss. Gina slowly started to back away, pulling herself out from under the blanket, and started to walk backward into the water until the water reached her waist. Eleanore watched as Gina turned around and dove under a wave, surfacing a few moments later. Eleanore saw the very tips of the bottom of Gina's tail, as if she was showing her that her tail had reappeared.
Gina looked at Eleanore standing on the beach with a blanket wrapped around her body and blew her a kiss, waving a sad goodbye. Eleanore returned the kiss and waved before Gina turned around and dove under the water one last time, purposely kicking her tail up and out of the water completely before disappearing.
Eleanore stood at the shore for a few more minutes, looking over at the spot where she had last seen Gina, hoping she would resurface. When she realized that Gina was gone, she couldn't help but smile. Although she already missed Gina, she knew in a few weeks, she would see her again. And it was that hope that would get her through the time apart. Their relationship had changed last night, and she was excited to see what the future had in store for them.
A/N: Eleanore's theory is officially proven to be true! Gina is a Mermaid! We are about half way through and we have only just scratched the surface of their quickly growing relationship! Let me know what you think so far!
