Blake sat with sun at a cafe looking at her drink. How could she have just done that. She'd run from her team. From Ruby. She most likely hated her now. When she first saw the red reaper, she couldn't help but find her adorable.
While it felt good to put Weiss in her place at the time, the secret faunas regretted not accompanying the Rose to the auditorium as well as brushing her off the night before initiation. She dare not say it out loud, but Blake was starting to think she was beginning to fall in love with the girl.
"So sun, you want to know more about me?" Blake asked the monkey faunas across from her. Unaware to the duo, they were being watched by four borg drones
"Ruby Rose's colleague seems at ease with the stranger. He is safe from assimilation." One drone transmitted to the others. "Understood 5 of 7, we shall maintain distance, and detain any threats to them should they appear hostile." A vinculum drone transmitted back.
5 of 7 enhanced his audio receptors as Blake explained her backstory. His emotionless eyes widened. "Ruby Rose's colleague known as Blake was once a member of terrorist group White Fang. White Fang was once a peaceful protest group. Conclusion: despite her past, Collective shall label Blake Belladonna safe from assimilation
MEANWHILE
"I'm glad you had a good night's sleep Ruby." Weiss said. "Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't have any nightmares." The red reaper said. "I wonder how." Yang tensed slightly. She knew exactly who, but chose to not say anything.
"Blake! Where are you!" Ruby called out. The red reaper noticed Weiss wasn't helping. "Weiss? Aren't you going to help." The heiress glared at her. "the Police can help." She said unknowingly making a bad move regarding the sisters' protectors
6 of 8 narrow his eyes and decloaked preparing to interfere with the argument when Yang saw him out of the corner of her eye. she stealthily made a motion with her hand and shook her head "We'll resolve this." Yang mouthed to him.
The command drone stopped just before he left the shadows of the alley. 6 of 8 nodded and cloaked. He'd trust his charge's judgement.
LATER
"No." Blake said seeing the white fang move dust crates around. "You were hoping it wasn't true?" Sun asked. The cat faunas nodded sadly. "I did, but deep down, I knew it was true. Unaware to the two, 5 of 7 was sending a message to the rest of the collective.
"White fang are at the docks taking raw dust, reasons why are unknown. Unit 6 of 8 make sure the rest of Team RWBY gets to the docks. Priority one: standing by for orders." The light tactical drone transmitted
"Message received unit 5 of 7." 6 of 8 said before turning towards the collective's long-term directive and their colleagues. The command drone activated it's hologram disguise of a brown-haired wolf faunas and approached Yang, ruby, Weiss, and the newly arrived Penny.
"Where could Blake be?" Ruby said. "Are you referring to a black-haired girl I saw not too long ago with a monkey faunas?" the four turned to see a faunas walking out from a nearby alley. "Uh, yeah you know where she is?" Ruby asked.
"I overheard them saying something about a shipment at the docks." 6 of 8 said trying not to sound too robotic. "The Docks!? Let's go guys. Oh, thank you mister whoever you are." Yang trailed behind as penny as Weiss rushed to catch up with the red reaper.
"I know it's you isn't it." She asked. The faunas stiffly looked around seeing no one, 6 of 8 dropped the disguise.
"You should hurry, while drones may be watching over your friend, the collective can't guarantee she'll escape unscathed should you not arrive before a fight breaks out." The command drone said
Yang nodded. "before I get going, what's your name?" she asked. "This unit's designation is 6 of 8." The command drone said. "I'll call you 6. That ok?" 6 of 8 pondered this. His designation was a mouthful, so if it was easier for subject 508839's eldest offspring so be it.
The command drone nodded. "See you around, 6." Yang said. 6 of 8 watched her go before following. "The collective will always watch over you and Ruby Rose
"Brothers and sisters of the white fang, Why are you following this human?" Blake said holding Roman Torchwick hostage. The ginger-haired man laughed. Didn't you hear, the fang and I are having a business venture."
"Roman Torchwick is stalling. Combat is imminent. Stealth no longer relevant. We must defend Ruby Rose's colleague." The collective broadcasted as the drones at the docks prepared for battle. "Assimilate the white fang members who manage to survive. DO NOT let Torchwick escape." The collective transmitted
"Understood, but stand by, Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long are inbound. We strike when they do." 6 of 8 transmitted.
Roman broke free from Blake's grip before backhanding her. 5 of 7 tensed but the drone held its position. Just before he could use his weapon, roman was shot in the shoulder.
Stunned by the action, Blake, Sun, and Roman turned in the direction it'd come from. Blake's heart skipped a beat when she saw ruby chambering another round into Crescent Rose. "Get away from my teammate Torchwick!" the ravenette-red head yelled
"Oh, I'm sorry red. Is she your girlfriend?" Roman taunted making both Ruby and Blake's face turn a healthy shade of red.
Chuckling at their reaction, Roman tipped his hat. "As much as I'd love to give you two relationship adv-." He began before being cut off by a white fang grunt's scream of terror. "It's them!" he yelled frantically. "they're here! the armored dead men are here!"
"Armored dead men?" Sun asked looking at Blake who shrugged. The cat faunas' ears perked as the sound of distant weapons fire was heard. one was definitely Yang's shotgun gauntlets the rest, excluding the White Fang's weapons were alien to her.
Suddenly, grey skinned men in full body black armor phased into existence shocking both members of Team RWBY. "They're real." Blake muttered.
Roman watched as the rumored 'armored dead men' either overpowered the white fang before sticking tubes into their neck or killing them. "Brothers above, whatever these things are, Cinder should know." He muttered.
As he turned, the bullhead he intended to board exploded. Ruby jumped down from her perch, having gotten over the shock of seeing the armored men from her dreams. She saw Roman on the ground stunned. Knowing this most likely would be their only chance to arrest him, she approached.
Roman shook his head whilst hearing footsteps. Turning to face the direction they were coming from, his eyes widened in terror. Approaching him was Ruby, but she looked extremely different.
She no longer was a pipsqueak. She was fully grown and her hair was still short, but slightly ruffled(1/3), however despite having the iconic red cloak, she wore armor similar to the men attacking the white fang while seeming to be slightly more advanced.(2/3) on the right side of her head was a piece of armor that seemed to have a laser pointer attachment(2/3).
The expression on her face seemed emotionless whist her eyes seemed cold and empty(3). However, her skin tone remained the same.
"Get away from me you freak!" the ginger-haired main yelled. Ruby paused and raised an eyebrow, pouting. "Freak? Now that's just mean. Red, I can handle." She said
Unaware to the two, the three Borg that hadn't departed with the White fang grunts that would become new drones overheard this and began to approach the two.
"What's with them?" Sun asked Blake, who shrugged. "Roman Torchwick has signed his, how humans would say, his death warrant." The two turned to see an 'armored dead man' looking at them. "This unit suggests you both leave with Ruby Rose before authorities arrive." It said.
Blake nodded, but before she could respond the sound of a gunshot and groaning metal caught her attention. Looking in the general direction of the origin, Blake's eyes widened.
"RUBY LOOK OUT!" she yelled. The red reaper looked at her then up, but it was too late. The beam that roman shot collapsed and fell towards her. The last thing she heard before blacking out and being crushed was Blake screaming out her name.
A/N: Cliffhangers, gotta love them right? Anyways, yes I know way too early for the ladybug ship to sail. However, as Blake stated she was beginning to think she was in love with Ruby. I'll also clear something up; roman was hallucinating after the bullhead exploded. I will also clear up the time frame in TNG. This takes place after the episode called Descent Part 2. This story also replaces TNG's two-part series finale.
