As Alex was practicing sketching with his right hand his mouth curved into a smile. "How long have you been standing there Aaron?" Alex expertly asked. The surprised teen came in and when prompted took his seat. "I was distracted as to whether I should tell you or not," Aaron said suspensefully.
"Now, I gotta know!" Alex replied with full attention.
"Well," Aaron started, "when we reached the scroll feature we looked around like Kaylee said. When we were doing so something caught my eye. It was a large bunch of seaweed."
"Blue or green?" Alex asked.
"Neither, it was red. It seemed to be glowing. After taking a few samples the scientist decided to continue their search. But I was addicted to the seaweed. Here comes the interesting part, I was watching the seaweed and one second the seaweed was there the next, poof! Gone. I looked around for it but I didn't see it. On the way back about ¾ of the way back from the island of graves to the Island of Dragons I saw the red glow again. That time it was really deep underwater so I couldn't get a closer look though. However I did notice that within a half hour the glow disappeared." Aaron concluded.
Alex was flabbergasted. "Do you have the sample?" was all Alex could get out.
Aaron shook his head, "the scientists took it to research it and came to a conclusion. But, I just went to see them so I got it back. They are somewhat sure that this seaweed is a less strong version of the blue seaweed. So, this seaweed can bring people back to life but not forever. It basically gives the dead, or close to dead lives a second chance to live."
"So it is even more dangerous than the blue seaweed because people won't think twice about using it." Alex muttered. Aaron nodded, holding up a tiny red vial.
"Do you want to try it on your hand?" Aaron asked spontaneously. Alex thought about it then gave his approval. Henry was called in being the expert healer and within minutes they were ready to start.
"Alright Alex, I am just going to inject this liquid into your vein here. It will only hurt a second" Henry said soothingly. With a swift motion the red liquid disappeared into Alex's hand. Sky, Lani, Samheed, Carina, and Sean had all heard the news and came to see the outcome. Lani was close to tears, praying that it worked, because if it did, she could have her leg back.
"Try your hand Alex," Henry said
Alex tried to move his fingers and miraculously there was movement! He tried lifting his arm, but could only lift it for a minute or so before he got sore.
"The sensitivity should come back slowly," Aaron said, "just keep practicing."
Alex nodded with tears then mouthed a thank you to his brother before embracing him.
"Do me next," Lani said abruptly.
Aaron smiled before handing Henry another red vial.
Within days both Lani and Alex regained complete control over their newly working body parts. Although Alex's drawings were still not to their initial level of perfection, he was still better than most, and his skill drastically improving.
"You know, we should keep this seaweed in hand incase we need it in the future," Aaron told Alex.
"First we need to use it on other Artimeans who were hurt permanently in the battle like me," Alex replied. "But, I will arrange a team to venture out in search of the seaweed, if nothing more important pops up before that."
