Prologue

It was a normal day, the sun was shining, and the same old blonde girl chasing me after I ate her oranges without her consent.

Seriously it's just oranges, what's so special about them is that she would chase me with a literal knife! Ok, the knife is a toy, but still!

"Len!" She shouted at me. Yes! It's me, Len Kagamine! And the girl chasing me is my neighbour, Rin Hiyama. Despite being totally not related, we look really similar, blonde hair, and blue eyes. Ok, maybe that's where our similarities end.

"Come on, Rin! It's just oranges, what's so good about them!?" I shouted back, still escaping her wrath. "Shut up! I grew those oranges with my blood, sweat and tears! And you just ate them all without me!" She said with tears in her eyes. Wait! She was crying? Crying over oranges?

I suddenly stopped on my feet, staring at her. I never thought that those oranges were that important to her. I paused for a moment, everything felt, stupid. I didn't even realize that Rin was on top of me. Wait! She's on top of me?

"Were those Oranges really important to you?" I asked. Staring at her tear-streaked face. "Yes! I-" She sniffled. "I worked very hard growing them, and you ate them all! I wanted to share!" she said while banging her clenched fists on my chest, her tears falling to my shirt.

I was about to open my mouth, but, "I wanted to share it with you, but you just ate them all!" She said before I could even reply.

I already felt guilty seeing her cry, and now, I felt even more guilty. I mean, from what she told me, she worked her ass off to grow those oranges and I ate it all without her knowing, and she even planned to share it with me.

"Rin," I said, my voice barely audible. I hesitantly go to caress her face, wiping away her tears.

"I, I'm sorry," I said, but I knew that sorry wasn't gonna cut it.

"Really?" She said, sniffling a bit as she held my hand. I nodded, looking at her straight in the eyes. And out of nowhere, her eyes lit up, "OK! I- I forgive you!" She said, at first she was sniffling a bit until her face completely lightened up, wrapping me in a tight and what I presume to be her forgiving embrace.

Was it that easy to have her forgive me? This was the first time that I presumably made her cry. Of course, some things I did that made her angry, but I never went as far as to make her cry. Seeing her angry was funny, but crying? I guess due to this experience, I realized I didn't want to see or make her cry.

"Oh yeah! Len! I know, you will give me a pack of oranges on my birthday if you really are sorry!" She said. I blink a few times before nodding.

"Sure?" I said. I was more of asking her than an 'OK' that she probably wanted to hear. But she got off me and jumped multiple times, "Hooray! Hooray! New oranges, and from Len!" She cheered, jumping up and down around me as I still lay on the soft grass.

Wait, where are we again? I slowly stand up. It seems like Our little chase got both of us away from the playground and into here, a nearby hill. How did we not notice? How did I not notice?

"Hey, Rin, we need to get back," I said. "Oh?" she stops jumping around and looks at the ground where they are.

"Oh, we aren't in the playground anymore?" Rin said. I nodded, "Yeah, come on, let's hurry back,"

"Ok! Sure! Let's go!" Rin said with a bright grin. It was hard to believe she was crying earlier.

She then excitedly grabbed my hand, and!

"Woah! Rin! Slow down!" I panicked a bit as Rin pulled me with her to run down the hill. She was laughing gleefully, the wind blowing on her face, and before long I joined in as well, our voices merging as we laughed. But, I lost balance and tripped.

"Woah!" I panicked "L-Len!" I heard Rin shout my name as I stumbled, our hands patting as I felt myself roll down the hill.

"Len!" These were the final words I heard before everything ultimately went blank
