Eren looked at the destruction before him. Rod Reiss was turning into a titan, and the transformation just wouldn't stop. Eren couldn't tell how large the titan would grow to. They weren't going to get out of this. Everyone was going to die. And it was all because of him.

"I'll take Eren." He heard Mikasa say.

Eren couldn't believe what he was hearing. "It's gonna be a bumpy ride," His attention shifted to Jean on his right.

The salmon haired boy looked to Historia, "Are you sure you can handle it?" Historia nodded.

"It's useless. We can't get out of this." All that was left in his voice was despair.

Historia narrowed her eyes at him, "What do you want us to do? Sit here and hold hands until we're crushed or burned to death?" She paused, "Because we're enemies of humanity?"

Eren's eyes widened.

"You know, I hate doing this to you every time…" Levi's voice caught the boy's attention. "But Eren." Levi turned to him, "You've gotta make the choice."

The wind from the transformation was drying up Erens tears. He recalled the last time Levi asked him to make a choice. He had chosen to trust them.

That trust led to their deaths.

He gritted his teeth in frustration.

"Hey! Isn't that…?" Connie cried out. Eren saw where his finger was pointing.

A small body in the distance was standing at the edge of one of the crystallized pillars. It was limping, using a golden spear to keep its balance. Its blonde hair made Eren gasp.

"What the hell is he doing!?" Sasha screeched.

Levi clicked his tongue, "I'll grab Jason! Everyone else…"

Eren's legs moved before he could think.

What is he doing there? He's gonna die! I need to do something! I need to… Believe in myself!

Eren threw the vial with the strange liquid into his mouth and crunched into the glass. Feeling the liquid go down his throat, he sensed an intense energy originating from the cut on his forehead surrounding him.

Air swirled around Eren as his titan form grew below him. First the Skeleton, then the tendons, then the muscles, all appearing in the blink of an eye. He was getting used to the transformation, however this time felt a little different. He noticed a strange tinge all around his body when he landed in this titan form.

But that didn't matter. All that mattered was saving Jason and the others.

He knelt, focusing on the crystallized earth.

This cave was built by titans. But he didn't need to build something complicated. Just enough support to stop the cave in on top of him.

He started with Jason. He felt the earth harden underneath him. Its crystallized stream traveled across the floor, shooting up at random intervals to create a large cage. The first stream of crystal he shot reached Jason. Eren hardened a cage surrounding the boy, right before a piece of the roof could hit him.

Eren looked up. He could see the debris falling through the cage he had made. He needed to release more hardening. He needed to release more of that liquid he consumed.

I need more pillars, more rows, more crystals! I need more!

The last thing Eren remembered before he crystallized everything was his titan form roaring at the ceiling.
