"Chrome Disaster? That's impossible. All of the Kings of pure color wiped it out years ago. Minus White of course." The Black King stated with genuine worry.
"Kuroyukihime, is this burst Linker really so terrifying? How is the Black Legion supposed to handle something the highest level players fear?" The chubby boy stated sadly.
"Oh, Haruyuki, it is not an individual. Rather, an advanced armament that acts like a virus. It drives the wielder to be aggressive and dangerous. The unlucky avatar it latches onto loses rationality very quickly." Black Lotus was upset about the boy she likes going against that thing.
"So you guys in or what?" Scarlet Rain stated with an uncaring tone.
"Fine, you did stalk my legion member into compliance after all. Though I really don't think we have enough fire power. You never can be sure what could happen in the UNF. I am a notorious rebel, after all." The black haired senior stated with finality.
"Yeah, yeah, you're so hard-core. Just spare me your overconfident crap. I already took care of it. Our backup will meet us there. No worries, my second in command vouches for them." Without further words, the current Red King entered the game.
The rest logged in a few seconds later. Haruyuki briefly thought. 'She could at least have given them a name.'
UNF...
"So where is your precious backup, Rain-kun." Kuroyukihime stated with annoyance.
"Drop the unnecessary suffix Black Lotus. I'm not in the mood to throw up in my helmet. They'll be shadowing us to prevent an ambush. The two Burst Linkers were told not to interfere unless something goes wrong."
"Hmm, well, Red King. I admit that is a solid strategy. You are smarter than you look."
As the two leaders bantered while they walked. Silver Crow kept himself alert along with Cyan Pile. Suddenly, a sharp roar overrode all other noise.
"Chrome Disaster!" Silver and Black stated nearly in the same breath.
'Cherry Rook, I'm sorry. This will be your final battle.' Scarlet Rain immediately deployed her advanced armament as a massive obstacle. Hopefully, the creature took the bait as she hid in its shadow. One blow was all the legionmaster needed.
After the battle...
"This isn't good. we're all drained after that." Cyan Pile stated with an edge in his voice.
Manic laughter echoed all around. "I know, right? I only expected Scarlet Rain. Who knew it would be a two for one special? Isn't that wonderful, Black Lotus?"
"Yellow Radio, you manipulative bastard! I'm going to crush you!"
"Temper temper, I'm just here to subjugate Chrome Disaster after it wiped out the Black Legion. Poor Red King, she died heroically defending their bodies. Total point loss is a terrible tragedy for so many. Isn't that right, everyone?
A huge group came into view encircling the tired party. "Yes, boss, you're a real softy for sure."
Suddenly, a savage roar preceded two level ones' respawn timers triggering. Steel Bear made sure to fill his special gauge completely while he waited on the others. Time and destructive environments were such a cheat. His Beserk Mode was modified when he hit level four. It now had a thirty percent hit point drain per damage dealt. So that meant he just had to keep fighting to stay up. Fortunately, there were a lot of enemies around. Eventually, his opponents surrounded him with some slashing resistant avatars. However, he was not alone.
A red avatar wielding dual pistols appeared out of thin air. He focused his fire on keeping an escape route open for his metal rival. When Pomegranate Cannon hit level five, he gained an advanced armament called the Hades Mantle. It made him invisible until he attacked. It was very helpful for scouting and sniping. Too bad it only blocked sight. Leaving tracks and sound were annoying disadvantages.
"Well, looks like the Yellow King is not as informed as he likes to think. I admit seeing him so shocked is entertaining. I will handle him. See to the small fry." Black Lotus stated with cold finality.
As the mass battle commenced, the Black Legion and their allies slowly pushed towards an exit. The clash of Kings sent waves of power thru the area. No player was stupid enough to approach that battle.
'Level nines are so powerful! I really need to train more.' Yuske thought as he took down another Avatar. That one was tougher than he expected. He noticed an escape point was finally in reach. That was when Yellow Radio initiated his special move. The world began to spin violently.
Pomegranate Cannon was busy trying to keep from throwing up. 'Calm down! It's a sound based illusion with visual stimuli. Just close your eyes and breathe slowly.'
"Looks like the head of the Yellow Legion is still a coward. I look forward to defeating you!" Black Lotus noticed her enemies lose morale and begin to flee. However, something surprising caught her eye. Without any formal training, Steel Bear was unconsciously using the Incarnate System. He was sloppy about it, but he was definitely on the edge of a breakthrough. 'What an interesting fellow. No wonder White Cosmos was investigating him.'
As everything began to settle down. Canon and Bear had started fighting back to back. The battle was soon over as the ambushers headed for a different log out point. That team up was too much trouble for most of the enemy. A few tested their luck and became respawn counters.
Steel met red armor in a fist bump just before logging. "Nicely done, Pom. We make a good team. All those matches against each other really paid off."
"Yeah, maybe we should try team matches sometime. I'll go first." Pomegranate Cannon grinned happily as he disappeared.
Reality...
Thesseus looked around the prop room of the Drama Club. As he oriented himself to the real world. His Club President Lue-Fei Weh ran in excitedly.
"Yamino-dono guess what? I have completed my first original play! With some help from the Vice-President and Treasurer." The smaller Chinese girl was bouncing in place.
"That's great Weh-san! What's it about?" The blonde showed off his winning smile. Her excitement was quite infectious.
"It's a love story with action and mystery. We'll start casting later during the club." She grinned widely as she thought about it. "Yamino-dono can you please invite Shouada-chan?"
"Uh sure, he isn't busy today. I'll ask later at lunch." With that the Red Legionaire headed off to his next class.
As she watched her Clubs prince depart. She laughed at her good fortune. 'We have to have the lead's main love interest after all!'
