Prologue: The Pandora Concert

Disclaimer: I do not own Katekyo Hitman Reborn! or Senki Zessho Symphogear.

It was a bright and bustling day in Tokyo, especially at a certain concert stadium. The banner-like screens in the surrounding area were promoting a relatively new but popular idol group that had been active for only a couple years, Zwei Wing. The attendees have already formed a line, each one doing their own thing while waiting for their turn to to enter.

"Miku where are you? I'm already at the stadium," a random girl near the end of the line said into her phone. Her name is Tachibana Hibiki. She was thirteen years old with light brown hair and orange eyes, she was wearing pink dress and blouse under a light pink jacket and hanging a purse over her shoulder. In nearly every way she looked like any ordinary girl her age would be expected to.

The one thing that broke this image was a chain that was hanging from her left waist. Even the chain it self looked odd. It was composed of eight cubes, each one had links protruding from their sides as well as a slot to put something in. Five out of eight of these cubes held rings.

They were all made of a silver-like metal with uniquely colored but still transparent octagon shaped stones that showed different symbols as well as having animals on the top.

The first ring had a blue and light green gem and displayed clock face, it had a shibainu and a sparrow.

The second ring was green and bright orange and had horse shoe shaped magnet. The bull on top looked like it was ready to charge at anything

The third ring was yellow and dark green gem and a had cheery blossom. The kangaroo was ready to go into a boxing ring.

The fourth ring was purple and white and had a mobius strip. A nervous hedgehog seemed ready to hide.

The fifth ring's gem was pure black and had a crescent moon. The raven's glare was like it could penetrate anything.

"Sorry, something came up," another voice came from the other end.

"CHE COSA? Sei tu che mi hai invitato," the first girl exclaimed, startling the surrounding individuals. Hibiki had trusted her enough to tell how she would cry whenever she was moon watching because she felt like something important was missing from her life. For Miku to suddenly ditch her like this really surprised her.

"Hibiki, your speaking in Italian again," said Kohinata Miku. She was a young girl the same age as Hibiki, has teal green eyes and used a yellow bow to tie up her black hair in a ponytail. She was currently dressed in a light green dress and dangaling from a string from around her neck was a ring. Like the other rings that hibiki had it's octagonal gem was colored indigo and gray and it's symbol looked like a buzzsaw blade, but instead of a hole in the middle it had a four pointed star. Atop it was an owl that seemed to always be observing. "Anyways, my aunt in Morioka had an accident, so my father is going to drive us there now."

"I don't even really know this group… it even fells like something special is going to happen with how much movement is going on in the basement."

Miku sighed at the statement, "There you go again, noticing things that should be impossible."

It was something that she realized about Hibiki not long after they met: Hibiki could feel when something was wrong. Another ability Hibiki has was the ability to sense the general shapes of anything solid regardless if she could see them or not, not that useful when dealing with people but it showed it's strength when dealing with a machine with a lot of moving part or to keep from getting lost in a maze.

"I'm really sorry," finished Miku before hanging up.

Slightly depressed, Hibiki reached under her neckline and pulled out another ring on a string: it's unlike the others in that rather than a single gem there were thirteen fragments in the colors of the previous rings in addition to red and brown shards forming a circle. At the center was what appeared to be a sunrise/sunset, above that was a small clam and below was a banner that read "Orizzonte Famiglia," and below that was a compass symbol.

"Forse sono maledetto…"

Inside the stadium backstage, a girl in a white cloak and a hood over her head was siting nervously behind a crate waiting for the show to start.

She was one half of the idol group, Zwei Wing, Kazanari Tsubasa. The tall woman had blue eyes and part of her waist long hair held in a left side ponytail. Her slim figure was hidden by the cloak.

"It's like there's nothing to do to pass the time or anything," said another girl, catching Tsubasa's attention. She proceeded to take a seat on another create while continuing, "The time right before a show sucks, doesn't it?"

"Mmhm," agreed Tsubasa.

"We just wanna get out there and go wild, but we can't even do that," complained the other girl. Like Tsubasa she was wearing a white cloak with a hood, although hers' is down making it easier to see her waist length red hair and eyes. This was the other half of Zwei Wing, Tsubasa's parter,

Amou Kanade.

"Right…" admitted Tsubasa, actually saying something in a quiet voice. Kanade immediately took notice of this.

"What? Are you nervous, Tsubasa?" teased the red head.

"O-Of course!" spoke the bluenet, louder yet no less nervous, "Sakurai said today is really important-"

Tsubasa was interrupted when Kanade gently flicked her on the forehead, "Your too serious!"

"Kanade! Tsubasa! So this is where you were?" spoke up a man's voice.

"Commander!"

"Oh, it's the boss, Genjurou!" commented Kanade in her usual casual tone.

Anyone that looked at him would immediately describe him as a strong fighter. He had chiseled features, red eyes and a mane of red hair along with a matching goatee. Despite currently being dressed in a suit, his large build and tan skin made it obvious that he trained outside a lot.

"I think you already know this, but today is…"

"You wanna say "important," right?" interrupted Kanade, "We know already! So don't worry!"

"Just as long as you know," commented Genjurou, unbothered by her attitude, "The future of the human race is riding on the results of today's concert."

He pulled out a smart to make a call.

"Hello! This is Sakurai Ryouko," spoke the voice on the other end, "Everything is ready here."

"Understood. I'll be right over."

As Genjurou hang up his phone Kanade stood up and promised, "Leave the stage to us."

"Mhm."

Soon it was only the two girls who were left.

"Well, let's leave the hard stuff to the boss and Ryouko-san. We should just have fun out there!" said Kanade while doing some light streching. After Tsubasa failed to respond she knelt down and huged her from behind, "You're too serious, Tsubasa…if you take this too seriously, you're liable to snape eventually."

"Kanade…" spoke the bluenet, touched by her friend's words.

"You're my partner, Tsubasa," continued Kanade, "When you look like that, I can't have fun.

"mhm," acknowledged Tsubasa, "If we aren't enjoying it, the people who've come to see us won't, either, right?"

"See? You get it."

"I feel that, as long as we're together, it'll work out somehow," she said with a renewed confidence.

"yeah, you and me…" said Kanade, "We're Zwei Wing, two wings that can fly to the ends of the Earth."

"We can overcome anything," acknowledged Tsubasa.

Together they grabbed each other's had and headed to the stage.

From the moment they flew down to the stage Hibiki was entranced. They sang beautifully and their costumes and dance invoked the image of angels and the very wings that they were named after.

I'm so excited, I can't take my eyes off them! Incredible! So this is what a concert is like! Hibiki felt the energy in the air from the audience, it felt like everyone's feelings had become one and were entering her body.

I want to give them rings. This was a thought that she had only ever had when she meet Miku, other times she felt like she had to be super selective about who would receive a ring.

Nothing can ruin this day!

"THE ENERGY IS IN THE RED!?" yelled a random assistant.

In a lab below the stadium, several dozen scientist were trying to keep their experiment from blowing up.

It was suppose to be a simple experiment: inject the necessary phonic gain generated by the concert into a relic and activate it. However despite everything going as planed initially it didn't take long for things to go wrong.

"Don't panic! Focus on identifying the issue and keeping it under control!" yelled Genjurou. He then turned to the woman to his right, "Ryoko-kun, do you have any idea at what is going on?"

The woman in question had her brown hair in a beehive bun held in place by a butterfly hair clip and her violet eyes were behind a pair of red rimmed glasses. She was wearing a lab coat over a light blue blouse and black miniskirt.

"I'm analyzing as fast as I can," she said as she worked over her console, "once I fin- got it! What the hell?"

"What's wrong?"

"The Nehushtan Armor is not filtering the phonic gain."

"Filter?" asked a surprised Genjurou.

"Yeah, as you know, phonic gain actually comes in multiple types."

He remembered, complete relics mostly took in various types of phonic gain and gradually awaken the core. Because they lacked anyway to identify the energy in real time, they most often had to gather many different kinds of phonic gain or try to brute force past the filter to activate a 'core.' This is also why relic fragments, which lack a core, won't activate for just anyone.

"I've found that all the phonic gain is focusing around a new type before going to the armor," explained Ryoko, "this new phonic gain is both unaffected by the filter and acting a bypass for the rest, resulting in excess energy making the armor go out of control."

Genjurou was momentarily stun'd as the implications washed over him. Phonic gain was originally viewed as simply a power source for certain types of heretical technology, to hear that an undiscovered phonic gain interacting with others and alter how relics worked was mind blowing. He wondered if one phonic gain did this, then how many more things were they overlooking?

"The safeties are shutting off!"

"We still have a lot of show to go!" Kanade announced after the song ended.

BOOM!

Soon after, an explosion went shocking and confusing all the onlookers. It wasn't long until Kanade noticed the ash drifting through the air.

"The Noise are coming!" she realized.

In the sky dozens of flying creatures with only wings and a head reminiscent of a hammer head shark flew down and began to attack the audience while out of the crater rose giant monsters that had a slight resemblance to four legged worms with horns and a pair of arms. The larger monsters immediately began releasing slime that transformed into smaller land bound that chased the members of the audience. Some loosely had a humanoid shape while other resembled a tadpol.

"IT'S THE NOISE!"

The people began to run in fear from the creatures called the Noise, those who failed to get away were turned to ash along side the creature that made contact with them, their cries for help unfulfilled.

Unable to continue watching, Kanade turned to Tsubasa and spoke, "Let's fly, Tsubasa! We're the only ones here carrying a spear and sword!"

"B-But the commander didn't say anything… Kanade!" Tsubasa tried to dis sway she jumped off the stage!

"Croitzal ronzell Gungnir zizzl," she sang, loosing her original costume as she was surrounded by an orb of light. As she was released from the orb she was dressed in a red and wight leotard with a pair of thrusters attached to her lower back, thigh high black boots, a pair of thick white gantlets and finally two horns protruding from her head.

As she landed she brought her gantlets together and they launched, transforming in to a large blade followed extending a shaft that Kanade caught. Using her newly formed spear she begun attacking the Noise while singing, after eliminating a few of them she jumped high into the air throw her weapon. It then multiplied and the attack hit many of the monsters.

Stardust Foton

Meanwhile the lab bellow the stadium was in ruins and most of the staff was reduced to corpses. The only surviver who could be seen was Genjurou.

"Ryoko-kun…Ryoko-kun, are you all right?" he called out as he regained consciousness. Instead of a response from his missing colleague he noticed a rainbow colored aura coming from the front of the room.

"The Nehushtan Armor…" he realized.

Before he could even do anything the room started to collapse.

Back up in the stadium, Tsubasa had joined the battle. Like Kanade her own appearance had also changed: she was wearing a white, black and blue leotard with blade like thusters on her back, black boots that reached up to meet her black thigh armor and had white boosters/wings/blades attached to her heels and a blade like hair piece.

She sliced through her enemies with a fighting style based on the blade she has summoned as well as the blades on her heels using kicks.

Meanwhile Kanade made the blade of her spear start to spin and create a twister that followed the spear's swings.

Last Meteor

The twister sliced though many enemies and even destroyed one of the larger Noise. Like a coordinated dance Kanade and Tsubasa tore the Noise's numbers down, displaying their trust and teamwork.

"What is this?"

Meanwhile in the stands, Hibiki could only stand in shock and fear. Both because of the attack and Zwei Wing's sudden transformation. although she knew about the Noise for years this was the first time she has ever seen and attack. What scared her the most was the fact she could barely read them. Her intuition could sometimes help her read another person or tell when a vehicle was about to break down, but when It came to the Noise she could not get a read on them.

As Hibiki continued to watch, Kanade and Tsubasa kept heading to the Noises' main force and eliminating opponent that got neat them. Soon the Noise turned their bodies into projectiles which where blocked. While stabbing one of the more human Noise, Kanade unleashed another Last Meteor that destroyed even more noise. After words she could feel a change going through, she was getting weaker!

"That's all the time I get?" she said, frustrated, before she had to block an attack, pushing her back.

It was at that time that the bleachers that Hibiki was standing in collapsed, causing her to fall and gaining Kanade's attention. As Hibiki recovered from the fall she felt a stinging pain shoot through her right knee. Afterwords a few Noise had started to notice and head towards her.

Hibiki recoiled in fear and just as the Noise was about to reach her Kanade got between them and destroyed the Noise.

"Start running," yelled Kanade.

Relizing that she was protecting her, Hibiki got up and started to limp away, the pain from her injured knee not helping in the slightest. Multiple Noise had started to notice the girl and her protector and turned themselves into projectiles to destroy them. Kanade spun her spear to act as a shield, but despite that her armor was still taking damage showing that she would not last long.

"Kanade!" yelled Tsubasa in concern. Two of the larger Noise started spraying slime at Kanade, but she continued to spin her spear to block most of the damage. But her armor was still gradually taking damage. "Kanade!" Tsubasa yelled out again, unable to find an opening to help her friend.

While blocking an expensively powerful blow lose debris go sent flying back with some fragments piercing Hibiki's chest, sending blood flying as she fell to the ground. Kanade looked in shock as the civilian took near fatal damage.

"Hay, don't die!" Kanade yelled as she raced to the fallen girl. "Open your eyes! Don't give up on life!"

In response, Hibiki groggily opened her eyes dispite the pain she was in. The older girl briefly felt a wave of relief before realizing she would not survive a prolonged battle. Before she could do anything she was surprised by the younger holding up her left arm, presenting a ring with a black stone. Hesitantly she accepted the ring and slid it on her right middle finger.

My body suddenly feels lighter, thought Kanade, who is this girl? Shaking her head she pushed the question to the back of her mind. After all, with what she was planing she wouldn't have the opportunity to find out.

"You know, I've always wanted to try emptying my heart and body, just singing for all I'm worth," spoke Kanade as she picked up her spear, "Look at how many came to listen to me today. That's why I'm going to give them everything I have." Like her armor, her spear also started to show signs of breaking down. "I'll give them my best. The Superb Song." A single tear fell down her cheek as she knew this was the last time she would sing.

"Gatrandis Babel ziggurat Edenal.

Emustolronzen Fine el Balal zizzl."

"Kanade, no! Don't sing!" yelled Tsubasa as she realized what she was planning. Kanade continued to sing.

"Gatrandis Babel ziggurat Edenal."

"I can hear… a song," whispered Hibiki. As if she heard her, Kanade's thoughts reflected on her last moments as she sang.

That's right. It's my last song, the one that burns with life.

"Emustolronzen fine el zizzl."

As she finished the song, a single drop of blood streamed down from the corner of her mouth. Suddenly a shock wave was released from her body, every Noise that came in to contact with it was instantly turned to ash.

For hibiki, it was as if the world had gone silent despite all the damage caused by the attack. Her vision faded in and out, all she could see was Kanade collapsing, Tsubasa clutching her friend's body and finally Kanade disappearing from the world.

As the girl opened her eyes she saw she was in surgery. Two men were fixing her body

"I'm alive…"

Floating off to the side was what appeared to be a baby wearing bandages around its head, a top hat on top of it, a mantel covering the rest of its body and a large clear pacifier tied around its neck.
