Hey guys, finally I have a series of days off to write. I've also been trying to play more YuGiOh and buy packs in real life to learn about more cards than what I can find on Master Duel. I really thrive on reviews and would love suggestions for decks you want me to look into as well as ways to change Link/Synchro/XYZ monsters into playable cards in this state of the game. Part of the reason this took so long is I didn't know what kind of deck I want this girl to run! Anyways, into the story!

She took her stance before placing a spell card on her Duel Disk. "I activate the Spell Card Foolish Burial! It allows me to send a monster from my Deck to my Graveyard. I'll send Gem Knight Garnet! Next I'll discard Gem Knight Obsidian to Special Summon Brilliant Rose. Gem Knight Obsidian's effect activates since I sent him from my hand to the Graveyard, allowing me to summon a Normal monster in my graveyard to the field! Here's Gem Knight Garnet!"

In quick succession the blue rose made of crystals burst from the ground as a large man in black armor appeared for a moment over the graveyard slot before a man in orange/yellow armor came to the field with a shout, jumping out of the graveyard and onto the field with a shout and a slam.

"My turn ain't finished darlin', I activate the effect of Brilliant Rose! By sending my Gem Knight Zirconia from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard, Brilliant Rose's name becomes Gem Knight Zirconia for the rest of the turn! Now, I'll activate Gem Knight Fusion, allowing me to summon a Gem Knight Fusion Monster from my Extra Deck using cards on the field and in the hand as material. I'll send Garnet and "Zirconia" from my field, and my Tourmaline from hand to Fusion summon Gem Knight Master Diamond!"

Her two monsters left the field as they were sucked into the air and transformed into particles of light. A light flew from the graveyard hologram as the "energy" of the card sent there from hand was added. The energy coalesced in the air as a large man with a flowing mantle appeared with a battle cry. A large black sword rest on his shoulder, gemstones of every kind embossed in the center of the blade.

"His effect activates, and he gains 300 attack for the 3 Gem Knight Monsters in the Graveyard!"

The knight shone with light, growing larger yet.

"With that, I'll end my turn. Show me what you've got now sugar." She smiled with a sultry grin. She can tell I think she's pretty and like her accent. Anything she can leverage huh? Fair enough.

I look at my cards, Bob looking over my shoulder. We can work with this. "Draw" picking up the card, I smile as I see what I got. I can finally actually play this card! It's been banned since I got into the game, so I have never used it even once!

"I activate… POT OF GREED!"

I slam the card down onto my Duel Disk with the flair and energy this legendary card deserves. " This card allows me to-"

"Literally everyone knows what that does sweetie, you can just keep going with your turn."

I frown at being cut off from saying the legendary line. But shrug and draw my cards. I freeze, smiling while checking our life points. Doesn't reeeeeeally show off what Gemini cards can do, and it will end the Duel quick, but oh well. She put cards on the line, gotta play for keeps.

"I activate Dimer Synthesis! This card allows me to search out a Catalyst Field from my deck. Next I'll activate the Catalyst Field! Using both of it's effects, I can Summon Phoenix Gearfried in Attack Position without Tributing or using my Normal Summon for turn! Now I'll summon Red Eyes Archfiend of Lightning! I'll activate Black Pendant and Equip it to my Phoenix Gearfried! This increases his Attack by 500!"

My Field turned orange and misty, like we were in a nebula, surrounded by new stars being born via chain reactions. Then the field surged, and out came Phoenix Gearfried in his shining white and red Armor, massive shield in tow. He slammed the shield down before letting out a yell. "AND NOW, THE STAR OF THE SHOW HAS ARRIVED! TIS I, GRAND GEARFRIED GARBED IN GLORIOUS GLITTERING FLAMES!"

…What. I threw a glance at my opponent, but she didn't say anything, so I must have just imagined it. "NO MY LIEGE YOU DID NOT IMAGINE THAT" Phoenix Gearfried shouted proudly. "I AM QUITE REAL AND PRESENT READY TO SLAUGHTER OUR ENEMIES IN THE NAME OF OUR KINGDOM OF… ahem, my liege, what is the name of our kingdom?"

Okay, way too much for me to handle right now. Good news is, I know what my second archetype is for My Duel Spirit, or ka. It's Gearfried, which I would be excited about, but this guy seems to be insane. While I was gawking at him, a massive black and red demon had formed in a lightning strike, while a man in red appeared kneeling in the Spell/Trap Zone. When he felt the energy giving him strength, Phoenix Gearfried gave a Flex (it was capitalized in my mind?!) as his attack jumped from 2800-3300

Red Eyes Archfiend of Lightning Normal/Fiend 2500/1200

Phoenix Gearfried Normal/Warrior 3300/2200

My opponent is glaring at me now, probably wondering why my turn is taking so damn long. Knowing what I do now, I need these Gearfried copies. I shake my head before smirking.

"Say…" a quick glance at the name on the score tab reveals her name to be Jasmine*. "Jasmine, shall we up the ante? If I can win on this turn, I can have all the cards I've used to build this deck!"

Jasmine arches her brow, before surveying the battlefield and smirking. "Fine by me, you have no Normal summon, you took no removal cards, I checked, and you didn't double summon Gearfried to allow it to be used as Tribute material for Catalyst Field's Effect. And if you did that you wouldn't be able to hit me for game anyways! It doesn't seem like you really know how to use those cards… I'd recommend finding something in the beginner area sweetie."

Despite knowing I'm going to win this turn, that one stung a little. Even her trash talk is decent. But she really overcommitted. Time to make her pay.

"I activate the effect of Immortal Phoenix Gearfried in my hand! I can Banish an Equip Spell from the field of graveyard to Special Summon him! Come out, Immortal Phoenix Gearfried!"

If the corona of light that came from the ground to summon Phoenix Gearfried was massive, this was a literal sun rising before us. An insanely large ball of light erupted from the field, before fading as a flaming, winged version of my other Gearfried card came to the field. This one abandoning his shield for a ridiculously long Buster Sword. I hesitate, waiting for shenanigans, before my cocky smirk returns to my face.

"Black Pendants Effect activates, when it leaves the field my opponent takes 500 damage! Now I activate the Graveyard effect of Dimer Synthesis, selecting Phoenix Gearfried and Immortal Phoenix Gearfried! This Effect allows me to take the attack from a Gemini Monster and another monster I control and combine them, giving them to whichever monster I choose! I choose Phoenix Gearfried!"

Phoenix Gearfried Posed (please why is it capitalized) again, his attack skyrocketing from 2800-5800.

Jasmine's face had been pale this entire time, but she rallied here. "Ha! But Master Diamond still prevents the FTK! Darlin' when I win you'll be working at the card store for the rest of your time at Duel Academy! Say goodbye to your free time sweetie!"

That saccharine tone made my hairs stand on end, but before I could retort a booming voice echoed and I groaned. Of course it was every Gearfried card. "WHO DECIDED THAT. As I move to battle phase my effect activates as I move to battle. I equip Master Diamond to myself, bringing my Attack up to 500! ORA!"

THIS MOTHERFCUKER JUST TOOK MY TURN?! Wait a minute, how did all that happen, Jasmine can't hear my Spirits! As I look over at her I see her struggling to hold in a laugh. And then it clicks. She didn't hear Gearfried, Gearfried spoke that from my mouth word for word. But I heard his voice. She only heard those words from my teen voice cracking mouth. Pharaoh Atem strike me down now please. Shaking off my embarrassment and glaring at my card, I attack with Phoenix Gearfried and Red Eyes Archfiend for game.

Walking over to my still laughing opponent I hood out my hand to shake, and she takes it. I smile but put on a confused expression. "I thought you'd be more mad at getting swindled out of a deck, but I'm glad my… enthusiasm has helped with that."

She stopped laughing at that, but instead of looking angry at the money she lost she only looks, sad? "No one has taken an interest in the Gemini cards in 4 years, even with the recent support it has gotten. People just don't care to work around it. The last person I know of that used those cards died two years ago. Seeing someone else use them the way he did makes me happy. Use them proudly, and I'll gladly cover the cost."

Seeing her look so genuine, I compare the her now to the teasing girl from just a few seconds ago, and decide I should bring her back out. "Bet you thought I'd be too busy ogling you to Duel huh?" I said with a wide grin, staring at her out of the corner of my eye.

She snaps out of her funk and that teasing gleam comes back. "Well I thought it would be a factor the way you were staring at me earlier, but hearing you talk about Gearfried earlier shows me where your interests lie, so it only makes sense I lost."

I splutter at that. "It's nothing like that! I just like Warrior monsters. I'm a lover of women and women only. I'm sure Gearfried is a wonderful lover but I'm not on the menu!"

She chuckles at that, before turning to walk away. Over her shoulder, she lets out a call. "See you in class, sugar."

I frizz out at that. In class?! She's my age?! And goes to Duel Academy?! I don't remember her from GX, who is this lady?! Wait a minute, her name was Jasmine! Wasn't one of Alexis's friends named Jasmine? But she doesn't look anything like this girl! Much less work at the card shop! I thought Jasmine was rich in the anime?

As I leave the shop I ponder it for a few moments, before remembering the other big news from the Duel. Black Metal, go fuck yourself."

Immediately the iguana sized dragon starts cackling like mad, sounding like a seagull trying to eat a telephone pole to me but maybe I'm just pissed. "What, not a fan of your newest set of 'vassals'? You know most people don't get a single Duel Spirit, much less an inborn connection to two whole archetypes. You should be grateful, even if Gearfried is eccentric at best." The entire time he's got a smug smirk on his face. He seems to have forgotten he has to deal with him too. Ohhhhh Geeeearfriiiiiied.

"Yes, my liege?! Tis I, Glorious Gallant Gearfried here to assist you! What is the name of our kingdom Your Excellence? Why are you so small? A true king of knights shall be the most massive of us all! We shall get started on your training IMMEDIATELY. This is for your own good my liege! Now, assume your fighting stance!"

Gearfried switched between shadow boxing and, is he fucking Jojo posing?! Not the point. Despite his willingness to fight, Gearfried forgot to take something into account. His size. Right now he is about the size of a Funko Pop, big head and all. It's throwing his movements off when he likes his punches, but he doesn't let that slow him down at all. He's also fuzzy. Wait, what?! I take a knee on the sidewalk as the world starts to spin. Bob gives a short before disappearing. "Having us both out at once drains you at a rate you aren't ready for. Not to mention Phoenix Gearfried is WAY too big for your soul to handle right now. Should have been specific kid."

I roll my eyes at the cantankerous spirit, before I remember something! "Wait, if I can change the gearfried in front of me into that card, I can gain Duel Energy for both Red Eyes and Gearfried Cards!

"Gearfried, Red Eyes Iron Knight, come forth!"

The white and red knight in front of me warped away, and from the portal left behind a man stepped out. A man this time, no bobble head. He is garbed in black armor with a buster sword, and Red Eyes gleam out from the slit in the visor. He slowly inclines his head before slamming his hand on his chest plate, before growling out, "Master". He sounds like Reaper from Overwatch. Of course he does. Well at least this one isn't shouting at me constantly and flexing. I do miss the Jojo poses already though. Bob is still shuffling for some reason, I'm sure I'll figure it out later. And hate it. Fuck this lizard.

I drag my tired feet back to the Ra Dorm, find my room, and collapse in my bed for a nap before dinner. Who knew having a Level 8 and Level 1 monster manifested in the real world would take it out of you?

But I wouldn't be getting rest even in sleep. I 'awoke' in my mindscape to Gearfried and Bob the Black Metal Dragon standing before me in an Arena. Is this my mindscape or a part of the Red Eyes domain? Who knows, and it certainly didn't matter that day.

"Good, you're here my lord."

"Hehe, here we go…"

I arch my brow before beckoning at Gearfried to continue, as he clearly has something to say.

"Master, you're weak as fuck."

I scowl at the knight before suddenly he's in front of me and ohmygodthatshisnfistfuck-

My supposed 'vassal' caves my face in and pile drives me into the floor, where I slam into the ground and dribble away from him at Mach Fuck.

Upon landing I wake up, surprised to be waking up, completely unharmed. Well, I felt the pain, but my face should be an innie right now, and it's not. Mindscape shenanigans? Must be, but now to address my psychopath bodyguard.

"What in the actual fuck was that Gearfried!? You wanna see if I'm weak or not, fine."

I remove my coat all dramatic, adrenaline fueling me despite knowing I was about to bare knuckle box with who I'm pretty sure is Captain America in plate mail. I roll up my sleeves and take a stance, covering my abdomen as best I can. His next punch is still ridiculously fast, but I at least see it this time. I catch it with my left fist, but the forearm guard digs into my arm and pulls it away before he reads back and pimp slaps we away from him with his other hand. I pirouette midair as I smack into the arena wall. Again.

"As I said, my liege. Weak. We will be rectifying this issue."

I growl and attempt to stand, but now I really feel like I'm going to pass out. I look over at Bob, who's rolling on the ground he's laughing so hard. I'm gonna make him into a jacket I swear to god.

Gearfried stands before me, and meets my gaze. "Fire in your eyes, good. Good. You'll need that." With that he stomps on my face and I know black.

I awake to the sound of panting, and shifting metal. Sweet Atem please tell me he isn't out there right now. I peer my eye open to see Benji staring at my bed in fear, sweating profusely as he does pushups under the watchful eye of my Gearfried. Oh shit. He can see him. Oh shit.

"H-help, Riley-" "Silence squire. You need more training before you can address his Majesty!"

He turns to me, and speaks. "Sorry for the rough treatment my liege, but I had to get my point across. You need training. Duel spirits can manifest themselves in the real world, and not all of them will settle their disputes with a card game. No matter how sacred the game is to us. You need to be capable of defending yourself. The training will also expand your ba."

I glare at him anyways, before sighing and nodding my head. I look at Benji before looking back at him. Gearfried looks… sheepish? "I assumed this boy was your attendant, and deemed him also weak. He will be your training and sparring partner when you need it. I wasn't sure what to do when I found him here, so I simply trained him." With that he glanced back at Benji. "Did I tell you to stop?" With a yelp Benji resumed his push-ups, panting all the while.

With a sign, I tell Benji to stop doing push-ups. This was going to be a long conversation. "I know you have a million questions and have no idea what's happening but we don't have time to talk about it. We have a banquet to go to, and I have a pompous no name to smear. Gearfried, please dismiss yourself for the night. Benji go shower man, you reek."

Benji looked like he wanted to say something, but decided against it. As he shuffled to the door, towel in hand, I heard him grumble. "I know we have a fucking banquet to go to, why do you think I was coming to wake you up… what I get for being nice…" Oh well, I'm sure he'll get over it.

And that should be wraps! I'm pretty sure I used Dimer Synthesis wrong but I'm fresh off a night shift and just needed to make some progress on a story to scratch that itch. Let me know what you think of Jasmine! I thought her character in GX was bland, so I added my own flair to her! And by that I mean I made her a carbon copy of best girl from Blue exorcist. I also gave her a different backstory, the same as Alexis's actually. This gives Riley a reason to be in that area when the Shadow Game takes place. Should be fun! I might make it a tag duel of some kind, but who knows. Anyways like I said let me know what decks you think I should use! More for OCs and updated decks:better archetypes for certain characters. Syrus is a fine character but maaaaaan do Vehichroids stink. See y'all hopefully soon, my update schedule probably won't be consistent unless I can make a profit from this big enough to warrant it. This is my passion for now, not yet my business. If this picks up traction I'll pump out chapters and make a Pat-re-on. But until then, you'll have to make do. Sorry I'm advance,
