Uzumaki Mito's POV

The girl sitting on the hospital bed in front of me was clearly a natural sensor. A very, very sensitive one at that. When she called me Red-san, I had a hard time deciding whether to punch her or laugh at her. Unfortunately, while I was choking, my control over my chakra slipped. I usually lessen it, because there are some sensitive sensor types in the village who get uncomfortable from being near my chakra. They say their skin starts to crawl and they have a little trouble breathing when they're right next to me. But those cases are few and far between, only three I can name. Most sensors are able to learn to control their sixth sense. Not to mention how the Kyubi's chakra affects them. He has been joined with me for so long that sensors are affected by my chakra tenfold.

This girl has no such experience, and doesn't even have her chakra unlocked. This could be an issue. I found out she was an orphan from the hospital staff, so I contacted Hiruzen and explained the situation. He was newly made Hokage, so he was now the guardian of all the orphans in the village, including this cute chibi. He had better show up, or I'll show him why Hashirama chose me to be his wife.

A short few minutes later, the door opened to reveal a young face belonging to one Sarutobi Hiruzen. Soon, he would be clan head, too. This poor boy would be under so much stress soon.

"Mito-san?" Hiruzen asked, but he sounded confused. It's like he almost can't believe a child so young could be so chakra sensitive. Which, is fair.

"This is the child," I answered. "She needs to get her chakra unlocked so she can learn to control this ability." I think her sensing may be even more sensitive than the Mind's eye of the Uzumaki. An impressive feat for one so young.

"And who will teach her, Mito-san?" Hiruzen asks. I think about for less than a second, having already come up with an answer a few moments ago.

"Well, hire the chuunin who walked her to the Academy to teach her. Surely he can help." I told him seriously, thinking that would be the end of it. It was not. Definitely.

"Unfortunately, Takashi-kun was promoted to Jonin today. That was his last official assignment before he was promoted," Hiruzen looked giddy. The kind of smile that was on his face usually meant bad things to the people who he was staring at. Who just so happened to be me. "You know, you haven't been on a mission in ages, I think you need something new. I think you should be the one to teach her."

Oh hell no, if this little shit thinks he can get away with this, he is sorely mistaken. "I am not teaching a child how to do chakra control, let alone to sense." I will not let someone else choose who I teach. Hiruzen is an intelligent person though, he may very well know more about her than I do.

"Oh, but aren't you getting lonely? You've been spending all this time since Hashirama-sensei's death by your lonesome," His smug look pissed me off. Maybe I was too quick to anger. I knew he was right, I was lonely and spiraling, but I didn't want to be with people. I needed a protege to pass on all of my techniques, but Tsunade already knew the hundred healings, and the Kyubi and my sealing would be passed on to the young Kushina. A mere seven year old, in her second year of the academy. She was brought here not two days before the destruction of our homeland. Maybe, I could teach this child my kenjutsu. Yes, that sounds good.

"Fine, but only if I get to teach her Kenjutsu as well," the look on Hiruzen's face was priceless, if only I could capture this moment forever.

"I suppose that is agreeable. Once she wakes, you'll be taking her home for the night and to teach her first lesson, and do please try not to overload her again. Oh, and do please check her affinity as soon as you get the chance." Before I could say anything, Hiruzen shunshinned out of the hospital.

Himari's POV

It was four o'clock in the afternoon when I woke up, with the red headed woman with the violent chakra next to me.

"Ah, you're finally awake," ignoring the sudden sense of deja vu, I look to the side to see the woman looking at me with a glint in her eyes. Scary. "Himari, it's become clear to the Hokage," Shit, what does the Hokage have to do with this? "And I, that you are a very sensitive sensor." That would explain it. He gave me a knowing look when he deliberately lessened his chakra at the Academy. "We both decided that I'll be teaching you how to control this, seeing as I'm the one who caused this."

What the fuck? Something must be wrong here. One of the most influential women in the village is going to teach me about chakra? There must be something going on underneath too. Uzumaki Mito is one of the most well known Kunoichi in the village, mostly because of her heritage and husband. I should just go along with it, I suppose.

"I suppose that makes sense, but I'm really really hungry. I haven't eaten all day, and I had intended to eat at that ramen place." I give her a downtrodden look, hoping she would take pity on me.

"I must apologize for my mistake. I've committed a cardinal sin by getting in the way of letting someone eat ramen. We'll get you some ramen on the way to my house." She looks genuinely ashamed of herself. How much does this woman love ramen?

"Yes!" This is the best news I've heard all day! "Wait, your house? Why are we going there?" The evil glint in her eyes increased tenfold, and I suddenly regret asking.

"Well of course, we're going to train there, so you don't' pass out from seeing an enemy ninja with high reserves." She got up from her chair, handing me my clothes to change be into. She left the room and waited outside for me to come outside. "Are you ready?"

"Of course, Red-sensei!" Her face faulted, and I felt in my soul that my training would be more hellish than had I not called her that.

"Yes, let's go Hima-Chibi."

My stomach is in a constant state of grumbling as we approach the Ramen stand. Stepping into the shop, we sit at the bar, much the same as we had when we had been here three hours ago. "One bowl of miso for the brat, and three pork's for me!" Mito has a powerful voice, probably from being married to the ever eccentric Shodaime Hokage.

"Coming right up, Uzumaki-sama!" The voice came from a short plump woman with light red hair, much lighter than Mito's. That fact actually made me curious.

"Mito-sensei, are the Akimichi and the Uzumaki related in anyway?"

"From our history textbooks in Uzushio, we believe that a sect of the Uzumaki split off and went deeper into the mainland and became the Akimichi. Their Uzumaki blood is diluted to the point that they don't share any more traits other than red hair and slightly larger than average chakra," Mito looked happy to talk about Uzushio, even just a little.

"Where is Uzushio?" My voice was hesitant asking the question.

"It was on an island off the coast of Wave Country, but it was destroyed a few years back. There are only two Uzumaki survivors known to Konoha."

"Oh, I'm sorry for asking, Mito-sensei," her face looked a little more downtrodden, but it was changed quickly when several bowls of ramen were placed in front of her. I took my eyes off of her to eat my own bowl that had been put in front of me. It's aroma was like no other, truly a masterful bowl of food. It was a perfect mix between savory and salty. Every ingredient came together in perfect harmony, the chopped carrots and green onions complimenting the miso soup perfectly. The noodles themselves were just the staging place for all of the flavor to come together.

As I finish my bowl, I look over to Mito to see six bowls stacked high. How does someone eat so much and maintain such a perfect figure?

"Alright brat, your food is on me this time, because I feel bad for interrupting your first attempt at eating the food of the gods today," Mito looks genuinely sorry for what she had done. She must really love ramen then.

"Thank you, Mito-sensei." Mito paid and then seemed to hurry out of the place, grabbing me along with her. "Mito-sensei, are you alright?"

"Yes, everything is fine, but we can't waste anymore time. I'm going to have you unlock your chakra by the end of today," Mito gave me a determined look, and it made me believe with my entire being that she would do it. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
