Chapter 10:
Draco attended the Ravenclaw party at 10.30 PM with his mates. He searched for ginny yet could not find her. At 11PM sharp, he noticed Pansy, Astoria and Amber come in, yet could not make out any red hair walking between them. After another half an hour of searching for the Weaslette like a maniac, searching every corner of the room, he took action. He went up to Pansy and Astoria, whom were giggling and laughing at the drinks table. After speaking to them for only he minute, he realized that these two weren't going to be of much use to him. They reeked of alcohol, slurred their words and giggled like idiots. Draco then only saw one other option. Amber.
It took him a second to find her, she was dancing in the middle of the room with some of her roomies from Hufflepuff. He went up to her.
Draco: Hey, Amber.
Amber turned around and her smiled faltered a bit.
Amber: Uhm, hey, Draco.
Draco: Yeah, so, uhm, d'you know where Ginny might be at?
Amber: I don't think she's gonna come- … Why do you need to know that?
Shit, Draco thought. He'd hoped Amber hadn't been clever enough to start asking questions.
Draco: Well, uhm, you see, uhm, …
Amber: Oh, my God.
Amber just stared at him, then swallowed hard. As she began speaking, Draco could hear her voice breaking and her eyes teared up.
Amber: It's Ginny, isn't it? Your secret girlfriend.
Amber ran out of the common room, with Draco on her heels.
Draco: Amber, hey, wait!
Draco grabbed Amber's wrist. He then chose his next words carefully.
Draco: Amber, Ginny's not my girlfriend. The things she did, she did for you… Ginny would never try to hurt you.
Amber shook her head violently and broke free out of his grasp, running away. Draco knew he'd fucked up. He didn't exactly care about Amber, but Ginny. She was gonna hate him.
He vaguely saw one of Ginny's friends run after Amber. He did not particularly care though. The only thing he could think about was that Ginny was gonna get hurt. And it'd be his fault. He sat down on one of the couches oin the common room while the music blasted through his ears. He didn't know how long he sat there but when he finally looked up, he saw a flash of red hair. His heart skipped a beat and he immediately stood upright. He then saw her, she was dancing, with a bottle of fire whiskey in her hand. Suddenly, someone bumped into Draco, sending him towards the redhead. He recovered quickly, but apparently Ginny wasn't exactly in the state to catch herself from falling. And so he surrounded Ginny with his arms, to catch her from falling.
Draco: Ginny? Are you alright? Ginny?
He had finally taken notice of the state she was in. Ginny was giggling and couldn't stand straight.
Ginny: Malfoy!
Ginny caught him in a tight embrace, making something tingle near Draco's nether regions.
Draco: Jezus, I thought you didn't drink?
Ginny: Well, apparently, now I fucking am!
Ginny was slurring her words and kept giggling. Draco decided it was time for some fresh air. He took her by the waist to keep her from falling while they made their way out the Ravenclaw common room. After having to push through the crowd, they finally made it out into the corridor. As they walked past the few people standing in the corridor, he couldn't help but notice a smoking Theodore Nott, looking at Ginny with hunger in his eyes. Bloody hell, Draco couldn't help but think about what would've happened if anyone else had gotten his hands on Ginny in her state. He shivered at the thought and subtly fastened his pace when they crossed Theodore. Finally, they made their way to the Gryffindor tower, after having to stop multiple times because Ginny started coughing and gagging.
Draco: Ginny?
He took her face in his hand, while holding her upright with the other.
Draco: C'mon, Ginny. Look at me.
Ginny blinked slowly at him, not understanding a word of what he was saying.
Draco: Ginny, I need you to tell me the password, okay?
Ginny, however, gave no sign of reaction to what he was saying. Draco looked around the deserted corridor, feeling a bit hopeless. Ginny then suddenly threw herself away from him, and held herself up against the wall with her hand. She started throwing up. Draco quickly went to hold her hair back and slowly patted on her back. When Ginny ultimately stopped, she slowly turned around, supporting herself by pressing her back against the wall. Ginny looked at the stranger for the first time.
Ginny: Malfoy?
Hearing his name, Draco quickly held her head in the palms of his hands, stroking her cheek.
Draco: Yes, hey. It's me.
Ginny suddenly got an angry and hurt expression and pushed Draco off of herself. She stood in the middle of the corridor, holding her head in her hands.
Ginny: This is all your fucking fault.
Ginny face then suddenly went blank and she stared at him. Eventually, Ginny's legs gave in. Had it not been for Draco, again, Ginny would've collided with the hard, stone floor. Draco caught her lifeless body in his arms.
Draco: Ginny? Fucking hell. Ginny?
He then picked her up, bridal style, and panicked. I need to get her somewhere safe, Draco thought to himself. He knew he couldn't wait until Ginny was back conscious to give him the password to open the portrait hole and so he there was only one solution left.
Draco was surprised at how light Ginny was when he picked her up. And so he easily made his way to the dungeons. He came across the portrait of Salazar Slytherin. Draco, luckily for him, didn't stop there though. He, instead, walked a bit further into the dungeons, coming across the portrait od a young Salazar Slytherin. He whispered the password to his private quarters, for the first time thankful for his father's money, and brought ginny in. He stood there, a bit awkwardly, before clumsily opening the door of his bedroom. It had the normal four-post bed in the middle of the room with silver and green drapes hanging down from it. He had a huge window that had silver lace for curtains. There was another set of couches and chairs in front of a fire and a desk with two chairs pulled out. Draco carefully lay Ginny on his bed, making sure she was comfortable. He then went into his closet, searching for a t-shirt. He turned to Ginny. God, I hope she doesn't kill me for this.
He tried to be as gentle as possible as he took off her jumper, covered in puke. He swallowed hard as he uncovered her black bra, accentuating her perky, full breasts. The reality of the situation dawned on him as he began unbuttoning her pants. His heartbeat sped up, and breathing faltered. He shook himself out of it, though. Ginny was hurt, and drunk, and needed someone to take care of her. And so he did. He took off her pants, trying to ignore her knickers. He then put the t-shirt over her head, pushed her arms through the holes, and finally lifted her up a bit to make the t-shirt fully cover her. He took the duvet, covering her completely.
Draco went to sit in one his chairs, staring over at Ginny. He wanted to make sure she wouldn't lose her mind if she were to wake up. Something he, however, could not stop thinking about was Ginny's body. How light she had felt had been a result of how skinny she was. When he had removed her shirt, he could see her collarbones and ribs sticking out. Her thin arms and frail body had shocked him. He'd seen her play quidditch before, so hadn't really taken her for the fragile type. He, however, had been proved wrong. Draco was deep in thought as he tried to recall seeing Ginny's body before, but he couldn't. Even when they weren't wearing their school robes, he always knew her in sweats and hoodies. Even in summertime, he thought. As he had removed her pants, he could see her thin legs and very accentuated pelvic bones. Draco swallowed hard. It was true, 90% of the time Ginny didn't show up in the Great Hall during meals, but to assume she was anorexic? It never once had occurred to him.
Draco's thought, however, got interrupted by the sound of moving and groaning on the other side of the room. He quickly stood up and made his way to the redheaded girl, whom was now sitting upright, though with much difficulty. Ginny groaned and clutched her head.
