A/N: Random one shot, I had to get it out of my head, I may have another idea to add to this, well on with the show.

Remy walked into the Xavier institute, making his way to the kitchen after completing his morning run. Looking at his heart rate monitor, and seeing the results, and then turning his music down. Hanging by a moment by Lifehouse was playing, the lyrics, "falling evening more in love with you" emerged from his earphones as he went to the fridge for a bottle of water. Finding that none were left.

Letting out a deep sigh, he went to the cupboard and took out a clear glass which he ran under the cool tap, allowing the crystal clear water to fill the glass. Brining it to his lips, as he savoured the taste and the cool sensation on his parched throat. Finishing the glass, we rinsed it out, and left it on the drying rack.

He made his way over to the duty Roster in the kitchen, the embedded screen showing that he was Kitchen duty this week, with Bobby as an assistant for cooking and shopping. Remy rolled his eyes, since Bobby's idea of a full kitchen is microwaved ready meals, donuts, and frozen pizza.

He looked at the shopping list on the fridge, noting bottled water was absent, so he corrected that issue. Turning to the coffee station, and turning the coffee machines on, putting the regular one on first, and then the secondary machine. This one used a stronger type of coffee that was more bitter than the ones the others drank. This pot was specifically for Ororo, Logan and Rogue. Some of the younger students had tried to just put on 2 pots of regular coffee, which earned them a swift telling off, and extra Danger Room sessions for a week.

Remy then left to go get a shower, and dressed in something more appropriate. Moments later, Remy walked down the stairs, carrying his long duster in one hand, the keys to the van in the other. He wore a long sleeve shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, halfway up his forearms, some faded jeans, with a series of rips at the knees, and a heavy pair of hiking books.

He went to the Kitchen which had steadily filled up in his absence, with the numerous staff and students all talking to each other, the majority of which were eating cereal.

Scanning the room, he walked over and tapped Bobby on the shoulder, as he lifted the grocery list. "Hey, finish up and let's go" he ordered the younger X-Man, holding the list infront of his face.

They both exited the kitchen, several of the occupants of the school ran up and added some last minute items to the list before they departed.

Due to the number of items needed, they had to make a few different stops, going to the local supermarket, to get the main bulk of the items. Each of them taking a different cart, with the aim to divide and conquer. Or at least thats what Bobby had intended, instead Remy had to tell the junior X-Man to return several items.

"No Bobby, we're not stocking up on Frozen Pizza"

"Bobby put that milk back and get what was written down, you fool!"

"Why can't we just get the big one?"

"Cause I said so!" growled Remy, as he came to the treats section, while snacks are bought, they are often shared collectively, treats however were specific for each person.

Remy's eyes scanned over it, and went through picking up each item, cupcakes for kitty, digestive biscuit for Betsy, Rocky Road for Tabitha, wait a minute, where was Rogues?

Remy looked over the list again, checking it twice. Guess she didn't write it down. He looked at his phone to see if he had a missed message, no message. He paused for a moment, turning around the isle and walking to the desired location. The section in question was confectionery, looking through the rows of chocolate bars, Remy's eyes quickly found his goal. It was a bar of her favourite brand of dark chocolate, he often saw her eating it during movie nights at the mansion. He checked the date, making sure it would last a while.

He met up with Bobby in the beverages aisle next, he looked around and collected the necessary sodas, regular, diet, orange soda, Bobby came from the opposite direction, having collected 2 large cases of bottled water. Remy paused when he saw the brand. That ain't right he took one of the cases from Bobby and walked back down the aisle.

Returning a few moments later with 2 cases, 1 of the same brand as the original, but not as many and a smaller case of a different brand.

"Why did you swap the cases?" asked Bobby, as he watched Gambit put them in the cart. "It's not on the list" he states confidently.

"I know, but Rogue likes this brand, and we never seem to have it" he gestures pointing to the smaller case, marking it off the list.

"So? It's just bottles of water, she can drink the same as everyone else'' Bobby states, his voice a little sarcastic in his tone. "I don't see what the big deal is"

Remy started to push his cart towards the check out, "It ain't a big deal, unless you're making it a big deal" he looks over his shoulder, "It's the same price, the same amount of water, she just prefers this brand" he argues back, "And if you want to talk about big deals, you're the one who argued about getting 1 brand of frozen pizza over the other because, it was your favorite, and we mixed and matched" Remy was exasperated, at this stage.

Bobby sinks into himself, the earlier compromise regarding the pizzas, as he made a note to stay quiet and to apologise later.

Later that day

On account that it was the weekend, and the sun was out, Wolverine had decided to let the kids play outside, feeling that it was one of those, "let kids be kids" kind of days.

Several of the students were out by the pool, others down by the basketball courts, a few others were near the fountain, playing in the lush green grass of the Mansions grounds.

Betsy and Rogue however, were instead, sitting out near on the patio next to the kitchen, the afternoon sun having moved on, leaving the area quite shaded at this time of day. Though the heat still persisted.

Neither had any interest in playing basketball, though several of the other girls ran over when the subject of "Shirts vs Skins" came up. Rogue didn't feel comfortable in the pool in case someone were to touch her, and Betsy, she felt it best to avoid the pool, since the last time she went swimming, it had apparently caused a fight between Jean and Scott.

Betsy left her friend to get a bottle of water to soothe their parched throats, opening the freshly stocked fridge, she reached in an took out two bottles, before noticing a different option, an amused grin on her face, as she change the bottle, and walked out of the kitchen towards the southern goth.

"Here ya go luv" she said, holding the bottle out to Rogue, and amused and mischievous look on her face.

"Oh wow, where did you get this?" she asked, taking the bottle and holding it to her head, savouring the cool feeling against her skin.

"In the fridge…" she starts noticing Rogue look up at her, adding a wiggle of her eyebrows.

"Don't start this Bets" Rogue whined, leaning back on her chair.

"I didn't say anything"

"But you want to, and I know what it is" retorted Rogue, a displeased look on her face.

"Oh what is that"

"Remy did the shopping, and now we have the brand of water I like, so it means something.." Rogue rambled out, letting out a sigh at the end.

"OK yes, but I was leaning more towards Bobby" she joked watching the goths face turn even paler. "Seriously luv, how many other people have bought this?" she asks gesturing to the bottle, "You always ask, and they just by the standard brand"

Rogue looked Betsy in the eyes, "Bets, you've bought it for me"

"Rogue you were there, you told me to get these ones, Remy didn't need a prompt to do it"

"He's just being a good friend Betsy" Rogue responded, "Now, I am going to enjoy this water, and continue reading my book, and ignore your craziness"

Betsy feigned being hurt, as she want back to her own book, looking over her friend, and wondering if that's really all it was or if there was something more to the young Cajuns actions.

A/N: Ok done, phew, now I can enjoy my holiday without this rattling in my head. please feel free to review if you feel it is warranted.
