Day of the Great Council

The gathering nobility watched in awe at the site of the Black Dread flying through the sky in what seemed to be a game with a smaller Dragon, this was Arrax, the dragon of Prince Aegon Targaryen.

Said prince laughing as he urged Arrax to go faster as he chased after his father who was just as excited to play this game with his son, while down below his wife and 4-year-old Daughter Rhaenyra and her Young Dragon Syrax watched in aww.

Aegon was happy that he had a little sister, even in his old life he had always wished he had a younger sibling, oh yes Aegon had unlocked some of his memories, he now knew he was once a Mage called Harry Potter.

Trying to get used to these memories made him a bit of a recluse which was in a way perfect timing as many believed he was mourning the Death of his Grandfather, which was the reason the nobility of the Seven Kingdoms had gathered.

You see with the death of his Grandfather there was now a bit of a succession crisis the two strongest claimants were his Aunt Rhaenys Targaryen the wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon of Driftmark, she was also the child of the King's elder son who was killed years ago in battle.

The other was Aegon's own father Viserys, many believed it to be a close call but Aegon knew his father would be named heir. He rode the largest Dragon in the world and had a son whom the Black Dread had given an egg, he was also a man.

Yes, that would be the winning factor to this situation the lords of Westeros would never let a woman ascend the Throne while a male heir was available, well that and the rumours going around the seven Kingdoms and if what his Uncle Daemon said was true. (Though he suspects that his uncle may have helped spread those rumours)

The primary reason why so many believed this was for reasons beyond his control when the Black Dread gave him an egg when he was born, an egg that the Dragon Keepers were positive was the result of a union between Balerion and the now-dead Dragon Meraxes, that Vhagar helped Balerion hide from the Dragon Keepers.

This is what they believed due to the interactions Arrax had with the two older Dragons, with Balerion he would play and sleep next to them when he got too big to sleep in the keep itself, and he would hunt with Vhagar.

The other reason people believed in the rumours was his fault entirely, not that he meant to cause trouble as he would tell his parents winking at his very amused uncle who couldn't have been prouder if he tried.

Then the young prince was seen constantly in the library studying everything and anything to do with the freehold or Essos in general, then at the age of 6, he demanded to learn how to fight with the sword to his Great Grandfather the King, who agreed seeing the amusement in his wife Alysanne Targaryens eyes that he tasked the Kingsguard Sir Harrold Westerling.

To many of the nobility, this was part of a long plan to ready himself to start a new age of conquests to rival his namesake, it wasn't but the nobility of Westeros were idiots for the most part as far as Aegon could tell it's why he had a fond respect for the Starks, despite being a great house they very rarely appeared in court.

However there was one group that was not particularly fond of Aegon and that was the faith of the Seven, Aegon refused to bend in support of a corrupt religious establishment that worshipped a god or gods that was evil.

This happened a few weeks ago when the young Prince snuck into the city with his Kingsguard protector to walk among the normal people of the city, where he saw a Septon demand money from the poor for the faith.

He revealed himself causing people to gasp and bow the septon himself paled seeing the young Prince with a member of the Kingsguard. Let's just say Aegon had the Septon arrested and when he was brought before his Great Grandfather and the High Septon, who proclaimed he had to repent otherwise he would be condemned by the faith.

Aegon simply said, "Who are you a mere mortal to say how a god would treat me". He went into a passionate argument stating how can a King be a defender of the faith when the kingdom was made up of many religions, and if their god condemned children born out of wedlock as evil and demanded money from the poor and starving then their god was evil and corrupt.

There were a few who believed this would ruin any chance of the boy being Seen as a true candidate for the throne only for a large portion of the people to support him this shuts the nobility up, after all, nobility means nothing if the people you rule over turn against you.

We seem to have gotten off track no matter, back at the preset time Aegon stood with his little sister and their uncle and his wife as the High Septon carried a box towards the King with the results of the vote.

"Brother, what happens if Daddy wins? Aegon heard his little sister ask him looking up at him her purple eyes wide with confusion, he smiled down at her kneeling down to hug her. "It means daddy will become King one day little sister".

Both of them looked towards the throne as the King stood and proclaimed loudly. "It has been determined by all lords Paramount and Lord vassals of the Seven Kingdoms, that Prince Viserys Targaryen shall become Prince of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne!"

Aegon picked up his cheering sister as he made his way towards his parents quickly bowing to the King who nodded before carrying on to his father and mother, who hugged them tightly. "Daddy you are going to be King one day that's so cool" Rhaenyra giggled as her mommy picked her up Viserys was about to respond when Otto Hightower came over to them.

"My Prince, I offer my congratulations on your elevation I have no doubt you will be a great King." He smiled, not noticing Aemma and Aegon look at him with suspicion something Viserys did notice, however, he was the Hand of the King and he thanked him before excusing himself and walking away with his family

Later that night

"There he is Lads, the Prince of Dragonstone, my Brother Prince Viserys Targaryen! Daemon yelled loudly across the ale tent which was greeted with cheers from various Bannermen and knights, Viserys smiled before sitting down with his brother.

"Okay tell me what's wrong with you Vis, this should be a great day for you." Daemon looked at his brother with concern "It's Aemma and Aegon they seemed to be untrusting of Otto Hightower."

If Viserys believed he would have a supportive family member in his brother he must have been drunk as daemon merely snorts. "That's because he's a cunt brother his ambition and lust for the throne are clear"

"Brother he's our grandfather's hand he took over after father died" he begged his brother only to be cut off, "Exactly! Our father is named Hand and then dies weeks later despite being as healthy as a Dragon, you have a son and daughter that have the Targaryen name who are now heirs to the Throne, Otto has a daughter."

Viserys nodded at that bit of information, Alicent Hightower was the same age or maybe a year or two younger than Aegon and had been brought to court about 2 weeks after Aegon, even now Aegon had no interest in the girl who was considered to be a part of His daughter's Household.

"Trust me, brother, Aegon may have shown a complete disinterest in the girl but Otto will suggest his daughter become part of your daughter's household, meaning she will be around her all the time thus she will be around Aegon all the time.

"Daemon, she's just a child Otto would never do something so uncaring to his own child, I shall hear no more of this, he told his brother harshly, "very well Brother, daemon said his eyes full of hurt I merely offered my advice". With that, he walked off.

"Very well Lord Hand, I shall inform my Grandson of the new Household with your daughter being part of it, now leave I wish to rest, Jaehaerys spoke tiredly before turning towards the bed, "yes your Grace sleep well" Otto Hightower spoke with a smile on his face he left the kings temporary chambers making his way to his own.

He didn't notice Daemon Targaryen standing just out of eyesight watching the smug Noble walk away.

Authors note: hey guys so yes Arrax is the name I have chosen for his Dragon as Arrax is considerd the King of the Pantheon, anyway I hope you like it.
