** BONUS! I got a new chapter for you guys. this one literally just popped into my head today while i was working. i had no plans to update this soon for this story. I'm still trying to get caught up on my others. But it would not leave me alone. So here you go. Hope you enjoy. **
"Isaac, I really should apologize to you." I started out saying. Both he and Stiles looked at me confused.
"Apologize? For what?" he asked, unfolding himself. I took a breath and dove right in.
"Because I think I have been handling this all wrong. I've been treating you with kid gloves, thinking you needed coddling with everything you have been through and that is seriously not the case." I told him, he ducked his head, wrapping his arms around his waist. "I know from experience just how strong and resilient you are. You have been through hell and still came out on the other side of things with a compassion and strength that not many would be able to do."
"Strong." He huffed, rolling his eyes.
"Yes, strong. You are stronger then you think, Isaac. Your father was a cruel asshole, and he took out his frustrations and disappointments with his own life on you and that was wrong. But none of that was a reflection of you and who you are."
"Are you sure about that. Because I'm pretty sure that everything that happened proved just how weak I actually am. I didn't even fight back, not once. Not even when I got older, and taller than him. I didn't fight back." He snapped.
"Listen to me." I told him firmly but kept my voice quiet. "No one expects a kid to fight back, especially against their parent or guardian. Not even when they get older. By the time you were able to even think about it you were condition to fear and just take it. You survived, that's what makes you strong. You took all the abuse, and you survived it."
"Yeah, because of you. I'm not sure how much longer I would have survived if you hadn't come for me when you did."
"I will always be there for you, Isaac. Not even just to save you if you need it but because you're my brother, you always have been and you always will be, just like Stiles. No matter where you go or what you do, I will always be here for you. So will mom."
"Okay. I appreciate the sentiment. But you are talking like we have been friends forever. It's barely been two weeks since we even talked to each other for the first time. What's going on?"
"I've known you a lot longer than two weeks, trust me, but I will explain that later. Right now, I need to tell you some stuff and it's going to be really hard to believe and even harder to wrap your head around. but you should know since you are a part of it as well or were."
"Okay…"
"Did you ever wonder how I knew what was going on? How I got in the house how I was able to bend that door in order for you to be heard to be freed?"
"Yes, but I was just thankful to be free. I didn't want to ask." He shrugged and I nodded.
"I get that. But there is a reason I was able to know and do those things. It's because I'm not normal. I'm human but I am also something else, something supernatural."
He blinked, quirking a brow before looking at Stiles.
"Is he for real?" he asked. Stiles snorted.
"Yeah, he's for real. Trust me it took me a minute to wrap my head around it too. But he was able to prove it. Just know that despite what he shows you, he is still the same person. He is still your friend." While Stiles was talking I switched my eyes, thinking this was the easiest way to show him.
"Isaac." I called, getting his attention. He glanced at me then did a double take and scrambled away from me.
"WHAT THE HELL? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EYES?" He shouted. The sound of feet on stairs sounded and then my mom burst into the room.
"Everything okay in here?" she asked. I looked at her then remembered to switch my eyes back.
"No, what's wrong with his eyes?" Isaac asked. I turned back to him, and he shrank back before really looking at me, seeing they were back to normal. "What… the actual hell?" he gasped, his breathing becoming labored.
"Hey, it's okay. I promise, it's all okay." Mom said as she went to sit next to him, cupping his face, forcing him to focus on her. "Just breathe."
He nodded as he followed her breathing pattern. It was something they did when he would wake from a nightmare, and he would start to panic. As much as I wished there were an easier way to do this I also just told him that I wasn't going to treat him with kid gloves. It was a fine line to walk.
"Honey, I know this is going to be a shock to hear, but you need to know. So just listen to what Scott has to say. I'll be right here okay?"
"Yeah, okay. Sorry." He said nodding.
"Don't apologize. Your response is normal for what's going on." She told him, letting go of his face but grabbing his hand, holding tight.
"I'm sorry, I really wish there were a better way to prove at least a little that I'm telling the truth. But I don't think a full shift would have been a better option." I told him.
"Shift? Shift what?" he asked.
So, I started talking and for what really had to be the umpteenth time I retold my story. I told it from beginning to end, even including the part he played in it. Not everything but an overall view of what he was involved in previously. To his credit he didn't freak out as I explained. he listened even if his expression was disbelieving. His eyes kept moving between me, my mother, and Stiles as if asking if it all was true. Mom kept hold of his hand, watching him closely. Stiles was doing his normal leg bounce, nail biting anxious movements as he also kept a watch on him. When I got to the end, the part where I died and came back his mouth dropped open.
"Wait, hold on." he said jumping up. he ran fingers through his curls and took a deep breath. "So, what you are saying is that not only are you a werewolf, but you are also from the future. A future that resulted in a lot of death and destruction and somehow I played a part in all this, as a wolf as well."
"Yes, that's exactly what I am saying." I nodded. he stared at me then looked at everyone else. I could tell he thought we were all out of our minds.
"This is crazy. There is no way this is true, that this is real. This has to be a joke."
"Its not a joke and its very much real." My mother told him calmly. He looked from her to Stiles who nodded to him. he huffed a laugh.
"Prove it. Show me." he said, crossing his arms and looking at me.
"Are you sure you want to see. I mean -."
"You said no more coddling." He reminded me. sighing I nodded and shifted.
Isaac froze, his arms dropping to his sides as he just stared at me. we all waited on bated breath for him to say or do something. but what he did say was not what was expected.
"flossing must be a bitch." He murmured. Stiles choked on a laugh. I shifted back and chuckled. Even mom covered her mouth hiding a smile and giggling. "This is real. You're a werewolf."
"Yes, it is and I am. And yes flossing is a bitch." I told him, honestly. He sat back down slowly not taking his eyes off me.
"You're a werewolf. Holy… you're a freaking werewolf. That's how you found me, that's how you were able to break that door."
"Yes, and honestly if I had known in the previous timeline what you were going through earlier, I would have done it then. The only reason I found out about you was because of Derek."
"Derek, my previous… wait, you said I was a werewolf then. Like you?"
"yes, like me, well like me before I became an alpha."
"I… I don't know what to say to that."
"it's a lot to take in, I know. I actually wanted to wait to tell you any of this, but what happened downstairs kind of changed that plan."
"Why did you want to wait?"
"I wanted to give you time to adjust to everything that has happened. Its only been a week since you have been free, I didn't want to pile on more info then was necessary."
"So, it wasn't because you weren't sure you wanted me to know at all. That you didn't think I could handle this."
'No, absolutely not. I always planned to bring you in on this one way or another. It was always just to give you time to process all that had happened to you first."
"Okay. so, what happens now?"
"Well, now you just have to decide how involved you want to be in this. Being involved in this won't be easy, at all. But I promise to safeguard you as much as I can, same as them. If you choose not to be involved that's fine, I will keep you out of it."
"And what if I want to be involved? What if… I want to be a wolf this time around too?"
Both Stiles and mom looked at me. I sighed.
"I'm going to give you the same choice I am giving Stiles. If you want to be a wolf I won't stop you, I wont try to talk you out of it. Honestly, I would be happy and honored to bite you and have you with me again. But you really need to think about that decision Isaac." I told him earnestly. He chewed on his bottom lip and nodded.
"Becoming a wolf, supernatural, will change your whole life and it wont be a cake walk. Not only will your senses heighten, but so will your emotions and then there are other things to consider, hunters for one. I'm not going to lie to you, a lot of what's going to happen is very dangerous and, unfortunately, you living here puts you in the crosshairs, same as my mom and Stiles. You being a wolf would offer you a bit more protection, but I don't want you to make this decision on a whim or based on what I just told you."
"What are you going to do?" Isaac asked Stiles.
"I'm still thinking about it. Apparently the first time around I survived as a human, but it was touch and go a few times according to Scott. But I'm considering all my options. I haven't leaned one way or another yet." Stiles answered honestly.
"I will say this." I cut in. "if either of you get hurt to the point that the only way to save you is to turn you, I will do it without a second thought."
"And I would expect nothing else." Stiles told me with a grin.
"What do you think about all of this, Melissa?"
"I think that life just got a lot more interesting. But I also plan to support my son and I will do the same for you and Stiles as well." she said. A knock at the door sounded and we all turned as if we could see who it was from up here. "I'll be right back." she said getting up and leaving.
"I don't know what I want to do." Isaac admitted. "On one hand I'm all for being a wolf now. I hate feeling weak and helpless. Being a wolf would have to eliminate that, right?"
"Not necessarily. Like I said, being a wolf comes with its own set of problems. But you were never weak, not for a minute. If you do this do it because you want to, because you feel it's the right decision for you. Don't do this to prove something to someone. You don't have anything to prove."
He nodded.
"Scott." My mom called from downstairs. I groaned getting up.
"Now what?" I sighed heading out the door, both Isaac and Stiles following me downstairs.
Seeing Lydia, Argent and Allison waiting in the living room was the last thing I expected.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"She knows." Lydia said, nodding towards Allison.
"Knows what?" I asked, looking from her to Argent to Allison and back to Argent.
"She found the folder I kept the information you gave me in."
"Does your…" I started, feeling my heart constrict.
"No, just Allison. I explained as much as I could about the supernatural and hunters."
"And you came here for me to explain what all I know about what's going on." I surmised.
"I only know the little you told me so I figured it would be best coming from you since you could answer any questions she may have."
"Right." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. Could nothing ever go as planned?
"Can someone please explain to me what is going on? what I read… what I saw… I don't understand." Allison said, her voice wavering.
"we will explain honey, I promise." Argent assured her.
"Okay, I think we need to push the meeting back to this evening because I'm pretty sure this is going to take a while to explain and there will be a lot of questions."
I pulled out my phone and pulled up the group text thread I created for this meeting. Sending a quick text.
SCOTT- SOMETHINGS COME UP. IS EVERYONE OKAY WITH PUSHING THE MEETING BACK TO LATER THIS EVENING, SAY ABOUT 6 PM?
I heard Stiles', my mom's, Lydia's, and Argent's phones go off.
DEREK- EVERYTHING OKAY?
SCOTT- YEAH, JUST SOMETHING I NEED TO TAKE CARE OF NOW. I WILL EXPLAIN WHEN WE MEET.
SHERIFF- FINE BY ME.
PETER- I SHOULD BE OKAY BY THEN.
DEATON- YES. THAT'S FINE.
DEREK- SEE YOU THEN.
"Actually, Scott, do you think it would be okay if I talk to Derek while you deal with this?" Isaac asked.
"Sure, I can ask him to come by if you want. You guys can talk."
"Thanks." he said.
I pulled up a separate thread, the one I had with just Derek.
"He knows about Derek?" Argent asked.
SCOTT- DEREK, I JUST INFORMED ISAAC OF EVERYTHING. HE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE TIME.
"Yes, I just told him everything, didn't really have a choice." I explained.
"Kind of hard to not be clued in when a naked guy shows up on your doorstep bleeding and asking for Scott's help." Isaac shrugged.
"I'm sorry, what?" Argent asked, confused, and shocked.
"Peter showed up this morning. Said he was shot at by hunters. I'll explain that in a minute."
DEREK- SURE. I'LL STOP BY NOW.
SCOTT- THANK YOU.
"Okay, Derek is on his way. in the meantime." I said turning to Lydia. "Since we have all this time. Did you want to do it now? it will give you time to rest before tonight."
I could see her nerves kick in as she nodded.
"Might as well get it over with. Not looking forward to the pain though." She said.
"You won't feel a thing." I told her. "Mom?"
"I got it." she said, going to the kitchen and pulling out the first aid kit and taking a syringe and vial from it.
"What's that?" Lydia asked.
"Midazolam, a sedative." She answered.
"This will make sure you sleep through it." I assured her.
"Oh, okay. Thank you." Lydia said with a smile.
"Hold it. what's going on? what does she need a sedative for? What are you planning to do?" Allison asked.
"I'm going to bite her." I answered.
"You're turning her into a wolf? Why?" Argent asked.
"I'm not turning her into a wolf. Lydia is already a part of the supernatural. I'm just awakening her powers. She's a banshee. This is gonna sound repetitive because it is. but I'll explain that later. Right now, I want to get the ball rolling before tonight."
I could see he had more questions but held them to ask later.
"Okay, Lydia, mom, lets head to my room. Stiles I'll call you up after its done so you can sit with her. But answer the door when Derek gets here please."
He nodded as Lydia followed me and mom upstairs. Lydia was wringing her hands as she looked around my room taking in everything, including the nightstand holding gauze, medical tape, and antiseptic wipes. I am so happy I cleaned up prior to this. I gripped her shoulders, getting her to look at me.
"We don't have to do this now if you are not ready. There's no time limit on this. We can hold off for as long as you want, or not do it at all if you want to just let it happen naturally."
"No, I want to do it. I think I need to. I've thought a lot about it, and I think that part of me coming into my own and being true to myself was me becoming a banshee, a full one. I'm ready, I'm just nervous."
"Okay, do you know where you want it?" I asked.
"You said it was on my hip before, right? Well, let's just keep it in the same place. Why stray from what worked before." she shrugged. I nodded and guided her to bed.
"Lay down and close your eyes. Mom's going to give you the sedative and once it kicks in you will be asleep. I will bite you. mom is going to bandage you up and then the process will start. Afterwards I'll take you outside so you can test your scream. Okay?"
"Okay." she said, slipping off her shirt, leaving her in a sports bra and her jeans. She laid back and closed her eyes, her hands fisted at her sides. I moved aside letting my mom through. She filled the syringe and wiped the area.
"Okay, you're gonna feel a slight pinch." My mom said as she pushed the needle in. Lydia flinched but other then that stayed still, eyes still closed.
Watching as her body slowly went slack and her breathing started to even out was unsettling. Lydia wasn't someone who stayed still and quiet for long. We waited a few more minutes, hearing the sound of a knock on the door and Stiles opening it, letting Derek in.
"Okay Scott. She's out." mom said moving.
I moved forward and kneeled next to the bed. I let my fangs protrude and my eyes switch as I leaned in. the feeling of sinking my fangs into skin always felt foreign to me, even though I have done this a couple of times already. The give of skin, like butter, and the sudden rush of blood in that area, into my mouth always kind of squeaked me out even though it was necessary. I gave it a few seconds before extracting myself. Standing I nodded to mom before going into the bathroom to quickly brush my teeth and gargle, almost choking as I remembered Isaac's earlier comment about flossing.
When I came back out mom was cleaning her up and had the supplies to bandage her out and ready.
"I'll send Stiles up." I told her.
"Okay, I'll be down in a minute."
I closed the door slightly when I left and could hear Derek and Isaac in his room talking. I thought about sticking my head in but just walked past and back down the stairs. I was shocked to see Cora sitting with everyone in the living room.
"Hey, I didn't know you were coming." I greeted her.
"Yeah, I didn't feel like being left at the loft, again, while Derek ran out. I figured I would come along." She said with a shrug.
"Make sense." I told her before turning to Stiles. "it's done. You can go up."
"Is she okay? I mean did it go okay?" he asked.
"Yes, it went fine. Mom is bandaging her up. She slept through it. Just let me know if something happens. Actually, Cora, if you want to go with him, that would be great. I don't think anything will happen, but you will be able to detect any changes that might not sound right."
"Sure." she agreed and followed Stiles up the stairs. I could hear mom passing them as she headed back down. I waited until she joined us before addressing Argent and Allison.
"Sorry about that. this day has not turned out how I wanted."
"I understand. This kind of threw a wrench in my plans for the day as well." Argent said. Allison stayed stuck to his side, playing with the hem of her shirt as she looked between us. I took a seat on the coffee table in front of her, mom sitting in a chair off to the side.
"Let's talk."
**So, meeting has been pushed back, Isaac has been informed and given a choice. Lydia has been bitten and Allison is about to learn it all. Today is not going how Scott planned. Hope you all enjoyed the chapter. **
