Rumple was getting settled back into his shop while he let Ben and Gabrielle relax a bit since they had been working in his absence. He grew very fond of Gabrielle after a while, seeing her as the daughter he never had and promised to do a better job of looking after her than Zelena when the wicked witch took the poor girl away from Lumiere and Angelique after cursing them to be a candelabra and a Christmas tree topper. However, the peace was short-lived as the pawnshop was visited by a certain pirate father and son along with a frosty new friend of theirs.

"I must apologize, but I'm really rather busy today." Rumple told his guests as he stopped tinkering with the trinket currently in his hands.

"And here I was hoping for a warm hello from the newly reformed Mr. Gold." Killian retorted in a not-very-friendly tone of voice as he walked up to the counter to his sworn enemy.

"This is still a place of business," Rumple countered. "So unless you have something to offer me, I'm afraid I can be of no further help."

"Well, as it turns out, I do have something to offer you... my silence," Killian retorted. "See... I know that that dagger you gave Belle was a fake."

"Huh?" Ben asked as he thought he heard that from the backroom and peeked his head through the curtain while Gabrielle helped dust items in the back.

"Is that right?" Rumple challenged Killian.

"Mm. I've hunted you a long time, my old crocodile, and I know you better than most," Killian explained and defended. "And I know that you would never let anyone have power over you. Not even Belle nor your children."

"And you expect them to believe you without a shred of proof?" Rumple smirked.

"Well, maybe you wouldn't mind if we asked them to summon you with your precious dagger?" Harry spoke up with a cocky smirk.

"Harry, please..." Killian warned his son about interrupting, but he nodded in agreement. "But he's right."

"That's a very dangerous insinuation." Rumple warned the pirate father and son.

"So we have a deal?" Killian prompted.

"I do hope Miss Swan's worth it." Rumple replied calmly.

"Is that a yes?" Harry wondered.

"I believe it could be." Killian nodded at his son as he looked relaxed.

Ben narrowed his eyes curiously, but he waited in the backroom as he went back to help out Gabrielle when they were tasked to clean up over there.

"Good news! He's agreed to help." Killian smiled at Elsa.

Elsa nodded at that and soon approached Rumple, showing him something she had collected from earlier. "This hair is from Marian. Someone cast a freezing curse on her. We need to know who it is." she explained and prompted the mysterious older man.

"Well... you're in luck. Magic can change forms, but never be destroyed," Rumple said as he let the hair drop into the palm of his hand. "We'll simply return it to its natural state." he then added as he waved his other hand and changed the hair back into its original state which seemed to be a pile of white fluff of some kind.

"Snowflakes." Elsa scoffed once she recognized the substance.

"Magic similar to yours, dearie, though not quite the same," Rumple clarified. "Much like a snowflake, each person's magic is unique."

"So... how does that help us?" Harry asked.

"Well, magic seeks out like magic. So if I set this free..." Rumple began to explain before he blew the snowflakes into the air. "It should find its way home, back to the person who cast it." he then added as the snowflakes began to head for the shop door, prompting the others to leave and follow the trail.

"So we have to follow those?" Harry asked.

"Much like Hansel and Gretel following a trail of breadcrumbs," Killian agreed and nodded. "Come on, son, let's shove off."

Harry beamed in excitement about having an adventure like this with his father. Soon, Killian, Harry, and Elsa followed the snowflakes out of the pawnshop. Rumple watched them leave and soon went to check on Ben and Gabrielle, smiled as they made good progress in cleaning up for him, though Ben was trying to hide rather obvious doubts and suspicions about his father which would probably be noticed before anyone would know it.

"Dad, we might get lost," Harry said as they walked into the woods of Storybrooke. "We don't really have a map to follow like the ones you'd get me for my birthday."

"Good point." Killian agreed with his son as he marked trees every so often as they wandered further and further away from the main part of Storybrooke.

"What are you doing?" Elsa eventually asked curiously.

"You heard what Harry said, I'm leaving a trail," Killian explained casually. "We're both more accustomed to outrunning bad weather than following it."

"Snow isn't bad," Elsa defended as they continued down the path then. "And we're following magic."

"Try to outrun that, too, when given the chance." Harry retorted.

Elsa soon chuckled at that.

"What's so funny?" Killian demanded.

"It's just Emma has magic, and you clearly don't want to outrun her." Elsa explained.

"More like the other way around." Killian defended.

"Maybe she feels the same way about pirates as you do about magic." Elsa countered.

"I've worked to change. Though, in fairness, being a pirate is not necessarily a bad thing," Killian stated confidently. "Particularly a charming one like meself."

"And I'm gonna be just like him when I grow up." Harry added as he sounded excited since his father was the most important person in the world to him, even as a teenager.

"I think your self-appreciation and finding a role model in your father are blinding you both to a simple fact... this isn't about you," Elsa replied. "It's about her."

"Is that right?" Killian huffed. "A few short days, and you know Emma so well?"

"Besides, you don't have any children so maybe you don't understand." Harry added.

"Harry..." Killian murmured as that sounded slightly rude.

Elsa felt stung at what Harry said, but tried not to let it bother her. "We're a lot alike. When you have the weight of the world on your shoulders, it can be hard to let people in, to trust them. Even when they want what's best for you." she then answered with much confidence.

Harry glanced over and continued to follow his father for a while with Elsa accompanying them. Elsa looked soft at the mention of not having her own children, though she seemed to have something run across her mind that seemed blurry from memory, she wasn't fully sure what it was.

Flashback

"Why does he have to leave?"

"I'm sorry, Elsa, but you know that he must in order to fulfill his destiny and someday so will the little one if he doesn't inherit your crown."

"I already lost my sister, I can't lose the love of my life either."

"I'm sorry, Elsa, but The Man in the Moon demands it."

End of Flashback

Soon, Elsa shook her head and focused again as the snowflakes soon led her, Harry, and Killian to where they needed to be.

"I'd say we're on the right track." Killian remarked as they got closer and the snowflakes landed in a log filled with frost.

"Yes. There she is," Elsa added as she watched a woman in a flowing and icy white gown wander through the forest. "Look." she then pointed out.

"Get down!" Killian warned Elsa and Harry, putting them all behind a log before he pulled out his phone.

"Wow... The Snow Queen..." Harry whispered as he glanced at the woman from a safe distance.

"Yeah..." Elsa nodded before she saw what Killian was doing. "What is that thing?" she then asked about the phone.

"I don't know. It's a device for...Talking," Killian sighed, doing his best to explain, but wasn't sure how to. "I don't bloody know. I press the 'Emma' button, and she answers usually." he then added before pressing the button and hoping to get an answer.

"Hey, this is Emma. Leave a message." Emma's voicemail answered.

"Why should I carry around this ridiculous thing if you're never there when I use it?" Killian asked in slight annoyance before he left a message for Emma to get to later. "We found the person who froze Marian. Get to the west edge of the woods right away," he said before hanging up until he noticed Elsa was leaning over the log and he pulled her back suddenly. "What the bloody hell are you doing?" he then demanded.

"Sorry. I've never seen someone like me before," Elsa explained. "She doesn't look evil."

"We can't risk it, sometimes looks can be decieving." Harry warned her.

"Harry's right," Killian agreed with his son. "So let's just stay out of sight. I haven't a fondness of icebergs and I'd rather avoid being turned into one." he then added out of caution.

The three continued to hide behind their log and there was still no sign of Emma after what felt like a very long time.

Killian then decided it was time to move. "We've waited long enough. We have to find Emma." he then said before he stood up and walked away only to find himself stuck with ice around his shoes which didn't allow him to move.

"Dad!" Harry cried out and soon the same thing happened to him.

"I'm sorry," The Snow Queen said as she appeared suddenly. "I'm afraid I can't let you leave."

"What?" Killian demanded out of confusion and anger.

"Let go of them now." Elsa ordered bravely.

"Not when you and I have so much catching up to do, my sweet Elsa." The Snow Queen countered.

"Catching up?" Killian asked, feeling even more confused. "What?"

"You guys know each other?" Harry added.

"I've never seen her before." Elsa defended.

"You've simply forgotten." The Snow Queen remarked.

"I wouldn't forget someone like you. Like me." Elsa retorted.

"The magic of the rock trolls. They pull memories," The Snow Queen explained. "They did quite a number on you, I'm afraid... just like they did with someone else very important in your life."

"The rock trolls? Why would they do that to me?" Elsa asked frantically. "And who are you talking about?"

"For the same reason they did it to your sister, Anna," The Snow Queen calmly explained. "Some memories are too painful."

"You know Anna?" Elsa asked. "What happened to her?"

"The same things that happens to every ordinary person. Eventually... they grow to fear us. You wonder... How you ended up trapped in that urn," The Snow Queen stated ominously. "It was your sister. Anna put you there."

"You're lying." Elsa glared.

"Am I? Look at the people in this town," The Snow Queen countered. "They're ready to burn you at the stake."

"Because of what you did," Elsa defended and reminded the older woman. "You hurt one of them."

"You mean that woman... Marian? Well, that was an accident." The Snow Queen defended.

"No, it wasn't. You wanted them to think it was me," Elsa retorted. "To blame me. Why?"

"I was trying to teach you a lesson. Eventually, everyone turns on people like us. Even friends. Even family," The Snow Queen explained. "They're just waiting for a reason." she then added before suddenly growing icicles above Killian and Harry which shook and were ready to drop down and stab them.

"Dad!" Harry yelped.

"Don't panic, son." Killian advised, though he looked very concerned as well since they were rendered from moving.

"What are you doing?!" Elsa asked before she tried to stop the icicles, but her magic seemed to be gone.

"Don't bother," The Snow Queen told Elsa. "I've neutralized your magic."

Killian soon hastily tried to free Harry first, trying to chip at the ice with his hook, but it wasn't working.

"Dad..." Harry frowned in concern.

"You still have a whole life ahead of you, son, I'll get us out of this." Killian promised, though he sounded a bit insecure about that since not even his hook could break this ice.

"When your friend is found, you'll look responsible," The Snow Queen told Elsa as the icicles dangled, looking ready to fall at any point. "Then they'll turn on you and they'll treat you as the monster that they truly see you as, and you'll know that I'm right."

"NO!" Elsa cried out.

Suddenly, there was the sound of barking as Emma arrived with David along with Jay, Dude, Carlos, and Carla. "Hey! Dairy Queen!" she then called out to the Snow Queen who was also the ice cream woman of Storybrooke.

"Emma?" The Snow Queen asked the other blonde woman, sounding surprised.

"Do we know each other?" Emma asked the Snow Queen out of confusion.

"Of course not," The Snow Queen then covered up. "Your reputation precedes you."

"Isn't that the ice cream lady?" Jay wondered.

"You really think that your magic is a match for mine?" The Snow Queen challenged Emma.

Dude barked as he soon tried to lick the ice off of Killian and Harry's shoes, but his tongue got stuck after a while, making him whimper and whine.

"There's only one way to find out." Emma glared at The Snow Queen as she used her magic to force the other woman back.

David soon rushed over to the pirate father and son and began to forcefully bash away the ice around their feet. Harry gasped and flinched as he looked up.

"No." Killian whispered as the sharp icicles began to dislodge.

"HARRY!" Carla cried out in concern.

The Snow Queen soon sat up and commanded the ice to start falling. Emma soon saw the ice falling around David, Killian, Harry, and Dude, then used her magic to move them all out of the way as Dude whined again and seemed hurt as they all landed a few meters away.

"It's okay, they made it." Carlos told Carla.

"Thank goodness." Carla whispered about that.

"You guys okay?" Emma asked out of concern.

"Yeah, we're fine." David replied as he sat up.

"I think the dog might be hurt though." Killian commented.

Carlos soon approached Dude and frowned in concern, seeing a thorn in the dog's paw. "We better get you to Dr. Thatcher," he then told the dog. "He has a way with animals, I think he used to be Dr. Doolittle."

Dude whined in response.

"Where did that ice cream snow lady go?" Jay wondered as he looked around.

"She's gone." Emma realized.

"Scatter and search for clues!" Jay suggested.

"Dude, see if you can pick up a scent." Carlos added to his dog.

Dude barked in response and soon put his nose to the ground to sniff around for The Snow Queen, though wincing a little since his paw hurt. Elsa soon saw some ice formation left behind as everyone continued to take a look around.
