Okay, so here we go, wanted to add in a nice little chapter. Truth is I'm a bit bummed out because my Conceal carry class had to be rescheduled due to the instructor having a family emergency. Me personally I'm doing good, just beat Resident evil 3, downloadig resident evil 7 right now. And I got a date coming up on friday. So I'm doing pretty good.

The sun had gone down and Jem had a little campfire going, Nala was inside playing with Marrow of all people. Blake needless to say was confused. Nala seemed to really like anything dog related. It was weird. Course, Blake also had a feeling it was nice for her to see another faunus besides Blake. She wasn't entirely sure. But it made sense. Right now Alex was looking out the window at Jem and Winter sitting by the campfire.

"Goooooooooddd." He said as he saw the two were spending time together.

"Once he gets Elm off his mind, he'll start to see Winter as a potential mate." He said to himself as his girlfriend looked at him like a weirdo.

"Why are you saying mate? That sounds awfully close to being a furry." She said as Alex groaned.

"Oh come on! You know what I mean." Alex said as he needed to get Jem away from Elm!

While he wasn't sure what kind of guy Elm was into, Jem had a strange way of growing on you like a baldheaded tumor. So he needed to try and get the two away from each other for now! Even if Elm wasn't interested in Jem, the point was he was obviously interested in her! So the only option left was to get him to bond with Winter more to the point where he wouldn't see Elm as an option anymore. Granted, he honestly thought that Jem was only attracted to Elm because of her tomboy looks, so it shouldn't be that hard to try and get him to stop.

"Look, I'm just saying whats wrong with those two possibly dating? Elm seems like a nice girl, and I thought you just wanted to help Jem find a girlfriend? Does it have to be Winter?" His girlfriend was confused.

"I mean, yeah, Elm seems nice, and if those two start something, then more power to them, but doesn't mean I still can't ship those two! I mean hell, you shipped Naruto with Anko even though thats not canon!" He said as she grumbled.

"Ankos hot..." She said as she tried to defend herself.

"Look, all I'm saying is I see a lot of potential here." He said as he looked over at the two.

Jem had made another pot of coffee, Winter didn't know why he was drinking coffee this late at night, but she took a cup anyways.

"Isn't it a little late for caffeine?"

"Nah, trust me, after being infantry and living off of energy drinks and coffee as a fuel source, a single cup of this isn't going to fuel me up like it would in the morning." He said as he took a sip from his mug as he saw the moon.

"Man, now isn't this perfect? Hot coffee, campfire, meat grilling over the fire, and cherry on top, its a full moon, and you can see its reflection in the lake, how can anyone possibly want anything more?" He said as this was the life.

Winter looked down at her mug. Truthfully she had never really had something like this before. She had been on survival missions and training with the Atlesian special forces, but she had never really taken the time to go out and enjoy the wilderness of Remnant. Part of that was due to the massive Grimm issue, but here on Earth, the only thing you had to worry about was occasionally wild animals. And based on the fact Jem brought his rifle and his pistol out with him, she was certain they were okay. Besides, while their aura may have weakened on Earth, it was still enough to ward off animals. Either way, she had nothing to worry about as she took a sip.

"You seem happy." She said as he flipped a steak he was grilling.

"Well, I've learned that the simple things in life really do make you happy, so many people dream of making a ton of money so they can afford an expensive lifestyle, but the more expensive tastes you get, the more money you have to make to fuel those tastes, the more money you have to make means the more work you have to put in, and some people kill themselves with stress." He said as he stopped to take another sip.

"Do I enjoy some expensive things? Of course, but right now I'm at a point where the things I love are either paid for or don't cost a fortune, don't get me wrong, you can never go wrong with making more money, but I don't want to get to the point where my life is defined but what I own." He said as he pulled the steak off of the campfire grill.

"I feel like you just binge listen to podcasts about self improvement." She chuckled as that sounded like something from a podcast.

"I mean I'm not denying I enjoy a good podcast, but you got to admit, this isn't so bad is it?" He asked as she thought about it.

Since she had been out here. She had been treated like a normal person. She was practically on vacation with no grimm or army duties to worry about. She was able to do what she wanted when she wanted. And on top of that, she didn't have to deal with anyone treating her differently because of her family name. Even in the Atlesian army, there were some who would assume she only got her rank because of her name, and she had always hated that. So she had stressed over proving herself in every single way, so the fact that for once she was able to slow down and smell the roses, it was a luxury.

"Well, its nice to be out here and not have to worry about a Grimm attack." She said as Jem was cutting up the sirloin into strips.

"Here, have some." He said as he cut it into slices so they could each get a fair amount.

"Don't mind if I do." She said as despite wanting to eat more than just red meat while she was here, she did enjoy Jem's grilling skills.

"You never been camping before?"

"Well to be fair, I could never see the appeal of it, especially since the survival exercises we had to do left a bad taste in my mouth." She remembered how it usually meant very little sleep, bad food, and smelling like a dumpster.

"Well theres the problem, if I judged camping based on my field exercises, I would think it was stupid too. But think of it like this, you don't have to walk a shit ton of miles, you don't have to carry the weight of others, you don't have to carry gear you don't want to, you can eat what you want, sleep however much you want, and just enjoy nature for what it is." He said as too many people didn't understand that about going out in nature.

"Thats fair, still would have to worry about Grimm though." She said as Jem shrugged.

"Come on, you really think a woman like you could be taken down by a simple grimm?" He joked as she smiled.

"Was that a compliment?" She asked as he nodded.

"Come on, its obvious it was, I may not watch the show as much as I used to, but anyone could tell you're a badass." He said as she just gave a soft smile.

It felt nice to be appreciated.

"Out of curiosity, why did you stop watching the show?" She asked as Jem shrugged.

"It's not that I stopped watching, its just that I stopped being obsessed with it, I still enjoy it, but you won't see me collecting all the merchandise for the show or obsessing over every little detail, don't get me wrong, there are still things I enjoy about it, like the show itself and occasionally fanfiction of it, but you won't see me defining my whole life by it. That's just unhealthy." He clarified as he still read fanfiction.

He read one with some guy going to Remnant and adopting a Bunny Faunus, and it was adorable as fuck.

Winter nodded her head, that actually made a lot of sense.

"Plus I had trouble watching after I saw how they massacred Jaune's hair." And with that Winter remembered Jem had a habit of saying something silly right after something insightful.

"Really?"

"Hey, I'm just saying, they could have made him look like Brad Pitt in troy, but instead they make him look like he's going to star in the revival of Jersey Shore."

"Revival of what?" Winter had no idea what he was talking about.

"Er, on second thought, forget I mentioned that." Jem said as it was best not to speak of its name.

"Well, either way, this is nice." She said as she took another bite of steak.

"Yeah, I mean what more could you possibly want?" He asked as Winter thought it over.

"Well, how about some Chamomile? I'm not as used to caffeine as you, and if I don't drink something to help me sleep, it will take me a bit to fall asleep." Winter said as she could already feel the caffeine from the coffee giving her the jitters.

"Yeah sure, good thing I have a kettle." He said as he had a lot of stuff in his bug out bag.

Why did he have a tea kettle?

Well, the reason was because when he was still in the army, there was a british soldier who was doing a field exercise with them, and he literally had a small portable camp tea kettle he brought with him on every field event for two reasons.

1. It was good luck.

2. Because he was British (1)

(1) I did meet a british soldier who actually did do this. On top of that, it also reminded me of the documentary 'They shall not grow old' where you hear a narration and one of the soldiers is complaining about all the problems at the front in the trenches. And the thing that made me laugh is theres a small bit where they dicuss how difficult it was to make tea in the trenches, and it was just so stereotypically british that it made me laugh.
