Okay guys, so I got some good news. Recently I've started training my cousin and some of my co workers in the gym, as well as some basic grappling. And honestly its fucking awesome. If there was one thing I enjoyed about the army, it was physical training with other soldiers, especially with weights or combatives. It is an amazing thing to see how your body adapts and gets stronger over time. And I highly recommend you all reading this to get into physical training.

As Socrates said

"No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."

Also I decided to come back from my small break early, because I've been doing pretty good. I've been fishing a lot more, played some golf with friends, been spending more time outside the house.

Winter honestly could have gone without ever watching Waco. She wouldn't deny it was well made. But how it ended made her depressed. Needless to say, after they had finished the series, she just decided to just ignore anything else related to it. Luckily, Jem could see she didn't want to talk about it more, so he just let it go. To make it up to her, he had went and got ice cream for both of them.

Scratch that, he ended up getting Nala some ice cream too, because he wasn't going to go out and get ice cream and not get anything for his daughter. Winter went with a vanilla chocolate chip ice cream cone. Jem went with a sugar free cookies and cream substitute, and Nala ended up getting a hot fudge sundae.

Winter couldn't help but feel her eyebrow twitch as she noticed how big Nala's sundae was. Jem was really getting into this whole father/daughter thing. It was like the opening scene in Commando.

Winter shook her head, she was hoping the next time that she watched a movie with Jem, it would be something more romantic themed. She wondered what her friends would think back home.

"So what was the first movie you watched together on a date?"

"Oh we watched a series about how two government organizations really sucked at their job."

She didn't even want to think how that conversation would go. They would probably think she was dating a nutcase.

She thought about that for a second.

And realized that wouldn't be entirely inaccurate.

"Nala, where did your dad go?" Winter asked as she noticed Nala was still eating her sundae.

"Oh he had to go with his family to go pick up his cousin from the airport." Nala said as it was just her and the rest of the Remnant crew back at the house.

"Cousin? Airport?"

"Oh yeah, he said that his cousin is flying in from New York, and sadly its his families turn to house him during his stay." Nala said as Winter took the time to digest that last part.

"Did you just say 'Sadly'?" Winter didn't know why she said that.

"Oh, well, apparently this cousin is a real dumb ass and pisses off everyone else in the family, but he's still family, so you can't just kick him out." Nala said as she didn't know why they just didn't say they were gone for the week.

"He can't be that bad." Winter said as she figured Jem was exagerrating.

Later

"Winter...this is my cousin AJ." Jem said as Winter had a disturbed look on her face.

'I was wrong..." Winter said as she looked at the...thing in front of her.

He was wearing a rainbow set of furry ears on his head. A t shirt that said 'Team Moderna', cargo shorts without a belt so they were sagging, and socks with sandals. Winter tried not to judge on apperances, but it was really hard when someone just didn't have the self respect to dress themselves in clothes that fit. On top of that, he had a sour look on his face. Or at least she thought so, it was hard to see through the mask he was wearing.

"Why aren't they wearing masks?" AJ said as Jem groaned.

"It's not a requirement here anymore AJ." That did not satisfy his cousin.

"I DON'T CARE if its not a requirement, they should still be wearing one!"

"Hey, if you don't like it, you can find another place to stay for the week." Jem said as AJ went silent.

"Fine, I guess these conditions are acceptable." He said sounding slightly miffed.

AJ pushed his way past Nala and into the house. His family took a big sigh as Jem walked away with Nala and Winter.

"Well, he seems...pleasant." Winter was trying not to say he seemed like an ass.

"He used to be a good kid, then he went to college in New York, next thing we know, he comes back to visit for a family reunion and all he does is get pissed off at us for celebrating fourth of july and bitch about how nobody is sensitive to his needs." Jem said as he remembered back when AJ was the kid in high school everyone wanted to be friends with.

Now nobody wanted to be friends with his insufferable ass.

"Whats for dinner?!" AJ yelled as Jem's dad answered back.

"Burgers."

"...Okay, that will do." Aj said as he walked into the basement where they had prepared a bedroom for him.

"Well, at least he's not vegan anymore, that's an improvement." Jem said as last time he visited, he refused to eat any animal products, which was not a good thing when your family was made up out of farmers.

"Hey you never know, maybe he'll turn around."

"I want that too, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, college can really fuck up your ability to distinguish reality from fiction." Jem said as Winter raised an eyebrow.

"Didn't you go to college?"

"Yeah?"

"You don't act like him."

"And everyday I thank god for that."

"I thought you were a pagan."

"Yeah, but I can't just say 'Thank the gods' everytime, its just easier to say 'Thank god'." Jem said as they went into the house.

Aj had already sat down at the table. Winter saw there was a fake furry tail sticking out from behind his jeans. Luckily she just saw that it was clipped onto the back of his belt. She shuddered at a memory she thought she had repressed. After Jem had told her about how Melania was a furry and how she tried to get him to wear a fursuit head after she had tied him up. She had never heard of a furry before hand, and Jem just told her that it was better off she didn't know. She didn't listen, and the next thing she knew she was googling furries on the internet.

And then she saw large furry buttplugs the size of baseballs...

She wished she had listened to Jem, because it took her forever to get back to normal.

Everyone sat down to eat as everyone looked at the toasted hamburger buns, various vegetables on a plate, and the burgers coming in fresh off the grill.

It didn't take long for the Remnant crew to start digging in. AJ looked over at everyone, but in particular, he was staring at Blake, who had put the bow back on her head because she had gotten a warning from Jem before they left for the airport that she was going to need it. She almost felt uncomfortable as she could feel AJ's gaze on her bow as if he KNEW her cat ears were there.

"Mmmm." Jem was too focused on his burger to care.

AJ decided to make his burger before Blake realized he was staring at her.

In reality, she noticed within 10 seconds, and he had been at it for the past three minutes.

Jem's cousin went with some tomato, lettuce, and some onions on his burger. And he took a big bite.

"Mmm, this is actually pretty good." Aj said as he took another bite happily.

"Of course its good, it took a lot of work to get that." Jem's dad said as AJ was confused but took another bite anyways.

"What you mean?" He said with his mouth full.

"Well, thats beef raised on the farm, and all those vegetables we grow ourselves."

AJ froze. He swallowed the last bite of his burger with a sour look on his face and put the burger back down on the plate.

Nobody knew why.

"What the hell is wrong with you people?! Don't you have stores around here?!"

You could hear a pin drop at what he said.

Jem was in a weird place right now, a part of him was laughing, and a part of him was pissed.

Weiss and Winter had the same thought process as 'What did this idiot just say?'

Ruby and Yang couldn't help but wonder why this guy was so mad they raised their own food.

Team JNPR was too dumbfounded to speak, except for Nora who took the oppurtunity to steal the burger from AJ.

Blake suddenly disliked him even more. First she disliked him because he wouldn't stop staring at her, and now she disliked him because he insulted Ma and Pa's cooking. That in itself was bad. But the thing that got to her the most was that food shortages on Menagerie did happen, and you would be lucky to be able to have a good harvest of crops some years.

So now she was pissed because she thought about kids on menagerie who didn't get to eat.

It may have sounded cliche, but it was the truth.

"...Yes we do have stores." Jem said as he couldn't believe Aj had somehow got dumber.

"Well, I'm not eating this!" Aj crossed his arms and looked away like a toddler.

"Why?" Winter asked.

"Because do you know how many germs this could have? I don't want to get sick!" He said as he left the table.

"I'm going to my room now!" He said as decided to go down into the basement.

The table went silent for a bit.

"...Okay, now I understand why you didn't want to house him here." Winter said as he seemed like an asshole. (1)

"Eh don't worry about it, he usually flies here once a year." Jem said as he took a sip of miller high life.

"I don't get why he freaked out over you guys raising your own food, thats just common knowledge."

"Oh don't get me wrong, I think he realizes food comes from farms, but he believes it isn't healthy until its been processed and put in a box." Jem personally thought he was nuts.

"Oh well, it can't get any worse than that right?" Winter said as every single member of Jem's family cringed.

"What?"

"Winter...Trust me, this is a pretty tame first day compared to what he's usually like." Jem said as they still had a few more days of this.

"And you probably just jinxed us."

Lord have mercy

(1) Now some of you may be thinking I'm just making fun of liberals in general. Which yeah, I love making fun of them, but in this case, AJ is based on two people, a guy I knew in high school and my one cousin who grew up in California.

Sure enough, my cousin came out to visit us, we cooked up burgers, and we told him where it came from, and he freaked out for the same reasons AJ did.

Keep in mind, this was before everyone started freaking out about Corona.

Which my thoughts on the virus are simple. I'm just gonna rawdog the air and take my chances. No mask, no vaccine, I'm just living life.

Don't be so afraid of a virus that you forget to live your best life. I will say that til I am blue in the face.

OH, also some of you may have wondered why I didn't make AJ from California. Well, the reason being is because California has officially slightly redeemed itself a little bit in my eyes by that judge saying that the ban on rifles such as the AR15 is unconstitutional. So California sucks a little bit less now.

Well that and lets face it, I make fun of California enough, and New York is almost just as bad, so we'll make fun of them for a bit.

Anyways, hope you have a great day. Keep pushing forward.
