Okay guys, another short chapter, kind of rushed. I've been doing a lot of fishing lately. Just enjoying nature. Also the cousin who I started training in the gym has made significant process, beginner gains are always a thing, but I'm more impressed with how quickly he's gained strength.

I've been so focused on my real life that I just haven't had time to focus on fanfiction. Which isn't a bad thing, its just I like to have some time to my other hobbies.

Been dreaming a lot about Alaska recently. I know I still have some time to wait before I can move. But I am getting so excited.

Anyways, I'm also taking some online courses to help polish up my resume. I don't hate working in the warehouse, but I know for a fact I don't want to do it for the rest of my life. So I'm trying to get certs doing other things so I can be well rounded and hopefully get a better job doing something else

Now the dream is to eventually start a business. But as of right now, I'm glad I have this job, its not the best, but hey it pays my bills and helps me save for future endeavors.

"This is exactly what I needed." Jem said as Winter and him were finally going on their date.

"You're telling me." Winter said as she was holding his arm with both hands as they walked together.

Jem had decided to change the day of their date to an earlier date since AJ was driving him crazy. So he wanted to spend some time out with someone who didn't drive him crazy. It was funny when he thought about it, because if this was a few months ago, he would be saying that Winter had been driving him crazy. It was amazing how much things could change in a short amount of time.

"That being said, I wasn't expecting we would have to bribe everyone else to deal with AJ." She said as AJ demanded to go with Jem and Winter on their date so he could make sure 'Jem was a proper gentleman.'

"Trust me, it was a small price to pay for salvation." Jem was going to ignore the bitter taste in his mouth that came with AJ's dumb ass antics.

Apparently AJ had this idea he was a brave 'white knight' riding in on horseback to save women from his 'evil cousin'. It drove him nuts. It was weird he saw himself as the king of all women when he couldn't even talk to one.

Jem got to the bike rental place of the park and rented two hybrids for him and Winter.

"I was worried you were going to get one of those cheesey two seater bicycles." She said as she got on hers.

"Are you kidding me? I get why people make them, but in my opinion it makes the riders look like two assholes who can't ride a bike on their own." Jem said as he got on his after making sure they had plenty of water for the trip.

"Do you really need your assault pack?" She asked as she noticed the backpack.

"I mean, I figured just in case, we would need extra snacks, water, first aid kit, spare bike tire tubes, and I didn't have a bag that small, so this is what we got." He said as he pointed his thumb back at the pack.

"Okay fair enough, it just looks out of place." She said as they started to pedal.

"Speaking of which, what do you think your cousin is doing now?"

"Let's not think of that and just enjoy the scenery." He said as they took off to enjoy the bike ride.

With AJ and Team RWBY and JNPR

"Ugh, I'm exhausted." AJ said as he was taking heavy breaths like he just ran a 5k.

"...We literally have been walking for five minutes." Ruby said as everyone else was about ten feet ahead of him.

"I'm not used to crazy exercise like this!" He yelled at them as everyone deadpanned.

"We've been walking...on a flat road...with a nice breeze...Nala is skipping ahead of everyone." Ruby pointed out as Nala was happily hopping along like a bunny.

"Loo loo loo! I've got some apples! Loo Loo Loo you got some too!" Nala was happily singing as she skipped while holding an ice cream cone.

They had never seen someone so happy before. Jem bought her an ice cream cone from the vendor before he went off with Winter on their little escapade. Leaving the rest of the Remnant crew to deal with his dumb ass cousin.

"Can someone please pass me my water bottle?" AJ said as he sat down on a nearby bench as everyone groaned.

"AJ, come on we've barely even started yet." Yang said trying to be nice to him.

"I don't care! It's boiling out here!" He said as he snatch his Fiji water from Jaune.

"Man, what a douchebag." Jaune thought as AJ took a large gulp.

Everyone else had their own personal nalgene water bottle or camelbak. But AJ demanded that they bring Fiji water for him because he wasn't going to risk drinking water that didn't come from a brand name.

Jem may have been paranoid about 'Chemicals in tap water that bind to androgen receptors in the body'. But AJ wasn't afraid of normal water out of a fear of disrupting hormonal levels. He was drinking brand name water because he thought it made him better than everyone else.

Little did he know, Ruby didn't actually go out and buy a bunch of Fiji water, she just filled up a bunch of water bottles with the water from Jem's house. It was well water, so it was better than tap. But as far as AJ was concerned, it was all bad.

"Ugh, its so hot!" He said as he fanned his shirt.

Everyone else was fine, it was a nice 70 degrees out with a nice breeze.

But at that moment, everyone was wondering if Jem had paid them enough to deal with AJ for the day, because it was just getting dumber and dumber.

Back with Winter and Jem

"This is a nice view." Winter said as they were sitting by the lake on a blanket having a nice pic nic.

It wasn't a stereotypical one with wine and fancy food like you see in old paintings from the 1800s. Instead of wine, Jem brought out some Samuel Addams for himself, and some seagrams fruity strawberry daiquiri for Winter. Not enough alcohol to get either of them drunk. But enough to just enjoy the feeling. Jem had shown Winter how to do the rucksack flop with their two small day packs they brought up for this occassion.

Both just sat there enjoying the view of the lake.

"Yeah, shame I didn't bring my fishing pole." He said as she looked at him.

"Not the most romantic of activities don't you think?" She joked.

"You would be surprised, it may not be romantic, but it can be a fun date idea."

"It just seems odd, how can anyone have a good time when their hands will smell like fish?" Winter said as Jem chuckled.

"You know the funny thing is, Nala said something similar when I took her fishing the first time." He said as Winter looked at him curious about the story.

"She was a bit hesitant since nobody likes to smell like fish. But the moment she hooked one on, she got all excited as she was reeling it in, it was amazing." He reached into his wallet.

"Here, we even got photo." He said as he handed it to Winter.

She smiled warmly as she looked it over. In the background she saw Jem on a knee with a hand on Nala's right shoulder with a smile on his face. While Nala held a thirteen pound largemouth with both hands and the biggest smile on her face. Both were wearing Bass Pro shops hats, with Jem's being an Emerald Green and Nala's being a bright orange.

"Did you buy the bass pro shops hats just for that occassion?"

"Oh no, when I was in the army, we stopped by a Bass Pro shops one time in uniform, and we got a ton of stuff for free, I have like seven different bass pro shops hats all different colors." It turned out to be a really good deal for him.

"Besides, my dad always used to take us fishing, and I wanted to share that with my kids, only seems fitting since Nala became my daughter." He said as he wondered if she was doing okay right now.

Nala

"Wooowww." Nala was currently doing karate moves underneath a waterfall.

She found a part of the park where there was a cliffside, and going down the middle of the cliffside was a small waterfall. She found out she could walk up behind it without getting wet. And after staring at the water falling down in front of her for a bit, she decided to recreate scenes from the karate kid behind it.

"...Well at least she's having fun." Pyrrha said as everyone couldn't help but think the scene was adorable.

"I remember when Ruby used to do stuff like that, except she used to pretend Zwei was his wolf companion as she went on adventures." Yang said as Ruby threw a pinecone.

"YANG! Don't tell them about that!" She said with her face turning slightly red from embarassment.

"But it was so cute! You even had a little mask, and you would talk in a superhero voice, it was cute!"

"It wasn't cute!" Ruby said as Jaune got thinking.

"Why does that whole situation seem familiar?" He thought to himself as he looked around.

"Wait, guys..." He looked around really quick.

"Yeah?"

"Where's AJ?"
