Okay guys, so usually I try to answer questions in Private messages. But two guest reviwers asked a question so Here we go.
1. To the guy who asked me if I thought Roosterteeth ripped off the good luck semblance idea from the original out of place. Well absolutely not. First off, I may be a bit of a narcisst when it comes to my body, but I don't have such a big ego that I think they SOMEHOW got an idea from a fanfic they might have come across.
To be honest, I think they were going to bring in a guy with a good luck semblance as soon as they introduced Qrow's bad luck semblance. So it was coming either way.
2. To the guy who says this story is what he looks forward to because the current volumes make him depressed. I got you bro.
Jem immediately banished AJ to the basement as he didn't want to see his face for the rest of the day. While his date with Winter went fantastic. AJ's constant complaining on the way home had really ended the day on a sour note. A part of him wondered if he should have just let AJ get arrested. He hated it more than anyone when shitbags got away with crime. But he also didn't want to cause that drama with AJ's parents since he still liked them. But if AJ tried to pull some stupid shit like that he was letting him get arrested.
"Ugh." Jem said he flopped down on the couch in the motorhome. With Winter taking a seat at the little dinner table and Nala going back into the house to play with her Grandma.
"And I thought dealing with fresh recruits was bad, he is something else." Winter said as she put some cups in the microwave on to make some tea.
"I really REALLY try to not be an asshole and tolerate other people, but holy shit he is really trying to make me hate him." Jem decided to crack open a Spotted Cow.
"Oh wow, I haven't seen you drink a beer in awhile." Winter said as Jem had cut down on his drinking immensely in the past few months.
"Yeah, I just get really agitated, he ADMITTED to stalking both of us, and he had the gall to blame me? It's just frustrating." He said as Winter came over with a cup of green tea and sat down next to him.
"What I don't understand is why he felt the need to stalk us in the first place." Winter couldn't figure it out.
"I don't know, I gave up trying to understand him a long time ago. I know its sad to say that because he's family but its the truth."
Winter put her hand over his. While they both agreed the date went well, they weren't so far in their relationship to show heavy amounts of PDA. Winter assumed that holding hands was appropriate for their newfound relationship. It was enough to say 'I'm here for you' but not so much as to say 'Kiss me right now'. Jem relaxed a bit at her soft touch and took a deep breath in.
"If it makes you feel any better, Weiss and I have trouble with our brother." She said as Jem nodded.
"Yeah, but at least now you guys know that he's not a total irredeemable dickhead." Winter giggled slightly as she remembered what Jem was talking about.
While the later volumes of the show that they had found had been traumatic for all of them to say the least. She was glad that Whitley ended up being helpful to their cause. She did wince a bit at the memories that flooded back from the later volumes. Jaune hadn't talked to anyone for a week after he found out that he killed Penny. Jem couldn't blame him. He tried to explain it was Penny's choice but it didn't help. Surprisingly it was Ruby of all people who knocked him out of it.
She had to remind him that they knew what the future held, and they could change it. It didn't help ease the guilt Jaune felt, but he was doing better than he was beforehand. If anything it had kicked him into overdrive when it came to training and tactics. The two teams had taken upon themselves to use the lessons in the later volumes to improve their skills and to also analyze the fighting patterns of their enemies.
Alongside that, they now knew that Emerald was vulnerable to change sides, so it would be wise to try and get her to turn her back on Cinder before things got worse.
"True, but maybe AJ will surprise you." Winter knew it was pointless to try and argue that point, but it was all she could offer.
"I hope you're right, but as of right now, I would have more faith in a discount circumcision than him." She nearly spit out her tea at that.
Jem chuckled a bit as she lightly punched his arm.
"So crude."
"Hey, we got to have balance, I'm fire, you're ice."
"Ugh, that so cliche."
"But accurate."
Nala
"Loo loo loo, I got some apples, loo loo loo, you got some too." Nala sang as she was playing with her toys.
This really was a wonderful life for her. She had a home. A dad. Grandparents. Good food. A fire in the fireplace. And most importantly, she was having her GI joes kick some hippy ass! (1) While most little girls would be playing with barbies or bratz. Nala had a thing for Jem's old gi joes and he man toys.
"CRUSH CRUSH!" Nala was having a GI with a machine kick a cheech and chong doll in the ass.
Why Jem had a Tommy Chong action figure was beyond anyones understanding. But he was the closest thing she had to a hippy doll, so she made due with it.
"This really is the best thing that has ever happened to me." Nala said as she couldn't remember the last time she was this happy.
Even now, her memories of being an orphan on Menagerie seemed like a lifetime ago. Ever since she had gotten here, she had three full meals a day, a nice warm bed to stay in every night, and a family who cared about her. It was everything she had ever wished for when she was working to survive. She didn't even mind the little chores she had to do around the house, because after working a full shift at her age, the chores were childrens play.
She didn't want to think about what she would be doing now if she hadn't come here. Would she still be living paycheck to paycheck praying for a chance to move up in life? She shivered at the thought. She would have never met her new dad, and she wouldn't have had so many memories that she would cherish for the rest of her life.
She took a break from playtime to run downstairs to get a drink of water. Jem didn't like her to have anything with sugar in it after a certain time of day because he was worried about a sugar rush causing her to stay up late. But she didn't mind. She saw Juice as a special occassion drink most of the time when she was on her own, so water worked just fine.
"Hi Grandma!" Nala said as she skipped downstairs.
"Hello my sweet one!" Jem's mom was always happy to see her new granddaughter.
Even if she got one in the least likely way possible.
Adoption wasn't so uncommon. Adopting a completely different race of human being from a completely different planet in a reality that was a tv show in this world? THAT was just plain impossible.
"AJ's downstairs, so you can go ahead and unwrap your tail." She said as Nala smiled.
While it wasn't hard for her to hide her tail, it just felt so good to have it waving freely.
"Hm hm hm." She hummed as she reached into the fridge to get the pitcher of water out.
Only to see that the fridge now had a portal glowing bright blue.
"Uh, Grandma?" Nala asked as she took a few steps back.
"Yeah honey?" Grandma dropped the dish she was cleaning as she saw the blue portal.
"JEM! PA! GET IN HERE!" She called outside as she saw a leg step out of the portal.
"Okay, if our calculations are correct then we should be in the same general area as W-" General Ironwood and Ozpin stepped out of the portal.

Only to be surprised with what they saw.
First, they saw a middle aged woman pointing a shotgun at them.
A middle aged man pointing an M1 Garand at them.
A baldheaded bearded redneck pointing a AR 15 at them.
And the most shocking of all.
A little lion faunus pointing a revolver at them.
Ironwood and Ozpin were stunned.
But only Ironwood had words for this situation.
"What the fuck?"
Only for the tension to be cut as Jem realized what was going on.
"Oh, stand down everyone, they're friendly." Everyone put their guns away.
"You know, its weird, we knew they would come eventually, but we all still pulled our guns out." Ma said as they should have been used to this by now.
"Well to be fair, I don't think anyone thinks right when a blue portal opens up in the fridge." Jem pointed out as everyone nodded in agreement.
"Uhm...excuse me?" Ozpin said getting their attention.
"Oh yeah, welcome to Earth, yada yada yada, Look, we all know why you're here." Jem didn't need a brief on why they on Earth.
"Nala, go play in your room. And you two follow me outside." Jem said as the general and the headmaster were confused.
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to have to explain this to my dumb ass cousin."
(1) I hope at least one of you understands the reference
