Okay guys, so I wanted to get this chapter out. I'm surprised because I'm putting out longer chapters lately. They still feel a bit rushed compared to the shorter chapters, but I'm having fun anyways.

Also I'll be honest, the issue with writing Jem in this circumstance is I don't want to Gary Stu him, because lets face it I don't want him to get along with everyone. But for these next few chapters, you won't see a lot of conflict like you would if Jem was arguing with Harriet.

So please bear with me. I promise you Jem isn't some 'perfect' savior. He's based off my own tendecies to be a sarcastic asshole.

"Ugh, what?" AJ woke up in the back of a van.

"Whats going on?" He asked as he didn't remember getting in the van.

"Ah, you're awake sleepyhead, we had to get you to the airport for your flight, but you wouldn't wake up, so we went ahead and loaded you into the van." Ma said as he looked around.

Sure enough there were his bags, but the last thing he remembered was a blue portal and Ironwood and Ozpin from RWBY standing there.

"Hang on! No! I know what happened! I was looking for my phone and I saw Ozpin and Ironwood!" He said as Ma and Pa looked confused.

"Who?" They asked not knowing what he was talking about.

"Ozpin and Ironwood! From RWBY!" He whined.

"We don't know what you're talking about? Is that some kids show?" Pa asked as AJ got mad.

"ITS NOT A KIDS SHOW!" AJ got mad at them for that.

Anime or even a web series was a very complicated art style that old people like them didn't understand! Little did he know that Ma and Pa knew it would be easy to distract him just by insulting anime. AJ may have been a lot of things, but he was a weeb first and foremost. And weebs were easy to get riled up. Now all they had to do was drop him off at the airport before he started asking more questions.

"Jem had some friends over if thats what you mean, and his friends are into something called cosplay. Its weird." Pa said as it really was the perfect cover.

"Since when does he like anime?" Aj grumbled.

"What do you mean? He's always liked it?" Now it was Pa's turn to be confused for real.

"I never see him wearing anything anime related." Okay now that was just dumb.

"I didn't realize there was an honor system to prove you were a fan." Ma said as AJ started ranting.

"Of course there is! How do you separate the casual fans from the pure anime viewers?" He then took a deep breath as he got ready to go into vivid detail.

"Oh shit, we're doing to regret this." Ma and Pa thought.

It may have distracted him, but now they were about to get a first hand account as to why AJ was still a virgin.

On Menagerie

The people of Menagerie had seen a lot of weird things. They had seen Grimm serpants attacking ships sailing by. They had seen sand storms in the distance coming from the desert of the island. They had seen disaster after disaster devastate their island. If you asked a citizen of Menagerie about all the crazy shit they had seen. They would act like a New Yorker.

"I've seen it all, ain't nothing gonna surprise me."

However, the people of Menagerie had officially seen something they hadn't. There was a human walking around the island. A lone human being trailed by a bunch of small faunus children. It almost looked like baby ducklings following their mother.

"Would it be racist to call this group the rat pack? I mean I know they're mice, but I'm referring to like Sinatra. Shit, I don't know, maybe I shouldn't say that. Actually now that I'm on the topic, I wonder if Remnant has their own version of the boondocks?" Jem sadly couldn't keep his mind from wandering.

Although he did have a good chuckle at the idea of a Faunus Uncle Ruckus. But he shook his head of the thoughts. He needed to focus on the plan at hand. He looked around and noticed that the Belladonnas did still have that big ass mansion from the anime. Jem still couldn't believe that Blake was some kind of menagerie princess. He always figured she didn't have parents and that she grew up on the streets. But he wasn't going to think about his assumptions about Blake before the big parent reveal. He had bigger fish to fry.

"Why do they have so many stairs?" Jem asked as he was getting tired.

He may have loved fitness, but this was a shit ton of stairs! And they were steep! Anyone would admit it sucked ass.

"Seriously? Did they design this so any enemy invaders would be like 'Fuck this, it ain't worth it?" Because that was the vibe he was getting.

He could have sworn on the show that it looked like you would be walking down an incline versus up a incline going to the Belladonna estate. Obviously he was wrong. On top of that he kept getting weird looks every time he passed by someone. But he was just glad they weren't throwing rocks at him. Despite the fact he was certain they weren't goign to lose their shit from seeing a human on their island, he remembered there were still white fang operatives on the island itself, so he was looking around making sure someone wasn't going to stab him.

Again, he was just glad there weren't torches and pitchforks. He laughed a little at the thought. All he could think about was running away from a bunch of angry faunus. It would have been a completely normal fantasy if he wasn't picturing himself as Shrek and the citizens of menagerie as the scared farmers.

"Okay seriously Jem, stop thinking about random bullshit, we have a mission!" Jem thought as he got to the front of the estate.

"Okay kids, just stay quiet and I'll handle this." He said as he took out a piece of paper.

"So why did we come along again?" Bernard asked as Jem just waved him off.

"Don't worry, I got this." He said as he knocked on the door.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

He would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. He was worried that Blake's mom wouldn't be as nice as she was in the show? He thought about how Ghira and Kali were both in the white fang. But he also remembered how Ghira thought it was bullshit how violent they got. But then again he also didn't seem to know they were behind the attack on Beacon in the show. Damn, he really didn't know what to think. All he could hope for was-

Crreeaaaakkkkkk

He saw a feminine hand open the door and two black cat ears pop out.

"Yes? Hello? How can I help you?" Kali asked as she popped her head out.

She didn't seem to have any adverse reaction to him based on being human.

"Ah, yes sorry to bother you, but I'm looking for-" He paused to look down at his paper.

"Kali and Ghira Belladonna?" He asked making it look like he didn't know their names.

Kali tilted her head a bit, but she nodded along.

"Yes, I'm Kali, my husband is in his study, what do you need?" She asked as Jem was going to go for broke.

"Well Maam, I'm a friend of Blakes, and I was wondering if I could talk to you both." He saw Kali's eyes change for a brief moment, but all she showed was surprise.

"Blake?" She asked as she looked over Jem again.

Blake was friends with a human? Something seemed off.

"Look, I'm sorry I had to barge in like this, but you could say that I was passing by the area, and just figured you would want to know about your daughter." He said as Kali thought about it.

"Of course! Come in!" She said as Jem almost blinked in surprise.

"Really? Thats it? I was half expecting a 'I don't believe you' or 'Why would Blake be friends with a human?' She seems pretty reasonable." Jem said as he turned back really quick.

"Do you mind if I bring some of my friends in?" He asked as Kali suddenly noticed all the little faunus children.

Her heart almost seemed to melt at the sight of them.

"Yes of course, come on in." She let a small smile out as she welcome them all in.

The seven faunus children creeped in slowly behind Jem. And Jem was just happy that so far everything was going to plan.

"Would you care for something to drink? Coffee? Tea?" She asked as she led him to their dining room.

"I'm good with whatever, whatever you want I'm good with." Jem said as he was trying to be as polite as possible.

Not because he was a major kiss ass, but because he was paranoid about what Kali or Ghira would do to him if they suspected he was lying.

Technically he wasn't lying. He was a friend of Blakes. But sadly he would have to embellish some details about the way they met. He couldn't help but feel that they may think he was crazy for even suggesting that he had come from an alternate dimension and Blake was currently chilling at his house while he was stuck in this dimension. If they didn't think he was crazy, then they would definitely kick the shit out of him for giving them information about their daughter that could have been false.

He sat down at the table as Kali got some tea.

"If you don't mind, could we wait for Ghira? I'm sure he'll want to hear this." Jem said as she nodded.

"He's already on his way." Kali said as she gave him a cup of tea.

"Thank you Maam." He said as he took a sip.

"Please just call me Kali." She said with a smile.

"Will do." Jem preferred coffee to tea, but again he was trying to be as polite as possible.

Ghira looked like he could whoop somebody's ass if he was pissed. So Jem was not about to risk pissing him off.

"Kali?" Jem turned to look at Ghira.

"HOly SHIT." Jem knew Ghira was big from the show.

But goddam the man in front of him was a goliath. Didn't help that it looked like you could grind cheese on his muscles. Jem wasn't gay, but just like every other dude who lifted, he could appreciate another man who obviously took pride in his appearance. If that wasn't enough, that well groomed and luscious beard was just begging to be petted. Again, he wasn't gay, but he could understand why some people were.

"Uhm, hello sir, my names Jem." He said as he put his hand out for a handshake.

Ghira was a little confused as to why there was a human in his house. But Kali didn't seem to have an issue with him, so he decided to reach back and shake Jem's hand.

"Hoollllyyyyy shhiiitttt." Jem thought as he could have sworn he felt electricity shoot through him when Ghira grasped his hand.

Now, usually people would be like 'That sounds a little gay.' But they forgot the cardinal rule.

Men who worked out naturally wanted to be big. And for smaller guys like Jem, when you were right next to the biggest guy in the gym, it was a lot like being next to Jesus Christ. Jem couldn't help but feel almost in awe of Ghira's massive size.

"Wow, he's got a really strong grip." A part of Jem's brain said as Jem panicked a little.

"NO! Go back to the corner where you belong gay thoughts!" Jem said as the voice laughed.

"Oh come on, you can't deny me forever! I've seen your thoughts on Jason Momoa." The voice said as Jem felt like snarling.

"You know damn well thats a totally normal reaction!" Jem argued back.

"Come on, whats wrong with these thoughts?" The voice almost seemed to pout.

"HOW ABOUT THE FACT THAT I'M SHAKING THE HAND OF BLAKES DAD! AND THE FACT HE COULD SNAP MY NECK LIKE A TWIG?!" Jem yelled at the voice.

"Okay fine, fair enough, I'll leave you alone, but I'll be back." The voice disappeared into the back of his head.

"Nice to meet you." Ghira said as Jem sat back down.

Not even noticing he was looking at his hand like he had been touched by god.

"Anyways, the reason I wanted to have you both here is because I'm a friend of Blakes." Now THAT got Ghira's attention.

"You are? Where is she? Is she okay?" Jem was caught off guard as Ghira was the one spouting off question like a concerned mother hen.

"Woah, calm down, she's completley fine. She's doing more than fine actually. She's a student at Beacon Academy." That threw the two parents for a loop.

"Beacon?" How did Blake get in there.

"Look, I know its a bit odd. But yeah, Blake is currently at Beacon. Here hang on." Jem reached for his back pocket.

He pulled out his wallet as he looked through his little plastic folder of photos. Some people thought it was weird he had physical photos in his wallet, but his phone was dead and he always liked to have a physical photo on him in case he couldn't look through his phone. It just felt more natural to carry them around.

"Here." He pulled out a photo and showed it to the two parents.

Jem saw Ghira cover his mouth with his fist in surprise. Kali's body language shifted to pure joy as they looked at the picture. It was a photo taken by Jem's dad of all of them together. Blake was on one side of Jem with her team, and Team JNPR was on the other side of him. Winter and Nala were of course in the center of the photo with Jem. But the point of the photo was to show that he wasn't just talking out of his ass when he said he knew Blake.

"Thats here with her team RWBY, and the others are their sister team JNPR." Jem said as the two seemed to smile at the fact that Blake had friends.

"We haven't heard from her in so long, we were getting worried." Kali said as they hadn't heard from their daughter ever since the night she left with the rest of the white fang.

"Yeah well, look, between you and me, she doesn't know I'm here." Jem said as the two looked surprised.

"Then why are you here?" Ghira asked as that seemed suspicious.

"Well, lets just say I wasn't expecting to come here." Jem said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Truth is I think Blake was too nervous to come back here, I don't know what happened when you all last saw each other last, but shes always been a bit reserved about her past." Again, it wasn't a lie, but he was also stretching the truth.

The two parents went silent. They knew exactly why. Jem also knew exactly why. But he couldn't let them know that. As far as they knew, Jem was just a random friend here without Blake's knowledge to try and organize a reunion. Jem could only hope Blake wouldn't be pissed at him. If anything he was merely accelerating their reunion by a few volumes. That was a good thing right?

Jem certainly hoped so, because he kind of needed a place to stay.

"Look, I came by to say that she's entered in the Vytal Festival tournament, and I figured you would both like to know." He said as he took another sip of tea.

"Thank you." Kali said as Ghira was still looking at the photo.

"It's just surprising." He said as he looked at Jem.

"Surprising because she has human friends?" Jem asked as the two looked almost nervous.

"Look, its nothing, I know our friendship seems a bit out of place, but I can guarantee you that we're friends." He said as he went in for the kill.

"But, there actually is a favor I need to ask of you." He said as this was where he made the money.

"Oh?" Ghira asked as they both looked at him.

"Well, to be honest, I wasn't expecting to come to Menagerie, and because of that I wasn't adequately prepared." He admitted while rubbing the back of his head.

"In what regards?"

"Well, I don't have a scroll, I have no money, and I got no place to stay." And then he turned to the kids.

"And I met these seven along the way, and they're also having a rough time, and I know this is a lot to ask because we're strangers, but I was hoping we could get a place to stay, its not forever, just for a few days at the most." He said as he hoped that was all it took to find them.

"Well I think-" Ghira looked like he was trying to break the news gently.

"I think we would like that!" Kali said enthusiastically.

"Kali?" He asked in surprise.

"He seems to be nice enough, and can we really turn down these kids?" She pointed out at the little mice faunus.

"No I suppose not." He said as Jem breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you! Usually I wouldn't ask this, but yesterday was a really weird day for me." He said as Frisby spoke up.

"For us!" She said as Jem nodded.

"Right, I meant that." Jem said as he stood up and nodded his head.

"Thank you so much." He said as he looked around.

"That being said, friend of Blakes or not, don't expect a free ride." Ghira said as Jem nodded.

"I knew there was going to be a catch." On the inside he sighed, but he kept a stoic face on the outside.

He wasn't going to piss off the guy who he knew was safe to stay with. So it was best to just kiss ass so he wouldn't be out on the streets.

"I can cook a pretty mean cajun catfish." He suggested as Kali's eyes lit up.

"Hehe, like mother like daughter."
