Okay guys, so as you can see from the last chapter, AJ is alive. Now I know some of you are pissed but I mean come on, he may be a furry but I'm not going to kill the guy for that. But no, I have plans for him just so you wait and see.

Now, I want you all to guess just what Tale AJ is currently living. Based on what you saw Last Chapter and this chapter.

"Wow." Jem was in awe at Winter's place.

Truth be told when she said she had her own place on base. He figured it was going to be some kind of officers quarters in an apartment complex thing. He was not expecting her to actually have on base housing. But then he shook his head. Who was he kidding? If officer ranks in Atlas were anything like the officer ranks in the US Army, then chances are they couldn't allow the officers to live amongst the peasantry.

If the barracks was a trailer park, the officers housing was beverly hills. Thats how it always was.

"Oh dear look at those savages in their barracks and drinking that swill! The nerve!" He always imagined the officers looking at the enlisted men like they were 14th century english peasants.

Didn't help that nearly everyone in the barracks were broke. And that any spare money they got went to buying booze, dip and cigarettes. Wait a fucking minute.

Jem thought about it and then he facepalmed. They were like professional homeless people!

"Well this is my place." Winter said as Jem was still in awe.

"Whats the matter?" He looked like he was looking at a mansion.

"Wow, so this is what its like to be an officer, its so nice!" He said as Winter raised an eyebrow.

"Jem, this is literally the cheapest housing on base." At that, Jem's eyes snapped to her.

"You mean this is the affordable one?!" That he couldn't believe.

Man he was about to be living large!

"Wait, do I technically have permission to live here?" He asked as he was thinking how civilians couldn't live on base unless they were married.

"Don't worry, General Ironwood took care of that for us." She handed Jem a card.

"No way..." He held the card as if it was a golden ticket.

It was an Atlesian military dependant card.

"No way! I'm a dependa!" Jem was about to be living the high life.

Wait a minute...

"How can I be a dependa if we're not married?" He asked as Winter went silent about that.

"Yeah about that, for the remainder of your stay here, as far as you're concerned we're married." She said as Jem smiled.

"Oh wow!" He fake swooned into her arms.

"Now I can get fat!" He said as she glared.

"Don't you dare!" She liked his muscles.

And she would be damned if he let himself go!

"Phooey." He said to himself as it was worth a shot.

"Still though, after so many years of making fun of dependas, its kind of weird being one now. What do I even do?" He asked as he had never been in this situation before.

"I don't know, but as of right now, I say we go to bed, I'm tired, and I would like a foot rub." She said as Jem just picked her up.

"Of course honey." He said as Winter smiled as she kicked off her boots.

It was kind of nice having Jem around. Even if they weren't technically married.

Plus considering that they were now living in a proper home versus his old beat down motorhome, it was nice to officially be in charge. She followed the rules of the motorhome when she was living with Jem, but now it was her turn to play god. A little devil was on her shoulder encouraging her to add some more extraneous rules to the house while the little angel on her shoulder was trying to get her to chill out.

But both of them went away as soon as Jem started to rub her feet.

"Oooohhh, I could get used to this." She said as Jem didn't know how to feel.

He wasn't a foot fetish guy, but hopefully this would help distract her from all the shenanigans he planned on getting himself into.

Also what was it with women and foot rubs? Seriously any woman he had ever met was obsessed with them. At this rate, screw finding the clitoris, just give your lady a foot rub and she won't complain.

Okay that wasn't true, but it could be.

Meanwhile in Vacuo

AJ didn't know what was going on. He was...awake?

The last thing he remembered was that sandstorm hitting him. He could feel the tiny particles cutting into his skin like razor blades. But it didn't matter to him anymore. What was the point? Everything he had ever done? Everything he had ever stood for had all been in vain. He was going to die alone in a barren wasteland. But now he was still alive? How? It shouldn't have been possible. He felt his eyes slowly open as he felt the comforting embrace of a blanket as well as a cool breeze coming in. His vision was blurry at first. He wasn't expecting to ever open his eyes again.

"He's awake!" He heard a woman's voice say as all he could see was bits of orange and brown.

He felt a cool substance make its way to his lips.

"Slowly Sir, we don't know how long you've been in the sand." The woman's voice said as he could slowly feel his vision returning.

He knew he had to drink slowly, but he tried to drink as much as possible. His throat felt cracked from lack of water. And after who knows how long it had been since he had a drink.

Back on Earth he would only drink Soda, but right now the water tasted better than any mountain dew he had ever had. He drank it like it was the last drink he was ever going to get.

"Koff Koff." He felt life returning to his parched vocal cords.

His vision slowly came back as he made out the figure of a woman with brown hair and some weird headband.

"T-Thank you." He said as his vision was getting better and better.

And when it finally cleared he saw her.

A woman, but not just a regular woman.

He saw the ears.

Jackal ears.

No way.

"Its okay, you're safe now, rest. You're going to need your strength."

And as quickly as he had woken up, he soon felt himself drifting off to sleep again.

Ozpin

Ozpin was waiting on Ironwood to arrive back. They had all agreed to have a debriefing over the earth situation. They all knew it was going to be impossible to hide the fact that they could travel to other worlds. The amount of resources that they had expended over the past month had caused the council to ask questions. They had to come clean. But there was still one issue. The council in their infinite wisdom wanted to open communications with a new world. Ironwood knew enough about the history of Remnant as well as a crash course in Earth's history. When you have two opposing societies. Its only natural that there could be some conflict.

And as sad as it was, Jem's 'Elephant dick in little hole' statement was true.

So Ozpin didn't know how they were going to do it. But they would eventually have to bring more people to Remnant to act as ambassadors and vice versa.

Suddenly he saw the portal open up.

"Ah James, welcome ba-" Ozpin was cut off by another man arriving.

He saw an older man show up alongside Ironwood. He was carrying a rifle with a faded camouflage uniform. The top itself was similar to the BDU tops he had seen regular army wear, but the pattern wasn't anything he recognized. If that wasn't enough, it was the mans choice of bottoms that had Ozpin confused.

A pair of short shorts.

"Ozpin, this is Reginald, he is my personal guest from Earth." Now that got Ozpin confused.

Ironwood WILLINGLY brought someone back from Earth? Why?

"Uhm, James? I thought we agreed to take this slow." Ozpin reminded him of the fact that they weren't going to bring people over right away.

Jem and his family were the exception.

"Forgive me Ozpin, but he still falls under the family umbrella for Mister Cotton, and his resume is simply something I'm far too impressed with to not add to Atlas's own training regime." He said as Reggie just smiled.

"Good evening Sir, a pleasure to meet you." He said as he shook the taller man's hands.

Reggie couldn't believe just how tall everyone in this world was. He was not a small man by any measure, but even the blonde woman in the corner towered over him. It was an extraordinary sight.

"If you don't mind me asking, why did you bring him along?" Ozpin asked as Ironwood let off a small smirk.

"Well it just so happens that Reginald here has some experience in counter terrorism that I believe would be valuable for future purposes." Ironwood said as Ozpin suddenly remembered the truths they had learned while on Earth.

"I was in doubt of his skills, but after a very long conversation as well as excellant points, I have brought him along to see if there is anything he can teach our men about combat. If I'm not satisfied with his performance, he will be given a weeks time to explore Atlas, and then will promptly be sent home." Ironwood knew he was taking a risk with this.

But Reggie had been so impressive with his speech that he couldn't help but see if any of his war stories were true.

"Well then in that case, welcome to Remnant." Ozpin said as he looked over the man.

"You're related to Jem?" He asked as Reggie nodded.

"Damn straight, I'm his other Grandfather." He said as Ozpin noticed the accent.

He may not know a lot about earth. But he knew enough to know that Reggie's accent was not native to the US.

"Forgive me, but you don't sound like you're from America."

"Oh no, not me." Reggie chuckled.

"I'm from Rhodesia."
