Okay guys, So I'm back. I've been busy. I've recently been dedicating myself to work, studying as well as buying more things made right here in the USA.

For example, Origin USA's hunt line. I've been getting ready for deer season since this will be my first hunting season in November in Wisconsin. But I wanted to make sure I could get hunting gear made in the USA. And luckily I found it.

NOW it is a little expensive. But at the end of the day, the extra money you pay towards an American piece of hunting clothing goes towards actually paying a living wage for an American worker versus a sweatshop worker in China.

If you want more affordable options but are still made here in America, I highly recommend All American Clothing Co.

"I don't know, that doesn't seem right..." Jem said as they were FINALLY telling him about all the details of the bombing.

"Robyn and Fiona turned themselves in but Joanna and May haven't been found?" He asked as this all seemed fishy.

"Robyn and Fiona claim they have no knowledge of the bombings. And that Joanna and May are innocent." Winter said as Jem looked out the window.

"I don't know...I mean, I don't like Robyn, and Fiona used to be a friend. Even though Robyn was relentless in her attacks on me during the election, I can't see her going full blown Ted Kaczynski." Jem said as the police files of the investigation were spread across his desk.

This was the first he was hearing about all the details. And frankly he was skeptical. He could understand May holding a grudge. He had lost count of how many times she had called him an 'egotistical fascist'. And he often found her annoying and full of herself. But even with that bias, he couldn't see her going through with an act of terrorism. She was a follower and not a leader. There was no way she would do anything without running it by Robyn first. He didn't know Joanna that much but he also knew the happy huntresses were a pretty tight knit group. So the whole thing just rubbed him the wrong way. Regardless of his personal thoughts, it still didn't look good that two of the original group were currently on the run from the law.

"Fiona though...we were friends once. Even though I haven't talked to her in a long time, I don't think she would have the will to go through with it. Can't we just have Robyn use her lie detector semblance?" Jem asked as Winter shook her head.

"Jem, it doesn't work that way. Robyn can only show if another person is lying or telling the truth. When you used that trick on her during the debates, it only worked because YOU were the one telling the truth. Robyn can't just grab her own hand and say something. It only works on other people. On top of that, even if it did. Robyn lost a lot of trust when you showed she was capable of lying. So the people aren't sure what to believe." Jem was silent as he went back to looking out the window.

"Which cell are they in?" He asked as Winter raised a brow.

"Why do you want to know? I just told you, the lie detector semblance won't work if she does it on herself." She said as Jem strapped his HK USP 45 to his side as he put a coat over it.

"I don't need her to use it on herself." He said as he left.

Sometime later in the prison

Robyn and Fiona had grown accustomed to their cell. It hadn't been so bad. Three meals a day. They were cut off from other prisoners. And they got their hour of recreation under tight supervision. But it was still a far cry from their lives six months ago. Robyn had been relieved to hear Jem had survived. Although she didn't care for the way the guards delivered the message.

"Councilman Cotton survived your attack, looks like you your terrorist attack went as well as your campaign.'

"I can't believe I voted for you!"

Robyn flinched at the memories.

That was one thing, she never realized how many of the guards in the prison were her former supporters. But once you were wanted for domestic terrorism and attempted murder. Suddenly nobody wanted to be around you anymore. She still maintained her innocence. But it was worth nothing to these people. She had never felt so hated in her life. And all for something she knew she didn't do. But nobody believed her. Unfortunately, May and Joanna running away had done nothing to help her case. So she had resigned herself to her fate.

"Sir!" She heard a guard call out as Robyn and Fiona looked up.

Only to see the last person they expected to see.

It was Jem!

He looked a lot thinner and he was using a cane. But he was alive.

"Jem!" Fiona said as the guard pointed his weapon at her even though she was in the cell.

"Easy there Officer..." Jem motioned the guard to put down his weapon.

"Sir, with all due respect..." The guard wanted to protest but Jem showed him his own sidearm under his coat.

"If theres any issues, I can handle myself." He said as he looked towards the door.

Fiona and Robyn saw a few people bring in some steel dome plates on a cart. Jem directed them to set them up on the visitors table.

"Let them out." Jem said as the guard looked confused.

"Sir?" He asked not knowing why Jem wanted that.

"Let them out." He said as he walked over and sat down at the table leaning his cane on the end of it as the workers put three plates on the table.

Robyn and Fiona saw the cell open up to them as the guards made sure they were wearing ankle and wrist cuffs.

"I would ask you at least remove the wrist cuffs." Jem says as the guards looked at him like he was crazy.

"Relax, they're not going to try anything with you all here. Where are they gonna run? This prison is floating in the sky, you can't run on air." He said as the guards begrudgingly obeyed.

They still made sure the ankle cuffs were tight and they escorted Robyn and Fiona over to where Jem was sitting.

"Leave us." He said as the guards obeyed and returned to their observation posts.

He lifted the steel domes off of the plates in front of him.

"Please, join me." He said as he revealed his own porterhouse steak, as well as some food for Robyn and Fiona.

Both of them looked skeptical even though the smell was amazing. They couldn't believe Jem was sitting here in front of them like this. He looked so casual. But with his cane, his frail apperance and that all black suit. He almost looked like the grim reaper.

"Relax, if I wanted to poison you, I wouldn't waste it on good food." He said as both of them sat down.

They were nervous. But their hunger was overriding any sense of caution they had. They had been getting three meals a day in this prison. But it was just that. Prison food. It was nothing to write home about, it was just enough to keep you alive. It was one of the first policies Jem enacted into place. He didn't think prison food had to be good. Although he did make exceptions, for those with victimless crimes, the food quality was better. But for those with serious charges, the food was just enough to give you the necessary nutrition you needed. Robyn and Fiona had referred to it as slop. So the prospect of a real meal was appealing to them. Fiona even noticed that Jem even ordered her favorite meal. She was surprised he even remembered that after so long.

"So...is this the part...where you sentence us?" Robyn asked as Jem was in the middle of a bite of steak.

He closed his eyes briefly in annoyance and then he swallowed.

"Jesus, I'm a councilman not a dictator. I would have thought the fact you two are still alive weeks after I woke up would be proof I wasn't going to do anything." He said as he was really annoyed with this whole 'dictator' label he had been labeled with when he advocated for personal freedom.

"And now, I'm not going to sentence you, In fact, I'm not even sure I believe this story I've been told." He said as THAT got their attention.

"Really?" Robyn said as Jem sighed.

"I may not like you Robyn. But Fiona is...was a friend." He said as Fiona's ears went down at that.

"But even I don't believe you would do this. Even if you wanted to kill me. Theres no way you would risk the lives of children. ESPECIALLY my child." He said as Robyn looked down at that.

She could tell he was twisting the knife in over her little stunt when she first met him and thought he was lying about Nala being his daughter. That whole stupid moment had been coming back to haunt her these past six months. If she hadn't have done that, things could have been different. For all she knew, she could have been on the council instead of Jem.

"So I'll ask you to do one thing." He said as he turned to Fiona.

"Fiona, would you kindly take Robyn's hand?" He asked as Fiona did as she was told.

"Robyn, if you would please activate your semblance." He asked as Robyn could see where he was going.

As soon as Jem saw the light flash. He let his questions go.

"Let this go on the record, as we have security cameras with audio tape to back us up. Fiona Thyme, did Robyn Hill order you to bomb any civilians?" Jem asked as Fiona answered.

"No." She said as the light flashed green.

Jem almost let out a sigh of relief. But he wasn't done yet.

"To your knowledge, did Robyn have any knowledge an attack was about to happen?"

"No." Another flash of green.

"Was it Robyn's idea to turn yourself in?" He asked as Fiona almost seemed to relax more.

"Yes."

Another flash of green.

Robyn could almost feel the tension dropping in the room.

"Did Robyn ever have any intentions of causing physical harm to me or my family?" He asked as Fiona just continued to go along with it.

"No." Jem could see that so far things were going well.

"What about May and Joanna?" He asked as Fiona remembered that day.

"They seemed as shocked and horrified as we were." She said as Jem thought it over.

"But how did they react to the news?" He asked as Fiona hesitated.

"Well?" He asked as Fiona sighed.

"May called you a fascist." Again, the light was remaining green.

"I see..." That didn't bode well for them.

"Do you believe she would intentionally cause harm to children?" He asked as she shook her head.

"No, May wouldn't do that. And Joanna would definitely never do that." She said as Jem got ready for his final question.

"But do you believe May would ever try to hurt me?" He asked as Fiona went silent.

"I...I don't know for sure." She said as the light remained green.

Jem sighed.

"I was hoping you could say for sure it wasn't any of you." He said as he took another bite.

"Guards, release them. I pardon them." He said as the guards balked.

But they all witnessed what had just happened. Jem had used Robyn's lie detector sense on Fiona. Robyn couldn't manipulate the truth in anyway, she could only reveal was what was true and false. So hearing all of that had changed the guards mind about the two prisoners in front of them.

Robyn and Fiona couldn't believe it as they felt their ankle cuffs come off. Suddenly they were free to move around at their own will. But they couldn't bring themselves to stand up from their spot at the table.

"Why?" Robyn asked.

"I did nothing but slam you during the debates, why would you come down here to talk to us when you have every right to hate me?" She asked as Jem was too busy with his steak.

He didn't answer her right away. He waited until he swallowed another bite and then wiped his face with a napkin.

"Because honestly? This seems like some shit straight out of a movie." He said as he leaned back.

"And I also don't believe you two would be stupid enough to mark your own symbol on the bombs, why would you risk exposure like that by carving your symbol on a piece that was designed to survive?" He asked as he thought back to what he read about the unabomber.

Sometimes he would make false clues to throw off the FBI, sometimes marking a piece of metal that would survive the blast. But it was all a ruse to throw the FBI off of his trail. Jem refused to believe that Robyn could be a terrorist, and he couldn't help but notice patterns when he looked at all the evidence.

"Can you even pardon us?" Fiona asked as she was scarfing down the food Jem had brought them.

"Probably not, but I'm the guy you allegedly try to kill, whose gonna argue with me if I believe you guys are telling the truth?"

That was a decent point.

"Look, I'll be honest. I don't like you Robyn, I personally think you can lose your cool too easily. When you put your mind to something, you're golden. But when I threw you off your groove during the debate, you went rogue. You completely lost track of the thing that made people support you in the first place. And that was your love for the people. But instead it turned into nothing but mud slinging." He said as Robyn looked down.

"But...I'll admit, that was my intention when I tricked you." He said as it was her turn to be surprised.

"It was a great trick, but it was underhanded, so I'm not completely free from sin. BUT, I can't say I regret it either. You can't let your personal vendettas get the best of you. If you had just campaigned like you had beforehand, I have no doubt you would be on the council right now." Jem would freely admit it.

Robyn and Fiona on the other hand were stunned.

"I mean to be fair, I thought you guys were gonna win anyways." Now that made the two balk.

"Wait, you weren't just being a dick?" Fiona asked as she covered her mouth at the foul language.

Jem however laughed.

"Theres the Fiona I missed." He said as he joked.

"Nope, to be fair, pissing off Jacques was a reward in itself. I was fully prepared to accept that you were going to win. But in all honesty, I just wanted to make sure Jacques would lose." He said as Robyn laughed.

"Well to be fair, you accomplished both with flying colors." She joked as the trio all let out a laugh.

If you had told Jem a week ago he would be sitting here laughing and conversing with his former political rival. He would have laughed. But honestly, maybe he judged her too harshly. Maybe they really all could get along.
