So here I speed along Glass Joe and Dana's relationship because I really don't want to dilly-dally any longer to get to the second half of this story also figured Joe probably is pushing himself now that he got reminded of the guilt he still feels, also I give some hints on how Don Flemenco and Carmen got back together since in A Disturbing Report I revealed they've been discussing starting a family since you don't get a lot of information about the Punch Out characters from the games themselves I've borrowed bits and pieces from Fanfics I liked so I borrowed some bits from The Alphabet of the WVBA by Philosonica but what I haven't borrowed is that story's interpretation of Joe's history where he was an orphan left on the doorstep of the orphanage at two days old, I felt that was a bit too depressing, and I've already made his family history different with talking about his relationship with his little sister Jeanette I imagine he grew up in a typical working class family in Paris it wasn't the worst but sometimes things were tough on the material side and sometimes the parents couldn't provide for their children what they needed emotionally, such is often the case in life.

So after Joe and Dana went their seperate ways, Joe made a quick stop at the grocery store to get some things that weren't the basic necessities as things for entertaining guests...Particurally if those guests are ladies...

The next day he did some spiffing up of his place, the first time she had come over that was strictly bussiness not pleasure, this time Joe was now seriously considering the Mutant Dog as a potential Romantic Partner as she was the first female who wasn't related to him who had treated him with this much kindness and respect! Sure the prospect of being one of the first humans to date a Mutant Animal was frightening but remembering just how lonely he had been feeling as of late he realized he was desperate for companionship!

Just then he heard the doorbell...And he went to get it.

"Bonjour Dana." He said

And Dana couldn't help but let out a giggle "Hey there..." She said as she sashayed in, she could smell that he had just applied air freshener...Though that wasn't too hard, any human could smell that artifical pine scent!

"Thirsty?" Joe asked as he handed her a can of Diet Coke, because yesterday at the Cafe he noticed that's what she ordered for herself to drink so he made sure to get some while grocery shopping even if he was disgusted by what was essentually just carbonated corn syrup artifically sweetned with saccharin! If that's what she liked he would get it for her...

"Thanks..." She said as she popped the tab and realized he must have been noticing her smacking her dry mouth "The cool autumn air tends to dry out my mouth quickly..."She took a big swig.

"So..." She said "...You wanted to talk to me about something?"

And Joe laughed a nervous laugh and turned away, now that she was here he felt his shyness rising up again like a brick wall preventing him from saying what he wanted to say!

"Oh Zut..." He said quietly as he rubbed his hands down his face "...I thought maybe talking to a woman would be easier than talking to my fellow boxers..." (He didn't dare add, that maybe he would feel more at ease talking to a Mutant Animal than to talking to a fellow human because he knew just how racist that would sound 'I feel safer talking to a dumb animal than REAL person!') "...But now I see, it doesn't matter who the other person is, the problem is ME! I feel ashamed because I feel like a burden to everyone I meet!"

"Joe..." Dana said quietly and seriously "...If that's really how you feel about yourself, that is a really big problem. You shouldn't have to feel that way about yourself."

And just that quiet sober way she said it really snapped Joe's attention bringing attention to that this wallowing in self-pity wasn't healthy and he was caausing more problems by doing that rather than talking about his problems!

"And that..." Joe said in that same quiet way "...Is why I'm taking a leap of faith with you...You Dana have done what no one else has been able to do...Like the Doberman that you are you seem to be able to...Cut...Through with logic...Snappy...I'm sorry my English is not helping with this...Why don't you sit on the sofa and I'll get some more refreshments."

So Dana sat on the sofa with her can of Diet Coke, as she watched Joe in the Kitchenette opening the cupboards she quickly noticed something about the their contents "You have a lot of cans of chicken soup." She remarked

"I tend to get colds during the winter..." Joe said "...And as it is November I've stocked up."

He brought to her plate of those pretty seashell shaped cookies called Madeleines which apparently caused Marcel Proust to write about his lost past after having a taste of one.

As Dana nibbled Joe said "I've been thinking about the ways you're different from a human woman...How you don't seem concerned with money or status...I mean I know you stole a bunch of money from your creators, you know the value of money but your interest in me still baffles me."

Hoo boy, Joe seemed to be getting danerously close to the truth, she licked her lips took another swig of Diet Coke and turned her head away from him, placing her hand on her chin looking like she was thinking deeply.

"You're onto something Joe I'll give you that." She said once again trying not to show any sign of nervousness "Why are Mutants like us...Interested in what's on the inside and not net worth? Well I mean like humans we have libidos at least those of us who haven't had the misfortune of being spayed or neutered..."

(Joe cringed at the thought, he fought the urge to cross his legs imagining being castrated)

"...While all of us are attracted to physical beauty..." Dana went on "...Though standards of beauty may vary from species to species...I think, the reason there aren't any Mutant Gold Diggers is because...Well...We are so new, many of us are the first of our kinds we've just been dropped into the human society into a game we haven't been part of."

"Game?" Joe asked

"The mating game." Dana said "The ultimate game of evolution, every species has there own, but humans have taken it to a whole new level and what I've gathered is the angle of human culture that most animals don't have, I remember hearing an anecdote from...Someone..." She didn't want to say she had heard this from one of the scientists who raised her "...About how in the Domincan Republic they seemed to prefer women who were more plump, many of the Dominican women were quite slender and felt very unattractive and contrast the American woman doing Missionary work there who were more heavy, more big boned who felt unattractive in America suddenly found themselves being considered attractive by the Native men."

Hmmm." Joe mused on that, while the W.V.B.A. Was supposed to be quite the inernational spectacle he really hadn't thought about that aspect of different cultures "I see what you mean, that for a new creature who has just come into the world, humans can seem very contradictory about their wants."

All this logical scientific sounding talk seemed to relax him enough that he felt he could open up a little.

"I suppose I'll reveal why I brought that subject up...I presume you know about Don Flemnco's famous relationship with Carmen?"

"I did my reserch about that..." Dana said

"Well," Joe said "The part you wouldn't have seen, at least I hope you wouldn't have been able to see...Is after his first loss to Little Mac, well...Because of what other people were saying about him, Carmen got so depressed she attempted suicide..."

"Oh my God!" Dana exclaimed geuinly shocked

"Tried to throw herself out a window..." Joe sighed "Only saved because he stopped her, there was a reason why Don was so furious with Little Mac but after Mac beat him again...Well we all learned what happened and we worked together to help get them back together again..."

Joe didn't realize that as he had been talking he had reached up and began petting Dana's head like he would an ordinary dog, and Dana was in bliss and he scrathed her behind her ear, it was only when she started thumping her foot that Joe realized what he was doing.

"Oh!" He exclaimed as he quickly pulled his hand away "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to...I mean...I should have asked..."

"Hey..." Dana said "...If I didn't like it, I would have told you to stop."

And once again Joe laughed and smiled

That seemed to be enough to take it to the next level...

So keep in mind she's a reincarnated Humanimal and that more of her old Humanimal self had been awakened by the brain enhancing medicine, she is probably exuding some of the Humanimal 'Charm Magic' that comes from Fae Glamour which explains why Joe is trusting her so quickly
