So originally I was just going to skip to the next day with Joe bringing Dana to the WVBA but then in imagining what they do the night before with imagining what Joe finds Dana doing when he gets home, I decided to dedicate a whole chapter to the night before
When Joe returned to his apartment already he smelled something cooking...Something delicious!
When he opened the door he saw Dana cooking in the kitchenette, she seemed to know the exact moment he would come home as she was in the process of using what little he had at the moment been making supper for them both making bacon and Brie omelets!
Joe was caught off guard by this, though quickly realized he shouldn't be surprised at all and decided he should just relax and be grateful to have a hot meal already prepared so to better prepare for the next day.
As they sat down at the Kitchenette table, Joe thought about how normally he would have the Brie he had been saving by itself with crusty baguette and a glass of the wine he had been saving for rare occasions and he realized he should get some more groceries so Dana could have some more to work with.
Then he took a bite of his omelet...He wasn't expecting Brie and Canadian bacon in an omelet to make such a good combination!
"C'est magnifique!" Joe exclaimed "This is one of the best thing I've had for a while! You may not be an expert in French cooking Dana, but you certainly make up for it by being able to improvise in the kitchen!"
And he could hear Dana's tail wagging like crazy as the Mutant Dog blushed and beamed at his praise!
Joe decided they would finish their meal before he would tell her what would happen tomorrow.
"Dana…" Joe said quietly "...Von Kaiser...He asked to see you as you are now, so I'm bringing you to the WVBA tomorrow."
"If that's what you wish of me…" Dana said "...I will obey…"
And Joe shuddered seeing just how complete the compulsion to obey was, it was like she was incapable of even feeling unhappy with her 'Master's decisions' and this was one of the most frightening ideas he had encountered in a long time!
"So…" Joe said clearing his throat "...Obviously we can't go to your home in Forest to get you a change of clothes, but I think it is a good idea you wash up tonight…"
"Of course…" Dana said bowing her head "...I can start right now if you don't need the bathroom for anything else."
Joe fidgeted a bit and said "I don't need it for anything at the moment, you can wash up I'll wait…"
Joe went to the sofa and pulled an issue of The Ring magazine out of the basket next to the sofa, to make it look like he was occupied with something else, really he was mostly just gazing at the pictures while he listened for what Dana was doing in the bathroom, because he remembered in his childhood all the dogs he knew hated baths! But then a lot of those dogs also liked swimming so maybe it's just soap they didn't like? But Dana went into the bathroom and he could hear her turning on the faucet as this happened she started quietly humming to herself until finally the bathtub was full and she began singing that popular Reggae song from the 80s 'All Night Long'
"Well, my friends, the time has come
To raise the roof and have some fun
Throw away the work to be done…"
At first Joe smiled thinking it was cute that she was one who sang in the bath as he could hear she was scrubbing her fur...But then he realized that she was using his shampoo and he cringed and it wasn't just because she was using a more 'men's shampoo' as opposed to the those preferred by women but he remembered there was a reason pets have their own shampoos and it wasn't that humans didn't want to waste their shampoo on their pets...Wasn't it something about how animal skin doesn't have the same pH as humans? Well Joe hoped she would be OK this one time and he could get her some dog shampoo later.
Also her cheerfulness despite her situation really made him feel all the more rotten! The reason he still couldn't bare to simply share a bed with her because of the situation she was in, ever since her change she spoke and overall had the mannerisms of a child which made the idea of having sexual relations with her seem even more unspeakably evil! Joe knew he was a man, not a boy! He did not want a woman who had the mind of a child!
Dana did not take long in the bath, after a quick scrubbing and rinse she drained the bathtub...Joe winced as he very clearly heard her shake the water out of her fur no doubt drenching his entire bathroom! Really did hammer home that these Mutants still had their instincts despite how intelligent they were…
Kind of find it hilarious imagining Joe's face as he hears Dana shaking her fur kind of reminding him why he had preferred cats.
