Giddiness fills her. Objective completed as smooth as butter and she couldn't help the giggles bubbling in her throat. Toga had managed to get Shiguraki's message to her and get pictures to tease Dabi and Shippo with later. Yet her own mission was to gain some of Kagome's blood, finding interest in the girl herself and wanting to know more. The shock she had given Kagome was priceless, her expressions too cute for Toga to handle. Her smell; Toga shivers at the thought; was powerful but still had that distinct scent of fondness for someone. Curiosity only grows inside her as her eyes dilate slightly. Toga makes it her mission to find out everything about her new friend, even if she goes against orders from Shigaraki. For now, she needed to get to Deku.
Kagome tries to calm her racing heart as Jikoku finds her. Worry quickly replaces his determined expression once he sees the state she was in. "Hey, what happened? What's going on?" he rushes out questions, nearly causing Kagome's head to spin.
"N-nothing, I'm fine," she softly smiles at him yet the fear settles in her heart. Who else made their way into the exams? "We should keep moving though. Find some people to take out and get out of here as fast as possible." Kagome starts walking before Jikoku could react to her sudden mood shift.
"Y-yeah sure," he mutters as he follows close behind her, not believing her in the slightest. Neither paying attention to where they were heading as distant shouting becomes louder. "Sounds like a party," Jikoku chuckles, trying to lighten the mood.
"Sounds like a normal day at the dorms," Kagome grumbles, turning her attention to the chaos above them. Incoherent yells continue to echo before a large explosion deafens the pair. "Katsuki!" Another mood change. Jikoku can't help but watch as her eyes gain a small spark, unsure as to what she was feeling towards the male.
"I can get us up there," he offers with a smirk as he comes out of his daze. It would be the perfect way to arrive in front of the blond. Kagome on his back as he shows off his strength.
"Yes, let's go!" Excitement radiates from her in blinding waves. Jikoku squats down with his back towards her as she rushes to climb on, her legs secure against his waist. A small blush dusts the wolf's cheeks at the plush feeling of her thighs against him. "Jikoku come on-!" He jumps up before she is able to finish her sentence, clearing the height with ease in time to witness a direct shot from Denki to his opponent. A sense of pride fills Kagome for her friend. They were all becoming stronger and more confident in their abilities, she just hoped they felt the same pride for themselves. Yet she couldn't see Katsuki anywhere, just tons of oddly shaped meatballs until two pop back up as Kirishima and Katsuki, attacking the student and taking him out of the exam.
Jikoku lands a bit out of the way of the fight, letting the group of three finish the fight they started. Kagome couldn't take her eyes off them, seeing them fight for the first time since training was thrilling. The fire in Katsuki's eyes was enough to burn through her own veins, not bothering to join in the fight despite Jikoku's best efforts to pull her in. The words 'our chance to pass' barely register as the students go down around her. Jikoku protects her from any attacks while she's dazed, alerting the others that they were there.
Katsuki goes into an immediate rage at the sight of Jikoku with Kagome again. With the other students out and the five of them being the only ones standing, Katsuki marches over to the pair and grabs Jikoku's shirt collar. "Didn't you get the fucking hint last time, bastard?!" Jikoku puts his hands up in defense as he smirks at the blond. Kagome snaps from her daze at the commotion happening in front of her.
"The only hint I got was that she's her own person and can do whatever the hell she wants." The wolf didn't want to do this while Kagome was standing there, but the entertainment was too tempting to resist. "It's not my fault you ran off and left her behind."
"You piece of shit!" Katsuki snaps, his free hand sparking with small explosions. "She doesn't need someone to protect her. I bet she doesn't have a single fucking point on her board because of you being up her ass!"
"Bakubro, come on," Kirishima tries to intervene. "She still has time and there are plenty of people left to take out."
"Exactly!" Denki chimes in. "So no sweat, right?"
"You should listen to you're friends, human," Jikoku jabs at him, the smirk seemingly permanent on his face. "You're lucky she holds-"
"Jikoku I swear if you finish that sentence I'll purify your ass until you can't reincarnate." The focus shifts to her completely as the threat sets in. "I-I mean you guys should get going, cuz you all passed this part of the exam! Congrats! Now I -uh need to find some people to take out, bye!" Kagome rushes out as she takes off. 'There is no way I'm getting out of this later…' she thinks with a sigh as she ignores their shouting. She has to hold back. This isn't her time, this isn't her story. With all signs pointing at it, she refused to acknowledge herself as powerful. Kagome doesn't want the spotlight.
In her rush, she finds herself dodging attacks from behind, unsure of how she ended up like this. In and out of dazes since she got her memories back wasn't a good thing but hopefully, they would ease away with time. Jet-like sounds pull her from her thoughts as hope fills her chest. "Iida!" she shouts with a wave.
"Kagome!" he responds immediately as he makes his way to her, making them the center of the action. "How are you still here? You should have been done by now!"
"Yeah, well," Kagome grunts as she blocks an attack. "Shit happens! We need a plan!"
"I'm all ears for any ideas!" But they didn't have time to think.
"Have you seen any others?"
"No, just you so far." Shit, they could be the last two for all she knew. Kagome bites her lip in frustration.
"Get ready, Iida!" she yells with confidence. "If we're going out, we're going out in style!" Not giving her friend time to respond, Kagome aims her hands to the sky and lets out a beam of pure energy. It was stupid. She was setting herself up for failure once this exam was done. Always having to explain herself when all she wants is peace and to protect the peoples she cares for. Kagome's hands start burning from the amount of energy she was putting out but seeing her remaining classmates rushing towards the battle to help them made the numbing pain worth it. This is how she wants to be a hero. This is what she wants her legacy to be like.
The opposing students went down quickly, class 1-A making their mark as they passed the first part of the exam. Kagome smiles to herself, even if she doesn't make it this time around, the thought of knowing everyone else did was enough. "Kagome," Mina chimes. "We left a few for you, too." Stunned, Kagome can only stare at her. "You deserve this as much as anyone."
"Mina," Kagome shakes her head.
"I'm not taking no for an answer. You're always putting everyone ahead of you." The countdown starts on the speakers. "Kagome, please. We were scared and couldn't tell friend from foe. It was a complete mess! But your beacon showed us the way. You brought us together, so please let yourself pass!" Unable to tell her friend no, Kagome takes the last spot on the list and signals the end of the first test. Mina hugs her tightly before making their way to the rest area with everyone in tow. "I know you don't think you deserve the spotlight, but it looks great on you."
The Ante Room was full of students chatting amongst themselves as they enter, a smile appearing on Kagome's face seeing that everyone had passed.
"Oi! Kagome!" Katsuki's voice rings out. "Took you long enough." Kagome snaps her attention to the blond, a bit timid to talk to him after the scene she ran from not too long ago. But the smile on his face was telling a different story. Mina smirks a bit to herself before pushing Kagome in his direction. Making a quick escape after risking everything for her OTP, Mina will gladly deal with the consequences later.
Stumbling forward, Kagome gasps slightly and corrects herself but Inside she's panicking. "S-sorry, Katsuki," she breathes out. "Just needed some hel-"
"You're really hanging onto that?" his tone changes. His stare hard on her, looking for answers.
"Now, will all hundred of you please watch the screen." Of course it would need to wait for later, letting Kagome reset the ticking time bomb that was her best friend. Focusing on the screen as told, they witness everything around them being destroyed. She takes the moment to sneak away from Katsuki, searching for her group in the large crowd. Her senses zero in on Toga instead of her group. Constantly on high alert around the villain and ready for any move she was to make.
A hand on her shoulder causes her to jump and turn towards whoever it was. Jikoku laughs, amused by her airheadedness. "Chill, it's just me." Kagome places a hand on her chest in hopes to calm her heart as she glares at the demon. "Stop looking at me like I kicked your puppy." Kagome shrugs his hand off her before continuing on her way, ignoring him. "Wait! I'm sorry! That was uncalled for."
"You think?" Kagome snaps at him. "Nearly everything has been uncalled for!" Her nerves were fried at this point, from the villain and now to Jikoku spilling out more information about her. "Maybe there's a reason I do what I do, Jikoku. And why I was only found now." She could see the connections linking behind his eyes, a deep blush gracing his cheeks.
"I was so excited, I didn't think about that... " he starts. "I'm so-" the walls falling around them cut him short of his apology, the mood shifting entirely.
"Save as many lives as you can!" Kagome's expression turns serious, ready to take action for this part of the exam as she rushes to help set up the medic area.
"Anyone with medical knowledge or quirk, over here!" Someone shouts from a clearing. "Equipment" was already there for them to utilize while the others start bringing in the survivors. Kagome gas to keep herself from laughing after a while, finding their acting to be rather dramatic but entertaining to say the least. Finding a rhythm in helping her "patients", Kagome almost doesn't recognize the bright green-eyed child staring up at her. The "child" in front of her was covered in fake blood and makeup, but the tears in his eyes were real.
"What are yo-" Kagome stops herself then shakes her head. She couldn't do anything about it now, so what was the point? First Toga and now Shippo, the Pros were going to figure this out soon enough. Shippo shakes his head and continues his act, slipping a note into Kagome's sleeve before anyone could notice. "Does it hurt anywhere else?" she asks softly. Shippo shakes his head again, finding this hard to handle without running to her for comfort. "It's ok sweetheart, I know this is really scary, but I'm with you all the way." Despite the situation, Kagome meant every word. "Would a hug make it better?" He may have been able to change his hair, to hide his little tail, to shrink to his old adorable size, but he couldn't fool Kagome with how he felt. Shippo nods gently, needing to feel safe again as he hugs onto her tightly.
"I'm sorry, Kagome," he whines softly into her shoulder before pulling away from her so she could continue her exam. A loud explosion catches them off guard as the announcer echoes over the speakers.
"The villains have shown up and are on the move!" Kagome forces herself to ignore it, letting the ones out there handle it as she goes to her next "patient". A hand on her shoulder makes her stop and turn around, making her already sour mood worse. Jikoku didn't have that usual smirk this time, however.
"Why the hell are you over here?"
"Doing my job." Kagome crosses her arms, already not liking where this was going.
"We know you're a healer, 'Gome," he scoffs. "You could be kicking some villain ass right now but you choose to stay to the side."
"Drop it. I already gave you my reasoning. If you want a fight, you'll have to wait." She glares at him. Yet the gears in his head were already turning. Jikoku swoops down and grabs her legs, throwing her over his shoulder and running towards the fighting. "Dammit, Jikoku!" Kagome yells as she drums on his back. "Put me down!" The demon ignores her as he quickens his pace with a chuckle. "Jikoku!"
