Their picnic is set on {a square sized yellow and white checkar board like sheet} with their breakfast material that Monterrey Jack made for them. Chip is now wearing his fedora along with his bomber jacket with Gadget sitting next to each other shoulder to shoulder on one corner of one side of the sheet. Dale is sitting right in front of Chip's positioning on the other side of the sheet next to Monterrey Jack and Zipper.
Gadget cheerfully says to Chip, "Golly, Chip, this was such a wonderful idea.*" "You said it, Gadget luv." Says Monterrey Jack.
Chip nods and says, "Its the most remarkable Rescue Ranger toast for us yet. The precise bust on one of our arch-enemies, Professor Nimnul. Something that we have wanted to have happen to him for a very long time now."
"One year to be exact." Says Dale. Chip then says, "Yeah, you are right, Dale!"
Chip then mused to himself as it begins to come to his attention about how fast the time has gone by since he and Dale met Gadget, Zipper, and Monterrey Jack, and got all together as this Rescue Ranger team. As Chip takes a moment to take a journey in to his train of thought in flashbacking through the many tremendous times that he has had with his friends, clips from one to another are played among highlights from the many episodes from the series in perspective of Chip's psyche.
They basically indicate that as the time went on, the two mice and fly have become very close to Chip and Dale. Just like how he and Dale had become close to each other before they both met the three. So close that they have practically become like a family to each other, especially Gadget. Of course, Chip has had passion for Gadget ever since the first time that he laid eyes on her; although those feelings had developed in Dale at the same time as well. As a result, the two chipmunks had constantly tussled over her throughout the past year.
However, as Chip wells knows, that all changed for Dale [a couple of weeks ago when he met Foxglove]. When that time came, Dale slightly began to have some change of heart among his passionate emotions. Stuff on that day of [that case with Winifred such as him fidgeting each time that Foxglove came near him, how flirtious that the young bat was on him, and at best realized that she was not a heel after all] made the chipmunk slowly realize the happiness that he has discovered in his heart within her.
So even though Dale and Foxglove haven't actually developed a relationship together at this point, Dale is still good friends with her nonetheless. Dale also knows that Foxglove is still kicking around the city somewhere as of now, and thus the time for him to have the chance to tell her how he really feels will come any day now.
So therefore in the meantime, the tables of Chip keeping Dale from getting Gadget have obviously turned; and Dale's jealousy towards it all is completely off the charts. Thus, it is now at this point in time that Chip and Gadget have come this far on how close they have come among their friendship during this entire year as they agreed that amongst this various relaxing time from case work on their morning picnic, that they felt that it would be the perfect time for their flashes of affection for each other to gradually start taking their friendship to the next step.
After thinking fondly of all the great moments that he and his friends had; all the journies, mysteries, victories, and misadventures, with one another, we fade back to the present time out of Chip's psyche. Chip then questions in a tad shock, "Wow! Has it really been a year already?"
Dale answers, "I'd say yes it has been!"
Gadget then adds, "Its crazy to think that it has also been a year since we have gotten together as Rescue Rangers!"
While grabbing the butter to spread onto the pancake cheese flaps^ that he made and the syrup to pour onto them, Monterrey says, "And we have certainly evolved over the months throughout all our cases."
"I'll say we have." Says Chip.
Chip then picks up one of the bagels that Monterrey made, and then asks Dale politely, "Pass the butter please, Dale." "Sure thing, Chip." Dale obeys and then passes the butter on to his best friend.
Just then, three female squirrels, Tammy, Bink, and their mother, Hazel, come walking toward the Rangers' picnic. Tammy is the oldest at seventeen, and Bink is the youngest at seven.
Gadget notices the Chestnuts walking towards the Rangers and states to them, "Look, its the Chestnuts!" She then waves at them and greets the three squirrels, "Hi, Mrs. Chestnut!"
All three of the squirrels waved back. "Look, Mommy," Bink points out, "The Rangers are on a picnic!"
"They certainly are." Says Hazel, "Hello, Rangers!"
Chips greets, "Hi, Mrs. Chestnut! Hi, Tammy! Hi, Bink!" Zipper then questions to them, "What brings you all over here?"
Tammy answers, "Well, we just happened to see you all out on a picnic." Hazel then adds in, "And so I thought that I would allow my two daughters to join along with you all."
Dale digs in on the idea and says, "Sure, we don't mind!" "What's one more?" Chip says.
Chip then asks Gadget, "Say, Gadget, you wouldn't mind if Tammy sits next to us, would you?"
Gadget agrees gladly and says, "Oh no, thats no problem at all!" Gadget then pats the spot on the open spot on the picnic sheet right next to her and Chip and says, "Tammy can sit right here!"
Tammy then hugs Chip briefly, "Thanks, Chipper!"
Chip smiles to himself while at the same time, he is all over Tammy calling him, Chipper~.
Tammy and Bink have grown up a bit since they had first met the Rescue Rangers. Both maturely and physically.
As far as Tammy's crush on Chip that she had on that various day when she and Bink got tangled up in that one case with Fat Cat~, in spite of the gap in her's and Chip's age; it has dwindled at this point in time.
This is especially good news for Chip and Gadget as even then, they did not feel even the least bit smothered on their shines of affection in their hearts for each other in this regard. After all, Gadget encouraged her that she is Tammy, and that was what made her special enough~ to be a great friend to Gadget and the rest of the Rescue Rangers. Same as for Bink.
Hazel then drops Tammy and Bink off to the Rangers' picnic and directs to her two daughters, "Now you two be good, and don't cause any trouble with the Rangers."
"Yes, mother." Tammy and Bink both obey.
Tammy sneaks a quick shake on her head and roll on her eyeballs in dismay as she thinks to herself of how she could possibly cause any trouble with the Rangers at her current age, and then sits on the open spot right next to Chip and Gadget.
Bink sits on the spot between Dale and Monterrey Jack and Zipper.
Monterrey Jack begins to show a bit of concern for Bink as he recalls that time of how much of a big eater that she was when the Rangers babysat for her and Tammy~.
So Monterrey reminds Bink, "Uh hey, Bink, I must remind you of how much of a big gobbler that you were when we babysat you and Tammy~. I just want ye to be mindful of all the food I made for this picnic, especially for the sake of the walnut waterloo cookies+ that I just know that a squirrel like you could just guttle all up in a matter of seconds. None of us have even started eatin' yet."
However, Bink assures to Monty, "Oh don't worry. I assure to you that I have grown out of my big appetite~, and learned my manners in my eating habits. Therefore, I'm not that big of an eater that I was before."
Therefore, Monty gets relieved and is thus glad that everyone in the event is sure to have their fair share of food in the Rangers' celebration picnic. As a result, he and Zipper each start eating their own pancake cheese flaps^.
In response, Tammy says to her sister, "Heh, I'll say you aren't. Lets not forget though, that I am still the older one in the family. So you still have to listen to me." "And just why is that?" Bink confounds.
"Because you are still a child~, and I also still think that you are a bit of a nut job." Tammy says.
Dale laughs in his typical chipmunk laugh from that remark and says, "Nut job! I love the sound of that. Sounds just like the type of job that we chipmunks do for a snack." Dale then continues laughing in that matter, and then Chip bonks Dale's head among that goofy joke.
Then Tammy and Bink start arguing in the sort of typical average sibling behavior with Bink saying, "Hey, I am not!"
"Are too!" "Am not!" "Are too!"
Chip then stops the two squirrels bickering and directs to them, "Hey now hey now, you two, lets not start with each other here; especially as your Mother said to behave. This is a celebration picnic that we are having. Thus, we want to have this time in more peace and less incident as a result."
"Chip is right," Says Tammy as she reaches out for one of the walnut waterloo cookies+, "We best do the Rescue Rangers their favor." Tammy then eats her cookie.
Bink then also reaches for one of the walnut waterlook cookies+ as she asks the Rangers, "Celebration picnic?" She takes a bite on her cookie, swallows it, and then asks, "Celebration for what?"
Gadget answers while she and Chip have their bagels, "Well, it is a one year anniversary thing for us being together as Rescue Rangers for one thing."
Dale adds in after swallowing his pancake cheese flap^, "It is also a celebration toast to the precise arrest on one of our arch-enemies, Professor Nimnul."
Bink asks as she recalls from the TV news report earlier, "Oh you mean that meanie scientist whom that dog bit on, and whom that boy busted with his bebe gun?"
Tammy looks at Bink a bit worrisome as she feels that her sister might have gone a bit too far in appropriate detail to discuss for her age, and thus grits her teeth saying to Bink, "Bink!"
"What?" Bink says to Tammy, "All it looked like was that he left him a bunch of booboos on his face!"
Monterrey Jack then answers to Bink, "Well uh, if you want to put it respectively, Bink, then yes that is him!"
Chip then says to the two squirrels as he grabs another bagel, "Regardless though, if you two must know; aside from Fat Cat, Professor Nimnul is our worst nemesis!"
As Bink then thinks back to the time that the Rangers babysat~, she begins to recall from that familiar name and says, "Oh yeah, I remember Fat Cat. That big grey cat over at that cat food factory."
"Yep," Says Tammy. She swallows her bite of her cookie, and then says to Bink, "And at his casino. You and I almost got canned there~, didn't we, Bink?"
Bink then shivers in such horrid experience from that day and says, "Eegh, yeah!"
Chip says, "Yeah, well Fat Cat of course may still be kicking around out there; but for now, lets all just take this time to enjoy this little party as Nimnul is now behind bars where he belongs."
"Yeah," Says Zipper, "I tell you, Norton is a total wackjob!"
Gadget adds in, "Yep. He is a total psychomaniac scientist that we have been dealing with every now and then throughout this past year. Norton knows a lot about technology. Thus, he has been known for trying to take over this world from his many scientific inventions that he has made during the time. Such scientific inventions that have never seemed to work the way that he wanted them to work."
"Yeah," Says Chip, "And despite his lack of success, he has had no signs of giving up whatsoever. Therefore, he could do anything to keep on moving until he could finally achieve his goal."
Zipper then says, "And I don't know how it happens; but most unfortunately, Nimnul has had his many escapes from jail within all the times that we Rangers have put a stop to his plans."
"Yeah," Says Gadget, "Golly, the last time we dealt with him, ]he invented some device that swapped all of our heads on towards one other's body[." Gadget feels so grossed out just thinking about that time as she continues by saying, "Eegh! I hate to even think back at that experience."
Bink gasps and says, "Oh my! I wonder why he would want someone else's head on another one's body?"
Chip states to Bink, "Hmmm, can't say for sure exactly, Bink. But anyways, yeah ]we all worked our way to getting our heads swapped back on our own rightful bodies, and then Zipper did his part on getting Norton's plan foiled and had him sent to prison once again[; which he has of course at that time, escaped from again somehow."
"Oh wow!" Says Tammy, "Well, me and Bink may not know this Professor Nimnul well like you guys do, unlike how we know of Fat Cat; but it sure sounds like this scientist has done a lot of crazy incriminating things."
Monterrey says, "You said it, Tammy. Crikey, if Professor Nimnul was capable of keepin' all this up, who knows what other possible dangers would lie before us. Sooner or later, Norton could go as far as to have us all blown up at anytime."
Tammy and Bink gasp in awe. Chip, Dale, and Gadget all look at the Aussie mouse with shocked and appalled expressions on their faces in reaction.
Zipper flies towards Monty's face as the fly glares at him upon knowing how much the mouse said is pushing it, and shouts at him, "Monty!"
Monterrey then shakes his head as if to quickly erase that silly predicament away from his mindset. He then says, "Okay, okay, sorry, pally. Apparently, I spoke too soon there."
Chip then states, "But anyway, yeah. Therefore with all that said, we are all out here to enjoy our resulting peace."
Gadget then joyfully says to Chip, "Golly Chip, I really got to hand it to you. Not just you, but to all of you. Our whole journey this past year as a detective team has really been a blast, and it has only gotten us this far. Our renowned job on helping people in all widespread emergencies have really paid off." Gadget bats her eyelids at the chipmunk, and then says to him, "Isn't that right, Chip?"
Chip, in reaction to Gadget's mood among her affection, giggles cutely and then enthuses, "You betcha, Gadget. We've done mighty well on finally getting Professor Nimnul busted for good!"
Tammy corrects Chip, "Uh, well no actually it was that guy who did it, Chipper. Remember?"
"Hmmm," Chip says, "Well true. But if you must know that even still, Tammy, that cop is actually the son of our role model, Donald Drake; whose inspired this Rescue Ranger team to develop from the start."
"Yeah," Gadget adds, "And you know how we mentioned how the last time that we dealt with Nimnul with ]our bodies being swapped, well it was done by Professor Nimnul's modemizer that he invented that one time[."
Dale then says, "As an additional result from that modemizer, humans and animals now are able to communicate with one another."
Zipper adds in, "Which gives that rookie cop, Adam Drake who we saw on TV earlier, the advantage to have us Rangers be recognized by the public."
Tammy and Bink feeling all excited for the Rangers both say their statements at the same time with Tammy saying, "Oh wow, cool!" and Bink saying, "Sounds exciting!"
In such a marvelous manner of excitement for the Rangers' future ahead of them, Gadget says, "}Golly, this will be such a great opportunity for us to culturally enrich ourselves{!"
Chip then says to Tammy as he feels that this is a perfect time for him to make amends to her from the way that he treated her that one day the Rangers babysat for the two squirrels~. Thus, Chip offers to Tammy among his apologetic ways by asking her, "So uh, listen Tammy. With all that exciting news for the Rescue Rangers being said, I don't know if by now that you still have any interest in becoming a new Rescue Ranger on our team~. However, I felt that I should consider this an invitation upon this wonderful opportunity for you as we do have some free spots for anyone who would be interested in joining the Rescue Rangers. In fact, we always have had our group open for new members. Finally, I want to offer this to you as to show you how sorry I am for being so harsh on you on that day we Rangers babysat for you and Bink~."
Tammy feels so delighted in noting how good a heart Chip has for him to apologize to her for his past transgressions. Yet, Tammy at this point has made her decision to go a different path.
Therefore, Tammy says, "Oh Chipper! First of all, that is very sweet of you to clear the error to me. I'm all over it though, and so its all cool now. But that does mean so much to me that you did that, it really does. Second, its also sweet that you still have thought of me like that in regards to the desire to confirm my decision of wanting to join up with you Rangers~; I really appreciate that much! However as of now, I have actually made the decision to go a different path."
Chip fairly accepts her decision, and then says, "Ah okay, thats cool. So then what is it that you are wanting to go for on this different path?"
Tammy happily answers, "I want to be a nurse."
"Oh really?" Monterrey Jack says, "Well, I sorta has this idea that you wanted to be a cook of some sort."
Chip adds in, "Yeah, if I remember correctly, you did mention on that day that we babysat you and Bink~; that you had learned about all of our favorite recipes, and could cook some wonderful meals."
"Well true," Tammy confirms, "Don't get me wrong though, I still have much interest in doing that as well; but just as a hobby. You know what I mean? But I'm more interested in the medical field when it comes to helping out individuals."
Chip feeling all happy for Tammy, compliments to her, "Oh nice! Well good for you, Tammy! I'm proud of you!" Gadget then tells Tammy as she beams a smile among learning about where her current path of goal is, "Well we wish you much luck with that!"
"Thanks, guys!" Tammy joyously enthuses, "I'm also looking into starting medical specialized training soon!"
Bink then points out to the Rangers, "And you know what, Rangers, if I'm lucky, I will become half of what Tammy will be. Maybe a counselor or something like that."
"Yeah," Tammy responds, "Well only time will tell, Bink. Only time will tell."
After another ten to fifteen minutes passed, the Rangers finished their picnic and the Chestnuts all went back home.
Gadget now all eager to show the Rangers this brand new invention, or more say inventions that she brought up earlier right before the Rangers considered having their outside picnic, says to the gang, "Hey guys! Come on over with me back to my workshop! I now feel ready to begin this new mechanical project that I mentioned earlier to you guys. This one is going to be so supernatural, and once it is complete, or best to say THEY are complete perhaps I said it the wrong way *chuckles* you all will be SO amazed! So come on, lets go!"
With Chip now being more closer to Gadget than ever before, he also now feels just as eager as Gadget is upon knowing exactly what Gadget has planned in store for these upcoming mechanical designs. Thus, Chip says in much excitement, "Oh yeah sure, Gadget!" He they direct to the other three, "Come on guys, lets go!"
Chip and Gadget then begin walking their way to Gadget's workship, and then Dale follows along behind them.
As for Monterrey Jack and Zipper, before they consider following behind the three; the two look at each other in a bit of concern about what Gadget's inventions are going to turn out to be, and then Monterrey turns his head back to Gadget's area of path up front and grabs her attention from the back, "Uh, Gadget luv, you sure you know what you are going to be doing with these new inventions? I mean could you at least tell us what they are since you seem so eager to create these new mechanics?"
"Oh sure I'm sure, Monterrey," Assures Gadget, "Like I said, this project is a biggie! It is a very coaxing idea that after all that has happened so far today, that I thought up very quickly of making some new inventions as inspired by Norton Nimnul's shrink ray gun that he once created. You'll see what I mean, come on!"
Monterrey and Zipper then look at each other once again and both just shrug, and then just start making their way inside Gadget's workshop with the other Rangers.
Stay tuned next chapter where Fat Cat and Professor Nimnul agree to join forces together after he, Bubbles, and Lahwhinie make way among backfiring Adam's bust on Professor Nimnul while the teenage cop was on his way to sending the mad scientist to jail.
