Meanwhile, Plato makes his way towards the area near the base of the tree, and then sits on spot as he looks up at Zipper from his position.
Upon knowing that the Rangers are actually expecting a couple of certain guests to arrive as soon as possible, Zipper shouted on down to the canine, "Plato! Is that you?"
With much enthusiasm, Plato chuckles and greets the insect up above, "Hello again, Zipper! I see you Rescue Rangers are expecting someone, eh? Or should I say, expecting the return of an old friend?"
"Oh are we ever?" Zipper replies, "Let me call the others, and then we will head on down!" The insect then excitingly flies and buzzes his way inside the treehouse.
In the meanwhile, Plato sat there outside wagging his tail and pants in joy as he shall be glad beyond belief to see his old friends again.
Inside the treehouse, Zipper calls out to the other Rangers, "Hey guys! Come out and look who is here!"
Chip in response smiles a feeling of excitement and asks, "Is it Plato?"
Zipper nods swiftly and says, "He just arrived and is sitting right outside on the ground nearby the base area of the tree waiting for us!"
A shiver of excitement went through the Rangers, especially Chip and Dale, as they thrill to reunite with Plato again after all these months.
Chip then directs to the Rangers, "Come on, guys! Lets head on down!"
As they all started running and descending on down outside, Dale pipes up, "Oh boy oh boy oh boy!" Gadget then says, "Oooooh golly, this is the moment I have been waiting for!" "Too right, Gadget luv!" Says Monterrey Jack, "Bonza Loca!"
Everyone's level of pure joy was beyond belief.
We then cut back outside the tree as Plato and the Rangers prepare to reunite.
As the Rangers all ran about over towards Plato, they all shouted out as one, "PLATO!". "RESCUE RANGERS!" Plato shouted out next.
Plato bowed his head down towards the Rangers' level; whereas, the rodents then embraced around the bulldog's muzzle among this cherishing moment of reunion.
While embracing, Monterrey says, "If it isn't the return of the thrifty role model! So good to see you, ol' pally!"
The Rangers and Plato then pulled back from the embrace and gazed into eye contact.
"And its a thrill to see you fellow Rescue Rangers again too!" Says Plato.
Chip then tells Plato, "We're also very glad to see you back in on the job, Plato!". "Oh Golly!" Shouts Gadget, "More than you know!"
"Ah yes!" Plato says, "So I'm guessing you Rangers saw what happened on television, did you not?"
Chip answers, "Oh you know we did, Plato! Zipper told us a little bit about it before we saw everything on the special news report!" Zipper nods the detective's assent.
"Wowie zowie!" Dale says among his pure excitement, "We could not believe our eyes on what we saw!"
Plato perked up his ears and began wagging his tail as a charming expression grows on his face while Gadget adds in, "We saw and learned about your old sidekick; one of our old master role model's son, Donald Drake Jr."
The canine chuckles a bit in response and replies, "Yeah," He then points out to Gadget, "But please with all do respect, Gadget, the boy prefers to go by his middle name, Adam, in case you hadn't noticed." "So I see now." Says Gadget.
"But yeah," Zipper says, "We saw some recaps on TV from some of that action back over at the bank, as well as the supposed stunt that I did on tripping over those Stegosaurus bots."
"We also saw how you all made the official bust on Professor Nimnul!" Says Chip.
Dale playfully laughs in his chipmunk fashion and then says, "Golly, and how you made the Crime Bite on Norton."
Monterrey Jack adds in, "And how the young pet sidekick of yours shot him down with those non-lethal bullets. Horrific, but yet very priceless to see."
"Yeah," Dale says, "Definitely nothing like [those bullets that we saw fly by when we helped you and Detective Drake out last year on busting Percy at that lumbar warehouse.]"
"Oh not at all indeed, lad" Plato replies, "But mind you all, as I pointed out to Zipper back over at the bank after that happened, I had informed Adam before we started on the job to be careful with that gun."
"Right. Of course." Says Chip.
"But anyways, too rah loo!" Monterrey Jack exclaims, "Congrats to you both!". Chip adds in, "For doing your jobs among you all's bravery and selfless act."
Gadget then turns to Zipper and says to the insect, "And to you too, Zipper, for doing your part among your talents on helping them out!" Zipper pleadingly buzzes with a warm smile in response.
Plato takes a bow in response, and then says to the Rangers, "Much thanks, Rescue Rangers. I could not be more grateful for your words. I have to admit that as we observed those humongous bots coming up from the ground, we were all under fire. But rest assured, we never panicked."
"Ah yes." Says Dale. "Just like [you taught us as being one of those pointers about detective work.]" Chip says.
"Yes. How right you are, lads." Plato says as [he pets the two with his finger.]
Gadget then asks the bulldog, "So Plato, how does it feel to be back in on the job?"
"Oh it is a thrill beyond belief, lass!" Plato gleefully replies, "Especially knowing that Adam is en route to his way on becoming a new detective in place of his Dad as you Rangers know well as Donald Drake among dedication of his retirement. I'm also proud to say that Stan is mucho pleased and impressed with all the work we have done so far."
"Stan?" Asks Chip.
"The police chief." Plato explains, "Also known as our boss at the precinct. You know, the man you Rangers saw whom [Aldrin Klordane confessed his guilt to on stealing that clutchcoin ruby.]"
"Ahhhhh" The Rangers all said as one while they nodded to each other in that interesting note in recall.
"Yup." Plato says, "In other wonderful news, the teenage lad is already on his way to putting that mean ol' Professor Nimnul away behind bars."
"Ah good. That's great to know, mate." Monterrey Jack replies.
Switching gears, Chip then eagerly asks the bulldog, "So Plato, what did Adam say when he discovered about us Rescue Rangers being the 'heroes' of the crimes that have slipped through the cracks this past year?
"Yeah, Plato." Monterrey Jack adds in, "The lad looked pretty stoked and thrilled about finding us in the course of events."
Plato laughs sheepishly and then answers, "How I'm so glad you asked that because I was just getting to that part with you Rangers."
Zipper flitted over to land on Monty's shoulder as Plato goes on, "Well, aside from Adam's observations of Zipper's talents, there were a couple of excellent references that I was able to present to Stan and Adam along the way."
Plato turns to Chip and Dale and points out to them, "One of them was how [I gave you lads my police badge that I earned on the day of Donald's retirement.]"
Chip and Dale looked at each other grinning widely saying, "Coooooool!"
Dale then says, "Yeah, we could never forget that day."
"Of course providing that we are all together as a team now, it shall be considered that it was collectively given to all of us Rangers to begin with." Gadget points out.
"Too right, Gadget luv," Says Monty. The Aussie mouse then turns to Plato and says, "We have kept it hanging in the living room of our headquarters as a small token of appreciation upon dedication of yours and Detective Drake's retirement throughout everything that we have done this past year as Rescue Rangers."
Plato sincerely says in response to that regard, "Well my my my, by that matter I am deeply honored."
The bulldog then says to Gadget, "And mind you Gadget, I also brought up an instance to those two human policemen about one of your inventions during that time last year!"
"Really!?" Gadget gasps.
"Yup." Plato says nodding swiftly, "Particularly [that jet shovel that you made during that train chase.] As a result, it even helped reinforce Stan and Adam's impression about you Rescue Rangers in the event."
All happy and flustered, Gadget shouts out, "Oh golly! I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it! Ooh this is all too good to be true!"
Plato then assures to all the Rangers, "So all that being said, I rest assure to you all that I have helped attract the attention to Adam and Stan within the standards of the engagement with the subculture."
That announcement stiffened all the Rangers' tails and ears as they all looked towards each other in such pure excitement, and chanted out in their own various ways in that manner.
"Crikey!" Says Monterrey Jack, "I've got this feeling that after all that we have been through, that whatever we are about to get involved in now shall be MIGHTY interesting!" "}You bet{, Monty!" Zipper buzzed out.
"How convenient of you to say that, Monty, because I have got even more exciting news," Plato adds in, "You Rescue Rangers are actually off to a head start of a treat!"
The Rangers' ears were up high, and their tail wagging speed started growing rapidly as Plato continues on, "With what Stan knows so far about you Rangers, he was able to start a documentation file and have it faxed over to Animal Control Officer, Vivian Gizmo."
"Oh yeah," Chimes Dale, and then turns to ask his friends, "Isn't she that lady that we saw appear on the Flash the Wonder Dog show?"
Monterrey Jack answers, "I believe so, mate. We all saw it from the back before we all joined you and Chip when the WD news interrupted the show."
Plato ignores those regards and continues along, "But anyways, Rangers, Vivian is an officer over at the Rescue Animal Society. A lot of us animals in the city have heard all about her. Thus, within knowing about you Rangers' talents, I have got a feeling that she will be thrilled and honored to give you Rangers your first honorable medal within recognition to the public world! So...What do you fellow Rescue Rangers say to that?"
All those exciting announcements left the Rangers' tails and ears stiffened for a second, and then they all shouted out happily as one, "Alright!"
"Well it might go without saying, Plato, but what would you suppose we Rescue Rangers have to lose?" Chip happily shouted out to their old canine role model.
"Yeah!" Dale chimes in, "It is the best lead that we have had since the day we saved you and Detective Drake!"
Chip then looks back towards the other Rangers as he directs to them, "Well Rescue Rangers, it iooks the road to our big adventure is now upon us!"
Chip then walks a couple of steps towards the bulldog as he wanted to ask him something very important about this case, "So um, listen Plato, as I've told my friends earlier before you showed up here, I am very stoked upon knowing how conceivable it is for us Rangers to take this opportunity to bring our role as detectives up to a grander scale. That being said, would you be so kind as to do the honors in being our guide as a starting point to this brand new road that we seek ahead of us?"
Plato chuckles a bit and then softly and sincerely answers in response, "What a silly question. Of course I will, lad. I would make a great asset for you Rangers on that matter. As a matter of fact, I just know now that Adam is kicking around the First Federal National City Bank waiting for us to meet him."
"That reminds me, mate." Says Monterrey as he pulls out a newspaper article about the retired detective with Donald's face on it, "We have also kept this newspaper article on Detective Drake's retirement, which is what we have also had hanging in the living room of our headquarters next to the police badge."
Gadget adds in, "By that matter, we have brought it along with us as it shall go well in cue for Adam to surely determine that we are those heroes that he is looking for."
"Well I wouldn't doubt for an instant that it shall, Rangers!" Plato says smiling proudly seeing how much the Rangers have actually come prepared for this surreal journey.
The canine then turns around and makes a gesture for the Rangers to on top aboard him and says, "Well without further ado; if you Rangers are ready, feel free to climb aboard!"
Chip then addresses to the other Rangers, "Well, is everyone ready?"
Monterrey Jack enthuses by stating while pounding his fists together like the muscled mouse that he is known to be, "You betcha I'm ready, Chipper!"
"I'm set to take it to the road where no Ranger has gone before!" Exclaims Dale.
"Everyone else ready?" The others nodded.
"Then lets climb on aboard!"
The Rangers all started climbing up the dog's fur. Once they were all settled in, Plato began skedaddling on the way to the bank to presumably meet the teenage rookie cop back there.
Several more minutes have now passed as Plato and the Rangers show up at the spot near the bank where Adam said to be at after he locked Professor Nimnul up behind bars like him and Plato had arranged to.
However, there was unfortunately no sign of the boy in the area. This of course was immediately beginning to puzzle Plato, and thus the same puzzled expression from the bulldog was slightly starting to cross the Rangers too.
"Er...Okay so where is Adam?" Asks Gadget in that manner.
Dale then asks, "Isn't he supposed to be here like you said he would be, Plato?"
The canine detective frowned slightly, and then answers, "Uh...Yeah."
"Adam?" Plato calls out expectantly.
The Rangers then joined the bulldog in calling out the young cop's name several numerous times; perhaps in hope and assumption that he could be somewhere else nearby the area, but no dice in reply.
Zipper even flew around and buzzed about as he scanned all the nearby boundaries that surrounded the area where Plato and the Rangers are in spot at the moment.
The insect then reluctantly flew back to the others.
Monterrey asks Zipper, "Didn't spot the lad anywhere nearby, did ya pally?" Zipper shakes his head "no".
"Hmmm, how...odd." Plato points out, "I sincerely expected him to be here precisely at this spot right now waiting for us after he sent Professor Nimnul behind bars. He literally told me so."
Dale then asks the canine, "Do you suppose that he is running a little late?"
"No it couldn't be, Dale!" Answers Plato, "From my experience, time is the intrinsic nature of detective work. Thus, if I know Adam, he is never late. He takes this job very seriously."
Chip then begins getting this suspicious feeling inside him in the event being the detective that the fedora wearing rodent is, and then starts rubbing his chin.
"Hmmm," Says the detective, "Well if it is any hunch on Adam's current whereabouts, Plato, perhaps something crazy must have come up back over at the police station with him."
Obviously gaining the greatest hunch of the teenager's latest whereabouts, Plato responds, "Well if that's the case, then perhaps we should check back over at the police station as I know that was where the young lad went off to while I was on my way to you Rangers."
Plato and the Rangers then skedaddled their way down to the fifth precinct police station.
They then arrived a minute later.
Before them was an unappealing sight of something that certainly caught Plato's attention regarding this sudden situation.
"Oh no!" Plato shouts out all horrified in reaction. "What?" The Rangers all at one inquired as confusion started flowing into each and every one of one's own eyes.
The bulldog then dashed his way to what he had seen from his point of view at a distance from that spot.
Plato and the Rangers then came towards Adam's motorcycle to find that it is now damaged with oil spilt all over the floor. This of course was even more puzzling to the Rangers while at the same time, a matter of alarm to Plato.
"Say it isn't SO!" The canine shouts.
Checking with Plato to be sure if the insect recalled correctly, Zipper asks the bulldog, "This must be Adam's motorcycle. Right, Plato?"
"Uh-huh" Plato answered and nodded while all flustered.
By that response, the Rangers all gasped in unison as the amount of uneasiness that they had started feeling inside them since theirs' along with Plato's discovery on Adam not being at the City Bank in the nick of time like the young man had genuinely expected to have been was starting to build up to the same level as Plato's.
Gadget then says in response, "Oh gee wilikers! Everything seemed to have been going so great! How could THIS have happened!?"
As that discussion between Plato and the other Rangers continued about, Chip did not say a word at all at the moment as his eyes were too busy gazing all around the remains of the motorcycle's damage that currently surrounded the heroes. Thus, Chip grows some bit of curiosity as a certain clue builds up in his mindset behind this mystery on what could have possibly happened to Adam. As a result, an idea started to sucker into the detective chipmunk that this could definitely make sense for it to be an extremely interesting upcoming case for the Rescue Rangers.
"Maybe he hit a dog or something." Dale blurts out.
Plato then points out to the Hawaiian-shirt wearing chipmunk, "No no don't be silly, Dale! Adam did NOT hit a dog! If he hit a dog, I would know it; considering that I AM a dog."
"Well SOMEthing must have came chargin' at the lad." Says Monterrey, "I remember the time when I was in Africa and a baby rhino came chargin' at me."
As Chip observed a track of small footprints that were left out of the oil spillage from the damaged motorcycle, the detective directs, "Well put your mouth on hold, Monterrey. It looks like sabatoge to me."
"Huh? How so, Chip?" Asks Plato in such obvious interest. Dale adds in by asking, "Yeah, Chip. Whats your first clue?"
Chip then points down to the little foot tracks on the sidewalk from the oil, "Look down there! I see some {cluster of footprints} that are apparently left from this spillage of motorcycle oil."
The other Rangers along with Plato then began to look on downward towards where Chip was pointing at. Plato at that same time bowed his head on down over to the oil spillage for all the Rescue Rangers to get a better sight at it.
Gadget then says in response, "Golly Chip, you are right." "That is our first clue alright." Dale adds in. "Too right, Daley," Says Monty, "Something seems mighty fishy about this."
"By the looks of it as far as I am concerned, whatever must have happened to Adam could possibly ]be part of an insidious plan![" Gadget points out.
At that point, this whole thing was really starting to grow a bit more mysterious as a chill started running through both the Rangers and Plato.
By that matter on how much anxiety built inside him, Dale asks the bulldog underneath him in such desperate wonder, "So what are we goint to do NOW, Plato!?"
Plato spills out the most obvious option left in this kind of case for what him and the Rangers are dealing with at the moment, "Well if in this type of situation, there is of course no other choice but for us to go over to Detective Drake's house, and inform Donald about his son's mysterious disappearance."
"Yeah," Chip agreed in a low voice, and then sighed, "After all, this is his son that is the whole mystery here. So in this world, this is something that we would HAVE to do best as the Rescue Rangers that we are."
"I can't agree with you more there, Chip." Dale says in a business man type like tone in his voice that sounded almost out of the norm from his original tone of voice.
Dale then ponders the question to Plato, "But yet, how do you think that Donald is going to handle this, Plato?"
Plato lets out a humongous sigh and then clearly states, "Well you know what they say, lad. Honesty is the best policy."
The bulldog then directs to the Rangers as they all start making their way over to the Drakes' house, "We will just...explain." As they continued on going, a little emotion of fear started to paralyze the canine a bit as he finishes, "And then beg for mercy."
Stay tuned next chapter where Donald gets informed to head on down to the police station with Plato and the Rangers eavesdropping on the whole thing as they witness Sergeant Thomas Spinelli, and Officers Jack Kirby and Elias Muldoon informing Donald that apparently, his son was "kicked out of the police force" according to some fake documentation that the fellow human officers received.
