"Let us tell an old story anew, and we will see how well you know it."
"That sounds like your voice, Mom?" Audrey said, glancing at her mother.
"It sounds like it, yes," Aurora said, looking at Fairy Godmother.
"Don't look at me, this was Mal's wish."
"Once upon a time, there were two kingdoms who were the worst of neighbors. So cast was the discord between them, that it was said only a great hero, or a terrible villain might bring them together." Showcasing the realm of humanity.
"Look it's my kingdom," Queen Leah, said, "One day it will be yours, Aurora."
"Thanks, Mother, but I have my kingdom."
"The moors is not your home." Queen Leah said.
"In one kingdom lived folk like you and me, with a vain and greedy king to rule over them. They were forever discontent, and envious of the wealth and beauty of their neighbors."
"That's why they hated us so, because of what we had?" Thistlewit whispered to Knotgrass.
"Seems they still have envy," Knotgrass whispered back.
"For in the other Kingdom, the Moors, lived every manner of strange and wonderful creatures, and they needed neither king nor queen but trusted in one another," The screen panned over the moors, revealing a variety of creatures.
"The Moors are truly beautiful," Ariel said.
"Thank you," Aurora said, glancing at Mal "Your mother gives most of the credit for that place, she was once its protector."
Mal gasps hearing this, something she never knew. Ben held her hand showing her he was there for her.
"In a great tree on a great cliff in the Moors lived one such a spirit," A smiling young girl with long brown hair and big black wings and small horns on her head was shown lying in the tree branches.
"That looks like-" Ben tried to say.
"My mother as a child." Mal chipped in with another gasp.
"She looks happy and free," Jay said.
"You might take her for a girl, but she was not just any girl, she was a fairy," The girl made motions with her hands causing gold magic to make two wooden dolls with wings circle each other in the air as if they were dancing.
"She looks so peaceful in that tree," Snow White said.
"It reminds me of home." Aurora said.
"It also reminds me how I met you in the forest." Philp said smiling at her.
A branch cracks and the girl gasp, dropping her dolls to move across the tree. Finding the broken branch, she cups it in her hands and uses her magic to repair it. She smiled, "There you go."
Ben looked at Mal with a frown, whispering to her "If this is your mother, then she was once good."
"That good has long gone, Ben." Mal said, a tear coming out of her eye, she didn't think this was her mother as a child.
"And her name was," the narrator continued "Maleficent."
Gasps echoed throughout the room, marking the collective surprise that swept through everyone in response to the unexpected turn of events.
"That can't be Maleficent!" Adam said, getting Mal's attention.
"Why?" Mal asked and felt Ben's touch as he also starred at his father.
"No offense to you my dear, but your mother's powers a green not gold like the girl in the movie," Adam said.
"King Adam, all due respect, that is Maleficent." Aurora said. "Her powers are gold because here she is still pure of heart."
Mal smiled at Aurora for standing up for Maleficent, she found it strange, seeing as Maleficent is the one who had cursed her, but then Mal frowned as she looked down at her hands, a thought going through her mind.
So why were my hands. glow green or purple every time I use it, was I always using it for bad intensions.
Ben sensed her worry and tightened his grip on her hand. "Hi, you okay." he asked.
"Yeah, just thinking."
Maleficent used her wings to fly down along the water. "Good morning, Mr. Chanterelle! I love your cap!" The creature lifted his cap in greeting. She started to come up to three creatures, one of which grabbed a handful of mud.
"That looks like fun," Jane said.
"That's not fun," Audrey said. "I hate them."
"Audrey!" Aurora said.
"They dirty and always throws me with mud."
"She won't survive the isle then." Jay whispered making all the VKs laugh.
"No. No, don't do it!" She warned and then she grunted, just barely missing the mud and it hits another creature. She laughs "Ah! You missed me!"
"Maleficent really is enjoying it in the moors," Rapunzel said.
"Wonder why she turned evil." Eugene wondered.
"Let's watch and see, honey." Rapunzel said.
"Good morning," She greeted some fairies tending to the flowers as she flew past them.
"Good morning," The fairies greeted back, as she kept on flying over the river.
"Lovely work, girls." She said to another kind of fairies who was busy tending to more flowers.
She flies into the air, making a loop in the air. "Whoo-ooh"
In the midst of the bustling room, a hushed gasp filled the air as Hades, the god of the underworld, materialized in the far corner. His unexpected presence sent shivers down the spines of those gathered. Mal, a simmering fury in her eyes, rose from her seat, flanked by Ben and Adam, ready to confront the god.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Mal demanded, her arms crossed.
"He came with your wish, Mal," Fairy Godmother interjected, gesturing towards the other members from the Isle who had accompanied Hades.
"Quite the show you put on today," Hades remarked, strolling towards Mal, who matched his approach with arms still crossed. Ben stood nervously behind her, recalling Hades's past aggression on the bridge.
"I was just coming to see you," Hades explained, leaving the room in a stunned silence.
"Oh, please. You were trying to escape," Ben retorted, but Mal signaled him to stand down.
"I wonder why. Is it because I'm going to be queen?" Mal provocatively circled Hades.
"Oh, come on, Mal. Don't be bitter," Hades countered.
"You abandoned me when I was a baby," Mal accused, prompting gasps, especially from Ben, with Adam pulling him back.
"No, I left your mother. She's not the easiest person to get along with."
"You think?" Mal scoffed as Hades nonchalantly grabbed a bottle of water from a nearby table, surrounded by others.
"You see, we have something in common already," Hades remarked. "We both hate your mother."
"No, I don't hate my mother. She might be an evil lunatic, but at least she stuck around."
"Ah, boo-hoo," Hades mocked, attracting the attention of Zeus, Poseidon, and Hercules, who approached the unfolding drama. "Wake up and smell the stick. You think you had it rough? I used to be a god, had an entire world that bore my name, and now I have nothing. You have no idea how that feels."
"Really? Because for sixteen years, I had nothing, and now I have a whole world."
"Brother, I think you better get out of her way," Zeus warned, intervening as Mal's hands began to glow. Ben stepped up to calm her down.
"You had your chance," Mal said, turning away from Hades.
"I think let's go on with the movie," Fairy Godmother suggested, ushering Zeus to take Hades away from Mal. She sat back down beside Ben, Evie offering a comforting touch on her shoulder.
"Guess that's your dad," Ben whispered to Mal.
"Yeah, a dad who was never in my life."
