Note: I put a scene in at the end that's not part of the movie but its part of my story.
Thank you all for the reviews so far, I'll answer everyone again in the next chapter.
Thank you.
As the golden sun made its way across the sky, Maleficent walked onward, her face twisted into a scowl with each passing step. She trekked across a field of gravel, her boots crunching on the rocky surface, before finally arriving at the ruins of an old stone building atop a dark, imposing hill.
"That's the old ruins of my new castle in the Moors," Aurora said, a hint of pride in her voice as she recognized the place.
"I had the pleasure of rebuilding it with the help of Maleficent," Phillip added, his tone warm and grateful.
"But I thought Phillip killed Maleficent with his sword," Dizzy piped up, having overheard their conversation.
"That's merely a story, not the truth," Aurora replied, her voice tinged with bitterness.
Alone in the crumbling fortress, Maleficent stood silently, her eyes scanning the ruins for any signs of life. Suddenly, a loud cawing caught her attention, and she turned to see a large raven perched on a nearby stone, squawking at her loudly.
"Is that the same raven that helped Maleficent?" Carlos asked, looking over at Mal, who simply shrugged her shoulders in response.
Without a word, Maleficent pursed her lips and blew, sending a powerful gust of wind towards the bird that swept it off the stone and allowed it to fly away.
"Oh, the poor thing," Ariel said, her heart going out to the raven.
Days passed, and the world continued to turn. Another morning dawned, and this time the same raven was trapped under a net while two hunting dogs barked furiously at it. A dirty farmer danced around the bird in excitement, his eyes shining with greed. "I've got you!" he cried, reaching out to grab the bird.
"Why don't they just leave the bird alone?" Melody asked, looking on with a frown.
"Man is like that, sweetheart," Eric replied, a note of sadness in his voice. "Sometimes we forget that we share this world with other creatures."
Neither he nor the dogs noticed Maleficent standing a few feet away, hidden amongst the tall wheat. She watched them for a moment longer before turning and walking away, her mind deep in thought.
"Why would they? They're more occupied with the bird than anything else," Akiho said softly, her voice tinged with a note of sadness as well.
The farmer angrily approached the raven, holding a stick high above his head.
"You wicked bird!" he shouted.
Maleficent used her magical powers to quickly transform the raven into a man upon whispering a command. Chad, who was present, asked why she chose to transform the raven into a man. The farmer was so shocked to see the transformation that he fell to the ground. As the raven grew and changed, the farmer watched in amazement. The bird's wings turned into arms, and its beak transformed into a nose. Finally, the bird became a man.
"It's a demon!" The farmer cried, running.
"Last time I checked, demons don't look like that," Hadie remarked.
Mal questioned, "How do you know?"
"Because Dad showed me," Hadie replied, causing Mal to turn to Hades.
"What?" Hades inquired, noticing Mal's glare.
"Why would you show him?" Mal asked, not trusting the Lord of the Underworld.
"He's my son. I can show him whatever I want," Hades stated nonchalantly. "I can show you too if you're interested."
Mal found it strange how easily Hades said that. She wondered what he wanted from her.
The man, now gone, Maleficent approached the raven. The raven was spinning around examining his new form. Maleficent paced around him, regarding him with suspicion.
"What have you done to my beautiful self?" He asked warily.
"Why did he ask that?" Harriet cackled.
"I was surprised and in shock," Diaval said.
"But she just saved you!" Celia exclaimed.
"I know that," he replied.
"Would you rather I let them beat you to death?" She snapped back.
The man looked back at her after checking behind him. "I'm not certain."
"Stop complaining," Maleficent chided. "I saved your life."
"See, even Maleficent is saying it," Celia said.
"I was a bit caught by surprise, Celia. I didn't think about that," Mal replied.
"I'm amazed she's still using good magic after everything that happened," Melody said.
"Why do you say that, Melody?" Chad asked.
"Her magic is bright like the sun, not green like we all know it to be," Melody explained.
Mal looked at her hands again. Ben noticed this and touched her hand, asking, "You okay?"
"Yeah, just thinking," Mal replied.
"About what?" Ben asked.
"Wondering why my powers are between green and purple, mostly purple," Mal said.
"You're a half god, Mal," Hades said. "Your powers are special, just like each of the other gods."
"That makes sense," Mal said, closing her hands into fists.
The man considered this. "Forgive me," He said humbly.
"What do I call you?"
"Diaval. And in return for saving my life, I am your servant. Whatever you need." He bowed his head.
"So that's how he helped Maleficent because she saved him," Jane said.
"Wings," she told him. "I need you to be my wings."
His brow wrinkled questioningly.
Now clothed in black pants, shirt, and jacket with tails, the two set off out of the field. Diaval, turning back into a bird and flying away.
"I wonder why she wants him as wings?" Chad asked, amused as his sister playfully kicked him.
"She wants him to spy on Stefan," she replied.
"Considering everything Stefan has done to her, I wouldn't be surprised if she's planning her revenge beyond just cutting off her wings," Harriet said. It was clear to her that there was more to the situation than what they knew so far.
In a throne room not too far away and not long after, a regal golden crown adorned with carvings and gems was gently placed upon the head of King Stefan. Unnoticed by everyone, Diaval flew up high and perched on an open window to witness the fanfare.
"Clever," Jay said.
"Thank you," Diaval said.
"I present to you the first of his line, His Royal Highness King Stefan."
The crowd of noblemen and noblewomen, dressed in rich attire, murmured excitedly to each other.
"First of his line!" Cinderella said looking at Queen Leah "Seems like your lie is catching up to you."
With a feigned display of humility, Stefan made his way to his throne.
"Why wasn't my coronation this easy?" Ben questioned.
"This was just one kingdom, unlike what we have now," Adam replied.
Diaval left and told Maleficent of his findings.
"He did this to me so he would be king." She coldly repeated. Green magic rose from her staff.
"This is where my mother became evil," Mal said seeing the green magic rising from her mother's Scepter.
"All because her friend wanted to be on top," Belle said.
"I'm sorry Mal," Aurora said, "What my family did to your mother is unforgivable."
Mal just nodded her head at the Queen not expecting that apology.
Maleficent let out a blood-curdling scream as she raised her staff and unleashed the full force of her magic. A brilliant green misty energy burst forth from the tip of her staff, shooting straight up into the sky like a beacon. As the energy surged outward, it engulfed Maleficent in a swirling vortex of power, crackling and pulsing with an otherworldly intensity. The air around her hummed with the raw energy of her spell, and for a moment, it seemed as though the very fabric of reality was warping and twisting under the weight of her power.
Mal stared at the screen not expecting that much power from her mother. She wonders how strong her powers are with her father's powers together.
Could I also do all that harm or worse, she thought.
Standing on his grand balcony, Stefan gazed out into the distance, his eyes fixed on the horizon. In the far-off distance, he could make out a brilliant beacon of green magic, its powerful light illuminating the surrounding dark clouds for miles and miles. Despite the vast distance between him and the source of the light, Stefan couldn't ignore the captivating and mesmerizing display before him.
"That's power," Zeus said. "No wonder you fell for a woman like her, brother."
The lizard hissed at Zeus and Hades laughed.
"Careful brother." Hades said.
Finally, the magic came back down and settled in her hands.
"Now what, Mistress?" Diaval whispered from the shadows.
Without answering, she walked off, leaving Diaval to look back up to the sky.
"I'm glad that's over with," Diaval said, remembering how dark the years were with Maleficent's curse.
Maleficent, consumed by her fury, made her way back to the Moors. She was so enraged that her magic destroyed everything in her path, including a set of low stone walls that crumbled as each brick was tossed aside.
"She is pissed off," Harry said.
"You would also be pissed if they took your hook away, Harry," Uma said.
Darkness spread over the Moors, covering every bit of light as she entered. Each of the creatures stopped to stare in fear at their guardian.
"Her wings!" One fairy yelled.
"Are they being stupid? She is angry and they are asking about her wings," Akiho said.
"At the time we didn't think of that," Knotgrass said.
Maleficent sat atop her throne, made of her twisted magic, Diaval perched on her shoulder.
"There's the evil we all know," Queen Leah said.
"Queen Leah, I'll stay quiet if I was you," Snow White said, seeing the rage in Hades' eyes. Mal, also seeing this, wondered if her father still had love for her.
The creatures of the Moors glanced at each other nervously. With a growl from Balthazar, each bent into low bows.
Thunder clapped overhead as Maleficent stroked the back of her Raven companion. A new era had set over the Moors.
"M," Evie said.
"Yeah," Mal said, glancing at Evie.
"You okay," Evie asked.
"I just didn't expect this from the stories we heard," Mal said.
"I'm gonna fix this story of your mother as soon as we are back at my castle," Ben said, kissing Mal on the hand. She smiled at him.
Months later, servants pause in their work to chatter excitedly as one comes in to spread the news they had been waiting for.
"It's a girl!" One gasp.
They all join the praise as they rejoice with one another. Diaval, unnoticed atop a wood pole, flies off.
All the royals knew how their staff always started gossiping about little feet born.
He met up in the Moors with Maleficent, who awaited at a babbling creek. She waved her golden magic as he came in for a landing.
He stumbled, grunting as he landed. "Well?" She asked when he straightened up.
"Wait, why is her magic still golden?" Ariel asked.
"I'm guessing the big event hasn't started yet," Jay said.
"No!" Hades said looking down at Maleficent "I'm sorry for just leaving."
"What's wrong Hades?" Zeus asked.
"We might see it soon."
"Well, I saw nothing. But, there's been a uhm..." He hesitated.
"What?" She demanded.
"Child," When she didn't immediately speak, he continued. "King Stefan and the Queen have had a child." Maleficent steeled herself, despite the discomfort she knew the revelation gave her.
"Oh."
"She looks like it hit a nerve," Carlos said.
"There will be a christening," He told her warily as she looked down. "They say it's to be a grand celebration."
"A grand celebration for a baby," She started.
Mal would only consider her evil voice when she had a plan.
Her eyes lifted to his. "How wonderful." Her lips lifted to a smile.
"I don't like the sound of that," Queen Leah said, remembering all too well what had happened.
"Maleficent intended to crash the party in a few days. However, she collided with an angry deity passing by." Narrator said.
"That sounds like Lord Hades," Uma said looking at Mal who turned to her dad.
"What were you doing there?" Mal asked.
"I was planning my co-op on Mount Olympus and Hercules was for some reason in the area, so I followed him."
Hades greeted Maleficent with a smile as Diaval flew off to an unknown destination. "What brings a beautiful Dark Fae like you here?" he asked.
"Did Hades just say beautiful?" Jay said.
"There goes my rep," Hades mumbled but saw a smile from Mal. Maybe she'll forgive me, he thought.
"Thank you, I live here. Who are you?" Maleficent asked with a smile.
"I'm Lord Hades, God of the underworld," he replied.
"What brings the god of the underworld to this area?"
"Good question?"
"I'm looking for the brat that might ruin my plans."
Hades and Maleficent were walking together while discussing their plans. During the conversation, Hades shared an idea with Maleficent - to use an object to create a "sleep-like-death" effect. As time passed, Maleficent's heart was touched once again.
"Oh no," said Cinderella, looking at Hades.
"What did you do, brother?" Poseidon asked.
"I was full of rage. I didn't know what would happen when I left," Hades replied, getting hissed at by lizard Maleficent.
"Don't hiss at me," Hades told her, and she jumped off, running to Mal's foot. Mal picked her up and glanced at her father.
"You broke her heart," Mal said with rage, as Ben held her hand.
"Mal!" Ben said.
"I'm fine. Let's watch this movie," Mal said with the lizard on her lap.
