Hello, fellow trainers. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. The last chapter was the longest one of this story to date, but I think the extra effort I put in was worth it this time. Last chapter had the first big fight scene and I hope I pulled it off well.

Anyway, the last chapter had the group disrupt the combined operation of Roman Torchwick, Team Galactic, and the White Fang at the docks where they won their battles except Weiss and Nicholas who got owned by Roman and his Lampent, Shadowfire. The second major point was Penny Polendina's debut along with her Porygon, Yottabyte.

Needless to say, Weiss and Nicholas are looking pretty down right now as they are the only pair of good guys in that chapter that actually lost. In the end, it turned out mostly okay

Now, we look at some sad time with Weiss in Blue Snow!

*Beacon Academy. Team RWBY's Dorm Room. 9:00 am*

The atmosphere with team RWBY could've been better as their mission with team JNPR was mostly a success. They'd probably halted the operations of Roman Torchwick who was working with Team Galactic and the White Fang in Vale, but they did get away with a lot of dust. Penny managed to destroy a Bullhead with Yottabyte and they waved her goodbye.

However, Weiss felt the worst as she and Nicholas got owned by Torchwick and his Lampent despite having a type advantage. They were both downtrodden as it had only been a couple of days since then. She was sitting on a table with Nicholas sitting on her lap not making a sound. Her physical wounds may have healed by now, but her pride was damaged heavily along with her Piplup's.

"Weiss, please. You have to eat something." Ruby said, putting a plate of eggs and bacon in front of her.

"I'm not hungry." Weiss muttered, her tone obvious.

"That's what you've been saying the past couple of days!" Ruby then shouts clearly having enough of this. "Either eat soon or I'll make you!" she then warns, snapping.

Weiss turned around and glared at her leader. "I don't want to eat! Or drink! I want to be left alone right now!" She screamed, standing up.

"Weiss. As your leader. It is my job to make sure you stay healthy. So. Sit. Down.~" Ruby warns with a shockingly intense glare, reminiscent of her mom's steely gaze.

"You don't get it! None of you do! I'm supposed to be perfect, prepared for any situation! That was our very first group mission outside of Beacon grounds and I got my ass kicked! I'm not good enough!" Weiss screamed with tears falling down her eyes.

"SIT! DOWN!" Ruby shouts with the might of a hundred Donphans.

"NO!" Weiss shouted back with equal intensity. "I let you down! I let Team RWBY down! I let our entire group down!"

Ruby slaps Weiss hard enough to make her stumble back onto her chair. She then shoves Weiss into her table and holds her there. "Eat. I know you got a lot of junk on your shoulders but my mom told me to never talk on an empty stomach and you girl, are bone dry. SO EAT!"

"Please, Ruby. Just leave me alone." Weiss was flat-out crying at this point. "I don't feel like eating, nor does Nicholas."

"Do you want me to shove your food down your throat? I don't think you want to test me on that." Ruby then warns as she leans over and stares at Weiss, her eyes telling the Schnee that this was her final warning.

"Ruby..." Weiss tried to speak, but her stomach betrayed her greatly. "Fine." Picking up the fork and knife, she began eating, although she still had the sad expression on her face.

Just as she started eating, Yang and Blake walked into the dorm room. "Hey, Rubes." Yang said, her small smile dropping when she saw Weiss. "You managed to get Weiss to finally eat?"

"Yes" Ruby then looks down at Nicholas who pales upon meeting her gaze. "You'll eat what I give you?" she then questions, the Piplup nodding their head rapidly out of fear.

"Just let her feed you, Nicholas. Not like it'll help us all that much." Weiss sighed in resignation as she continued eating, albeit slowly.

"Weiss, you can't let this consume you." Blake voiced softly.

"Blake, no. Wait until she finishes eating." Ruby instructs which Weiss was actually thankful for. If she was being honest with herself she was actually quite glad to be eating again. Ruby really knew how to cook.~

Yang walked over to her sister, still looking at Weiss with concern. "What happened while we were gone, sis?" She whispered.

"A whole lot of nothing. Until I finally lost my patience." Ruby whispered back with a sigh, now looking a little guilty, "I hate being forceful. But I am glad Mom taught me how to be assertive when necessary. Oh, Weiss did open up a bit actually." She then shares with Yang about Weiss's feelings.

"So, she still feels like crap after that." Yang whispered, then sighed. "She's gotta stop beating herself up about that. Torchwick had obviously trained with his Lampent for a long time. We only got our Pokemon a few years ago."

"I told her that, but she's refusing to listen. I wish there was something we could do to cheer her up." Ruby whispered back, sadness evident in her voice for her partner. "What's worse is that Nicholas feels the exact same way."

A few minutes later, Weiss was finished eating and she was feeling a little better, but still down in the dumps. Now, the other three were sitting on Blake's bed across from the heiress. "Weiss, this has to stop." Yang said softly.

Weiss sighed again. "We all know how this talk ends, Yang. Why can't you three just leave me alone?"

"We care about you, Weiss." Ruby cut in, slightly sternly. "We want you to be happy again, but you're not giving us a chance to do so."

"What if I don't want to be cared about right now? Ever think of that?" Weiss questioned.

"Weiss, please." Blake raised her voice. "What will it take to get you out of this funk?"

"Blake, I don't want to talk about it." Weiss was getting irritated by her team's attempts at cheering her up. She understood their intentions, but she didn't want that right now.

"Weiss, if we can't cheer you up, can you at least promise us that you'll look after yourself?" Yang asked, clearly tired of Weiss's current attitude. "If you can, we'll stop pestering you."

"That means you eat, drink, clean yourself up, and exercise to ensure you're still fit and ready." Ruby clarified, listing them off her fingers.

Weiss took a deep breath. "Fine. I'll do my best to do those things." She got up and slowly walked out of the dorm room, Nicholas following suit with the same posture and expression.

All three let out a collective sigh hoping for the best as soon as she was out of earshot. "Damn, she's really down." Yang stated.

"Torchwick beating her wasn't her fault. He's just proved himself the stronger opponent." Blake added.

"It's her Schnee pride that's hurt." Ruby voiced. "She was raised to be absolutely perfect, no matter what despite Nicholas making her happier as a kid. This is the first real loss according to her, so it's eating her up inside."

"Oum, I wish we could help her." Yang sighed.

"I think this is something Weiss needs to figure out on her own." Ruby added. "I do understand how you feel though, Yang."

Just then, team JNPR walked in. "Hey, guys." Nora waved softly, Moss once again had his long arms wrapped around her while he was sleeping on her back. "Weiss still sad?"

"Yes, but I wouldn't say sad, more like frustrated with herself." Blake gently corrected.

Jaune sighed. "Did you guys get her to eat at least?"

"Thankfully, I did, though I had to force her to do so." Ruby answered, a twinge of guilt in her voice.

"You did the right thing forcing her to eat, Ruby." Ren voiced. "Otherwise, she would've never started her path to getting better."

"She needs to understand we're all here for her." Pyrrha added. "We're on teams for a reason."

Meanwhile, Weiss was just wandering around, but she was now holding Nicholas in her arms as that made her feel a little better. "How do they expect us to feel better, Nicholas?" She asked her Piplup.

"Piplup..." Nicholas sighed in his own way.

"I know. I understand where our team is coming from, but it's aggravating." Weiss said.

"Pi, Piplup." Nicholas cutely gestured with his little flippers. "Pip. Piplup."

Weiss couldn't help but smile slightly at Nicholas's gesturing. "Yes. That shows how much they care about our well-being and how they want you and I to be happy again. However, they need to convey it better."

A couple hours later, Weiss and Nicholas wound up in the open and to what looked like a playground/park area for Pokemon in Beacon. "This area is beautiful." Weiss whispered to herself as she sat down on a nearby bench, Nicholas still in her arms. There were little multi-colored houses, a large pond, a few rock formations, and a sandbox. Just as she took another breath, she heard lots of pitter-patters of little feet. She then saw multiple, first stage feline and canine Pokemon such as Lillipups like Rosebud, Skittys, Yampers, Purrloins, and Rockruffs to name a few. Some of the different species were running around, playing with each other while some Purrloins were sleeping soundly under the shade of a large tree. Some Yampers were cutely strutting around into a little house. Weiss found the sight heartwarming.

Feeling another weight on the bench to her left, she turned her head and saw a Yamper staring at her with a smile. Because of this, Weiss was able to get a better look: It had a brown body with yellow fluff around its neck, resembling a collar, and yellow highlights around its eyes. It also had a yellow bolt-shaped tail and a heart-shaped pattern on its rear. Its four feet, underside, and parts of its face were white. "Oh. Hey, little guy." The Yamper seemed to tell Weiss was upset and actually whined as it moved a little closer to her.

"Sorry, but I'm not I'm the mood for talking." Weiss sighed, her head low. The Yamper didn't move away. Instead, it inched ever closer. "I see you're not going to leave."

"Yamper!" It barked. It then panted, its tongue sticking out.

"Curse my weakness of cute things." Weiss managed another small smile as she recalled Nicholas and let the Yamper sit on her lap. "You are so cute, little guy." She said. The Yamper panted in happiness to Weiss's words as she rubbed it gently. "You're an electric type, aren't you?"

"Yamper." The Puppy Pokemon nodded before reaching up and licking her face, causing the heiress to start giggling.

"Thanks." Weiss giggled, feeling cheered up a tiny bit. She looked to see the Yamper still sitting on her lap, smiling at her. "You want to become the second member of my team?"

"Yamper!" The Puppy Pokemon barked happily.

Weiss thought about it logically. "Having my own electric-type does merit great advantage, It also means Nora won't be the only one to provide support against water and flying types." Yamper went back to licking Weiss's cheek.

"Sounds like he's trying to cheer you up." Weiss turned to see Summer standing a couple feet to her left with a smile.

"Mrs. Rose!" Weiss squeaked, not expecting one of her teachers to be here and definitely not Ruby and Yang's mother, no less.

"Weiss, please, call me Summer. I may be a mother and wife, but I'm not that old yet." Summer giggled.

"O-Oh! I'm so sorry, Mrs. Rose! I don't mean to offend you!" Weiss began sweating, fearing that she just ticked off her leader's mother.

Summer just burst out heartily laughing. "You really need to learn to lighten up, Weiss! It would do you some good!"

Weiss just blushed, even though she'd heart that before. "A-Anyway, what are you doing here exactly?"

"Oh, I come here every so often to check on the Pokemon here and even play with them sometimes. Anyway, why're you here? You seem sad."

"Have you heard what we've done recently?" Weiss then asks going back to being sad, making the Yamper whine a little in concern.

"Oh, you mean my daughters' team and team JNPR fighting Team Galactic thugs, White Fang, and Roman Torchwick at the docks, trying to stop dust theft." Summer brought up, making Weiss go wide-eyed. "What? Is it that shocking we're keeping an eye on you all? Not going to say how of course.~" Summer then teases.

"Then you should already know that Nicholas and I got virtually destroyed by Roman Torchwick at the docks." Weiss lamented.

"Weiss, there's no way you could've known Roman Torchwick had that Lampent, nor those upgrades. All you can do is perform the best of your ability. Roman has no doubt spent years training." Summer said, sitting down next to Weiss.

"Mrs. Ro... Summer, I'm supposed to be perfect, ready for whatever situation comes my way and I was completely caught off guard and I paid the price for it." Weiss groaned, making sure not to upset Summer while tearing up a little once again.

Summer frowns slightly, "Now who said you have to be perfect?~" She then says in a gentle voice as she wraps an arm around Weiss's shoulders.

"I'm from Atlas, full of mostly pompous upstarts and the way my father sunk his claws into me in my childhood, I guess I always felt I has to be perfect." Weiss reasoned, crying.

"Weiss, no one is perfect. You're going to fail like that time abd time again. What matters is how you handle it." Summer advised softly. "Plus, any parent that expects perfection from their child is an idiot. You shouldn't be aiming to please your father's expectations."

"What about my sister, Winter? She's always seemed like the ideal role model." Weiss brought up.

"I doubt your sister is perfect, Weiss. I bet she's got issues of her own that she's probably working out on her own." Summer said.

"Do you know her?" Weiss then asks.

"We're acquaintances." Summer admits.

"I see. Even so, Roman completely outclassed me, even though Nicholas had a typing advantage against his Lampent." Weiss said.

Summer had to hold in a bit of a giggle, "Weiss if there's any advice I can give you about pokemon battles. It's that type advantages and disadvantages are not the things you should rely on in a fight."

"Then what should I rely on in a fight if not type advantages?" Weiss asked, wondering what Summer was getting at.

"Weiss. You don't rely on things like type advantages right?" Summer then points out as she gestures to Weiss herself. "What do you rely on?"

"I rely on my skills, glyphs, and Nicholas." Weiss listed off. "I guess I also rely on my Piplup's tenacity."

"And does that have anything to do with relying on the fighter you have to go up against? Do you think about going up against them if they're the best suited opponent for you or not? Or do you think about how to beat them and fight around their strengths while taking advantage of your own." Summer then asks.

"Admittedly, you do have a point." Weiss admitted. "It also doesn't help that I only have Nicholas in my Pokemon team." She again looked down at her lap and the Yamper was still looking at her with concern. "This little guy wants to join my team as my second Pokemon."

"Hm hm~ It won't be easy~" Summer then admits as she reaches out and pets the little Yamper's head. "Yampers can grow to be very powerful but it takes a lot of time and dedication to make them into true fighters." she explains before looking at Weiss again with caring eyes. "Think you're up for the challenge?"

"I... I think I am, but what shall I name him?" Weiss then asked. "He needs a name if he's going to join me."

"I'm sure you'll think of something. But before he can be yours. You need his pokeball." Summer then stands up and swiftly walks over to a large red rectangular metal box that was up against a wall. Weiss watches as Summer presses a few buttons and out came a standard red and white ball. "Catch!" she then says as she throws it at Weiss.

Weiss caught the ball and looked at the Yamper. "Well, little fella, what do you say? You really want to join me and Nicholas?"

"Yamper!" The Puppy Pokemon barked happily, his tongue out of his mouth a little bit as he panted.

With that answer, Weiss pressed the ball against Yamper who hit the button in the center. The Puppy Pokemon was sucked into the device in a matter of seconds. The Poke-Ball then shrunk to the size where she could safely carry it just like Nicholas's. "Welcome to the team, little fella." Weiss smiled.

"Weiss, while I am happy for you gaining a second Pokemon, you should start training Yamper very soon. Making him a fighter will take quite some time and dedication, but I know you're determined enough to do it." Summer smiled a motherly smile at the heiress.

"Weiss smiled back. "Thank you, Summer. Really, thank you."

"You should get back to your dorm now. Your teammates and friends are no doubt worried about you." Summer pointed out.

"I-I can't right now." Weiss looked down with embarrassment. "I've pushed them away a lot in the past couple days. I made your daughter practically force me to sit at the table in our dorm and eat something. The perfectionist in me won't be able to look at any of them."

"Well, you'll have to apologize to them as well." Summer added.

"I don't know if I can do that yet." Weiss still held her head down.

"You don't have to do it right now, I'm not forcing you to, but I'm just saying to do it soon or you will regret it later." Summer clarified.

"I understand. Again, thank you, Summer." Weiss managed another small smile as she walked off with two Poke-Balls instead of one.

Summer watched Weiss walk off. "You can do it, Weiss." She whispered out loud.

Weiss was walking back to her dorm while thinking about what to name her new Yamper. Suddenly, she got an idea. "I wonder how he'll react to the name Samuel. That sounds like a good name for my new friend."

A few minutes later, the heiress reached her dorm room. Taking a deep breath, she entered the room where the rest of her team and JNPR were just sitting around talking. They spotted Weiss and Yang ushered her inside. "You've been gone for quite a bit of time, Weiss. You feeling better at all?" She asked, still concerned for her teammate.

"A little, Yang. A little." Weiss blushed, clearly very nervous. "Look, guys. I'm... I'm sorry for how I've been the last couple days."

"Weiss, don't worry. We forgive you." Ruby smiled. "We just want you to get better and back into fighting shape."

Weiss chuckled. "Well, Ruby, you can thank your mother for me doing this right now."

Ruby giggled. "That's Mom for you. She has that effect on people."

"Well, I'm glad you're starting to feel better." Blake smiled.

"I admit, it'll still take a while for me to get back into the right mindset, but now, I'm on my way to doing so." Weiss stated.

"Good to hear, Weiss." Ren said.

"You know if you need anything, you can come to us as well as your team." Jaune reminded with a smile.

"Yeah. You don't have to do things alone." Pyrrha said.

"Well. I might need some help I guess." Weiss admits as she takes out a pokeball, "I got a new teammate to help train after all." She then adds, surprising everyone.

"You have a new Pokemon?! Show us, show us, show us!" Nora exclaimed, very excited to meet Weiss's new friend.

"Calm down, Nora, please." Ren tried to calm down his teammate and long-time friend.

Weiss shook her head good-naturedly as she brought out Nicholas as well as Samuel. "This is my second Pokemon, Samuel." She introduced.

"Yamper!" Samuel barked happily, eager to meet his trainers' friends.

"Awwwww!" Ruby, Pyrrha, Nora, and Yang all cooed at the Puppy Pokemon, getting close to him and gushing at his cuteness while Blake instinctively jumped to somewhere safe. Jaune and Ren merely smiled at the heiress's new companion.

"So, what Pokemon is Samuel?" Jaune asked out of curiosity.

"Yamper. An electric type." Weiss answered.

Hearing this got Nora even more excited. "You have an electric type now?! That's awesome! He could play with Thor!"

Nicholas was off to the side, still looking sad. He began to walk off when Weiss picked him up. "Nicholas, I believe Ruby wants to talk to you."

Ruby quickly scooped the Piplup out of Weiss's arms and put on a slightly stern expression. "Nicholas, I know you are prideful and that loss was a big blow to that, but you will eat from now on and you will get better, understand me?" Nicholas nodded quickly. Ruby could be scary if she meant to be. "Good." With that, Ruby passed him back to Weiss.

The heiress gained a small smile looking at her friends as the four continued cooing over Samuel while Jaune and Ren still smiled and Blake was hiding from the Puppy Pokemon. Sure, she suffered a big loss against Torchwick, but she had her friends and all of their Pokemon backing her up . Plus, she has a new friend to train. She was Weiss Schnee! She was going to get better for the future thanks to her friends and her own determination!

"Piplup." Weiss looked at Nicholas, held him up higher, and hugged him.

"We will get better, Nicholas, together. You are strong and so am I. We will not let this loss stop us. We will use it to strengthen our resolve." Weiss said softly.

Nicholas could actually sense the truth in his trainer's words and would use them to bring himself back into fighting shape. "Piplup!" He chirped proudly.

Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. This was a Weiss-centric chapter as she was down in the dumps in this chapter, Ruby even forcing her to eat. Soon, the depressed heiress wanders off, Nicholas in tow. Finding herself in a newly built Pokemon Park in another part of Beacon, she befriends a Yamper which she names Samuel. Summer appears and has a conversation with Weiss as well. Later on, Weiss admits that it'll take a while for her to get completely better, but she's on her way.
