Hello, fellow trainers. Centurion Maximo here and welcome back to Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. Quite a bit happened in the last chapter, starting with Thorn evolving into Beautiful who almost attacks Jaune and Velvet thanks to her new predatory instincts.

Meanwhile, Coco befriends a Snivy which she names Diane. Later on, she shows Diane off to Velvet. A couple hours later, Blake and Shadow help a Rookidee fight off a Nevermore. In the end, the Rookidee decided to join the two and Blake named her Valentina.

*Southeast Sanus. Slateport. 09:12 am*

Slateport, a city close to the sea. Making revenue off of fishing as well as making ship parts. The people were bustling with people just going about their daily business, not noticing the Team Magma operative Ember Fawkes moving throughout the city. She carried a large duffel bag carrying a medium-sized spherical object that was gray in color. Currently, Ember was wearing a simple black t-shirt, black jeans, and black and red sneakers. "Alright, where will I plant this device?" She quietly asked herself.

"Why not someplace inconspicuous?" A new voice suggested. Ember turned around to see a lion faunus with wild blonde hair with red in some parts, green eyes, a little scar on his chin, wearing a red light jacket, a white t-shirt, denim jeans, and black steel-toed boots. He was carrying a large red and yellow shield on his back. "Hi, Ember."

"Landon Mane?" Ember was surprised to see another Team Magma operative. "What are you doing here? Do you have a mission here, too?"

"Yes, and also to ensure your mission succeeds, by order of Tabitha." Landon answered with a small smile. "After all, we are Team Magma, the smartest of all the groups."

Ember couldn't disagree with Landon's words. "Indeed we are. Now, can you help me figure out where to plant this?"

"Oh, of course." Landon chuckled as the two resumed walking. "Besides, I wanted to ask how Firewing's doing."

"Firewing is doing great." Ember smiled. "He evolved only a couple weeks ago. He's a Fletchinder now."

"That's great!" Landon smiled, high-fiving Ember. "Before you ask, Simba is doing wonderfully. Wouldn't want any other first Pokemon than him."

"Do I see two Team Magma operatives?" A third voice called out. Landon and Ember's eyes widened. They turned to see a 6ft man with white hair in a buzz-cut, red eyes, a white beard, a silver nose ring, and a large scar on his right eye wearing a white sailor's uniform, but with the Team Aqua symbol on the left sleeve, and a small pouch standing there.

"Wait. I've seen you before, when we all introduced ourselves to each other." Landon realized. "You're Merrick Romero."

Merrick chuckled heartily. "In the flesh. Surprised you still recognize me. Who are you two?"

"I am Landon Mane. This is Ember Fawkes." Landon introduced. "So, what's a Team Aqua member doing in Slateport?"

"I have a mission of my own in the Slateport Museum, by orders of Archie." Merrick replied with a smirk. "I can tell by the size of that duffel bag, your mission is more explosive."

Landon and Ember looked at each other before they both sighed. "You guessed right, Merrick." Ember said. "Should we wait until your mission is finished?"

"Oh, no. Don't delay your mission by my account. By all means…" With that, Merrick walked off to the Slateport Museum.

"Well, that was something." Ember shrugged. "Anyway, shall we?" Landon nodded and the two Team Magma operatives resumed their mission. A few minutes of walking around, the two decided to plant the device at an abandoned warehouse they found. "Right here should be fine."

"I agree." Landon nodded, making sure no one saw them doing this. "Alright. No prying eyes." Ember nodded back and planted the device. "Good, now let's get out of here before Slateport goes sky high." He and Ember then bolted out of the warehouse, their device now counting down.

"I don't really care if anyone goes in there. All for Team Magma." Ember whispered to herself.

Meanwhile, a blonde boy with a blonde monkey tail and dark-grey eyes was checking out the grass near Slateport. He stood at exactly 6 feet, and was wearing a white, short-sleeved button-up shirt and a pair of jeans that went just above his ankles. He also had red gauntlets covering his forearms with simple black and yellow sneakers. Around his neck was a simple looking necklace. This was Sun Wukong, leader of Team SSSN. "Damn, that Aipom is fast!" Sun lightly cursed. "Did you see anything, Spitfire?"

Beside Sun was a round, red Pokémon with short arms and legs and a stubby tail. It has an orange face and curly yellow eyebrows. It has three yellow ovals on its abdomen and a curvy yellow line on its back. Its hands and feet are orange with three digits each. "Daru!" Spitfire shook himself, as if saying no.

"Maaaaaaan~ That was the last of my allowance too for today~" Sun whines, Spitfire sighing in equal disappointment.

"Maka!" Spitfire tried to comfort his trainer by trying to hug his left leg.

"Yeah, I guess it was just one measly milkshake." Sun agrees as he bends down and rubs his friend's head which he liked. "Still, would like to get back at that purple monkey."

Suddenly, a simian Pokémon with a three-fingered hand at the end of its tail appeared. Its fur is purple, while the skin of its face, inner ears, belly, feet, and the tip of its tail are beige. Its face usually has a cheeky smile and round, blue eyes. With its round ears, Aipom's head is disproportionately large compared to its body. Atop its head is a cowlick that is longer on females than males. Unlike its feet, Aipom's arms are simple, purple stubs. This was the Pokemon that stole Sun's banana milkshake.

Sun could tell because the long tail pokémon still has a leftover milkshake mustache. "Hey! There you are! Spitfire Rollout!" Sun then yells the small red ball cheering happily as he suddenly rolls at top speeds. Rolling up the tree heading straight for the purple simian. Of course not one to just stand there and take it the Aipom laughs as they easily jump out of the way onto another tree branch. It laughs and dances to taunt its opponent but while distracted by Spitfire they did not see Sun get behind them and land a solid whack on the back of their head with his pole staff.

"Aipom!" It shouted in pain as it rubbed its head. It jumped back and attempted to whack the Monkey faunus with its hand tail, but Sun dodged that. While distracted by Sun this time, Spitfire got up and used Headbutt, knocking the Aipom off balance for a few seconds.

Sun then uses his semblance to create an energy clone to grab the Aipom and restrain it as well as its large hand tail. "End this with Fire Fang!" Sun then yells.

"Darumaka!" Spitfire cutely saluted and created a pair of fangs with a blazing red aura headed towards the Aipom and proceeded to chomp down. The attack hit thanks to Sun's energy clone. The Aipom would feel that for a bit though it didn't burn it. "Daru cheered at his attack hitting.

Aipom groans from the multiple heavy blows before looking up at Sun who towered over him, the clone sitting on the branch to keep him held. "OK, you little rascal. You sorry for stealing yet?" Sun then asks with a pissed off smile making the beat up 2ft7 pokemon squeak. "I was going to let it go but seeing that milkshake mustache on your lips just ticks me off.~" he explains making the mischievous monkey shiver in fearful regret.

"Aipom..." It said in a fearful, but also apologetic tone. It then started making gestures with the help of its tail hand to try and explain that it was stealing cause it was hungry.

Sun whips his bo staff making the little monkey flinch, "Well then you should've asked!~ I would've gotten you food if you just told me so!" he assures the Aipom, the little guy yelling in fright before the semblance clone dissipates making them gasp in surprise. "Well, I hope you learned your lesson. I'd rather you didn't steal from the wrong person and actually get hurt." Sun then says with a bright smile, Spitfire giggling behind his trainer.

"Aipom..." The Simian Pokemon attempted to get closer to Sun, albeit slowly. Still smiling, Sun held out a hand. Slowly, the Aipom used its tail hand to shake said hand.

"Now then, I gotta get going, but if you want to eat more. I can feed you. Got a lot of lien on the side to keep Spitfire nice and healthy. Should have more than enough for you.~" Sun then offers kindly, earning sparkle eyes from the purple monkey.

"Aipom! Aipom!" The purple simian then climbed onto Sun's back, loving the offer. It then rubbed it's head against Sun's cheek with a big smile.

"hah hah, just keep your tail paw off of our stuff alright? If you steal again, that'll earn you more ouchies from me." Sun then warns, making the Aipom sweat a little and speak in an understood tone.

Suddenly, the ground shook a bit as an explosion just occurred. Sun, Spitfire, and the Aipom looked to Slateport, and all their eyes widened in complete and utter shock as they just saw a massive plume of smoke rising into the sky. "What the hell..." They could faintly hear the sound of fire crackling. The three then looked at each other before Sun took out a super potion from one of his pant pockets, "This'll sting! But I could use your help!" Sun then says and before the Aipom could respond Sun sprayed him. For a split second Aipom cried out in shock as he felt a rush of uncomfortable energy ran through him only for the long tail pokemon to suddenly feel a lot better. "Ready to help?"

"Aipom!" It shouted in determination.

"Darumaka!" Spitfire agreed with the Aipom.

"Alright Murph, Spitfire, let's go!" Sun then declares as he rushes off with his two friends, one new, and one old, now rushing off at top speeds.

It took a few minutes, Sun and his two Pokemon made it to Slateport where people were rushing to put the flames out, some of them even going to the beach to collect seawater. People were in a state of panic thanks to this, obviously. Sun knew this would attract Grimm on top of it unless he stepped in to help. Some people has water type Pokemon that were using different water attacks. "Alright, let's see what we can do to help."

"Spitfire, you go into the flames and search for anyone stuck in there! Murph, you help with the water with your tail and use Sand Attack to create mud!" Sun instructs the two saluting and yelling in understanding before rushing off. Sun then looked up to see if there were any tall buildings and ran up a nearby one to get a better vantage point and see if there was anything else he could do.

"You! Are you a Hunter?" A woman asked.

"Yes, I am! Is there anything I can do to help?" Sun asked in concern.

"Yes! The flames are spreading to the Museum! People are still in there!" The woman screamed, pointing to the museum. "You have to save the people still in there!"

"Got it!" Sun then rushes off leaving his pokémon to do their job. As he ran he sent an emergency signal to his teammates although he had a feeling they already knew what was happening it was good to check to see if they were okay. "Come one, come on" he mumbles to himself as he reaches the museum and forces the doors open.

Running inside, he saw people coughing from the smoke that was reaching inside. "Guys! Come on! Follow me outside!" Sun gestured, urgency in his voice. As he held the doors open he concentrated and summoned as many clones as he could to have them run in and guide as many people as possible outside. As he did he looked around with his eyes to make sure he wasn't missing anything.

When he didn't see anyone else, he had his clones disappear and stopped holding the doors open. Panting, Sun then proceeded to make sure the people were okay. "You guys okay?"

"We're fine! But I think there's someone missing! A guy in a weird pirate getup." a man explains making Sun curse.

"Anything unique about the guy?" Sun then asks.

"He wore blue and white and had this weird symbol on his bandana. Like a cross between a water drop and crossbones." the man explains.

Sun ran back in and went to the second floor where he saw Merrick carrying an unconscious Captain Stern over his right shoulder. "Hey he is okay?!" Sun then called out to the two unaware of who Merrick really was and made him look startled as he saw Sun running towards him.

"We're both fine. Nothing to concern yourself with." Merrick answered nonchalantly.

"Well, best we both help get him out and see the medics." Sun insists as he gets next to the aqua member and lifts up Stern's legs.

"That's not necessary." Merrick said as he kicked Sun in the stomach, knocking him back. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be taking Captain Stern with me.

"The hell's your problem punk!" Sun yells before taking out his bo staff and swings it around in a show of skill. Sighing, Merrick puts the captain down and cracks his knuckles.

"Beat it kid" he then warns.

"What the hell's your problem!" Sun repeated.

"You really don't know who you're dealing with right now, do you?" Merrick raised an eyebrow as he brought out a pair of hooks that started glowing blue from water dust.

"A criminal apparently!" Sun replies before turning his bo staff into a three-section staff as he ran at Merrick before he started blasting. The weapon itself took the criminal off guard for a second as he started off on the defensive blocking the highly skilled shotgun blasts and nunchuck strikes.

"Wasn't expecting that. Not bad, monkey boy, but not good enough for Team Aqua!" Merrick roared as he slammed the hooks onto the floor, creating a small wave of water that slammed into the monkey faunus. This gave Merrick the chance to slam Sun in the chest with his boot.

Sun's eyes widened in shock as he grunted and was knocked onto his back with a wheeze. "Not just anyone can take us on brat. We pride ourselves on our training methods." Merrick explains with a proud grin as Sun got himself back up, biting back the pain.

"Y-You're going down." Sun lightly wheezed, readying his weapons.

"You really believe that after you're hurt from a simple kick?" Merrick taunted.

"I'm from Vacuo jerkface! We don't quit just because we're hurting!" Sun points out, making Merrick look a little surprised.

"Vacuo you say? Well excuse me for being so rude." Merrick then replies in a genuine tone. "I'll be sure to kick your ass thoroughly out of respect." he then declares as he gets into a serious stance.

"Now, prepare for pain!" He ran at Sun and began swinging his hooks. He was much faster than Sun would've thought and was having a time dodging the hooks. "Come on! You're from Vacuo! Fight back!"

Sun returned his weapon back to his bo staff and began to try to get in a few good swings but they were easily blocked by Merrick's weapon hooks. Sun tried to make space in order to use his semblance but the aqua member wasn't making it easy for him. The hallway was surrounded by smoke and fire as the two fought. "I get you're not even an adult yet, but come on! I'd think you'd be better than average!" Merrick noted sounding very disappointed. The Team Aqua member kicked Sun in the side. "You know, for someone from Vacuo, you're not doing too good!" He created a wave of water from his hooks that hit Sun in the stomach. sending him back a couple of feet.

Sun crouches to one knee and groans as Merrick walks up to him, his weapons raised, Sun then chuckles, "That all you got? I've seen garden hoses spit more water.~" he then taunted as he stood back up pretending to be just fine.

"You must be a glutton for punishment, then. However, I am in a time crunch today." Merrick partially lamented. "I must be going with Captain Stern."

"Come on! You know I'm going to stop you from running! So hit me with everything you got! I dare you!" Sun then yells as he glows brightly and summons two clones ready to fight back.

"I know what you're trying to do, kid. You want me to attack with water so you can put it out, but that's not happening." Instead, Merrick put on ballistic glasses and then threw down a flashbang.

Sun yells in pain as he squeezes his eyes shut and endures the ringing in his ears as he has his clones run forward to try to save Captain Stern. Only for the both of them to easily be dealt with with two swings of Merrick's hook as he picks the knocked out man up and runs away.

When the light died down and the ringing in his ears ceased, Sun looked around for Merrick and Captain Stern, but both were nowhere to be seen. "Damn it!" He shouted, punching the floor for a second before standing up, holstering his weapons, and ran out of the museum.

By the time he got out he saw a bunch of water type pokémon and firemen dealing with the fires, Spitfire and Murph running up to them both cover in suite and mud respectively. They both looked very proud of themselves. Sun forced back the pain and fatigue to keep his mons' spirits up, "I see you two were busy, you doing good?" he then asks them. The two cheer as they mimed how they helped a lot, Sun then got a buzz from his scroll and saw he had several messages from his teammates. Oh fuck, he forgot he had messaged them.

Calling Neptune's scroll, he was met with yelling teammates. "Sun, what the hell were you thinking, helping out alone?! We're a team for a reason! You should've waited for us!" Neptune shouted through the scroll.

"Lives that need to be saved don't wait man come on. Be happy I remembered to call you all." Sun retorts, "besides, I'm not alone, I got my little buddies with me." He then points out.

"Sun, you sound in pain. Did you get into a fight?" Neptune asked in concern.

"Yeah and I got my butt kicked handily. Some dude that was part of a Team Aqua or something. He kidnapped a guy, I think he said, Captain Stern?" Sun admits as he continued to do his best to hide how hurt he felt. He needed to stay strong until the situation was safe.

Scarlet suddenly popped up. "Wait? The Captain Stern?! That guy created the S.S Tidal!" The pirate-themed teammate exclaimed. "That guy is the reason Slateport is as prosperous as it is today!"

"Well fuck me... I let him get kidnapped." Sun then says, sounding defeated now.

"Just come back here, Sun, and we'll talk about it." Neptune sighed. "Don't feel too bad, man. We all fail sometimes."

"I get that but damn... that guy was strong. Seriously, it felt like I was fighting a pro hunter." Sun noted as he takes out two pokeballs, returning Spitfire and then using the other one to capture Murph.

"Then we've got to keep training." Neptune said. "Look, we're heading to Vale in a couple days. We're being allowed to freely train until then."

"Yeah that'd be nice. Going to need an hour though." Sun admits as he walks along holding his abs.

"Yeah. Take your time and Be. Careful." Neptune emphasized the last two words of his sentence.

"Noted, Neptune. See you at the motel." Sun then replies before hanging up and then looking back at all of the chaos, he can't even begin to imagine the casualties and that hurt more than anything else.

As Slateport was still on fire, Ember and Landon were on a boat, just about to sail back to their base. "Look at that, Landon. Isn't it beautiful?"

Landon lets out an odd laugh, "I do hope Courtney isn't numbing you to the concept of death." he then says with a smile making Ember look at him with an raised eyebrow. "Oh sure we should be proud of what we're doing and it's all for a good cause. But let's not lose our humanity along the way. I would not call what we did beautiful." he explains with a calm and wise smile.

"I guess being with Courtney is having a bad influence on me." Ember admitted.

"Not to say anything bad about her. She's an admin for a good reason and fellow members do believe she'll be next in line to be beside Leader Maxie. Still, to see her as a role model is unhealthy." Landon points out.

"I know... I know that and yet... I don't know Landon, I think she has me under strings and I don't know how to break them." Ember admits as she sits down and sighs, "I fully understand who she is. But she's... she knows how to get into you. Make you want more of what she's offering." she then explains as she shivers a little. "Even when your body is telling you she's bad. She makes you desire her attention."

"This is why I'm with Tabitha." Landon sighed when they both saw Merrick running up to them. "Merrick?"

"Hey, guys. I know we're not on the same team, but could you give me a lift to Lilycove?" Merrick asked.

"What?!" Ember replies as she stands back up. "Don't your team renounce things like boats?! Not to mention the beef our two teams have! Use a Wailmer or something!" she points out to Merrick.

"Fine." Merrick groaned as he brought out a special ball and threw it, releasing a Wailmer. "Okay, big guy. We gotta get going." He said as he climbed on.

"WAIL!~" the 6ft7 blue and cream ball sang happily before speeding off with ease through the water. It may not be the fastest on land but water travel was easy for the ball whale pokémon. "See you two some other time!" he then calls out.

Landon and Ember waved as they watched Merrick sail off on his Wailmer into the distance. 'We should get going as well. We must report to the admins. Plus, Maxie will be coming soon for the fourth admin selection." He informed.

"Who's your bet on the fourth being?" Ember then asks as they begin to sail away at top speeds.

"Either you, me, or Lionel Winettka." Landon answered simply.

"Yeah right. I'm way too young to lead. Who puts a 16 year old in the leader role?" Ember questions, "Hope it's you though, you're pretty nice."

"Why, thank you, Ember. I'm just glad we accomplished our mission." Landon said, smiling.

"Well, my mission, yours was keeping an eye on me just in case. I appreciate you of course but I didn't need it." Ember then replies confidently.

"Remember that we are Team Magma. We are smarter than the others." Landon reminded while smiling still.

"Yea, I know. But come on. What's the point of solo missions if they aren't actually solo?~" Ember says in a playful tone.

"I just like to be safe on missions rather than sorry." Landon explained. "Anyway, looked like Merrick accomplished his mission as I think that was Captain Stern over his shoulder."

"Wait... isn't he on Team Magma's list too?" Ember then says, causing a sudden silence between the high ranked grunts.

"Team Aqua probably wants him first for his oceanography." Landon then reasoned. "Besides, we have another person to grab: Professor Cozmo."

"Uh yeah but, we should inform the admins." Ember points out in a slight panic.

"And let them know we let Captain Stern be taken away right in front of us?" Landon replies. "Besides, I'm pretty sure Team Aqua will call us just to gloat as the few pieces of tech they have are the communications system with us and others and scrolls." He added.

"Feels... wrong not to say something..." Ember noted.

"I've gotten as far as I have, knowing when to be truthful and when to keep my mouth shut." Landon explains. "Besides, they'll find out sooner rather than later. Also, I'm thinking more of what everyone else will think of what we've done to Slateport."

Ember sighs but then smiles, "Yeah, I am proud of the mission succeeding. I hope Courtney will reward me this time." she then says, getting quiet at the end.

"It's Courtney, so that seems unlikely." Landon commented.

"Gah!" She then yells holding her head, "Dammit, again it's like I'm under a spell." she admits sounding a bit scared. "I don't know what she does but... yeah I do wish I wasn't under her sometimes."

"I feel for you." Landon said. "Anyway, we should celebrate our accomplishment when we're back at base."

"How so?" Ember then asks.

"A feast of meat. I'm starving." Landon's stomach growled right after he said that.

"You carnivore.~" She says in a teasing tone.

"Can you blame me? Meat is the gift of the gods." Landon smiled, his sharp teeth bared.

"Sorry but if there's one thing I'm happy about being under Courtney, it's the fact that her health rules are top tier." Ember noted.

"And for all of Tabitha's strengths. I think he's way too lenient on his soldiers. He just lets you guys do whatever until you're needed. As stressful as it is, Courtney's strict schedule works wonders for both health of body and mind. She's intense, but I never feel pressured to do more than what I am asked of." Ember admits.

"Fair enough, but we're still better than the others." Landon smirked.

"Yes... yes we are." Ember admits as the two share a small high five.

Meanwhile, Merrick was enjoying the salty sea air and the high wind blowing on his face, Captain Stern still knocked out behind him, but secured tightly so that he wouldn't fall off. "What a day. I meet two Team Magma goons, secure Captain Stern, beat a brat from Vacuo, and make a clean getaway."

He then rubs his shoulder, Sun had managed to land a single gunshot on him. He managed to ignore it but it was still a point blank shot. "Tch, kids these days. Next thing you know we'll be having 15 year olds kicking ass." he noted, Wailmer making a concern sound as if checking up on their trainer. "Oh, don't worry, buddy." Merrick rubbed his Wailmer, comforting it. "It'll take more than one shot to bring me down."

"Wail~" the large pokémon replied happily.

"Regardless, the mission has been accomplished. I wonder how Team Magma will react when we gloat about this to them. Well, time to get back to base." Merrick smiled.

"Wail!" Wailmer then yells and suddenly strafes to the left. "Woah!" Merrick replies, "What is it?!"

Suddenly a dark blue fin raises up out of the water making the young man's eyes widen, "Shit, a sharpedo!" He then realizes Sharpedos being the natural predator to Wailmers.

"Looks like we'll have to fight our way out of this one, buddy." Merrick brought out Roaring Wave, ready to slice and dice. He stared at the leading Sharpedo with an intense look.

The Brutal Pokemon slowly raised a bit more, showing off its yellow star and piercing red eyes looking straight at Merrick as if accepting his challenge. "Shaaaarrrrr" It's cry was heard, deep and bubbly.

Hello, everyone. I hope you all liked this chapter of Rwby: Remnant's Trainers. Well, Team Magma has made their move. Slateport has been bombed by them. We see Ember Fawkes again along with meeting Landon Mane as well as a Team Aqua member: Merrick Romero who has his own mission by orders of his own leader: Archie.

Meanwhile, we are introduced to Sun Wukong and his Darumaka named Spitfire. They get into a small scuffle with a wild Aipom that stole Sun's banana milkshake. Soon though, he befriends it and names it Murph.

However, this is interrupted when Team Magma's device goes off, destroying the warehouse. Sun and his two Pokemon help out in different parts. Sun heads into the museum to help people, only to run into Merrick in the process of taking the unconscious Captain Stern. There's a small fight, but Merrick kicks Sun's ass in the interim.

Ps: This is like Weiss. I'm not bashing Sun. He just went up against a stronger opponent.
